Loved the story definitely one of the darkest stories for a Tales game and Velvet is definitely one of the darkest main characters in a jrpg. Definitely need to finish it.
How about Tales of Xillia 2 for example? It also have great battle sistem to not get boring. Talking about other jrpg - Persona and other smt games will be much more dark to compare.
Velvet is easily my favourite tales protagonist she has a level of complexity to her character and everything she goes through in the game just makes me feel like she needs a hug

Much like with shadowbringers ff15 expantion finally follows the Hero of Darkness, instead of the hero of light story they seldom like too follow.
It has been 5 years the game had been launched Since then: -Attack on Titan has already 3 seasons finished -Dragon ball super had ended and in progress to be launched again -boruto already has 150+ episodes -black clover has 100+episodes -boku no hero has 5th season And there is me waiting for berseria to have its own anime
Well nobody at Bandai put an order to make it. But even if they did, they currently wouldnt be able to do it. Ufotable doesnt have the time for it. They are to busy doing stuff for Kimetsu no Yaiba/Demon Slayer.
I always go back to this intro. So much feels esp. when the song and scenes explode at 1:16 - I felt Berseria did a lot of things right esp. story & character development. They also upped the English voice acting and it's the first time I wanted to play an entire Tales game in English. I cannot wait for Arise.
This game's story telling is just fantastic. I love, LOVE, every story they have in this game. from the main story even the extra scene. The story toward the ending is especially heartbreaking, and the way they ended it, is just... I don't have any word to describe it in one word, It's sad, somehow made me happy but disatisfied, but it's actually fitting and heartwarming, if you want to put it simpy, it's absolutely beautiful. I'm glad I managed to clear almost 100% of it and witnessed the end of Tales of Berseria. What a beautiful game.
Man, what I'd give to have a Berseria anime. It has such a great main cast that fits together so well, despite being so incredibly different. All six of them fulfill their role in the story amazingly, none of them feel put of place, and the story wouldn't work nearly as well if any of them were absent.
Definitely the best tales game i have played to date. Amazing story with amazing characters that have stellar development. On top of all that it had a fleshed out lore and great gameplay. Absolutely fantastic.
I honestly found Laphi to be annoying, out of all the characters I disliked him the most but he did grow throughout the story and I was fine with that. He still annoyed me through the game but at least he was changing. But everyone else I definitely agree with, Eizen being my favorite because of his humor and what he stood for, I loved the whole creed thing and how he accepted his reapers curse as who he was and he couldn’t change that. His interactions and side quest with Zavied where fantastic as well.
I like how Dyle, Medissa, Kamoana and Benwick are in the intro too. One of the few games where the side characters were just as interesting as the main.
Just like the game, with the beautiful violin (?) and piano sound and then jumped straight to some rock music instrument like guitar and drums it's definitely one of the best opening of the tales game
I haven't really played a tales game since I was maybe 10 or 12. I think that was my first to be honest, and it was Tales Of The Abyss. Now as I am getting back to JRPG again and decided to play Tales Of Berseria, and damn the nostalgia it brings. It really brought me back my love of JRPG and their focus on storytelling compare to games like Skyrim. I would like to give a shout out to the devs who made this game possible and my deepest thanks for having a chance to play a game as wonderfully made as this.
You just feel the power and the passion in their voices, especially as they end off the song near the end, so melodic and it fits so well with the visuals! =)

Love the opening. It sounds to have so much promise then that rock guitar plays and you know it doesn't have the same formula as the other Tales games. Starts out soothing and then a few moments later it turns intense... just like the story lol

This Tales of game is the first JRPG I've played and gotta say the battling tutorial and skits in the demo back in january made me so hyped to get the game I had to pre-order it just for that tiny extra bonus. I found the game through the Zestiria anime, and im so glad I did. Now after many months playing the game and grinding for good gear etc etc I still play this intro everytime that I dont accidentaly hit a button on the keyboard or controller. Glad you enjoyed it. Welcome to Tales. If you're hungry for more, I would direct you towards of one of the big three (Symphonia, Abyss, Vesperia). Hopefully you won't have too hard of a time getting into them with Berseria being first, but I would suggest Symphonia or Vesperia personally.
The way the camera pans up to Titania from the tranquil sea, then you see Velvet's therion arm bust through the roof just as the guitar riff kicks in Seldom has there been a better way to open a video game

Eizen is easily my favorite tales character so far.

Zestiria's original opening did have lyrics, but I believe due to contractual issues, they had to remove them for the NA release.
I believe it was also due to possible racial insensitivity, since the main chorus goes "I wanna be white."
"white light" , technically. But, it was very easy to mishear that.
It wasn't. It was licensing issues.

this is my first tales game and i was like oh boy how did i skip something like this its one of the best games with perfect story

If you're hungry for more, I would direct you towards of one of the big three (Symphonia, Abyss, Vesperia).
Hopefully you won't have too hard of a time getting into them with Berseria being first, but I would suggest Symphonia or Vesperia personally.
The way the camera pans up to Titania from the tranquil sea, then you see Velvet's therion arm bust through the roof just as the guitar riff kicks in

This game, the abyss, symphonia, vesperia, and xillia are the best games in the entire franchise. I will fight anyone who disagrees
