Nafi Napkin it's actually really hard to make a full length 3d animation. Definitely for the writing but 3d animation is very labor intensive. I guess if there are enough people working on it it wouldn't be that hard.
Fun story. When I was 10 I went to this afterschool church club. Once at this club they attempted to show us a cars life to explain to us that we should always listen to our parents or some shit like that. It wouldn't play. God himself would not let this abomination play in his house.
Also fun fact about Sarila/Frozen land, it was the first 3d animated movie to be made in Canada and was supposed to be a love letter to Inuit culture and folklore, with its depiction of the sea goddess Sedna. The people who made it clearly cared about their work (even though it was boring) but they were screwed over by their distributors.

It looks like it WAS meant as a teaching aid...notice how it's real name "fantastical tales from around the world" and the intro starts with actually giving a brief history lesson on the tale. Its literally just a 'young childs introduction to literature' guide that a teacher could play as a class supplement where they'd watch the video, discuss the tale and then next week move onto another tale from a different part of the world.
