I was so pleased with Scarlet Nexus, now I'm waiting for this
I bought Scarlet Nexus because it's like having Sorey and Mikleo all over again as Yuito and Kasane, with the "childhood friend" looking like a certain princess with brown hair. Of course, the red thread of fate is between the two MCs. Overall gameplay, combat, story, and character designs are good.
Tales of Arise will deliver. I love the graphics... thanks to Zestiria's art director, Mr. Minoru Iwamoto. And the combat is something old Tales gamers will love since it's based on the older Tales.

@Rein Sama The skits are going to be hit or miss I feel. It's weird they are using 3d models for the skits but they have less animation than the 2d ones. But I did like the skit with alphen "cooking"

Was feeling uncertain by the theme+OP...but now, after listening to the JP for quite some hours and now this eng ver, I can safely say that I do not regret one bit preordering the collector's edition here in the EU, this theme is awesome and I'm quite hopeful the game is gonna be my fave for the year and possibly in my top for Tales of!

I played Berseria only, and that is enough to get me excited. If this game is even close to that, were in for a good time.
You should play Zestiria and Berseria, they're the best Tales games and i doubt this one will compare

Agreed for once none of the character seems annoying, which would be a first in a Tales of, there is usually always at least 1 character I can't stand in all Tales of, but for this one they all seem at least decent.

@@Kage57 Nah honnestly he is one of my favorite, he can be seen as annoying only during Sidequest and Skit but his annoyance fit the character, as he is basically a noble put out of his zone of cumfort for the first time in his life, and is basically clueless on how to live by himself.
The moment I saw the foot I already know it's Ufotable. As expected from one of the best studios, never dissapoint the fans.

Woah! Tales of cross over Guilty crown *-* when i see this opening my mind hope just some animation with QTE in game or a anime series like Scarlet Nexus or Tales of Zesteria
Scarlet and Zestiria almost have similar MCs- Sorey/Yuito, Mikleo/Kasane. Personalities are also very similar, as well as facial expressions and speech styles... but of course Scarlet has its own look and appeal that makes it also one of the best games I've seen. Scarlet is an amazing game- I bought it already... and Arise coming in the next few months makes the year even better.
Not the biggest JRPG fan tbh, but for some reason this game hit hard with me. Honestly wish I could experience it for the first time again.
Everything from the actual difficult combat at max difficulty, the insane combos you can pull off, the different playstyles with each character, THE STORY WAS AMAZING, epic boss battles, the characters were mostly awesome without too many cliches, all around amazing game, with an amazing and satisfying (seriously so many games story fail at their wrapping up their stories now a days), and I think this game deserves even more love than it already has.
One of my all time favorites still.
the end of the story was dogwater if you ask me, the whole last 4th of the game was just tragically boring

Check out Tales of Vesperia if you have the chance. Its a bit older but it recently got re-released on moderns systems. Yuri is easily in the Top 3 of the best Tales Protagonists.
The Story takes ages to get going though.

They do have romantic themes, but not usually a main focus. The relationships tend to be more complex.

Kinda the first Tales of Opening that did not made me feel hyped. It feels kinda wonky compared to Xillia 2, Zestiria and Berseria openings. They looked so fluid, while here animation feels jumpy... and the song feels kinda... like One Punch Man 2.
My favorite Tales of Openings are Tales of Destiny, Eternia, Destiny 2, Rebirth, Legendia, Graces... Tales of Destiny 2 (PS2) Opening is simply my favorite. And yeah, all of them are pre-ufotable.
Maybe it means that i got old... i feel how hyped i felt when i played Berseria and saw it's opening... as i played almost all Tales of Games on emulators from Tales of Phantasia to Tales of the Abyss, including both SNES and PS1 versions of Tales of Phantasia, and japan-only Tales of Destiny 2 and Tales of Rebirth (Thanks to dialogue translation guides i understood the plot), my favorite designer is Mutsumi Inomata, and i miss her designs, they were the best. So, i felt very hyped when Berseria came out and i watched it's opening... i feel like i've changed in those 5 years.
Yeah Ufotable did not put its best animation here but still good. I like the art style for Arise though it feels like a 90s art style but modern
As for the song I did not like it at first but it gets better and better as I listen to it

This was my very first tales game , I bought it around a week and a half ago and finished it today , there was not 1 second of the whole game that I didn't enjoy , it was visually stunning , the music was great and I loved the characters and I was really invested in them , alphen and shionne's relationship was so sweet and I love them
