It seems like they are planning on remastering a lot o the old tales series so we might get a modern version of this game
The ending to this always gives me chills, it's just so epic seeing all these defining shots, that shot alone of Alvin pointing his gun at the screen hints at his entire story arc.

As some one that has the game (and, at one point watched my older brother beat it) I understand which "Alvin" is being referred to. But, reading that comment made me picture Alvin from Alvin and the Chipmunks.

The part where Jude fights Gaius in this OP makes this one of the best I've seen. I mean, you got a martial artist taking on a skilled badass swordsman

The Tales of Mothership that started it all for me is this. I love this opening. Honestly I think this is still my favorite opening.

+zorohibiki Yeah, especially against fucking Gaius, who's so badass that he's pretty much Sephiroth's and Lu Bu's lovechild. When I actually got to the battle we see in the opening, I told everyone else to stand by and 1vs1 him as Jude. That's how I felt it was supposed to be ^^

I really like the bits where you can see Mila with/protecting Elize. Its very wholesome and almost motherly of her.
this opening is iconic, this was my first tales of game and i been into the series ever since.
Jude's attacks are awesome midgame. Just when I thought the game was over, it keeps going. I loved every minute of it. Especially his artes.

You mean the most Badass Martial Artist Hero that doesn't need a BIG sword to fulfill his heroic endowment.
That's why he is my favorite Hero in RPG's next to Sabin (FF3/6).
Back in college I joined a kung fu club as a hobby, and was surprised by the number of doctors and med students who were involved in the local martial arts community. It was eventually explained to me that a lot of medical workers like studying martial arts as a way of furthering their own understandings of the human body. I still often wondered about how they squared that with the Hippocratic Oath, and figured that many likely focused more on the physical conditioning aspect of things than the direct combat applications. All in all, making Jude the martial artist of the group is surprisingly on point, in hindsight.
Probably the best Opening thus far for Tales game. the song starts strong and i love the way it diverges for Milla's and Jude's Stories. Brilliant!
I love the brief fight between Gaius and Jude. Such a wicked clash of fighting styles. So much intensity.

Tales of Xillia... There are just a few things in my life which gave me so much emotions like they did. It was my first tales of ever... And it was the best one ever.. Can still remember the first time I've watched this opening on ps3... I was never ever so hyped and happy like here...
Can relate! Sometimes after losing a fight, returning to title screen and rewatching this help me get motivated to try again and beat it. This amazing opening has just made the whole game so much better, in my opinion.

I've played a few of the Tales games and I gotta say, Xillia is by far my favorite!! The story and characters are some of the best I've seen
I remember when it was revealed Tales of Xillia got an English localization. The sheer and how happy people were at the reveal.
Maybe one day Ufotable will grace us with an anime of this.
Lazzil I agree the plot and characters are incredibly strong and I don't see why the actors wouldn't return as long as they don't make it into Danganronpa the animation with its length it'll be phonomenal

I played Tales for the first time in 2024, Tales of Xillia was the first, I played it on my PS3 and it left me amazed and enchanted with its story, it made me feel a lot of emotions and I will never regret having played it 🤩

+Dawson Rowe For the fans, maybe but for people in general, it's probably just gonna be a typical, albeit fun fantasy adventure anime fare. Tales of the abyss arguably had a stronger story and character development yet its anime adaptation was only average at best.
+J Bowman Well, the game had more content and the anime series had to squeeze in everything into 24 episodes. Lol. Its just like how a movie is made from a book. Its gonna lack content.

If it were extended to 2 seasons. 1 for each world. The first would be up til either A) milla dies, or B) When they arrive in Elympios. Maybe by working closely with Koei-Tecmo the anime could add the stuff that was originally cut for time. Apparently Elympios was supposed to last as long and be as large as Reize Maxia, but to make it in time for the 15th anniversary, some stuff was cut for time. Still a very good game, but IMHO the cut content kept it from being truly great.

Got a tragic story to share, kids. Months ago, I purchased Tales of Xillia and was enjoying it a lot... and then my PS3 finally died, yellow light of death and all that, beyond repair according to the tech guy I took it to... I also had downloaded Tales of Graces F... fate just enjoyed screwing me over.
I hope they eventually re-release this and ToX2 for PS4, like they did with the Symphonia duology.
i mean graces was garbage so thabk god you didn't experience it.
i heard the battle system was really good
Puffed Lolis Graces is amazing and the battle system is gold.
Graces gets alot of hate but it was my first dive into this franchise and I love it......With that said Xillia was AMAZING.
I hope for all ps3 games on ps4 since you can't find ps3 anywhere nowadays

Jude may never reach "Train" Level suplexing ability, but he his a badass regardless. And of course Sabin is #1 in my RPG heroes list.
This shit was intense. Imagine this OST playing in the background while you fought the war in the chain of battles. ~goosebumps
I miss this game so much and I'm still mad that Bamco refuses to give it a pc port... almost every other Tales game has a pc port now except this one...

Jude's probably the best to use, thanks to his quick snap ability and ridiculous speed. I swear, the kid can run freaking circles around enemies. Other than that, I was honestly expecting him to have more healing skills or an ability to make gels, considering the fact that he's a med student.
Yea, self sustain, great dodge, every element, high combo chain, reliable damage. Only real down side is his healing is only good for him and cant break Iron stance on his own that well
He is a med student, with a minor in pain.
Yeah I expected the meeting student to be a better healer, but at least he’s got some good dual healing artes

We need a Pc version of this. My favorite part is I love the beginning of the video, where the girl with the brown hair is frightened in front of the approaching camera, such a cool start. the fight between Jude and Gaius is a popcorn cinema feeling. I love how Jude can beat up an evil swordsman with his blows and martial arts.

My fav Tales games. Played Symphonia, Berseria, Zestiria, Arise and Vesperia before this and they can't touch this one. Masterpiece.
I beat Xillia for the first time a little over a year ago and recently started on Xillia 2. Both openings are so good.

Wow this op still gives me goosebumps.
*Some Spoilers* I noticed how in Jude's opening how Elise and Milla both have the same amount of scenes.
Jude obviously has the most as it is his story's opening but come unexpected that Elise has the same amount of scenes as Milla. Everyone else has less.
Well, the developers did consider Elise as the 'second heroine' when they were still developing it; even giving her a bigger role in Xillia 2 with Elle - and notice how in the end credits that she is close to Ludger and Elle when you would expect Milla to be in her place as a parallel to Jude. She even has the credit image where Tipo is in front of the camera and she appears bigger than most of them/stands out more as she is trying to retrieve him.
Oh and not to mention how on the game's box art, she is in the centre of Jude and Milla - main characters are usually upfront, similar to Zestiria where Sorey and Mikleo as well as Rose are at the front (except Roze is not a lead/main/heroine character but is just as important = like Elise)
Even the meetings were similar, Jude, Milla and Alvin met Elise - left - came back and picked her up.
Sorey and Mikleo met Rose but she didn't join as she joins later on. Zaveid is an exception due to originally being an enemy character.
Wow, didn't know I would write that much and some came to mind along the way. Well, I do like Elise just as much as Jude and Milla and I do understand a chunk of the story relies on her finding a home/better life, her family and origins as well as Tipo's origins.

Man, I'm SO glad this was my first Tales game. I mean damn, it was so good and I liked it so much that I picked up the CE of Xillia 2 after Christmas (just got started Chapter 11), and that I picked up Tales of Graces F off PSN as soon as I saw it was on sale for $8.75.
Same. I've aged Vesperia, but I was pretty young, and it was only for a short while. This is the first Tales of that I truly played

+SpanishFly120 My first Tales game was Tales of Symphonia (I'm an old foggie), but Tales of Xillia is one of my favorites for sure. Such great characters, plot, and godlike battle system. Linking is my absolute favorite mechanic to come out of the Tales games.

I love how Jude wanted to be a doctor and (SPOILER ALERT) he ends up literally punching God in the face later in the game. (He also punches fish while going down a waterfall which is pretty cool too)

One detail I really like about this version is the fight between Jude and Gaius; if you look at the smoke cloud they jump out of, you can see blue flashes. In Milla's version, her fight against Gaius has her sword leaving blue trails.
So that basically means that Jude got knocked away at the beginning of Milla's scene, then came RIGHT back in and took over the fight! xD
Tales of Xillia will always gave a special place in my heart as my favorite Tales game. I was brought to tears when I knew Jude and Milla's journey finally came to a close. The thought of saying goodbye to them, Alvin, Elize, Leia, and Rowen, was depressing. I remember standing for hours inside the Trigleph apartments listening to that somber, jazzy tune. Xillia 2 was a bit of a letdown, but still, I was glad to see everyone again.
I know that there wasn't too big a difference, but i feel like Jude's opening was more epic than Milla's.

After finishing this game I couldn't play anything else for weeks. I was just sad that I was done with it. I didn’t want to leave it, lol.
This game seriously needs a re-release. Maybe a Xillia Chronicles with both Xillia 1 & 2 like how Symphonia Chronicles had Symphonia & DotNW. I would love that and that way I could finally get my hands on a copy of Xillia 2.
Dude... you don't wanna play Xillia 2. I guarantee you won't have a good time. It was bad compared to the first game. Every character was trash from the gameplay perspective to the story itself. Jude and Millas relationship was basically thrown in the garbage can and all the events from the first game mean nothing. Gauis turns into whatever the hell they did to him... it hurt me man. X2 was just bad.

There is no really continuity about them and they are there, its all. Xilia 2 is not a bad game and good série of a second tales of game but if we must talk it as a continuity about first game, its really disapointed. And I'm agree with your words. I'm Sad that people had only play at Xillia 2 and not first.
@@sosso6606 then you've been living under a rock. Xillia 2 was a rushed game that was pushed out fast in order to capitalize on the success of the first game. It's a general consensus that it's awful compared to the first game, at least story wise

This was so far the best Tales of ive ever played, long time ago tough. The second game was awesome too, i miss those Tales of. Wish they´ll release remakes or even better sequels to this, but i guess it will never happen :/

I would love for this game and Xillia 2 to get the same multiplatform remaster treatment that Vesperia got. This game is too good to be left behind on the PS3. I was hoping it would happen last year for the 10th anniversary, and it seems like it isn't happening this year for 2's 10th, so I guess I'll just be in my corner huffing hopium that something will happen next year or in '24 for the 10th anniversary of their international release.

@@Sonsaku_tv it was more of a "Complete Version" rarher than a remastered. Xbox 360 made it exclusive and wanted to rush production way before it was done, so xbox had it but you couldn't play Flynn or Patty

I really love how in each Tales game they have the different bonds between pairings of teammates.

Tales of graces f was my first tales game but honestly Xillia basically wipes it off the face of the earth. Both Tales of Xillia 1 & 2 were amazing and definitaely added to my very short list of favorite games.
i loved graces; now playin xillia, feels somehow different, but still so immersive!

Gaius is an all-around great character. I especially like his ideology regarding his reign over Auj Oule and his people.
Tales of Symphonia (Gamecube), Tales of Xillia (Jude), Tales of Berseria, Tales of Zestiria the x (2) openings are my favorite tales of openings lol.

The only JRPG I ever played where the main character felt like a part of the awesome characters. Usually the main character is stupid af and the party shines. But nope, he was epic, just like every character in this game. In fact I'd say Jude was probably the best by a very small margin.
