Hey. The tattoo is a variation of her on my arm. She's covered up by the sheet surrounding her, blind, yet the ends are freely flowing. She's covered up but still wears nothing. The world knot surrounding her is broken at the top, the edges are made of flames. It looks like she's moving in and out of a mirror, but the mirror is unfinished. It's an idea I had when I was 18 and got my Christian parents to pay for that tattoo. It's a drawing I did at the time I was in the Army. I wish I was a better artist back then, but the guy who did it at my uncle's (at the time) illegal tattoo party with his biker friends was really good even after many beers. As for what it means? I was an edgy teenager with artsy ambitions who went off to war, had other things happen, just to work in a wearhouse and randomly post videos and comments. It also means that I might have some unresolved personality issues. Either way, to contrast this, I have another tattoo of 3 giant monster skulls spiked upon 4 stony spears with the words c'est la vie next to it. Yeah, the "death card" trope is always way misused in these movies. It's an Americanized idea and assumption that that card means its literal name. In many cultures, death is a new beginning. The beginning of truth. The beginning of the path of eternity. They use it as an evil and foreboding sign of the end in these cheesy movies as an ironic opposite of what it represents in other, and older, cultures.
If this was a better movie, they would have used the symbolism of the cards waaay more. Maybe have the characters exhibiting traits of the reverse side of the card that's going to kill them. Make the fool card the first kill, signifying the start of the journey. Have fun with it
If this was a better movie they'd have someone draw the death card, freak out, and then they'd be the only one who survived. The death card represented the end of their friend group, the end of their happy life. They're changed by what they went through.
This movie felt like it was written by people who think the audience is stupid and can't recognize bad writing and pacing. Two character are dead within 20 minutes. All of the jumpscares are so obvious I was literally rolling my eyes before most of them.
Oh man, I got two girls that also showed up late, took forever to settle right next to us, and spent the _entire_ movie on their phones and not looking at the screen (until the light got so distracting we asked them to turn it off after like 2 hours) The kicker is, it was a pre-showing of _Endgame._ The theater had been sold out for _weeks._ I have no idea why they were even there
One time i went to see a movie this couple were on their phones the whole movie and one of them called someone and proceeded to have a full on conversation with the person they calld throughout A GOOD PART OF THE MOVIE AND THEY WERE MOCKING THE MOVIE AND STUFF

I went to a theater to watch Dune in 70mm, which was always sold out so ya think ppl going would want to be there… and 4 ppl around me were constantly on their phones. Can we normalize kicking ppl out of movies for being on their phones? Especially since tickets are so pricy now.
Y’all, none of this is even the worst part. The credits say this movie is based on a book called Horrorscope. I looked it up, and the book is just about some high schooler killing his classmates in ways that match the school paper’s horoscope.

As someone who does tarot, this concept is very funny to me Because sometimes it feels like a damn horror movie with how blunt my deck will be. You don't read tarot, tarot reads YOU. The "it's an unwritten rule to not use someone else's deck" is also very funny because it jusr brings me back to when I was doing little readings for my friends using one of their decks that was cat themed so I'm just thinking about getting my shit rocked by kittens
I wondered what would've happened if they pulled an objectively not spooky card like The Sun. Would a joyous little man on a horse come and beat the shit out of you? Would the literal sun come down and fuck you up?

One of my friends asked what I thought of tarot because the trailers were cool. I also thought it was the worst horror movie so far this year. It was me and 2 college-aged girls behind me in the theater. I saw EVERY jump scare coming, and had zero reactions. I feel like for similar vibes (besides all the ones u showed) Open Graves is a good one. Its a group of friends with a cursed game board made from witches skin, blood and bones and each player starts dying in the way they did in the game. Its kind of like a slashiery version of Jamanjii combined with teen drama and mystery. Its a fun one. Also thank you for this! Ive been curious about this movie and im glad now i know not to waste time on it :)

There's a filipino movie with the same name. Tarot was my fave horror movie as a kid (along with feng shui), until now it remains a favorite. Idk if you'll like it tho, but I definitely recommend it. And I'm just now learning the full movie is on youtube. Brb, gonna watch it.

I feel like for similar vibes (besides all the ones u showed) Open Graves is a good one. Its a group of friends with a cursed game board made from witches skin, blood and bones and each player starts dying in the way they did in the game. Its kind of like a slashiery version of Jamanjii combined with teen drama and mystery. Its a fun one. Also thank you for this! Ive been curious about this movie and im glad now i know not to waste time on it :)

There's a filipino movie with the same name. Tarot was my fave horror movie as a kid (along with feng shui), until now it remains a favorite. Idk if you'll like it tho, but I definitely recommend it.

The part that frustrated me the most was in the bfs reading she clearly says he'd have to make a sacrifice or lose someone he loves. But that goes nowhere. What was the sacrifice? Getting dragged around by the devil tarot while his gf gets choked by big bad? Plus that stupid line about death. These writers need to stop making the final girl have a witty one liner.

7:00 people really have forgotten how to act in a theater. legit when I went to see John Wick 4 I had a 600 year old couple behind me and at one point... for 10 minutes straight a woman just started fucking with a worthers original wrapper or some shit light in my fucking ear behind my chair...... and her husband the whole movie " WOW HE SHOT THAT GUY" " woah HE JUMPED OFF THE BUILDING" "GEE WILLIKERS BATMAN HE PUNCHED THAT GUY IN THE FACE" " WOW YOU SURE DONT MESS WITH THAT GUYS DOG" just fucking narrating EVERYTHING happening on the screen.
