    I'm honestly impressed that the vampiric bite is so balanced the healing falls off immediately after Level 5 or 6 but the attack bonus is so powerful which is probably why the restrictions are there tieing the damage and attack rolls to constitution and piercing damage specifically keeps the attack bonus in check but it comes at the cost of making the healing completely useless really quick
    Edited: also imagine a big intimidating paladin covered head to toe with heavy armor walking upside down on the ceiling that sounds so scary to see i also didn't think about the monk before watching this in regards of the bite feature

      I really like the idea of the way of the long death dhampir. The temp hp from defeating enemies, the bite attack, it all feels very cohesive to me.

    • @Klaital1
      @Klaital1 7 месяцев назад +2

      Free healing is never useless. And there are also ways to buff that damage, and thus healing, anything that increases the piercing damage dealt also increases the healing, like hunter's mark for example. But the real nice thing is the buff to checks you can get from the ability also, +5 or more to an ability check is quite substantial at any level.

    I love the Dhampir race. I first time I ever learned about Dhampirs were from Vampire Hunter D which still to this day is one of my favorite anime lol

      I remember watching Vampire hunter D. That was a great anime. You do get alot of feel for that kind of a character. The heroic Vampire. It works really well.

    Artificer Dhampir can be used to make a techy Spider-man. You could always use the spells Spider Climb and Web, but they're both Concentration Spells so you could only hold onto one of them. Instead of blood and raw meat, you could eat math equations or kicking ass for breakfast. Reflavor a little.

      Tech Spider-Man is a cool concept. And it kinda fits, Spider-Man is a technological genius.

      @@TheSinisterheroes I actually started DMing during the pandemic and I was a player back in my late teens to mid twenties. Now that I’m in my mid thirties it will be good to be a player again. I will be playing a simic hybrid wild magic barbarian that was an elven scientist that volunteered for an experiment that would enhance their strength but it also changed their dna giving them the appearance of a sea creature.

      @TheSinisterheroes OH! I can't believe I didn't see that! I just watched. So great. I played a reborn warlock and they can be pretty insane combo. Especially if you use pact of the tome and summon a horse. Plus, use the dream spell every chance you get. It's nuts

    My character for my group’s new campaign is gonna be a Dhampir Hexblade Warlock
    I’m very much looking forward to climbing onto a ceiling and spamming Eldritch Blast lmao
    Also I could rack up a decent amount of regained HP if I kill someone affected by my Hexblade’s Curse with my Vampiric Bite
    Because if someone dies to my curse I get HP back equal to my Warlock level + my Charisma mod and of course my bite regains HP
    So boom
    Not really any need for healing potions lol

    I recently created a Dhampir echo knight Named Link Exodius and chose the knight background with his back story being that he’s A Cursed Wandering Knight who was once The Heir To House Exodius, a family of high nobility known for producing Highly Skilled Magic Knights until The war With a Vampire Lord, they Managed to Win and defeat the vampire lord however with House Exodius being the only type line of defense at the time, the war left House Exodius Nearly Obliterated with only Link and His attendant being the only survivors, the vampire lord managed to bite link as a last ditch effort and cursed him for the rest of his life.

    Honestly, best healing you can get out of the bite would be on Kensei monk and adding the Deft Strike that they get at level 6. Maybe it's a waste of ki points but still, when you're at low hp, it could be clutch.

  • @Klaital1

    Dhampir is one of my favorite races, I have played a few already, and I am planning another one, which is a warlock with the first vampire patron from Grim Hollow, (think kind of like undead patron but more focused theme on specifically vampire rather than general undead), which gives you lot of vampire themed abilities and patron spells (which don't really have any overlap with Dhampir racial abilities), that I am going to have been a human originally and being transformed to a dhampir as part of the pact they made with their vampire patron (that is just flavor, mechanics wise I just use the dhampir race stats). It's going to be a lawful evil noble who due to backstory reasons lost everything and her patron saved her and offered to help her get back everything she lost, and much more, in exchange for swearing allegiance to the vampire and becoming his agent to destroying his enemies that he can't get to himself for some reason or another. Which should give lot of opportunities for the DM to incorporate the patron into the game.

    • @TheSinisterheroes
      @TheSinisterheroes  7 месяцев назад

      I like how it flows really well. The nobility into losing everything. The vampire pact making your a dhampir. The desperation. I’d love to find out how your character knew or found the vampire patron. Was it like some underground noble club with members who had such bad rumors swirling around them. Or was it by chance? It all has this wonderful Dracula esq feel not just cus there are vampires, but because I can almost like see the campaign setting your in.

    • @Klaital1
      @Klaital1 7 месяцев назад +1

      @@TheSinisterheroes I haven't started playing it yet so the DM might suggest some changes, but the way I have written the backstory is more that the patron found her, when she was literally dying after being attacked by some thugs, killing them and then, as she was laying on the ground bleeding, asked from her if she wanted to live, and if so, what for? And after she gave a satisfying answer, saved her life in exchange for her serving as his agent in places where he couldn't easily go.

      One thing I like to mess with when playing a Damphir is the Lineage of the Vampire your draw your heritage from. It would mostly be a rp thing but I like to think it would affect certain things about the character like their fighting style and what not.
      Edit: Take the different groups of the Vampire Counts of Warhammer fantasy for example
