Robert Smith is a rare gem in the music industry. So authentically himself and he's remained down to earth all these years. Definitely one of my favorite people in music.

I never can decide if his responses just go over their heads, or if he is so different in person than what they expect that they don't know how to react? Most interviews I've seen, it feels like he is just being bombarded with either the same questions he's been asked a million times or random crap no one cares about, with no reaction to his answers, just move to next question. Why? I would love to just see someone having a real conversation with him.

I would love to interview Robert, but it’d be like 85% non-questions, like: “you know that sound you achieve with heavy strings and lots of reverb wash & delay ?” [Robert]: yah ? [me]: “I love that too.”

It’s weird for me to say, but this is part of why I like Robert so much. He converses with people just like I do. Just with such an open mind, and has a colorful opinion or perspective about everything, with a twinge of dry humor in the mix.

He’s a star shaped person that never had his edges cut of to fit in to a square shaped box. He’s very fortunate and it’s so wonderful to see him living his authentic life. Everyone should be able to do this but sadly most don’t or can’t. Lots of love to Robert🥰

I've been a massive fan of Robert Smith since I was 13 - 40 years later nothing has changed. I passed him when I was walking to Tottenham Court Road in 1989 - full makeup and hand and hand with his wife. I'm not usually starstruck when I meet celebs, but he momentarily made me weak at the knees. 🤩
That is so cool. I don't really care about famous people but that would freak me out a little if I saw Robert and Mary🥰

Has to be the humblest most down to earth famous person ever and not just in music. Robert has created some of the most amazing musical pieces ever written and he in no way acts like he is aware of that. Love him and love The Cure

I love this man I've always loved him ever since I saw him at the age of 7 years old, now I'm 43. I know he's older now but he's still so beautiful to me. I will always love The Cure and Robert Smith. I love his sense ov humor his quirkiness. His ideas and opinions. His aura is enchanting. His music is enchanting.
Robert's personality is what makes him beautiful. Just a genuine, humble person doing what he loves. He never let fame go to his head and that makes him all the more loveable.

I just remembered why I had the biggest crush on him in the 80s and 90s...and why my dad hated the way I looked. He’d say: “what’s wrong with you? You look like a dead girl!” 😂😂 what a trip down memory lane LOL! Almost 50 today and I’m still a huge fan...whenever I hear The Cure, I just smile...yeah, he’s the reason I looked like a dead girl:) and I still love it😂

Love these moments! He’s got such a great sense of humor, some of these I haven’t seen but I’m thankful I can find more hidden gems like this on the internet, I love hearing him talk about things especially when he is enjoying the interview. Only gives us a very very small insight into the genius he is but it’s better than nothing!
He doesn't reveal much about himself, but we still feel that we know him, know how he's like... such an incredible personality. 😊 I wish we can all get a chance to talk to him...

Never been into the Cure's music, except for a few tracks but have huge respect for them. He's solid gold though - Just any time I see an interview with him I'll watch it. What a smart, funny and erudite bloke. Love the way he says stuff and then finishes it with his cheesy grin; he's like a kid caught nicking sweets . Brilliant.

At 14:32 it proves how humble, down to earth and kind he is. How many other rock stars acknowledge the 'regular' people? How many other famous people give two hoots about the hundreds of behind the scenes people, their crew, blue collar workers? He despises fame and I think that makes him a very rare personality in today's insta-fame atmosphere.
That part definitely tells a lot about him...not a single famous person is like Robert and that's why we love him so much! ☺

Cannot measure the authentic joy Robert brought me for many years. I'm 64. I listen to the Cure while just driving to nowhere in my old jeep. I can't say why but I feel connected to life, good or bad when I hear his music and lyrics. I feel like I could sit down with him and have lunch and he would treat me as he would anyone else, with his kindness and authenticity. Time travel as of yet is not possible however music can take you back to the time when you first heard a song. Robert thanks for what you've given to the world.

He is timeless and so is the band. They evolve in their music but their look never changes. I love them for that. I also love them for hating awards and they're amazing live. 😍
His personality is just so lovely, kind and funny that is seems to shine from within him (which I’m sure he would laugh at if he ever read that) but it makes him such a beautiful man, no matter his age. Always a deep thinker who never followed others and set his own path, for which we are all so grateful. I think that my knees would go weak if I saw him and I’m no spring chicken anymore, but he is not full of crap or full of himself, he is just him, and that is lovely and very appealing.
