I've watched interviews of Focus talking about how this song is just a joke to everyone who was there when they jammed and made it. The first time I heard this song, I was a junior at college and went to see my cousin in San Diego. We smoked a joint and turned up the loud speakers incredibly loud. From the first notes, I blasted off and imagined I was traveling in space...when the ride was over, we looked at each other and cracked up. What a song! What a journey. And, although I haven't smoked the evil weed in 30-plus years, the song still holds up. Way to go, Focus!

I feel very fortunate to have been able to watch rock & roll grow from a tiny seed back in the 50's to a beautiful rose in the 70's. Unfortunately just like the rose it withers and dies. Maybe someday a seed will again be planted and another beautiful flower will come of it. If it is going to happen, it better be soon or else I'm gonna miss it!!!
