Of the few Tales games i have played, Xillia has been both my first and most favorite one yet, though the Zestria and Vesperia are pretty close seconds.
I played Symphonia, graces f, Xillia 1, Xillia 2, Zestiria, and I'm sorry but Xillia 2's scenario was the best and the most badass one. So many surprising revelations and plot twists... love it so much.
Why. Calm down, it can be bittersweet and good at the same time. It's depressing to me because SPOILERS Milla #2 dies in a sad way, Ludger has to kill his brother and either Ludger or Elle die in the end. Plus, Gaius seems a little lonely cause all his friends are dead. I would say all of that is pretty depressing. I still loved the game, though. That's my opinion and you don't have to agree.
+Why. seeing everything that went down in xillia 2 was the darkest out of all the tales games, hell the bad ending is saddest i've seen in any tales game x.x
That's why i kind of liked this game.......the story really is touching especially the one where you have to kill your brother.......the bad ending is really "bad" the last choice is hard too.... :( this game is amazing!

I really loved Arise. The relationship between Alphen and Shionne was just beautiful, but this game will forever have a special place in my heart. Romantic relationships are beautiful, but the bond between parent and child is something else. Ludger and Elle made this game one of the best experiences a game ever gave me.
Tales of xillia 1, and 2 are still my favourite games I ever played on ps3 10 years ago. And I still have my disks for the games too. I also wish for a remaster of the games too

Uhhh, well according to what I hear ludger, the white haired dude was trying to be some ultra super secret agent (kidding of course but it was something similar) so that's why he has a wide array of weapons at his disposal. However the two things that piss me off about xillia 2 is, 1) ludger doesn't talk.... At all. Well until you beat the game and unlock his voice. I seriously hope they just forgo all that and let me hear his voice from the start because I hate mute protagonist. 2) They don't even try to redesign maps or so I hear. Apparently they don't even reshape it, it's the exact same map from xillia 1 with treasure placement etc. everything where it was before. Somehow I feel that's really lazy.... But this is what I hear from people who claim to play the game so I'm not entirely sure. However the mute thing is set in stone defined already....

I like Xillia but let's be honest. The boss fights were lazy as they broke out of combos based on hit counts, making single-striking artes better. The game was horribly unbalanced, where Milla and Jude were godlike whereas Rowen folded like paper (and was STILL broken). Framerate drops when nothing impressive was going on. Cheated out of a second world almost entirely. It's no secret Xillia was rushed to hit the deadline of the 15th Tales anniversary.

I was too and have been scouring the web looking for something to give me something else. I found this guy on fanfiction.net, he's written 2 stories that's really interesting. "A Different Path" which explores how things would have been different if alternate Milla actually managed to survive her death. The one I'm currently reading is "A New Beginning" and it's still on-going. It explores how the story will change if Ludger actually managed to be with the party in ToX. You should check it out

I honestly was not a fan of the ending, a few things just felt a bit forced, and it didn't really feel like the guy who really caused all the problems in the first place, Origin, got what he deserved. Somethings just made the end feel a bit empty.
Elias Silva de Aguiar thats not really a problem. at least the player gets to choose the personality of the character through choices. at some way, Ludger to me is kinda of a enjoyable character. I cant hate him or obsessed with him.

I think that's because it takes place in a more modern world as you can see by the fact that Alvin has a mobile phone in the opening. I love fantasy stories that takes place in a somewhat modern world - one of the many reasons I'm also really hyped about X(for Wii U) :)

Story wise maybe Xillia and Symphonia are better. Character wise it's Vesperia hands down. With honorable mentions to Kratos, Alvin, Guy and Jade. Main Antagonist wise it goes directly to Phantasia. Dhaos is untouchable as a main antagonist.
Tales of Abyss story wasn't very good at all. Luckily Tear, Guy and Jade picked up the slack. Vesperia is my personal favorite so I won't argue that. The Symphonia fans would though.

I used to love Abyss, but having recently replayed it on my 3ds, the only thing that I can say I genuinely liked was Guy and Jade (Van wasn't too bad either). Replaying Symphonia right now on PS3, so much nostalgia. It was my first tales game, and I can honestly say there is very little I dislike about it. Xillia was near perfect for me, but Vesperia, man... I loved each and every one of the characters. Yuri is the best Main character. If only we could get the complete version here. The only Tales game I disliked was Tales of Graces F. The story was repetitive and boring, the main character had a horrible VO and a shitty character arc. The only thing that saved it was the fun combat
Yeah I agree. Yuri was probably my favorite main character. The guy is the Batman of Tales. When he went on his vigilante ninja missions I was like, "This fool isn't really about to murk him." Yuri was extremely relatable for me. I couldn't do that typical japanese rpg hero Flynn shit. So not only was what Yuri did very satisfying. It was also very entertaining, and a side we usually don't get to see.
The reason why I blew several years worth of my saved allowance on a PS3 back in highschool was in order to play this game (and its prequel naturally).
The Tales series has been with me all the way since symphonia back when I was 9, thankyou for providing me with a lifetime of entertainment and joy, even till this day, this defined my childhood, and is my personal, studio ghilbi.
I just finished Tales of Xilia 1 yesterday (Jude's story) and am still waiting for the right moment to play the sequel, but maybe I should wait a few months while playing other games so I don't get bored and can play Tales of Xillia 2 with a fresh feeling

I would jump on a tales of xillia 1+2 remaster. Love them.
