Man I never realized how complicated and intricate combines are. I strictly work on construction machinery so thanks for sharing show much about how these Ag machines work!
Thanks for another great video ZK. It was interesting and enjoyable. Thanks for doing this review type talking about jobs you have done or are working on. For me personally I do not always need to see wrench’s flying and all that. Yes, on a lot of the jobs is nice to see what you are doing. But I really enjoyed you talking about the jobs and kind of a review of your work. Found that interesting. Thanks for explaining your outlook about the electrical tools you have. Seems that is the trend right now. Thanks for showing us Josh ‘s new toolbox and traveling box. All are very nice and am sure are expensive items to purchase. Nice pieces Josh. The job you did show us was interesting. It turned out to be a wiring issue versus a parts issue. Electrical work is not always easy but better than having to go a lot of take off and on type work. Nice going on that job ZK. Taught me you can look for the electrical issue some time and not parts replacement. Thanks. Guess that is my talk for now. Always enjoy your channel ZK. Learn a lot from you. Thanks for everything. You take care and be safe. The Iowa Farm Boy.
Thanx for sharing, like all of the videos. Those organized tool boxes made me want to burn my tool shed, LOL. I learn something new with each video, keep them coming. 😃
Definitely a fan of Milwaukee tools myself. Have lots of them. I found it interesting that the hydraulic controller looks just like a IPR for a 444 International engine.
Yet another informative video Zeth*. Thanks for passing on your knowledge and Thanks to Sloan for allowing you to film it. I wouldn't worry about posting something that you have already done before. I have learned a lot from each video.
That defective terminal was a great diagnosis. I first thought that you had shorted out something with your hand in there. WOW ! Great work on your videos. 😊
Thanks for sharing. Your channel is the best. I enjoy watching every repair job, even if it’s something I have already viewed. I’m highly impressed with your professionalism and the pride you display in your work.
Thanks for sharing your Videos I really enjoy the newer equipment. I was a JD tec back in the 80's &90's and miss the feeling of working on the green paint. Keep up the good work
I like to see anything you put on the channel , I have always wondered how these big machines work and what they look like on the inside. Thanks for taking us along on the repairs As for me i would say don't worry about repition of repairs , I like to see what you are doing and hearing the explaination of the repairs.
Thanks for another great video Zeth and there is no need to apologize when your unable to get a video out. I personally think far more of you for your commitment to the job which must always come first, and then when you have the opportunity then you can take us along. Your work at Sloan's is what makes the company profitable and feeds you and your family. Great to see the growth in Josh and got to say I really love the Matco tool box! For me its more tractors even some older ones too.
Thanks for sharing another great episode Zeth, looking forward to spring time in the field. Congrats on 60,000 surely you will see 100,000 in no time. Your attitude, attention to detail and skill are what make this such a great channel. I've said it before Sloan is lucky to have you.
Zeth those rotor bearings can be a pain to remove. I’ve found the best way is to pull the seal off and air hammer the cage, separate the ball bearings enough to get a blind housing puller inside, then use an impact on the puller, mine is an SKF set. Saves tons of struggle and time. Hope it helps ya on future rotor bearings🤘🏻
I used to have a Pin pusher Tool to rebuild terminal blocks on Fryer’s GCS Service out of KC or St. Louis Frymaster Fryers we’re notorious for broken Terminals because of heat! It’s a Mini screwdriver with a Tube over the Shaft of screwdriver
It would be interesting to see more info on one of the parts you hate the most. Tools, tips and techniques you use to remove broken bolts or studs. Bonus points for details on how you prevent them breaking in the first place. You have had bits of that every time you get into exhaust studs, but haven't seen many actually break off for you. Enjoying the videos, man.
Another great video as always Zeth! Interesting to see how things are done on the Deere side of things compared to what I see as a New Holland service tech. I think some good potential content could be a video on the store/shop tour if Sloans would let you do that. I know it must be difficult to film content and manage a large work load. Keep up the good work it’s greatly appreciated!
Dude your content and channel is rediculously good and cool!! Its inspired me to become an Ag Tech and I watch every video possible keep them coming Zeth. Also am subscribed to Millenial Farmer watch all theyre videos too!!
Jesus! Where to start! Full respect dude! Apart from the sheer complexity of this engine, bloody thing must cost an arm and a leg to buy and run! Still, I guess the farmer must think it’s worth it and be making some sort of a profit out of it
So you’re a Milwaukee proud boy they do make some really good tools I like them I just got a string trimmer for working around the house I also have PEX crimp rings tools for plumbing you get what you pay for good video really is
I really like that you took the time to pull that plug apart and replace the terminal. A lot of technicians would've cut that plug off, through a couple heat shrink, splice connectors in there and called it a day. That is a massive variable displacement, hydraulic pump running that fan is that all it runs or did I miss some thing and that pump is responsible for some thing else as well? I have worked on aerial lifts that have pumps that size to drive the entire machine. Haha
It only runs the fan…like I said it’s got some power. If Josh was standing in front of the tractor when it went full speed, it would have sucked him right into the coolers lol 😂.
Awsome video. If you have something you have already shown that's kicking you butt, show it. It gives an entertaining view and shows the struggle of the work you do. When everything goes as planned, it's not as entertaining 😂😂😂
Zeth, just curious..what foam liners do you have in your truck? I like the cutouts for tool organization and I’m trying to locate moderatedly sized drawer sheets for my roll cab. Thanks, another great video!
Love your videos, learning a ton. Have a question on a 9420 we own. Had a hydraulic leak underneath near the main hydraulic pump...my brother kept driving it to finish where he was wven though the alarms were screaming to stop. Had our local JD dealer tech come look at it. The 9420 drives and shifts like it should, but none of the scv functions work properly...low hydraulic pressure. The pump was completely rebuild...the hydraulic stacks all gone through...still acts the same. I am into this project $16,000 and no solution. My tech is the best in 200 miles and he knows his stuff....but we are both wondering about this. Just wondering if you have ever dealt with anything like this.
What a headache, for you Zeth and the customer. Makes you wonder about quality control where all these wiring harnesses are made, and there are so many on every tractor its ridiculous. Funny I don't remember any fan drive problems on the older tractors lol.
Zeth do you ever watch content from other youtubers like Adept Ape? I like his destruction of the week segments he does and he has even started showing pictures that viewers send him. If you were to do a segment on that I have a submission I would like to send you! I work at a JD dealer in Canada and we had a 9620R come in with a near catastrophic failure in the gudgeon. The tractor nearly cracked in half!
Thank you for the video I enjoy watching you go through the diagnostic process to find the problem. I also have quite an arsenal of Milwaukee tools. I noticed you didn't solder the terminal on the wire. Is it not recommended by Deere or terminal manufacturer?
I guess Cummins has done the maths...but you gotta wonder if the complexity and expense of a variable fan system like that is worth the fuel and horsepower savings compared to a simple belt driven thermo fan. Thanks for the video!
Looks like a really nice clean solution to the fandrive challenge. This problem looked quite unusual and I expect these probably can provide a trouble free long-life system. If the software does not demand fast speed changes the bearings will have less load shocks and last longer. Interesting to watch the demand response in diagnostics.
Whats your recommendation for keeping svc cables in adjustment? Have a 4066r running only a pronovast cyclone that keeps having the 5th svc cable coming out of adjustment.
I have to use an inspection form on a program called Codify. It is like a check list on everything on the combine or tractor and I can select whether it’s red, needs fixed now, yellow, can run another season, or green, it’s good. Then all the red segments gets added to the summary where you can add labor and parts to reach task to give the customer an estimate on repairs. It’s not available to customers. But there used to be paper inspection sheets but we don’t use them anymore. Don’t think they are available to customers.
It can be okay if you strip back and find it was only local damage. I think the break was burnt from the connection arcing on and off, that's quite different from a wire that has melted from an overload!
im not a farmer but i love tecky stuff been a auto teck for many years knew alot of farmers also but any way i noticed that your oxyacetylene tank have the gauges attached im not sure but up here in ont canada they have to be capped while in transit im sure i will get told if im wrong or not but love the vids

Man, that Matco box is an absolute unit. Congrats Josh.
just $50 bucks a week for the next 10 years...
-son of a former matco man
Well luckily I traded in my old box so only $50 /wk for 2 years lol
Good to see you, stay safe!
Love Josh's new tool box....Custom built. Nice.

Contgradulations to Josh on his custum tool box! Good videos ZK
Josh Has the Bling Bling 👍👍👍👍
That defective terminal was a great diagnosis. I first thought that you had shorted out something with your hand in there. WOW ! Great work on your videos. 😊
Welcome back ! we always miss you, but am sure this is a very busy time for you . Great video , great find in the fan speed sensor !
Another good video. Thanks for your time.

That 4000 series side emblem in Josh’s toolbox is definitely cool.
Interesting video. Greetings from Ireland 🇮🇪.
Great video Zeth! I would love to see a video of the whole dealership.

Tractors, tractors tractors 😁 love the channel Zeth 👍
Thanks 👍
You do need a halogen electronic leak detector for checking seals and O-rings for leaks, shaft seals behind the clutch, etc. Huge time saver.
Also, I wouldn’t mind some repeat videos 😂 even if it’s already been filmed I’d still watch
Awsome video. If you have something you have already shown that's kicking you butt, show it. It gives an entertaining view and shows the struggle of the work you do. When everything goes as planned, it's not as entertaining 😂😂😂
Just installed a Cleanfix reversing Fan in a new 8R 310. Boy does that puppy make you pucker up when she hits reverse.
Got love a good tool truck. Snap on
Nice Vid !
That Road Chest is best box built had one over 20 years

Kaizen tool foam from Home Depot
Good one👍
Good job buds
Hi Zeth can you explain just what regeneration is and does this work, really like your videos

I have but there’s got to be a reason the pressure is low. Why can’t they figure that out?
We replace our rotor bearings yearly. Pinto bean dust takes out seals. Got x9’s this year so don’t know what kind of job that will be.
I never use my Milwaukee right angle impact. I couldn’t even get the hydraulic pump coupler for my 4430 off with it
It’s always something simple.
Definitely some more tractor work, also is josh full time? I thought he was going to John Deere school.
He is a full time tech.
I've seen alot of broken wire ends on a few combines and had 56 volt generator that signal wire wasn't pushed all the way in place.
Josh, I would have got a black one, I've been waiting for over two yrs. to get red touch-up paint
What a headache, for you Zeth and the customer. Makes you wonder about quality control where all these wiring harnesses are made, and there are so many on every tractor its ridiculous. Funny I don't remember any fan drive problems on the older tractors lol.
sounds like a lot of work on that 9510R,do you remember how many hours are on it?
Zeth do you ever watch content from other youtubers like Adept Ape? I like his destruction of the week segments he does and he has even started showing pictures that viewers send him.

That’s a good idea. I like that
@@ZKMasterTech Let me know if you want me to send you some pictures!
Thank you for the video I enjoy watching you go through the diagnostic process to find the problem. I also have quite an arsenal of Milwaukee tools. I noticed you didn't solder the terminal on the wire. Is it not recommended by Deere or terminal manufacturer?
No terminals are not soldered.
LOL, Tool box envy!
I guess Cummins has done the maths...but you gotta wonder if the complexity and expense of a variable fan system like that is worth the fuel and horsepower savings compared to a simple belt driven thermo fan. Thanks for the video!

If the software does not demand fast speed changes the bearings will have less load shocks and last longer. Interesting to watch the demand response in diagnostics.
Can over greasing the rotor bearing be pushing the seal out the back? How much does it take?
I doubt it. That seal is actually hard to remove so the grease should come out easily. Sometimes it takes a half a tube or more to get it to come out.
Whats your recommendation for keeping svc cables in adjustment? Have a 4066r running only a pronovast cyclone that keeps having the 5th svc cable coming out of adjustment.
A Cummins engine painted John Deere green!
Both our 620-570 broke I the same place
So what kinda fuels do you have to use
When you do an inspection on a combine or tractor, do you have a checklist? Also is that list available to customers?
I have to use an inspection form on a program called Codify. It is like a check list on everything on the combine or tractor and I can select whether it’s red, needs fixed now, yellow, can run another season, or green, it’s good. Then all the red segments gets added to the summary where you can add labor and parts to reach task to give the customer an estimate on repairs. It’s not available to customers. But there used to be paper inspection sheets but we don’t use them anymore. Don’t think they are available to customers.
Ok thanks for the info, keep up the good work.

What hour range would recommend to trade in 8R 250? Pulls feed wagon to feed cows. used 3,000 hour a year.
That's a lot of hours! We don't see hours like that around me so I'm not sure what to tell you.
my experience has taught me to replace scorched wires...unless you want to return later...just my opinion...
It can be okay if you strip back and find it was only local damage. I think the break was burnt from the connection arcing on and off, that's quite different from a wire that has melted from an overload!
Maybe a tour of Josh truck
Zeth,is it comin for oil to get into the cooling system on the 9510s
Yes.
Why do they have different size tires on the front of the s680? Or is it an illusion
Vc é um gênio!
You work on greens stuff much?
Beats the hell out of the junk CVT's on the smaller ones. They are a cash cow for JD.:(
I would change the hand driving that 2nd tractor...to rough on the equipment...imho

Can we get a service truck tour
Of josh truck one day
