- This is a follow up on my first VLOG on cabin crew qualifications. Here I explained the qualifications for our cabin crew aspirants to better understand them.

HI! I am Leonides "Nides" V. Peña. I was a cabin crew for 27 years. I joined the airline in 1987 and have enjoyed a life of serving people since. I was promoted to Cabin Services Manager in 2014 and became the Asst. Vice President/Director of Inflight Services & Training Department in 2015. One of my tasks as the head of the department is to interview applicants for FA position. It breaks my heart whenever an applicant fails the hiring process, especially when the aspirant has potential but was not "prepared" or ill advised on the "do's and don'ts" of cabin crew application.
I hope I can somehow level the playing field by mentoring aspirants, especially those who I sense are cut out for the job, but need some "fine tuning".
In this channel, I aim to mentor FA aspirants so they can achieve their dream. Guide them so they can have a fulfilling career in the airline - spiritually, physically, emotionally and financially.
For me, being a cabin crew is a noble and fulfilling job. I actually consider it as one of the best jobs in the world. And if I will be given a second chance to live my life over, I will still choose to be a cabin crew.

Thank you so much sir for puting clarifications about sa height na dapat minimum of 5'3" lang sa Females kasi may FA nag post ng vlog nakapasa siya kahit 5'1" hindi dapat ishare yung ganun po dahil its confidential masisira yung company requirements baka hindi sundan ng ibang applicants in the future ang minimum of 5'3" dahil merong FA nagpost na nakasok siya kahit 5'1" siya.

You may wear contact lenses. If our Medical Team finds that you need to undergo Lasik procedure, they will advise. But don't spend for the procedure unless you have passed the hiring process. I don't want you to spend unnecessarily if the company will not hire you.

OK lang yan. You have enough time. All airlines are not hiring at the moment because of the pandemic. This may take 6 months or more. Take this time to work on your weaknesses.

Philippine Airlines must modify their physical requirements for their applicants since most of middle eastern airlines just do reach test. Yet, you all have the same aircrafts.

Moles on the face are OK as long as they are not distracting. I actually have a mole on the side of my nose.

Our minimum height requirement for men is 5'6".

Hi Carlo Franco! How minimal is minimal? We are quite strict with color blindness. I suggest you let our Medical Team assess your eyes. Malay mo pasado naman pala. You may download Ishihara Test for color deficiency from Google and do the test for FREE.

I'd like to humbly ask regarding the height requirement for the gentlemen, since the minimum for PAL and PALex is 5'6 yet Iv read a lot of complains-comments *facebook pages, tiktok, groupchats* that they are at least 5'6" why during the height and weight screening the height is being deducted by 1? I hope you find interesting about my question. Thank you sir. 😇🤗
