This is the biggest guard mistake most players overlook, glad you mentioned this

Ahaha! Dunno if I was part of the inspiration this series came to light but it's great nonetheless!
Nice tip, should help a ton of people. I also see it all the time tbh: guard guard guard... huh whoops I guess I can't guard now... takes and heals and now can't do shit cuz he spent all his hand
Another thing that happens often and is related: Guys, check if you can really 2-to-pass... a ton of people 2-to-pass on instinct only to realize that the only way they survive is if the opponent doesn't hit a trigger.
Often in Vanguard the best play is to play for the lucky situation

Actually more often than not in my locals it's the opposite that happens, sometimes people automatically 2 to pass the vg but they have extra shields in hand to survive and to kill them next turn. Suddenly the opponent got a first trigger and put it on their vg and drives checks a second one and the attack goes through even though you have enough shields in hand to no pass.

Of course, it's always better to no guard if you don't have the amount of shield. But, it really depends on the attack itself. For example if you were up against a gurguit deck ( before banlist ) and you saw their first attacks are about 17k and attack with their vanguard for 35k and call cards that can hit for 34k with aglovale or more. You don't have enough to guard but you have intercepts and 5k shields in hand. For me, I think it's better to guard small attacks, then take the big swings later on, because even though you got a damage trigger, you have to spend extra cards on the big swings if you were to survive. So It really depends

As a returning player for overDress, I feel so dumb! I always went with a take two damage then guard with all I have in the early game. Never really thought about what to do next, only to survive for next turn, only to find out I can’t even swing enough next turn. Sound advice!

One should spend the extra 30 seconds to count how many Heal cards are already in the drop zone, hand and damage zone.
If you found all four Heals not in your deck, you know you will lose the game.

    Damage triggers are money.

If you are making this into a series, since people are getting more interest into premium, you should do some videos catered to that like grade 2 gaming and damage denying.

    This problem is relative.
