Love the channel but there has been so much recent news that the sealed graded market has been a fraud and these sales are fake and all the agencies are in process worked together in conflict of interest. These companies are being sued. The sale of this was fake and likely not paid for.

Hi! Thank you, I'm glad you like the channel! I've seen some news over the past few years regarding games being graded. I remember the WATA lawsuit from a couple of years ago in regards to 'manipulating' the retro game market but I hadn't heard anything about the sales being fake or not paid for. Do you happen to know what became of that lawsuit? I remember Pat Contri was covering it for awhile on his channel, I'm going to have tune in and see what the latest is.

Thank you, I just looked up his channel and found a video on it. I am going to check it out right now. I sincerely hope they have to pay for what they did in court! 🙏

Completely unrelated and off topic: But Mario’s Missing and Mario Paint deserved better.

I couldn't agree more man! Especially Mario Paint... It's somewhat surprising we didn't receive one during the Wii/Wii U/DS/3DS era.

Must've been cool to play Mario 64 early. Must've felt good when the Mario 64 announcement arrived for your story to check out among classmates. I bought an N64 relatively close to release and sold my PS1 and all its games to buy it. The next few years consisted of conversations about what console was better the N64 or PS1. PS1 takes me back to games like Broken Sword which is currently on Kickstarter for a reforged remaster.

What's up MichaelJ! It was quite unreal to go to Gamers thinking I was going to rent a Super Nintendo game only to find out about a new 3D Nintendo system and then be told 'Oh by the way, you can take it for the weekend and try it out'. I can literally still remember exactly how I felt that day. It felt damn good for my story to check out! We rented Playstation from Blockbuster the day it came out. We literally called Blockbuster hourly as we awaiting the arrival of Playstation. Fond memories with PS1 too but none as fond as the N64. We had heated conversations during that era about the same thing and had several talking points ranging from the Graphics, Nintendo's 1st party games vs Playstation, Load Times, The Rumble Pak, the classic Nintendo quote of Quality over Quantity. Good times for sure. I didn't know Broken Sword was on Kickstarter, I am going to go check that out now. 👍

@@thunderstashgaming Let us know if you plan on going with the Broken Sword 1 Reforged kick starter although £100 for a physical version seems a bit too steep for me and I may pick it up on a Steam sale to replay.
Just to let you know I enjoyed the video. I think you're doing awesome content and I'll look forward to more of your content.

Thank you very much Michael, I sincerely appreciate your support especially given some of the spirited comments on this video! I never thought anyone would actually think a standard copy of Mario 64 is worth 1.5 million dollars. 🤷‍♂️ I will definitely let you know on Broken Sword, still thinking about it because like you said it is pretty steep for a physical copy.

This guy's info is all wrong lol. That game hype was artificially produced by wata and heritage auctions. The same copy (the 9.8) that sold for 1.5 mill. It instantly dropped price by half and then sold for half again last August. Someone lost a lot of money believing this kinda hype. Really loved your review of mario 64 however. I feel the same way and one of my friends knew someone from Japan who also told Me about the painting hop before it hit shelves in canada.

That is horrible to hear that the game's sold price was instantly cut in half. I had no idea what happened after the sale of the game. Sounds like Heritage and Wata are working together to build and inflate the graded videogame market which is not cool at all. I feel sincerely bad for the person that bought it. Thank you and I'm glad you enjoyed the Mario 64 review. That game is extremely special to me and as you know has a lot of personal memories attached to it and sounds like you probably feel the same way I do about it. That's awesome you guys found out about the paintings before everyone else. Back then before the internet took off, news traveled a lot differently. If it wasn't in EGM, GamePro or Nintendo Power then there was no way for us to know what was coming next!
