I use a JP SCS in my 10.5" BLK as well. I use the lightest spring ( the white one ) with a carbine buffer. Makes it very easy to cycle so I can crank my gas block down and have a slow, smooth cycling, even without a suppressor.

Well here's what's funny; I loaded a perfectly functional sub/super combo using your earlier videos information:))) Lessons I learned from that video is that 1680 functions really well down to really slow subs and I did use 296 for supers. I don't even have an adjustable gas block but it works well, probably because it's 16" barrel. Also I don't know about Z-max bullets but I've loaded 110gr bullets (I don't know who makes them but they're designed for 300BLK) with 20gr of 296 and got 2426fps from 16" barrel measured with LabRadar. Only slight ejector marks on the brass, totally acceptable so I say you got room to grow.

The key for me to get **good** consistent performance with my 300 BO with both supers and subs was an **easily** adjustable gas block. I use the "Riflespeed" adjustable gas block that has an adjustment 'tube' around the barrel that extends a little bit out in front of the forward-most margin of the handguard. A couple toolless clicks of the gas adjustment ring and it shoots either without having to compromise your loads in any particular direction. I use Win 296 for both, just out of convenience because Win 296 shoots supers sooooooo sweet out of my gun.

I’ve only watched part of the video so you may have covered this, but I noticed that when the supers are WAY overgassed I found that with only a few rounds in the mag it would still work. But if the mag was full and the spring couldn’t quite lift all the rounds fast enough the bolt would overrun the next round, or misfeed. Something to consider.

@@robertpagel8951 With those bullets I'm pushing the c.o.l. out to 2.25" to get them to fit. The accuracy isn't anything impressive at 2-3 moa, but it's plenty for ringing steel which is my primary use for those loads. I haven't had time to really fine tune a new load yet, but I think I'll be moving primarily to using the 220 gr Berry's bullet for sub loads in the future. They are a little bit moe expensive than the cast bullets at about $80 for a box of 200 at my local shop, but the consistency seems to be better bullet to bullet. With the cast bullets I've had some issues with the diameter being too large on a handful causing rounds to not chamber correctly after seating.

Would have been unlikely or impossible without *knowledge* gained thru experience. Building & shooting loads rather than reading.
You generously share what you learn - mistakes & all. THANKS.
IDK whether you've tried a LaRue trigger. I really like 'em. $100-$118, single & 2-stage, conventional & straight bow. Tool steel so consistent thru thousands of rounds.
I prefer two-stage; mine are absolutely reliable, crisp & consistent at 3 lbs. They offer a stronger spring for those who want a heavier pull weight.

I’ve used some of your loads (after verifying of course) in a 10.5” PSA with a can and haven’t had any issues. IMR4227 and H110/W296 work great w/ Hdy 208g ELD and Sierra 220g hpbt. I can’t find those 190g sub-x anywhere.

Best powder I found for 300 Blackout is Shooters World SBR Socom. It’s cleaner and functions the best.

I'm not going to correct you because you clearly know more than I do about loading. I just don't have the smarts yet to work out custom loads for all scenarios with powder. Lol
But I have 2 300 blk guns one is a 7.5" pistol and the other is a 16" rifle. The pistol is able to run anything. Subs, supers. and I have a krink brake on it so there is some back pressure added though not quite suppressor like. The 16" was a bit pickier. Subs did not run at all very undergassed. Also we are talking factory loads. I corrected this with the action spring going with a 300 blk specific Nemo Arms spring. (Lighter duty). My barrel is a BA barrel and because the gas port is a little undersized it needed a less powerful spring.
What ended up happening was subs ran great and supers were overgassed. Added an adjustable gas block and now I have a rifle that will run everything with the caveat that I have to turn the gas down for supers and up for subs. When I get my can I'll have the option to find settings for all scenarios.

Hey Shannon, when do you think we can start some Grendel loads again? I could use some help

Yea I’ve been told win 296 and H110 is the same powder as well. I use either of those 2 depending on what’s in stock. I haven’t seen a difference in velocities or accuracy with using both powders. I mainly load the berrys 220 gr 300 blackout bullets with 9.5 gr with 2.230 coal and average velocity of 964 fps out of a 10.5 BA barrel . I don’t use a adj gas block on it either and runs flawless supressed

Running 9.6 grains of 296 out of 8.5 and your right they run great. How's your accuracy at 50 and 100? I might give your coal a try and see if I get tighter groups. I've been loading my to 2.185 - 2.190 coal
