I still hate them for what hey did to the original Kael'Thas voice actor. He got accused of sexual misconduct, Blizzard replaced his voice lines immediately. Once the man was show to be the actual victim in the situation by court proceedings, Blizzard didn't even have the decency to mention it.
Bobby duping Xbox into buying ActiBlizz has also made the overall situation in the industry worse because Microsoft still needs to find the money to recover from that acquisition. That directly resulted to all the studio shutdowns and layoffs in a desperate attempt to maintain their perceived success for investors. And it's not even working anymore.
@@Byakkoya11037 It gets better. *He* is the reason why the PvE feature of Overwatch 2 was scrapped. It was removed right as he was about to leave. People have speculated that he did that so his separation bonus would become that much bigger thanks to the additional available funds.
The update being 30GB wasn't even the worst part about Warcraft III Reforged for owners of the original game. That update actually *disabled several features* that were already part of the original game and held them hostage until you purchased Reforged.
WotLK also was my favorite expansion for I am a Warcraft III simp. I just loved it, with the exception of the stupid-ass "without a Lich-King the Scourge will be even more dangerous now" ending.
::EDIT addition:: I love your reactions, and honestly it's amazing how much you already know and use that to make the upcoming reveals more entertaining, while also making the rare moments you don't know something (like the warcraft 3 reforged menu) all the funnier cause it really shocks you xD ::Unedited comment below An argument I've heard that makes sense to me on WoW's slow decline. HotS could have been bigger than LoL thanks to how well established their IPs are, but it's one of many casualties during Blizzard's greatest streak of somehow taking every bad decision it can.
Thanks you, it was so interesting to listen about your experience with they games at launch and stories about life in general at that times. Have fond memories about Warcraft 3 and Diablo 2 as well, so it always curious to see similarities, especially in different countries. Yeah, watching they downfall are depressing, but oh well, nothing is eternal. So let's just cherish this memories and move on.
also what only few people know, the same thing happened with Rocket League, its first iteration on PC was a mod for Unreal Tournament 2004 called "CarBall" and afaik the head mods-men were then also hired to create Rocket League
I STILL remember how, at one point in time, I, as a warrior in WotLK, singlehandedly changed the opinions of other warriors in my guild, which happened to ranked 20th for all raiding guilds on the server, on which spec put out the best DPS. I'm sure Jack could tell you, the belief was common that Fury was best because of the insane stat and damage spike of suddenly having TWO 2h weapons equipped, BUT it's also largely stagnant at where your DPS ends up, ie it becomes significantly harder to push your numbers higher without better and better weapons and when you're in a guild that's already raiding ICC, there aren't many better weapons to come by. So instead, I specced into Arms and managed to prove that technique could be just as good or better than the pure stat buff of Fury by immediately becoming the 6th best DPS on our 25-man team. There were warriors in our team that JUST MY REND OUTDPSED. That might have been when I peaked in gaming.
I would like to put forth the idea that Blizzard was always this bad. If recent events are of any indication, it doesn't matter how big or small the game studio is, unless they got iron-clad standards and rules against harassment, then it's going to just be swept under the rug. Remember the first time when one of the WoW devs had to be programming while his first kid was being born? I'm sure whoever it was is wondering if it was really worth it at this point.
Liked this fella's video about EA more. That one had less back and forth. Anyway, good thing about Blizzard focusing 100% on multiplayer after W3 is that i no longer cared about them, so did not affect my gaming.
The 666 platinum thing was: You can get your seasonal premium battle pass for a 1000 platinum. So you are good for one purchase buuut 666 x 3 iiiiis.. 1998. Juuust a liiiitle bit short for your second purchase. How unfortunate. ;)
I didn't join WoW until at least halfway through the Burning Crusade, but IMAGINE the launch and how rough it must have been! I doubt any studio has ever been so under prepared for a launch because they simply didn't expect that basically every nerd on the planet wanted to play WoW.
It's interesting to hear about all this from the perspective of a man who is interested in games so he's heard about all these famous Blizzard franchises but I've never played them. I preferred to play other games. When people were playing Diablo I was playing Revenant/Dungeon Siege. When people were playing Warcraft I was playing Age of Empires. When people were playing Starcraft I was playing Warhammer. When people were playing HearthStone, I was playing MTG. When people were playing WoW, I was playing (with a distaste for the genre) Guild Wars 1 and 2. When people were playing HoTS, I wasn't playing anything from that awful genre. Blizzard never (I think) made a turn-based game so I played the wonderful Disciples 2 for a long time. ------------------------ I was late to play their games. Their first game I played in due time was Diablo 3. I liked the game completed it 3 times. I never went through any hack'n'slash again. I started to get bored with these games. I never caught on to that famous “hypetrain” when it came to Diablo 2. I turned on D2 for the first time 20 years after its release and the outdated gameplay ideas just bored me. It's one of those games I probably would have liked if I'd played it since launch. But instead of D2 came Gothic 2. It turned out to be my favorite action crpg game of all time. Probably because of the old way of making a game - it takes the player seriously and doesn't lead by the hand. With great Polish dubbing. Polish dubbing is legendary in cartoons but in games we do worse. The best dubbed games into Polish are Gothic and The Witcher. Goodness gracious, The Witcher 3 is already 9 years old. Stop the time!
It genuinely breaks my heart to know that the real Blizzard is dead. Diablo, Warcraft, WoW, they all DRAMATICALLY changed the landscape of the industry for the better, but now they're like rotten corpses manipulated by puppet strings, masquerading as "The Mighty Blizzard Entertainment".
ah! i see it only took about 7 months from Jules video "32 Jahre Blizzard Entertainment" (a german breakdown of blizzard in its entirety) to finally hit the english speaking stage. about damn time.
Actually, yeah, I guess in the long run, I DO like ActiBlizz because Blender is fucking sick They might not be a good game studio anymore, but they make really high quality porn models lol
I find amazing that Blizzard was a gaming titan and had been loved by so many people, but the ""first"" time I heard about the company was in the lawsuit. Never cared about their games, mostly because the multiplayer focus and internet starting to be a (bad) thing in my life only after 2013 or 14.
Might be not the fitting one for reactions, but the german youtuber julez made a pretty good summary about blizzards missdeeds (I am just asuming that you can understand german somewhat as a dane XD), might be neat for personal enjoyment
Don't try to point this out on the Diablo 4 Reddit. Bunch of short memory fan boys in there. Ready with excuses like "what do you mean they don't listen to the players, d4 is getting good now!" Like you understand why right? Because it was dying and they finally had to capitulate to the fans. Not because they learned anything, but because their way was losing them whales to buy more useless cosmetics.
I still hate them for what hey did to the original Kael'Thas voice actor. He got accused of sexual misconduct, Blizzard replaced his voice lines immediately. Once the man was show to be the actual victim in the situation by court proceedings, Blizzard didn't even have the decency to mention it.
That and there are twitterphiles that still believe the man is guilty and praise blizzard for removing him saying he didn’t even sound like kael
Do you play the Yakuza series? The same thing happened to Tanimura's VA in Yakuza 4. Except it was drugs, not sa.

@@1wayroad935 Now that's just comical. The man is like a living lethal poison.
Wait, soo Bobby planned to ruin the entire western gaming industry for money?!
Was he the one who planted the thought of gaming industries becoming like big tech industries?

Heroes of the Storm is definitely a way more fun game than League of Legends.
Too bad they mostly stopped updating it.

I literally rewatched the Prince of Darkness trailer a few weeks ago and it still gives me chills. WotLK was peak WoW.
Like and good reaction.👍👍 “Remind yourself that overconfidence is a slow and insideous killer” - an ancestor that ruined everything (Darkest Dungeon1)

THAAAAAANKS for recommendation! I LOVE Nicolas Cage's movies. Willy's Wonderland was amazing.
To think those guys that thought Silicon and Synapse was about breasts were right all along.
Ever since the early days, Blizzard was willing to throw any talent away, no matter how senior and famous, in the name of chasing profits.
