I agree - I think it's one of the best sung finales I've heard; but I really don't hear it as being flat, and I'm usually pretty sensitive to that.
The music in Mozart's opera, at least those I have been able to adore - Le Nozze di Figaro, Don Giovanni, Cenerentola) is so delightful. Even though the first and third are on many places very similar.
The only sad thing is that half of the show is recitatives which makes it so dull.
Cenerentola is by Rossini. The recitatives are necessary to move the story on and are often very witty themselves.
