I am excited to play for the first time tbh. People in my circle are calling this game like a 3/10 but I am interested in trying it for myself so yeah. This opening slaps to ngl.
Its story is a bit on the weaker side but its combat is undoubtedly the best of just about any of the series barring something like arise. It has a LOT of depth.@@acecondor5716
I loved the story, I DESPISED the combat system, was way to restrictive and didnt feel fluid (plus the game had strange difficulty spikes and a irritatingly long grinding process
True, true. But there's always technical quality you always can judge. Such as say animated cutscenes. This was a pretty powerful hallmark in ToX 1 & 2 that raised the bar in that area immensely. I like Graces for other reasons of course, but the animated cutscenes in Graces were balls and looked very low budget at times (as well as some acting issues but eh). Only main "gripe" I had with the game.
Different artists. Xillia had Square Enix help out so they had access to better graphics. It fits the games more though. Graces F is a bit of a happier setting I guess so the type of art they came out with fits. Another thing is Graces F is a remake of Graces so it's been out longer
Aedan Vesperia I literately can't name a favorite tales games because every single one I have played has had its own unique characters and story, there all so great. (I have played Xillia 1 and 2, Symphonia 1 and 2, Abyss, Vesperia, Hearts R and I have Graces F coming in the mail)
While I agree with what you said, people will always compare the game to each other. That's what fans do. As for me, I Graces is my least favorite mothership entry so far because I feel it focused on the wrong aspects. I still think it's a good game, but not my cup of tea as much as everyone else's.
I don't get why this game gets as much hate as it does, I've played every Tales title releases in NA and this one is just behind Vesperia on my list. Easily the best combat in the series with a meh story, but Tales games are never about the story, they're about the characters and development. Graces had an excellent cast of characters and the best combat system I've ever played.
Well, the story isn't very good when you play it a second time. First time through I enjoyed it, but that second playthrough is so critical for games with New Game+ features.
Kaden West My only grip with this is the English version of the opening them. There's something about it that urks me, and makes me with that they just made it instrumental like Abyss(actually preferred that over the Japanese one with vocals). Or maybe like Xillia where they kept the Japanese version.
Kaden West I honestly, don't know either. In my opinion symphonia was BY FAR the best, just narrowly ahead of abyss. However, I don't think Vesperia compares to either of those storywise.
I stopped reading at "Tales games are never about story." Are...you...serious? It's ALL about story. I don't hate this game but it's definitely one of the worst in the series for countless reasons.
@@waynewashburnll7410 Same I wish they would remake it like Tales of Vesperia on PS4, 5, Switch or Xbox it had a low score and is quite underrated cause Tales of Vesperia got it, and now I am just keeping an eye out for a Tales of Graces Remaster on those consoles
This games opening always gives me the feels. I really loved this game dont care about anyone elses opinion on it. Will forever hold a special place in my heart.
Lyrics : Think of days with no hope so alone in the dark I cried so many tears Now I know now I know the page was turning chapter one in my book of love But you came and you showed me that dreams can come true I want you to know my hearts glows from your touch In your arms all my pain inside washes right through Together we’ll find the way I believe your love I believe in our love No matter what I know our aim is true Every step we take our love will grow stronger I wish that two hearts could be one Seasons are changing... snow’s coming down now... Melting from traces of our love... Never be alone Forever more I believe your love I believe in our love No matter what I know our aim is true Every step we take our love will grow stronger I wish that two hearts could be one I’ll be there for you I’ll be right by your side I promise to cherish eternally You’re the only one to lead me through this life I wish that our hearts could be one I wish that our hearts could be one
I remember playing this game back in the days with my big sister. It really helped me back then and shaped me as a person, as stupid as this may sound. It will always have a special place in my heart.
I know i'm really freakin' late to the party with this game but i finally finished it today and i gotta say it's one of the best games i've ever played, i love the whole tales of franchise and Graces and Xillia are so far my favorites, and among the best games ever made in my opinion.
Glad to hear you enjoyed it Asbel really showed me what it means to be a true friend i mean to save Richard and take on his burden was fucking everything
I finished the game like 8 years ago when it came out and years later I just re-played the game and I'm actually at the end in the F arc, party at level 133 aiming for the 200. I had most of the goodies for my god know how many playthrough I am at. Storyline in that one is my favorite. I hope they do a Graces 2 just like they did Xillia 2 lol.
I beat it not long before you in 2019 and I agree, it's one of the strongest Tales titles I've played. And I've played almost all of them besides Arise. Xillia is also a big contender.
The fighting system is more unique and more challenging than the other Tales games. Not only that the format was different, not in a bad way. SP/Title system changed my mindset of focusing on gaining more SP than experience and dualizing equipents and items were frustrating at first but it was fun after getting a hang of it.
I love 1:07 so much. Hubert: Trains his dualblades in gun formation and fires two bolts in a V shot. Pascal: Unleashes a torrent of magical energy from her Shotstaff(Likely buffs). Malik: *YEET*

I think this is my favorite opening song out of all the tales games I've played. I remember initially thinking it was lame, now it tugs at my heartstrings!
With Sony basically abandoning the PS3 soon I'll definitely never sell my physical copy of this game no matter how much it goes up in price. I might sound a little corny but this game holds a special place in my heart in the JRPG genre.
I think this intro is great partially because it harkens back to the musical style of Simple and Clean from Kingdom Hearts. Which is something that's near and dear to, I'm sure, many people here who grew up playing it before they heard of Tales.
Glad to see I'm not the only one who loved Graces F The characters (Yes I loved Cheria, shoot me) The music (Except the Barona Catacombs) The Battle System (Which I honestly loved more than some of the others) Everything about the game from start to finish deserves a special place in my heart.....
I recently got the game and i have to say the combat is really thought through you just have to realise that this game is a combo game and that you need to understand its mechanics to really like it
Asbel definitely lost against Bryce in their first encounter, but he got a good hit in at least. In the second one, Sophie assisted Asbel and you know there's no way some high-born soldier who got his position and ranks through nepotism is going to beat Sophie, a humanoid designed to eradicate a world ending calamity. My point here is, the game is not as devoid of logic as you make it sound to be.
My first Tales game.(so far my favorite.) I it's literally one of my favorite RPGs of all time. It's only 2nd to Kingdom Hearts. This games was just right. -The atmosphere -The music . -The characters and story, No games intro ever gives me goosebumps every time I watch it.
If you liked this one, then you'll love the other Tales games. I recommend Vesperia (if you have a 360 or you can speak Japanese), or Xillia for your next Tales game
I’m still new to tales, but i’m glad to see that the games are slowly coming for a modern audience who missed out on them! Can’t wait to buy this in January : D
My favourite Tales Of. Grew up with it through my teen years and it's the first I managed to finish so it holds major nostalgia. The childhood arc had me hooked hard. Would love a switch port. Captain Malik was so cool, I loved Sophie and the glass canon that was Pascal... I don't think I'll do a hard run from scratch again, though. Learned my lesson there. Too much hard work and suffering, haha.
Yikes, no not THAT sad. It's a bit like the first Kingdom Hearts and a little like Days. I can't say WHY it's like that without spoiling too much. Just that I was experiencing a lot of the same emotions from playing the first Kingdom Hearts.
Growing up I had only owned Nintendo systems. Tales of Graces F is what made me give in and buy a PS3 in March 2013. The theme of friendship and the design of the characters really spoke to me. Will be getting Graces F Remastered for sure when it comes out in January. Also AsbelxCheria forever!
As a musician I can tell you there's some science behind it. This change is the "minor 4" chord and is widely regarded as one of the most beautiful/sad chord changes in all of music
@@nezkeys79 thanks for revisiting my comment years later. that's interesting though I've always loved this song, and it's nice to know now why it is so beautiful sounding
Never completed this game but my brother let me play while he was visiting. This was my introduction to video games and it stays in a special place even though I don’t remember majority of it. Now I’m still playing video games ofc and I’m happy this was one of my first experiences with them. Don’t know if I’ll try this game again or look into more of the Tales series but that doesn’t make this game any less special to me. Thanks game. I’ll remember you.
Also Danke dafür. :D
Hailey Reynolds Eeww no. While the combat and soundtrack were nice the story was absolute garbage. Literally the entire game was solving all the problems "by the power of friendship." It got to the point where I was too far in the game to drop it and I just wanted to finish it. Xillia 2 was my favorite and I'd prefer a Xillia 3.
I know little to nothing about this franchise. And yet, I had this song stuck in my head and went through the OPs of every Tales game to find it. Why? Because my older brother introduced me to it when I was very young around the time he got me into anime and video games and I’m so grateful. Almost everything I know is because of him, he was like a parent to me sometimes honestly. And so, If anyone is seeing this, I’m so grateful for this just because it formed a good memory in my childhood. I may even get into this series because of it.
It's games like these that invite me each and everytime I insert the disc in my console to just sit back, wait for the second the opening starts and cry tears of joy. The feels...
The games I beat so far are: Tales of Graces, Tales of Xillia, Tales of Xillia 2, Tales of Berseria, Tales of Phantasia, Tales of Vesperia, and Tales of Symphonia. I love the tales of and there all still some I didn’t play or beat yet.
I didn't get to finish this before my sister took our PS3 with her when she moved, but I did reach Fendel. The game put me through an emotional ringer with the beginning alone, holy hell, and I lived for every interaction that brought the Lhant brothers closer. I miss it quite a lot, even if things like the inside of the Rockgagong scared me so bad I couldn't play.
I'm playing through this game right now and I love every single second of it. This is definitely up there on terms of my favorite Tales game of all time. Lets see how it ends and I might have to put it ahead of Abyss and this will sit at #2 under Vesperia. I love the entire cast of this game, the story, just everything about this game is so freaking close to perfect I don't want it to end but I know it will soon
this was my favorite tales game!! with Symphonia following a close second and i mean close!! the combat and gameplay was better, Asbel Hubert and his team were a tad bit more interesting than Lloyd Genis and their team but the story was not better than Symphonia that game storyline is hard to top! but hubert was my best character in this game he was too op and i laughed so hard when i heard his Mystic arte he said "Mystic Balls" which was hilarious!
Drizz Uzumaki I love this game!!! How they made the storyline and stuff, an overpowered girl called Sophie, who is actually from an alien planet, a cool spaceship, mixing sci-fi with these games, to be honest, it works perfectly.
I think he's saying "Mystic Waltz" with a sligthly German/Austrian "v" sort of sound. Which would make sense since before that, he says, "dance like the damned." I admit though, he is cool. My favorite line was "You have angered me. You will regret this!"
JamesiaInc i love ring a bell too... i know the english singer sounds like the japanese, but i think the original version is better (although the english refrain is so cute and perfect ;;;) and... well... the original singer of the Graces opening is ok, but sounds strange to me??¿¿ i dont know but i prefer the english version only of the graces opening.
ZER0lPT I dunno ;O. I started off with Symphonia and I thought it was the best (as most would). That made me have high expectations for the others an it kinda dissapointed me abit after playing them
Tales of the Abyss and Vesperia should be on your list to play. And while I know its harder for some to go back in time. Tales of Phantasia and Destiny are fantastic games. I loved Phantasia enough to own literally every version of it, even the demo cd from a japanese magazine subscription...
I love this game! This is the best Tales of game ever made! I love it so much. The intro and the feeling. It is so emomtional. I didn't thought this game would mean so much to me. But the story is awesome. I love all the characters and the feeling throgout the game. Come back a tales game with the same feeling.
While Symphonia kind of has the complete package of good gameplay and story, Tales of Graces f by far has the best story of the bunch. The complex systems involved with skills and using said skills were difficult to grasp, but the story will make you learn just from wanting to play it and get further.
i felt that Tales of Graces had a really cliched and cheesy storyline compared to other tales games such as vesperia. abyss and symphonia. The ones i mentioned were really well fleshed out. All i got in this game was friendship has the power to do anything, which i found very cliche.
I think they took cliche stereotypes and tropes and put them into a really lovable cast. It works really well because it feels like many of the main characters never lost their youth, which empowers the overarching storyline between very different time periods. The core story I'll admit is a little weak but the characterization is incredible.
koki12340 I am going to have to agree with you on most of those points. Graces is ok, but it's story is not a strong one. Abyss and Symphonia are easily the better, more complex and deep stories. What I truly find unsettling is when I come across those few people who honestly think Graces is better than Xillia for characters and story. Now, I know the opinion and preference thing kicks in here folks, so nobody get in a twist - but Xillia was the first title in the series to flesh out it's characters and put so much into all the little things that make them work in a *very long* time. Emotions and mannerisms in the skits, the victory scenes and personality throughout the story were incredible in contrast to a lot of other titles. So by now you know I'm a big fan of Xillia. But I'll say this. I am not someone easily entertained. I enjoyed Xillia so much because it IS a great game. Graces is a good hour-burner and then you realize it's only valid excuse during some events is just the 'friendship' theme again - and you could be watching Yu-Gi-Oh instead for what it's worth. That said, it isn't bad all. I love Tales games, and the only one I've ever found somewhat boring or just a waste of time wasn't even a main title - Tales of the World: Radiant Mythology - (shudder)
Y'all know why you are here

***** No,not really. The gameplay is completely different and honestly the plot in Symphonia has not aged well.
UchihaSurvivor360 is Symphonia similar to Graces ? I am playing graces right now and love it
I’m still new to tales, but i’m glad to see that the games are slowly coming for a modern audience who missed out on them! Can’t wait to buy this in January : D
We're so back
This song is basically Sophie singing this to Asbel.
Forever my favorite game. Lowkey teared up playing it. I beat it like 5 times back 2 back
My favourite Tales Of.
Wow, this opening is really nice and upbeat!
...
This game's gonna be tragic and heart breaking as all hell, isn't it?
(Evil chuckle)
Prepare for a feels trip.
*Sobs*
So...is it gonna be Persona 3 sad or Kingdom Hearts 358/2 days sad?
Yikes, no not THAT sad. It's a bit like the first Kingdom Hearts and a little like Days. I can't say WHY it's like that without spoiling too much. Just that I was experiencing a lot of the same emotions from playing the first Kingdom Hearts.
Oh boy..I can't fucking wait(kill me now)
* spoiler * 60% of the game deals with stopping possessed richard from destroying the world.
Hands down the best JRPG I’ve ever played. My favorite in the Tales series.
I love this opening so much.
2016 and I'm still addicted as hell to looking at this opening.
My favorite Tales game and favorite characters in history of Tales games.
+Ani-Manga Otaku
Same!
😢 please be a remaster for ps4
Excited af now for the remaster 🎉🎉🎉🎉
This game and song reminds me a lot of my younger siblings.
Revisiting this after years I swear I got chills when Sophie let go of the flower petals.
Funny enough, it released on a Nintendo console first.
@@ChiefMedicPururu It was odd considering the Wii’s popularity that Tales of Graces wasn’t localised outside of Japan.
@@Ninjafox-lz6jb Well, at least, Nintendo players are getting their game back.
whatever 1:14 to 1:22 is it's needs more of...it's my favorite part of the song when it just shifts it's tone
Best part 100% agree
As a musician I can tell you there's some science behind it. This change is the "minor 4" chord and is widely regarded as one of the most beautiful/sad chord changes in all of music
@@nezkeys79 thanks for revisiting my comment years later. that's interesting though I've always loved this song, and it's nice to know now why it is so beautiful sounding
The demo of this on my PS3 is what introduced me to the Tales series. Thank goodness it did.
It may not be my favorite Tales game, but I still liked it, and this song is as good as I remember. I'm glad there are people that loved this game.
I’ll remember you.
who else wants tales of graces 2? 💙
Hailey Reynolds Me!
the Story from Tales of Graces is over... I want Tales of Zestiria 2!!! :D
I want Tales of Graces 2 and Tales of Graces The Animation!
This song is amazing all these years later… Tales of Graces F Remaster here we come!!!!
This was the first Tales of game that I beat. It's my favorite and definitely deserves to be brought over to PC and current consoles.
January 17th 2025
Takes of graces has such a special place in my heart 🥲💖
My very first Tales game. My favorite! Alongside Xillia 2. Playing through Tales of Arise now, it’s AMAZING! Can go down as one of the greats.
I'm so incredibly excited about replaying this.
Who's here cause of the remaster
It's games like these that invite me each and everytime I insert the disc in my console to just sit back, wait for the second the opening starts and cry tears of joy. The feels...
I've listen to this song several times since I have the game. It is one of my favorite songs from the Tales of series, so thanks for posting this.
Glad I can finally play this next year
WE ARE BACK
YOU KNOW WHY WE HAVE GATHERED HERE
This opening got me into the tales of series. This song is beautiful and the animation is fantastic.
My favorite intro for any game in the Tales Of Series!!!!
Finally, a good upload of this. Been searching for a full HD version that doesn't destroy my speakers like some of the other versions were. :D
Not my favorite Tales (Symphonia is my favorite), but this has a special place in my heart.
Right symphonia is the best and the reason so many people love the franchise. I love graces to one of top tales of games
I can't get enough of this song i love it too much :)
Is it me or was this game a low-key hidden gem?
Super under appreciated
I'm playing through this game right now and I love every single second of it. This is definitely up there on terms of my favorite Tales game of all time. Lets see how it ends and I might have to put it ahead of Abyss and this will sit at #2 under Vesperia. I love the entire cast of this game, the story, just everything about this game is so freaking close to perfect I don't want it to end but I know it will soon
13 years past likes lightspeed....I have saw this opening when i have 14 years, i am 27 now ! And I'm still love it
Tales of Graces F Remastered hype !!!!!
Even after playing all the newer Tales games and most of the older ones this is still my favorite opening.
WE BACK BOIS!
This song was played recently in the opening ceremony of the Tokyo Olympics 2020
I bought this game 2 days ago... I just CAN'T stop playing it! I haven't been this passionated bu a Tales of game since Tales of Symphonia :D
idc what anyone says. This game. I loved it and the story and all the characters. It was just.... beautiful
I REMEMBER PLAYING THIS WHEN I WAS 10 I LOVE THIS SONG SO MUCH
this was my favorite tales game!! with Symphonia following a close second and i mean close!! the combat and gameplay was better, Asbel Hubert and his team were a tad bit more interesting than Lloyd Genis and their team but the story was not better than Symphonia that game storyline is hard to top! but hubert was my best character in this game he was too op and i laughed so hard when i heard his Mystic arte he said "Mystic Balls" which was hilarious!
Abyss is my favorite. it has all of the good points of both of those 2 games. I recommend it
Drizz Uzumaki I love this game!!!
This is the only one opening of tales of that i prefer in english more than in the original version.
Not even Vesperia?
JamesiaInc i love ring a bell too... i know the english singer sounds like the japanese, but i think the original version is better (although the english refrain is so cute and perfect ;;;) and... well... the original singer of the Graces opening is ok, but sounds strange to me??¿¿ i dont know but i prefer the english version only of the graces opening.
+Yuu the english singer is the japanese singer
Dale and Chill really?? i didnt ever notice...
+Yuu maybe YUU should pay attention! Ahahahahahahaha
hahaha
haha
ha
God the nostalgia really it me when i started seeing this again
My first Tales game and I love it. I have Xilla too and I haven't beat it yet but so far I like Graces better.
you should play Symphonia it was the 1st Tales that i played and it's most of the fans favorite
ZER0lPT
I dunno ;O. I started off with Symphonia and I thought it was the best (as most would). That made me have high expectations for the others an it kinda dissapointed me abit after playing them
ZER0lPT Tales of Symphonia chronicles is coming out next month. Cannot wait to play both Symphonia games.
LevelSelectGaming
Back to the childhood days :'D
Tales of the Abyss and Vesperia should be on your list to play. And while I know its harder for some to go back in time. Tales of Phantasia and Destiny are fantastic games. I loved Phantasia enough to own literally every version of it, even the demo cd from a japanese magazine subscription...
I love this game! This is the best Tales of game ever made! I love it so much. The intro and the feeling. It is so emomtional. I didn't thought this game would mean so much to me. But the story is awesome. I love all the characters and the feeling throgout the game. Come back a tales game with the same feeling.
I mean its good but the story is pretty much filled with anime clichés
Kirigaya Kazuto Said the SAO fanboy :P
Inukai OHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH BURNED
Inukai
but its true
Kirigaya Kazuto Yeah...so what?
This was one of the game on ps3 I spend more than 200 hours on
the only saying that I dislike about this game was how you had to craft you're out weapons and armor and you were always broke in this game
(Nov 28) Before 2020 ends i want to watch this, this is part of my childhood😭😭😭
I never thought a game would top Tales of Enternia for me, but this was hands down my favorite Tales.
Though Norma is the best Tales character ever!
While Symphonia kind of has the complete package of good gameplay and story, Tales of Graces f by far has the best story of the bunch. The complex systems involved with skills and using said skills were difficult to grasp, but the story will make you learn just from wanting to play it and get further.
sarcasm..?
I wouldn't know where I would have hinted at it. I like Graces a lot.
i felt that Tales of Graces had a really cliched and cheesy storyline compared to other tales games such as vesperia. abyss and symphonia.
