Agreed with your opinions :) the only thing is that I would say you need to reed Miller`s run to understand all the psychological breakdowns Matt goes through in Bendis`run... I am currently looking forward to reading Waid`s run!
Thank you so much. When it comes to characters with such a long run like Daredevil's, it becomes overwhelming to try to figure out where to start and what to read. This helped me a lot. I just finished Frank Miller's Man Without Fear and am now going to read his omnibus.
Really good overview of the biggest and must-get arcs. I did miss mentions of The Man Without Fear and Born Again from Miller, and Loeb's Yellow. Still have to read Bru's and Waid's runs. Really excited to read those.
Gene Colan really gave Daredevil his signature look, and I think all artists that came after him took inspiration for how he drew The Man Without Fear in some way or another. He has drawn over 90 Daredevil Issues over the years, more than any other artist. So I think to overlook his work when it comes to Daredevil is a mistake; it is well worth going back and reading the earlier Colan issues from Vol. 1, some of the stories can be campy, but by and large Daredevil has been a pretty solid book from start to finish.
I brought Born gain and gonna check out some of other comics in the video. Been reading Mark Waid's run from the start and loving it. Daredevil is almost a iconic chacrter as Batman
Great video!!!!! definitely gonna check out the recommendations, I myself started with the Mark Waid run and enjoyed it so much, but was bummed when it ended, now you've given me more runs to check out, thanks alot!!!!!
I'm pretty new to comics so this was a great video. I started reading Waid's run, and its really fun. I'm also going to start reading hawkeye, which looks really cool as well. Thanks for the tips!
Really good video mate. I am a big comic book fan. Although I like both Marvel and DC, I prefer DC, anyway I am trying to explore new characters. I felt that Daredevil seems kind of cool, so I wanted to know where to start. So I found this video very useful, keep up the good work.
Great Video. Love Daredevil, up to Volume 4 of Mark Waid's run. I love the oversized hardcovers. I have Bendis and Brubaker's collections on order, and treating myself to the Miller Omnibus for my birthday. Really enjoy your channel, keep up the great work :-)
I hope you've read the initial Marvel Knights Daredevil run by now! Both Kevin Smith and David Mack wrote stellar storylines and the art is Amazing!!! Quesada and Palmiotti deliver some of there best work ever, and can't forget about the marvelous coloring. Talk about a perfect team.
Great video. Each arc that you mentioned is awesome but I'd like to compliment the list with the Kevin Smith run (Guardian Devil). In my opinion, this run was responsible for Daredevil's resurrection
Thanks for making this video. I still have to complete my Animal Man, Aquaman, and Batgirl Collection I started as well as buying the Absolute Long Halloween. Once I get all of that I think I will start with the Daredevil Ultimate Collection. Keep up the great work
Great review, thanks. I was wanting to know how the later versions of DD are, having just bought Omnibus and Omnibus Companion. I'll buy Bendis, Brubaker, Wade next then I guess. Thanks again.
I am a huge DD fan and this was great. I think as far as Marvel goes there isn't a hero that tops him. Spidy could give him a run but I think Matt has the edge for me personally. Great advice for people interested in the character.
Don't know if you've already done one because I don't have time to look through all your vids right now, but I'd love to see a video like this for Spider-Man.
Super great video. Elektra was one of the first superhero movies I saw as a kid, and therefore I've always been interested in reading Daredevil. I'll definitely be picking up Frank Miller's run so I can read her origin story! I really love old school artwork.
I'm not, but I've heard great things so I plan on starting soon. The first trade comes out in November, so I'll definitely pick that up and then move on to single issues from there. :)
Great video really opened my eyes to the bendis daredevil but if the frank miller omnibus collects his whole run than what's in the companion that is incredibly difficult to find?
dude love the videos keep up the great work dreally wanted to ur opinion on this because after watching the show show my first ever read of daredevil was "end of days" how did you feel about that book n d do you think itll ever be in the show ? plus does that tie into bendis run or not ?because i wanna read whatever had the closest tone to end of days because that was one of my favorite books even though matt murdock wasnt in it all that much obviously. also do you think that Mapone shoudl be nin more books as its own thing nt gonna spoil what it is for those who havent read it. anyway sorry for the long comment love the work dude and love all the suggestions youve made youve ruined my wallet man
Hey man, I just wanted to say that I have been watching your videos for a while now and I really wanted to thank you for your time to make these review videos, and where to start from for multiple runs of comics. Most of the comics I have purchased and started reading are from your suggestions and from my own interests of course, but I had a few questions for you if you don't mind giving me some feed back. First and foremost I'm a huge Daredevil fan and have started collecting from Frank Millers Omnibus, and his two trades Man Without Fear and Born Again, my first question is if its worth getting the Companion to Frank Millers Daredevil Omnibus?. Also I have seen Stan Lee's Omnibus on Daredevil as well and was wondering if that is also worth adding to my collection as well?. Any feedback that you can give me on your opinion would greatly appreciated. Keep up the good work and thank you once again for your time and efforts.
+maddenlax22 READ THE WHOLE COMMENT look I know I'm not Hardcover Reviews but I think I could give you some feedback. If u already decided on getting the frank miller omnibus I would definitely recommend going for the omnibus companion. What I mean is if u get one u owe it to urself to get the companion. I wouldnt go for the Stan Lee daredevil omnibus purely because of the amount of controversy surrounding the run. I think u should use that money to get the Mark Waid run or the Bendis run. Trust ME I think u will be more satisfied going for other things instead of the Stan Lee omnibus. IMPORTANT: Just noticed that u put that u already have The Man Without Fear and Born Again. If so DO NOT get the omnibus companion as it will be a waste of money because literrally those books that u have r the ones in the omnibus companion plus a few single issues. IT IS NOT WORTH IT. u will be paying too much money for it bc u would have probably already read 3/4 of the omnibus companion
I know this is an old vid, but hoping you can see this to help...is "Daredevil: The Man Without Fear" (Frank Miller and John Romita Jr) part of the same run as Miller's omnibus? Since it's a retelling of the origin story, should it be read before the omnibus?
If I'm relatively new to Daredevil (as in I've seen the show), do you think I could hop on the the Mark Waid run without having many problems? Also does the Frank Miller Omnibus include the Man Without Fear (the one by Frank Miller and John Romita Jr) #1 to 5, as I've just bough that one. Anyway thanks!
+ThrilledSpider In all honesty if u have general knowledge on the character u should be fine with the Mark Waid run. IT IS AMAZING. It does reference a few things here and there that happened it past comics but it is really easy to fill in the gaps. I would though recommend reading the Frank Miller omnibus first if possible as well as Born Again. BTW the Man Without Fear is not in the omniibus. It is though in the omnibus companion
Marco Alonzo get born again, it's the best marvel graphic novel and the best daredevil comic, it's a must read but if you are a big fan of daredevil you should get em both. man without fear is also amazing but born again is bettee, man without fear is the essential daredevil comic
Not exactly. The thing is there is a Frank Miller omnibus and there is also a Frank Miller omnibus companion. Now the man without fear is inside the omnibus companion but not the "original omnibus". So you would have to get both the frank miller omnibus and the companion in order to "officially" read the whole Frank Miller run. Hope that answers your question but really if ur only talking about the omnibus shown in this vid, then NO the the man without fear is not in it
Question: Is Daredevil a complex character? I'm interested in getting into the comic, but with me being a lover of literary fiction, I'm pretty demanding when it comes to characters. I loved multi-dimensional characters that have some sort of internal conflict, and I also like to see my characters grow or change in some way over the course of the story. Is this the case with Daredevil?
Hey people I have an important question, well I just found out about the existence of omnibus comic books. So basically does the Frank Miller omnibus contain exactly the same material as Frank Miller Vol1-3 comic books. Basically is the omnibus just those 3 books put together or is there any other additional issues or different material.
Hardcover Reviews DD yellw, DD born again and DD end of days are great too! in end of days bullseye kills DD right away....I am blowing cash on comics now once again....started with some classic batman/joker ones, deadpool max, and now hulk planet hulk/world war hulk/prelude to planet hulk and now was gonna get those daredevil volumes which should break my balls and wallet for a long ass while.....
Born again? Man without fear? Daredevil: yellow?
Come on dude... two words... Born Again!
Agreed with your opinions :) the only thing is that I would say you need to reed Miller`s run to understand all the psychological breakdowns Matt goes through in Bendis`run... I am currently looking forward to reading Waid`s run!
the Netflix series is amazing
Just a small correction. Marc Wolfman introduced Bullseye, not Frank Miller
*Marv
Thank you so much. When it comes to characters with such a long run like Daredevil's, it becomes overwhelming to try to figure out where to start and what to read. This helped me a lot. I just finished Frank Miller's Man Without Fear and am now going to read his omnibus.
Happy to help! Hope you enjoy it :)
Really good overview of the biggest and must-get arcs. I did miss mentions of The Man Without Fear and Born Again from Miller, and Loeb's Yellow. Still have to read Bru's and Waid's runs. Really excited to read those.
Where do Man Without Fear and Born Again fit in with the Miller Daredevil run?
Bookends. Man Without Fear is Miller's origin story for DD, while Born Again's the final chapter.
Daredevil will always be my favourite Marvel superhero by far even since I saw that episode of him in the 90's Spider-man animated series.

Great video!!!!! definitely gonna check out the recommendations, I myself started with the Mark Waid run and enjoyed it so much, but was bummed when it ended, now you've given me more runs to check out, thanks alot!!!!!
tv show series 2, it was really based off miller's daredevil! also punisher is based on daredevil vs punisher as well as mainly punisher max by ennis.
I'm pretty new to comics so this was a great video. I started reading Waid's run, and its really fun. I'm also going to start reading hawkeye, which looks really cool as well. Thanks for the tips!
Just ordered all 3 volumes of the man without fear, this video was very helpful thank you so much! You've just gained another subscriber :D
DD my all time favorite hero, great review. Cant wait to watch the new series.
Really good video mate. I am a big comic book fan. Although I like both Marvel and DC, I prefer DC, anyway I am trying to explore new characters. I felt that Daredevil seems kind of cool, so I wanted to know where to start. So I found this video very useful, keep up the good work.
Born Again and the Nocenti/Romita Jr run. Man Without Fear mini too. Born Again is the best thing Miller ever wrote.
Great Video. Love Daredevil, up to Volume 4 of Mark Waid's run. I love the oversized hardcovers. I have Bendis and Brubaker's collections on order, and treating myself to the Miller Omnibus for my birthday.
Really enjoy your channel, keep up the great work :-)
I'm not even new to this character and I still loved this video. So much insight and info I didn't know despite being a longtime daredevil reader
Another great vid. Man, thank you for all this.
Great video. Each arc that you mentioned is awesome but I'd like to compliment the list with the Kevin Smith run (Guardian Devil). In my opinion, this run was responsible for Daredevil's resurrection

Just ordered Vol. 1-3 of the Brubaker and Lark Ultimate Collections. Hopefully I can find Bendis's run for a fair price, too.
Frank Miller Companion is a must too? I’m guessing this was made before that came out. Your old videos are always suggested. Thanks
Great review, thanks. I was wanting to know how the later versions of DD are, having just bought Omnibus and Omnibus Companion. I'll buy Bendis, Brubaker, Wade next then I guess. Thanks again.
Really helpful video I can finally get into daredevil now.
I am a huge DD fan and this was great. I think as far as Marvel goes there isn't a hero that tops him. Spidy could give him a run but I think Matt has the edge for me personally. Great advice for people interested in the character.
Awesome video... I'm getting every last one of those graphic novels... can u give me a list....?? So I can save it to my Amazon account
Don't know if you've already done one because I don't have time to look through all your vids right now, but I'd love to see a video like this for Spider-Man.
I like DD the movie and always liked him as a kid, but kind of grown away from his comics. Wanted to learn more so thx for that & have a great day.
would really like your ed brubaker captain america guide for omnibus / hardcover collectors its so hard to find a good way to buy in to them
Super great video. Elektra was one of the first superhero movies I saw as a kid, and therefore I've always been interested in reading Daredevil. I'll definitely be picking up Frank Miller's run so I can read her origin story! I really love old school artwork.
are you reading the current Elektra series? it's great
I'm not, but I've heard great things so I plan on starting soon. The first trade comes out in November, so I'll definitely pick that up and then move on to single issues from there. :)
Great video and one question does the Miller collection have born again and man without fear and all that good stuff?
Surprised not to see DD: Yellow or the 1993 miniseries as an alternate jumping-in point, but otherwise this was a really good Daredevil crash course
I've been trying to get my hands on the omnibus versions of the Bendis run of Daredevil. But it has eluded me for years lol
great video man !!
love the tips, man, thats A LOT!!
Where the fuck is Man without Fear or Daredevil: Yellow?
should i get the omnibus for the Mark Waid run and how about the Brubaker run is that something I should look into
Great video really opened my eyes to the bendis daredevil but if the frank miller omnibus collects his whole run than what's in the companion that is incredibly difficult to find?
Great video!
where do you start with deadpool
Good video thanks for the tips.
plz guide for sincity comics there is big damn the hard goodbye and the whole set which one to buy
dude love the videos keep up the great work dreally wanted to ur opinion on this because after watching the show show my first ever read of daredevil was "end of days" how did you feel about that book n d do you think itll ever be in the show ? plus does that tie into bendis run or not ?because i wanna read whatever had the closest tone to end of days because that was one of my favorite books even though matt murdock wasnt in it all that much obviously. also do you think that Mapone shoudl be nin more books as its own thing nt gonna spoil what it is for those who havent read it. anyway sorry for the long comment love the work dude and love all the suggestions youve made youve ruined my wallet man

What about David Mack. I love his art but how was his Daredevil stories?

Guys does the frank miller Omnibus or the companion contain the Born Again run?
Awesome guide btw!
The companion contains born again, the man wothout fear and some spiderman stuff where daredevil appeared
Alright. I ended up ordering Born again as well since it was very cheap.
Thank you very much!
greaaaat video as always
I bought everything in this video except the omnibus. I have Frank Millers stuff across the 3 volumes and MWOF and Born Again
lol i am going for that as well
Thanks man! I got the omnibus of Bendis - btw nice medals and belts on your wall, do you practice a martial art? Jui jitsu maybe?
If I'm relatively new to Daredevil (as in I've seen the show), do you think I could hop on the the Mark Waid run without having many problems? Also does the Frank Miller Omnibus include the Man Without Fear (the one by Frank Miller and John Romita Jr) #1 to 5, as I've just bough that one.

Thanks, I'll have to check out the Frank Miller's Omnibus, although I have already read the Man Without Fear and quite liked it.
what about born again? everyone is talking about it and I was wondering if it is good
Do you recomend me this edition?
awesome videos dude. i cant decide should i get Man without Fear or Born Again?

Good video. Is Shadowland really that bad?

I loved multi-dimensional characters that have some sort of internal conflict, and I also like to see my characters grow or change in some way over the course of the story. +Dwayne Parker Very much so. Easily one of the most conflicted and emotionally deep characters in comics.
No Daredevil Yellow???
which of the frank miller omnibus am i supposed to read first? the omnibus or the companion?
oh and theres a new a character he falls in love with and he eventually marries, you dont really had to say that 😂. thank you for the great vid btw
you are the best!
What is Kevin smiths run? I have the guardian book but that's it?
It's just guardian devil and then parts of a hole, after that it's bendis.

So basically does the Frank Miller omnibus contain exactly the same material as Frank Miller Vol1-3 comic books. Saw the thumbnail and saw frank millers name... Will probably read it.
if i watch the daredevil series and then i read the bendis run , i will understand it or not?
Live To Rock Shouldn't have a problem.
Oka, thanks man keep the good work!!!
Can I just buy the companion omnibus? without the first omnibus
How many books are in the omnibus ?
Yes... You did destroy my wallet
Daredevil #241 Black Christmas. Have you read it?
thank you for this vid
hey man great review but why did you omit born again? thx
+jeeperscreepers7 That's part of Frank Miller's.
It's part of Omnibus Companion, but only Omnibus was reviewed. I have just bought both, highly recommended.
dont forget abt Daredevil Yellow
Tbh you might wanna start from the early 1964 run first before you start reading Frank Miller's run .
are the books spoils me for the Netflix series?
Shouldn't, the series are based on the comics but not direct adaptations
Pat P thx a lot Now im going to buy me the omibus
Finnrex Letsspiel Great, hope you enjoy it :)
Have you read Daredevil: Yellow ? If not you totally should ;) (it's great ^-^)
I see jiu jitsu medals.
Hey buddy great video! Daredevil is my favorite character. You should check out the reviews I've been starting about comics
is mark waid's entire run worth reading?
DEFINITELY. DD has the amazing borderline-arrogance attitude. U should definitely pick it up in paperbacks or hardcover
if there's one thing that's true above all else in this video: STAY AWAY FROM SHADOWLAND!!!!
So disappointing.
how can u call ppl crazy just because of bad writing, jeez damn first worlder
Go back to the cave of wonders you fuck
Frank Miller Companion is a must too? I’m guessing this was made before that came out. Your old videos are always suggested. Thanks
