Hey Iain, great haul. But really hope you sent those two sets back. Yes, you got them for a great price but they didn’t tell you they were going to be damaged.
Thanks for watching. In the end i decided to keep them. Just been a bit busy this week and apparently getting through Asda customer service is a nightmare
Hi Iain, Have had the same experience with my purchase of the Sanctum Sanctorum from George at ASDA & still undecided on returning them. The price on the set was really good, but I’m not sure as I had purchased them for resale. I think I’ll keep my mine but still not decided
Hi Iain, in my humble opinion, send back the ASDA packages. The only way they will learn to do their job better is when a spreadsheet report highlights returns rate increasing. Even better if you have option to state why you are returning, e.g. damaged boxes, inadequate packaging.
The large scale of asda operations, they won't care. Just like argos. It's a decent discount so I would keep them. But I have to say the second box sounded like a lot of loose bricks could be someone who bought it, took out minifigurrs, then resealed it, and took it back for a refund. Asda wouldn't check and just put it back in stock.
I keep a list of shops that ship items poorly packaged ... they often have good prices, but will only buy single sets from them that I know come in those ready to ship lego boxes. Always a hassle to return stuff, might aswell keep it and sell it on with a small(er) profit and make some kid happy. Also, I have this thing that whenever a set goes on sale at lego with a discount, I no longer want to invest in it LOL but that's just me.
I purchased the same sets to get the space babies promos too. I think that was probably the last best chance to create a discount this year on certain sets (I picked up the NES and Sanctum too for that promo). Ended up with 19 or 20 space baby sets.
Awesome haul!, I’m the same way when it comes to the box condition… I have contacted retailers and Lego also when I get a bad box… and they gave me another discount … you may want to try that… like the John Deere ! Good deal $$$$
I had that with that Marvel box at Christmas - Very had a great deal on them, I ordered three and all three were in such a bad state that I had to return them, a real shame.
Hi Iain, great video. I bought a duplo set from Asda during the sale, was horrified to see it come in a bag, thankfully the box condition was fine, same couldn’t be said for an order I just received from Very. They sent over £300 of Lego in 2 huge plastic bags, one of the boxes was pretty bad, however majority of what I had bought was for building or gifting so I will keep it. Hopefully companies will learn soon that outer shipping boxes are the way to go, both for protection and sustainability.
I had a similar situation with Asda click & collect although, out of 6 items ordered, the 2 sanctums were the only sets that didn't have box damage! I decided to keep the 4 damaged items (similar damage to yours) as they were slightly cheaper sets and the 33% discount helped to soften the disappointment.
@@iainsbricks I had another online order collection from Asda today (nice discount on the John Deere tractors) and hooray... they arrived in boxes. There's hope for Asda / George yet! I also had a quick peek at the clearance shelves while I was there and found a nice stash of 332nd battle packs and Boba Fett Microfighters all at 50% discount... #armsweep I should have bought a lottery ticket as well with this much luck! 🤣
Evening mate!! Nice evening haul to watch after a busy day … cheers!! Personally, I’d return them … I really don’t know why these companies send items in bags and not expect returns!! 😳 Roll on next video!! 👍
Funny you should mention Costco. I have a online account and the first massive saving I got was the Sanctum. At the time they were the only ones discounting it. John Lewis and Smyths toys weren't even close. Then I got a massive saving on the technic Bugatti Chiron. Recently I got the City car transporter for £70. They are currently offering decent discounts on a number of the latest City and Star Wars lines. I'm seriously tempted to go for the new mobile construction crane that they have for £75. I would send those back though, especially considering that you need to sell them at some point.
Hello Iain, I'm like you, I don't like having damaged boxes. When I see a Lego box arrive without perfect packaging I am always afraid when unpacking... and it is often damaged!!
We have a online company here in the Netherlands who mainly sells clothes etc but they also sell Lego. The problem is that they sent their Lego in the same way as they sent clothes, in plastic bags. I don't order from them anymore because of that. I really don't get it neither, in this time where all company's try to reduce the amount of plastic, they still don't sent it in boxes. Plus they must get many complaints about the damaged Legoboxes because of it so i just don't get why they continue doing so.
Space babies are great for making your orders work out cheaper after the sale of them. I sold one on FB Marketplace for £45 earlier in the year, plus 2 or 3 on eBay as those bad boys are well sought after. Great deal on the Skidder, I also have 3 from when they were £110 on Amazon / Smyths Toys earlier in the year. The Sanctum was down to £143 from Smyths in June, and the box condition ordering from Smyths was really good 👍🏼

Hi Joseph. Yes, I've been in 2 minds on what to do as well. I've had them over a week and a half now so I will probably just keep them now.

I Paul. I'm at work today but will try and contact them either later today or tomorrow. Hopefully a discount, replacement or refund

Hello Ian,
I’m out the game now (stopped the beginning of 2024) will be checking in once in a while 👍
No problem. Thanks for watching. Did you manage to sell the Lego you had?

I used Very once. NEVER AGAIN!!!!!!
Great video Iain. Shame about the box conditions, I buy to build but I always try to get perfect boxes.
Thanks Wayne. Yes, very disappointing from Asda.

It is disappointing from these big companies. Hopefully the more people complain and send things back , rather more they will get the message.
I love the accent! 😁
Thanks. It's just how I talk.
Great enjoable video Iain 🎉🎉🎉 more space babies 👶 ❤
Thanks Jai. Yes, I couldn't resist
I would return the sets. Best way to voice your unhappiness is to vote with your feet

If Costco sold Lego more regularly, I maybe tempted to join.
I would send them back unless they offer you another 10% of. Great haul and great tip with Ninjago..
Thanks. I may send George an email to see if I can get more money off.
Nice haul Iain 😄
Thank you.
Great prices from Asda, but packaging terrible. I would have done less damage had I stamped on it myself. Returned my purchases.
Yes, very good prices, but disappointed to see them arrive in a plastic bag.
Delivered in a plastic bag for such a large heavy set! A lot of damage on those sanctums, they would both be going back if I had ordered them
