Funnily enough, the Bible actually tells Christians in 1 Peter 3:15 "Always be ready to give a logical defense to anyone who asks you to account for the hope that is in you, but do it courteously and respectfully." So there's really no excuse for Christians to just be shutting down religious debate with "You're wrong, full stop" instead of being ready to give a reason for why they believe what they believe to those who ask.
When it comes to religion you have to challenge the premises, not the logic. Christians, for example, have had 2 millennia to come up with the appearance of internal logical consistency. But it's still based on completely unprovable/unproven premises. Treat them like people who believe Harry Potter is real. You have to remind them it's just a book.
Romano Coombs Wow, you're fucking stupid. Not withstanding the rest of your ahistorical rant, Mother Teresa as a total piece of shit, a heinous sociopath who tortured people who were terminally ill, and callously used their suffering to amass wealth.
All Christian movies go like this: "Hi I'm a Christian guy and I'm happy cuz I'm Christian" "I'm an atheist and I hate everything and I'm completely cynical" "Well I'm Christian and you are wrong mr.athiest guy" "Oh wow I am wrong and you are right I'm Christian now" The End
I am a Christian but I agree with you. Some Christain movies are not very smartly made and they should have a really good reason to persuade people to be Christans. Unlike this move which makes no sense at all. This movie is saying "This is good and this is bad" which a parent says to a new born. No one here is a new born.
Do you class the Da Vinci Code movies as Christian movies? I mean, it does go against a lot of the bible, but it's still heavily based on religion, and the first was actually pretty good!

"Next theyll say Hot Chocolate was invented by the druids" I mean, technically it was invented by the Aztecs, who were pagans. But the modern version with milk and sugar instead of red peppers is a European thing I'm p sure.
Indeed, chocolate was consumed as a drink by both the Aztecs and the Mayans. To add to this, supposedly the Aztec drink was served cold, but the Mayan version was not. The milk and sugar additives can also be considered partially of Mesoamerican origin too because they did add both vanilla and honey, which arguably does the same.
"No, you're all wrong" is always, ALWAYS, the wrong awnser. It not an argument, it's not a reason, it's not even an excuse. It's the definiotion of nietes, of "you don't agree with me so you're wrong" and it's the line that pushed this movie from bad as in a bad movie into bad as in evil.
I'm a Christian, and not at all offended. A Christian who can't "handle" someone saying something they don't like, needs to get a grip. And who the hell is Kirk Cameron? Never heard of him :)
Jahmir Callahan It's not. However, humans are indeed allowed to have their own opinions. This movie is offensive fanatic trash, and I find it personally offensive, being a Christian and all.
HeyBails 18 I’m not sure if you’ve heard of Ray Comfort but he is another religious extremist and Kirk and Ray have done multiple videos including the one that claims a banana is evidence for god but basically Kirk is a religious extremist sort of like “Answers In Genesis” that’s on tier with what he believes and there’s nothing wrong with that except for the fact that he forces it on to people as religious extremists too often do
The interesting thing about this movie is that it didn't even fly very well with Christians. Kirk's whole attempt to have his Christmas pudding and eat it too, by claiming that the proper way to celebrate Christ's birth is by buying the biggest presents and cooking with the richest butter is just...bizarre. Really, he's not attacking NON-Christians in this movie--he's attacking Christians who object to the commercialization of Christmas.
Yup. First he insults non-christians and normal, sociable christians by using the usual fundamentalist premise of "Christmas is our holiday and you should celebrate it the way we christians tell you to instead of how you want to" shit that we so often hear in America. Then he went on to insult his own evangelical base by telling them that yuletide commercialism is a good thing and they should embrace it. Basically, Kirk Cameron insulted everybody except the handful of dittoheads who love him no matter what he says or does.
I think one of the best Christian movies are ones from Veggietales. They used to slam religious tones in your face constantly at the start, personally I had no problem with it but it bothered other people. Then they started making movies that focused more on being a good and kind person while having more just religious undertones. That's the best way to make a Christian movie in my opinion.
@Hassan Syed Well the reason all the Christian movies are shit is because the people making them are only pandering to a large and uncontested demographic. Reason God's Not Dead (1st and 2nd) was shit was because they painted a false reality where everyone that is not Christian is evil and dumb shit. They can't make a realistic movie because it would only confuse the audience it is trying to pander to.
Wait! This movie has Gordon Freeman in it. It also has Kirk Cameron in it. Kirk Cameron is an alien. Half-life has both aliens and Gordon Freeman in it. Half-life 3 confirmed.
It has me wondering if this would have been more tolerable this would have been if it was a shitty family comedy where Kirk has to go on some mission to save Santa after being kidnapped. It probably wouldn't be as embarrassing and shameful as this.
I mean I'm only 20 so I can remember when I was a kid, the presents were the most important part. They're still a big part for me, giving and receiving so I don't think I would have been as hyped as a kid but I still think I'd have enjoyed it. The food and decorations are still cool.
@Abusive Dragunov I get your point but the idea of becoming nothing after you for stops being scary, at least for most people. In my opinion, Christianity is more about the prospect of God sending you to be tortured for eternity if you don't behave like how he wants you to.
"Arguing with a religious person about religion is a complete waste of time because they refuse to engage in logic, and that's how my brain works. My entire personality is based around reason and logic" Truer words have never been said.
Well i think science is a better way of proving how the universe started because you can prove science does stuff anytime whereas religion can't prove there is a god anytime, anywhere. No, it was never a pagan celebration. Christians used to celebrate Christmas on a very small scale (i.e go to church, reread the story of the birth of Jesus, etc). The modern day celebrations started in Germany, with Christmas eve dinners, Santa Claus, presents, etc.

There already was a movie about the true meaning of Christmas, and why it's so wonderful. Charlie Brown's Christmas. Besides being bad, this is completely pointless.
Pity that that still isn't the true meaning of Christmas as Jesus wasn't even born in December, if he was ever born at all. Christmas actually derives from Saturnalia (and Sol Invictus) during which Romans would: act as servants to their slaves, wear funny hats, get drunk and eat a lot, exchange gifts. So when people drink a lot, eat a lot and swap presents without talking about any jesus guy, they are actually the ones who are truly following the Christmas tradition :)
I don't think so mostly because I'm skeptical of your opinion of good movies or shows due to your picture and that movie kinda sucks it's just nostalgia of the kids movies and don't get me started of the true meaning of Christmas it's family not religion it's what it should be anyways, my favorite movie is one you can watch with family like national lampoons christmas
Satan, Santa. SAME LETTERS. OMG. Obviously this means that Santa is actually Satan. Which means he's actually not that bad of a guy.. I guess... If he brings all the kids of the world toys? What a nice guy, that Satan. I'm glad a Christian movie finally tells the truth about Satan. And aliens I guess.
Dog and God have the same letters, so you know what that means. We aren't keeping pets... we're unknowingly housing gods, and we give them sacrifices by giving them food. ALL HAIL FIDO GOD OF WAR AND DEATH.
I'm a Christian, and hearing that, this was pretty much my exact response I remember giving... "Santa... and Satan. Same letters!" *Confused silence* *Opens mouth to say something... then closes it* *Quiet defeated sigh* LOADS LMG WITH RELIGIOUS INTENT My faith in humanity is lost for the last time
In some interpretations, Satan is a servant of God. He is just very distrusting of humans and will make sure humans get charged as guilty, albeit sticking to being honest. That or Satan is pretty much an angel of God who manifests temptations to humans not to doom them but to test them if they are indeed faithful to God and are worthy of Heaven.
Religious movies are pretty bad most of the time and this seems like the crown jewel. The people who work on them aren't people willing to consider why religion is important or think about why they believe but just a bunch of people shouting "BELIEVE!" into an audience who isn't there because they aren't willing to give this movie the time of day
Only one Christian film I like and it's "Bruce Almighty" mainly because Atheists aren't antagonized in the film and also the fact it's just simply entertaining
This is the most offensive Christian propaganda that I have ever seen. I honestly think this is a good lesson on how NOT to make a Christian movie. If Veggietales can do it, you should be able to do it too. (Side note: this (Kirk Cameron) is how my pastor acted at my old church and it fucking annoyed me.)
Kirk's behavior is a perfect example of the cult personality. He no longer acts like a real human. He's now controlled by his cult rewiring, which causes him to act hyper-happy all the time.
I am a Christian. I have seen a lot of these Christian movies. About 98% are garbage. I have seen maybe 2 good Christian movies in my life, and one isn't even a Christian movie really (Amazing Grace with Iaon Grufford). Most are just feel good movies that pander to the specific audience instead of trying to actually have a message that speaks to non-believers. I hope you one day do the movie "God's not Dead". I saw that one Easter in theaters with my whole family (were all Christian) and we all walked out of that movie thinking and saying "What a dumb movie". There's no subtlety to Christian films. I almost want to try to make one because I know what pitfalls to avoid.
James Muir I think a lot of it is because it's focused on heavy handed preaching. What's interesting is that many good movies have Christian themes simply because their creators have a Christian background.
This happen to most religious movie in general Since they are preacher, not movie Maker, and professional movie Maker usual avoid such troublesome subject The only religious related movie that I find good is (I forgot the title) There's this one Indian movie about a Muslim guy that has a some mental problem since birth, and this movie talk about discrimination and such in a good and realistic way
It's a wonderful life is a great christian movie honestly. Same with the green mile. Because they can stand on their own without the preaching. They're great movies on their own, without the message.
Assuming that 'The Green Mile' is part of the Stephen King shared universe, then the 'god' in that movie is probably the creator god Gan, who in universe may have used Jesus as a conduit.
Religiously speaking, I wouldn't say that IaWL is THAT good, considering that it partially lifted the guardian angel thing from Thelema, and Thelema's (possibly schizophrenic) founder was very antichristian. It's a less extreme version of the very false post-Descartes Christian teaching that humans are the only living things, which came from Cartesian philosophy. The very fact that Descartes was a zoosadist proved that he was lying about only humans being alive.
As a christian, I have not even seen this movie, for several reasons. I personally am sick and tired of The kinds of movies that are coming out from the christian communities now days. I loved the movie "I can Only Imagine" because it was simply a true story and it was wonderfully made, but the God's Not Dead movies make me mad. They are so insensitive to non-religious people or people of other religions, and they really are just christian propaganda. I respect your opinions on religion, even if I heavily disagree, and I think that's how we should all be acting. Anyway, I grew up in a house where my family stopped celebrating Christmas when I was 8, and I have since "come around" so to speak (I am in my 20s), and even though I disagree with my parents reasoning, not only do I have a new appreciation of anyone who makes the decision not to celebrate Christmas, I also firmly believe that it totally subjective, and is definitely not central to anyone;s faith, or at least shouldn't be. So even though I disagree with you on religion in general, This video speaks truth, and the opinions of non Christians should be one of the most important aspects of how we make our Christian Movies, because otherwise they are simply propaganda and feel good movies for Christian's only, and that is just really sad.
Isaac Holzwarth Damn straight. Where Spielberg's take on the ministry of Christ? Scorsese's tale of redemption with St. Paul? Ridley Scott's version of Exod... oh, wait.
Right. In Biblical terms, don't preach to the choir. Though as I say that I realise speaking in Christianese, as I call it, is one of the reasons Christian music doesn't appeal to a lot of people. I really had to dig to find Christian rock that I liked when I was a kid.
As a Christian, it disgusts me how much crap is given a pass just because some hack slaps a cross on it and calls it 'Christian Art'. Thanks for knocking this pile of garbage down a peg.
+R. Downgrade I respect all religions as I'm a huge fan of mythology, so I can admit that I enjoy religions for the stories and the values they try to convey. On that note, I'd equally hate a movie that was, for example, really crappy and just trying to pander to Whovians (Doctor Who fans) as much as I'd hate a movie that was really crappy made for the sake of pandering to Christians.
Io Every religion in history was once a "current" religion, some of those were even major religions, as you call it. I'm not saying you're wrong, but ya gotta admit that the Egyptian gods were once pretty popular in their day.
As a [casual] Christian myself, this movie and people that genuinely follow its beliefs is extremely insulting, rather offensive and pretty much just silencing truth to be told? -(there's a belief I follow that pairs both logic/science and the existence of a divine entity, such as God for example. Say, there's the entity or entities, the belief involves the creation of the various physics, natural cycles, and so on, by said entity. Specifically, the thing of God creating the universe, but doing so in a way that it can function without his direct intervention.)- Gotta love how [these types of] Christians are, at the very least the ones in mainstream media, and ridiculous widespread IRL, (maybe it's because I live in the "bible belt" of America, so to speak. Who knows.) are almost always circle jerking blatant misinterpretations of a fucking book so as to justify a "legitimate" (subjectively, of course.) reason to press the bigoted beliefs presented in this film, though, amirite?
the publicity is from being insane. they completely are missing the point of Christianity (Jesus said to love everyone and they are basically doing non-christian hate speech).
Yeah, it was actually a royal drink and it was boiled with water and mixed with dried hot chilis. That combination releases serotonin and induces the feeling of elation. Usually only kings and high religious officials drank it. Spaniards brought it over because of its unique taste and mind-altering properties. So yeah, hot chocolate actually has nothing to do with Christmas lol.
+Emily Caldecott They don't have the same strategic advantage as summoners, when comparing the class promotion of a shaman. (sorry for hard to get reference)
+Emily Caldecott Because lots of Christians kind of get angry whenever another religion is remotely present in their life. There's really nothing wrong with druids, any more than there is with Christians... They're just two ways of life. They really shouldn't have any reason to get mad with each other, but whatever... Humans.
The title would have really tricked me: „Putting the Christ back in Christmas“ really sounds like this is a Movie about backing off from the stupid, commercialized cornucopia it has become in the western world. People celebrate Christmas for the sake of consumerism these days and I do understand real Christians being somewhat annoyed by what their most important day of the year has become. This however, just propels the stupid commercialism even more.
+Dewayne C Because Kirk Cameron isn't willing to believe that Christmas (which was created to commemorate the Birth of Christ) has been twisted and warped over the centuries. Saint Nick was a real guy, and the fact that we dismiss a great Christian man and replace him with a magic man is kinda offensive to a degree. It's like taking MLK jr. and turning him into a magic man, it doesn't sound right then does it?
funny thing is the only reason why we have Christmas was because the Roman Catholic Church needed a way to gain new followers because they lost a lot of followers to the protestant church and they wanted to party. so the Pope stole Saturnalia and gave the people a reason to party with the excuse of celebrating the birth of Jesus
Wrong, it was converting for converting the Germanic pagans, so they took a traditional Germanic holiday and Christianized it so it slowly lost it's pagan meaning in the minds of the people. The Protestant Reformation came awhile later.
Aitche Arrete I learned it as, “They took Christmas from Saturnalia (the Roman holiday celebrating the farming god Saturn) which in turn was taken the pagan holiday Yule.”
I saw this video and honestly, as an atheist, it’s infuriating seeing these scenes in movies yelling at me that, “I’M WRONG” for questioning a religion that’s forced into my face. I ask questions respectfully and don’t try to force others not to believe, and yet this stuff gets thrown at me every second.
*As a Christian, I agree that the message was indeed appallingly put across.* A better example of a "saving Christmas" Christian video would be Veggie Tales' The Toy That Saved Christmas. Although for a younger audience, the premise is these kids who all want the newfangled toy (basically consumerist selfish 'I wanna') then a sentient version of the toy itself demonstrating that kindness and generosity are better for Christmas, which includes forgiving and saving the life of the villain who was marketing the toys in the first place. See? Actual story with meaning.
Roundabout He was a teenage star in an 80s sitcom then he turned into a sad little man that makes films that make us Christians seem boring yet overly peppy
#Roundabout I know he was a former child star, but only because people keep mentioning it. I know him primarily as Ray Comfort's sidekick. Ray Comfort is a Christian apologist and evolution denier who, as far as I know, spends time coming up with ways to sell books and movies to Christians to show them atheists being defeated and/or teach them how to defeat atheists. Note, he's not actually capable of these things, but he only has to convince a potential buyer that he is. And again, as the sidekick, Kirk Cameron pretty much just tags along and contributes nothing.
Sure is I am a Christian, and I watched it and after that Like Alex said, I had a great deal more respect for other religions, and the movie isn't even about that!!
I am one of them! My reasoning is that Jesus never A) told us to celebrate it B) even stated his birthday in the bible. When Jesus wanted us to celebrate something, he made sure the date would be in the bible, which is what he did with the passover. December 25 isn't in the bible There's also the fact that Christmas as it is known today is far more based on a pagan festival than anything to do with Jesus, which is why it is celebrated on the 25th. That's the date of the old festival. It's more likely that Jesus was born in a warmer time of year because the shepherds were sleeping outside. Celebrate Christmas if you want, I don't care, just wanted to justify it a little
Alana Draws Jesus Christ was most likely born somewhere between August-September because of the Roman Census that was going on at the time. They usually didn’t have censuses during winter.
The Crazy Writer I'm also a Christian too and agreed. And I found the worst one on Netflix. It's called David and Goliath. I don't recommend you and anyone to watch it.
Too true mate... I've read through the Bible, and God's never really been about religion. It's usually just people adding rules and elite social cliques to make themselves more important. Half the time in the Old Testament God's calling people out for making stuff a religion, rather than just walking with him and having a good heart. Kinda sad watching stuff like this nowadays. Random story if you're interested. There were only two accounts in the Bible of God personally taking people out of the world early to be with him in paradise. The first was just this everyday guy called Enoch or something, right back near the beginning of humanity... before anything religious even existed. Before any of the rules of holier-than-thou stuff. All that's said about him is that he walked so closely with God, and God was so pleased with how he lived his life and treated the world and people around him, that one day in his old age God personally took him up to be with him. Religion's never really important to God... it's the heart behind the actions.
@@tomgeytenbeek2207 in my opinion this is a pretty nuanced and well thought out view of religion. In Buddhism theres a saying that encapsulates a similar idea, "If you see the Buddha on the path to enlightenment, kill him". Its all about not getting wrapped up in the idea of religion, but instead follow what is good and that will become religion. Its pretty sad how most "religious" people dont really care about being good first, they care about following their surface level conception of what they and their immediate peers consider "their religion". So we end up with convoluted, self serving set of rules and ideals that most "Christians" follow, instead of them always striving to do good and to constantly challenge their conceptions of what good is and how to do better. Telling people that I'm a Christian ends up with them assuming a lot of things about my beliefs, when really I think I have more in common with atheists than people who call themselves "Christians"
As a Christian I am very upset.... at the lack of actually good Christian movies. 99% of them are so concerned with trying to convey a Christian message that they forget about the whole movie part of the movie. Boring story lines, plastic characters, bad filming techniques and editing are the norm even in the ones with high budgets. Hopefully there will be a good one some day.
What i was referring to was the people who get offended when you ask about the religion. It was bad on my part on saying sufficient, in fact i agreed with a lot of what you said. What I should've said was that a religion should be able to be tested and proven. For example, being able to prove there was documentation of Jesus being nailed to the cross and being buried. The romans kept good records of that stuff. In fact i can't remember what i meant but I would like to apologize and thank you for calling me out(not being salty im being sincere)

I love that Christians in the comments are just explaining how they hate it too. if only good ol Kirk Cameron could see this
I love it too. People can have freedom of thought. That is normal. It is ok.

Kirk Cameron is an alien.
Gordon Freeman fights alien invaders.
Kirk Cameron then convinces Gordon Freeman to blindly follow him.
Now Gordon Freeman no longer fights aliens.
Thus, Half Life 3 was stopped by Kirk Cameron.

The reason why we don't have Half Life 3 is because Gordon is busy dancing on some Christian's floorboard.

There's the Christian argument of "faith isn't logical or rational so you can't apply it to God" blown out the water.
problem is. "God dun it because bible" is considered a logical defense by the standards of religious followers
Book = FACT
Every Christians arguement
How dID tHe bIbLE GEt wRittEn?!
How did Harry Potter get written?
the bible also says not to pray in public because then you're just showing off but EVERY christian ignores that one
Do people who use the santa=satan claim not realize that Santa literally means saint?

All Christian movies go like this:
"Hi I'm a Christian guy and I'm happy cuz I'm Christian"
"I'm an atheist and I hate everything and I'm completely cynical"
"Well I'm Christian and you are wrong mr.athiest guy"
"Oh wow I am wrong and you are right I'm Christian now"
The End
Zech Evans you forgot the part where one of the atheists die
Sadly yes...why is it that only the passion of the Christ and Risen are the only Christian films that work?
Pretty much
I am a Christian but I agree with you.

"Next theyll say Hot Chocolate was invented by the druids"
I mean, technically it was invented by the Aztecs, who were pagans. But the modern version with milk and sugar instead of red peppers is a European thing I'm p sure.
I thought the Aztecs had their own religion? Pagans were European no?
@@astrotrek3534 Pagans are defined as any polytheistic faith iirc.
More importantly…who cares if hot chocolate was invented by druids or pagans or whatever. Because, in what way would that hinder your faith in Christ?

"No, you're all wrong" is always, ALWAYS, the wrong awnser. It not an argument, it's not a reason, it's not even an excuse. It's the definiotion of nietes, of "you don't agree with me so you're wrong" and it's the line that pushed this movie from bad as in a bad movie into bad as in evil.
Ulkreghz Draugr then again saying "you're wrong" and not backing up why it's factually wrong is the real issue.

Cameron Part 6
Kirkdemic
The interesting thing about this movie is that it didn't even fly very well with Christians. Kirk's whole attempt to have his Christmas pudding and eat it too, by claiming that the proper way to celebrate Christ's birth is by buying the biggest presents and cooking with the richest butter is just...bizarre. Really, he's not attacking NON-Christians in this movie--he's attacking Christians who object to the commercialization of Christmas.
...and what's up with his empty mug of "hot chocolate?" I mean, would an actual cup of Swiss Miss have put the movie over budget?
+brpierce It's because aliens are allergic to hot chocolate.
+brpierce u know main reason he made it is, Mr.Kirk Cameron became a born again Christian, why movie so Pig headed, and stupid.

@Hassan Syed Ahem... Prince of Egypt.
Only old veggietales, new veggietales sucks
@Hassan Syed Well the reason all the Christian movies are shit is because the people making them are only pandering to a large and uncontested demographic. Reason God's Not Dead (1st and 2nd) was shit was because they painted a false reality where everyone that is not Christian is evil and dumb shit.
They can't make a realistic movie because it would only confuse the audience it is trying to pander to.
Crab Apple Agreed.

No, it was never a pagan celebration. Christians used to celebrate Christmas on a very small scale (i.e go to church, reread the story of the birth of Jesus, etc). The modern day celebrations started in Germany, with Christmas eve dinners, Santa Claus, presents, etc.

It's obvious that the amazing bulk is the only. And I mean only best Christmas movie.
Yup I love that.

LOADS LMG WITH RELIGIOUS INTENT My faith in humanity is lost for the last time
In some interpretations, Satan is a servant of God.

The people who work on them aren't people willing to consider why religion is important or think about why they believe but just a bunch of people shouting "BELIEVE!" into an audience who isn't there because they aren't willing to give this movie the time of day
Ten Commandments with Charlton Heston is practically the only good religious movie.
Jake Bryant
Yeah and the animated movie "The Prince of Egypt" if you count that as a religious film.
I would interject and say Jesus Christ Superstar, but that was open to interpretation, which is how all religious films should be.
Only one Christian film I like and it's "Bruce Almighty" mainly because Atheists aren't antagonized in the film and also the fact it's just simply entertaining
The Book of Eli was pretty good. It was a religious film
Hope you got a better one lol
Kirk's behavior is a perfect example of the cult personality. He no longer acts like a real human. He's now controlled by his cult rewiring, which causes him to act hyper-happy all the time.
clearly you haven't seen god's not dead
Kirk Cameron worships the devil
This happen to most religious movie in general
Since they are preacher, not movie Maker, and professional movie Maker usual avoid such troublesome subject
The only religious related movie that I find good is (I forgot the title) There's this one Indian movie about a Muslim guy that has a some mental problem since birth, and this movie talk about discrimination and such in a good and realistic way
It's a wonderful life is a great christian movie honestly.
Paul? Ridley Scott's version of Exod... oh, wait.
I'm not a religious person but the movie "I Can Only Imagine" I appreciated as it hit me a certain way. This movie just pissed me off.
Isaac Holzwarth, why did your family stopped celebrating Christmas when you were growing up? Did they become Jehovah's Witnesses?
Very well said, thanks for your input brother.
Right. In Biblical terms, don't preach to the choir. Though as I say that I realise speaking in Christianese, as I call it, is one of the reasons Christian music doesn't appeal to a lot of people. I really had to dig to find Christian rock that I liked when I was a kid.

Casper The Ghost How could you?!?
As a Christian, it disgusts me how much crap is given a pass just because some hack slaps a cross on it and calls it 'Christian Art'. Thanks for knocking this pile of garbage down a peg.
+R. Downgrade I respect all religions as I'm a huge fan of mythology, so I can admit that I enjoy religions for the stories and the values they try to convey. On that note, I'd equally hate a movie that was, for example, really crappy and just trying to pander to Whovians (Doctor Who fans) as much as I'd hate a movie that was really crappy made for the sake of pandering to Christians.
ikr
+Hytura Being a fan of mythology is slightly different than being interested in current major world world religions.
I agree with the original comment
Specifically, the thing of God creating the universe, but doing so in a way that it can function without his direct intervention.)-
Gotta love how [these types of] Christians are, at the very least the ones in mainstream media, and ridiculous widespread IRL, (maybe it's because I live in the "bible belt" of America, so to speak.
Soyuz _ yep.
benignProtagonist yeah this movie is so insulting
benignProtagonist o
Kind of the real reason why Atheism exist. Doing the opposite of whoever started the religion actually wanted you to do, am right?
Kirk Cameron hunts down the freeman
And the movie is about as good as the game.
Wouldn't the Aztecs have invented hot chocolate?
Yeah, it was actually a royal drink and it was boiled with water and mixed with dried hot chilis. That combination releases serotonin and induces the feeling of elation. Usually only kings and high religious officials drank it. Spaniards brought it over because of its unique taste and mind-altering properties. So yeah, hot chocolate actually has nothing to do with Christmas lol.
+Emily Caldecott They don't have the same strategic advantage as summoners, when comparing the class promotion of a shaman. (sorry for hard to get reference)
+Libra Riviera Reference game on point
Fire Emblem Sacred Stones

+Emily Caldecott Because lots of Christians kind of get angry whenever another religion is remotely present in their life. There's really nothing wrong with druids, any more than there is with Christians... They're just two ways of life. They really shouldn't have any reason to get mad with each other, but whatever... Humans.
Santa, Satan. Same letters. *MIND BLOWN*

this movie is so dumb
He sees you when you're sleeping.
He knows when you're awake.
He sucks the souls out of bad kids, so be good for goodness sake.
God is dog spelled backwards. So... Gordon Freeman, should i leave christianity?
Illuminati Confirmed.
Was this the same movie that got ratings so terrible that Kirk himself told his fans to upvote the movie?
yep, and the amazing atheist countered him and told all his fans to down vote it.
Ah yes
+RanterInShades Seriously?
Wow, Kirk is a piece of shit.
+Dillon Rebel I think that was going to happen anyway, regardless of the amazing atheist
+The Real Mr Robot most likely that movie sucks ass. I just thought I'd throw that out there.
Correction: second most important day. The most important day for Christians is the Easter. But yeah, I agree with you.
i feel like another copyright fight is going to happen since kirk cameron hates all negative reviews.
+maxinator317 My popcorn is ready, let's watch Dereck Savage 2.0 and his partner, Gordon Freeman, do some shit

I'm a Christian, but I agree that Christmas is really over-commercialized and stupid at this point
Arctodus and it was a pagan holiday that Christians shoved Jesus into, and was actually a drunken rampage and was banned in America for a while

I never got how Christianity and consumerist capitalism went hand in hand, I guess cause America?
MURICA!!!!!
Unix One Can't be a very good christian then can he lol.
Dewayne C Well, he can, but not with the way he acts.
+Dewayne C
the Russians kind of celebrate christmas (only in there it's New Years EVE) and even they have their version of Santa Claus.
funny thing is the only reason why we have Christmas was because the Roman Catholic Church needed a way to gain new followers because they lost a lot of followers to the protestant church and they wanted to party. so the Pope stole Saturnalia and gave the people a reason to party with the excuse of celebrating the birth of Jesus
Nega Mainyuu I think that coopting Saturnalia was slightly earlier actually, during the Christian Rome period
It was.
Wrong, it was converting for converting the Germanic pagans, so they took a traditional Germanic holiday and Christianized it so it slowly lost it's pagan meaning in the minds of the people. The Protestant Reformation came awhile later.
They used Saturnalia to do it.
Christians think atheists and non-theists go into a church and scream "This is all bollocks!"
Joshua Smale most of us dont, its just one of those scenarios where its the loud minority of people like this bloke who make us look like lunatics
Even as a non-religious person I always loved Veggie Tales.
Pc Genie veggie tales was the best
Saccharine as hell though 😕
I think Star Wars is a great religious film.
Yeah it really opened me up to "the force" and gave me a new found respect for it.
Best religious film: Monty Python & The Holy Grail
you havent seen Indiana Jones then, best religious movie franchise
+The Thinkers "Why not Life of Brian", or "The Meaning of Life"?
What about The Hobbit?
I'm christian.
Who the fuck is Kirk Cameron?
Roundabout same
He's an alien who acts in wholesome Christian movies and alway happens to sell coffee
k cool
What if told you...

I watch too many RUclips poops... at 13:51 I expected him to say "It's SuS"
I have the same problem.
A great American hero!! My SuS!! ( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°)
Life of Pi is a damn good movie!
meh, it looked good i guess, but i found it kinda boring tbh.
Sure is I am a Christian, and I watched it and after that Like Alex said, I had a great deal more respect for other religions, and the movie isn't even about that!!
Liked the visuals but thought it was boring
lenny pepperbottom are you implying that he said it's bad?... because he didn't.
It's an awesome story. Quite visceral.
I’m a Christian and Kirk Cameron makes my skin crawl.
I know Christians who refuse to celebrate Christmas because they think Jesus doesn't want them to...
They're just jealous because Jesus didn't invite them to his birthday party, btw he makes the most awesome water!
Ben Knight and bread, don't forget bread! If you forget, he won't have a bread to copy :/
I am one of them! My reasoning is that Jesus never
A) told us to celebrate it
B) even stated his birthday in the bible. When Jesus wanted us to celebrate something, he made sure the date would be in the bible, which is what he did with the passover. December 25 isn't in the bible
There's also the fact that Christmas as it is known today is far more based on a pagan festival than anything to do with Jesus, which is why it is celebrated on the 25th.
You know, I'm a Christian and I agree with you IHE
The Crazy Writer ........
The Crazy Writer yeah this "movie" looks dumb
Wha?
The Crazy Writer I'm also a Christian too and agreed. And I found the worst one on Netflix. It's called David and Goliath. I don't recommend you and anyone to watch it.
Same
I don't think Kirk Cameron's weird belief system is actually Christianity any more. It's more of a cult than anything else...
"If one could reason with religious people, there wouldn't be religious people."
-God
@@Xvladin Yeah... People, for the most part, seem determined to mess the world up one way or another, hey? It's pretty frustrating and sad to watch :/
As a atheïst i get paid by satan.
Why even bother making a christian movie...a movie can convince a good message without having to focused on christianity
+This is OG Pray More Homie There is a lot of good christian movies out there. You need to find a site that point these movies out.
+slayertakim1 People are free to make movies about anything that they want.
+This is OG Pray More Homie Your religion sucks.
I am Christian, and I actually agree with what you say about the movie. It also makes me mad too.
ya same I agree with you, if you can't challenge your religion then you don't have a sufficient religion
