Here's my idea for the movie
-same premise basically
-they all die in natural ways so it's a little confusing for them
-they eventually find out about the demon and they bunker down, use one of their friends for bait, and get ready to kill it
-they could use the priest or something
-through out the movie "the final countdown" plays faintly until the last few moments
that's kinda like the final destination tho
Basically final destination, but actually showing a demon instead of a metaphorical or mysterious angel of death type figure hiding in the shadows.
When I watched this the first time, I didn't realize for some reason that the ghost was supposed to look like the grim reaper, and thought he was just some ghost wearing a giant trash bag. It made the movie experience better, tbh
There is a movie called the VelociPastor about a pastor who gains the powers to turn into a velociraptor and one night a prostitute tells him to use it to fight evil and he does... look it up

I'd watch that
I think an important piece of nuance was that the demon gets to kill people that avoid their fated death. The first chick was supposed to die in the car accident and the app allowed her to avoid that. The dude was supposed to die on the operating table but he was busy freaking out in the stairwell. I'd imagine beck was supposed to die fighting the doctor and the demon interrupted and she died on her fated time by injection. There might be a little more nuance on that last bit between death and the demon changing the rules but who knows.
Since it's an app, just watch an ad for 1 extra life duh.

The Double Dream has happened to me a couple of times though. It mostly happens when I realize I'm dreaming and the dream is very stressful and I'm like okay this sucks I'd like to tap out now so I try to wake up but instead I just lucid dream myself into waking up in my dream and it just continues into another stress dream.
The last time this happened to me, i tried to wake myself up by being annoying. For context, i was in my middle school classroom taking a test and i try to do stupid stuff to try to wake up. This is my take on "tapping out" of a dream and for me, i dont lucid dream, so i just woke up after lmao

You hear all sorts of things like "if you look at your hand you won't have the right amount of fingers", that you can't read in dreams, or the classic that you should pinch yourself to know if you're dreaming. But I can feel pain in dreams, I can feel cold, I can feel heat, I can feel pressure and texture and wetness.
And everytime I find a "tell" to know I'm dreaming it feels like my brain tries to patch it and ways I was able to know before don't work anymore, tricks to wake myself don't work anymore. The rules change like my own mind is purposely trying to trick me. Such was "waking up" but I'm not really awake.

This movie really missed out on some horrifying scenarios involving the creeping dread of having too *long* to live. Like a character trying to break the curse by jumping off a building before it's their time, but Ozhin won't LET them die and they end up paralysed, unable to speak or move, for months or more...
Or someone hacks the code to make themselves live until they're 100, and Ozhin says "You know what? Fuck it. Sure. No death until you're 100, prick." and the next day, their car runs off the road and crashes into a ravine where they're not likely to be found... and they physically can't die, so they have to live 70~ years in agony, trapped in the wreck, likely being eaten by vultures but *unable to die...*
Or even something like a person being kidnapped and realising that their time remaining is too short to suggest they'll be rescued, but long enough for them to know they won't be killed straight away...
Honestly, sounds like a moody anthology film or Junji Ito short story collection more than anything ^_^

Bizarrely in high school I wrote a short story with a very similar premise and payoff. But it was set in the early 1800s, so instead of an app it was an invention some drifter claimed to have made. And when the main character "payoffed" himself he stayed dead. It was my angsty teen version of a romanticism story about free will. Also it was called Death Clock.

I hate when movies do this, nothing happened in this film - Beck destroyed the app by killing herself, but also she survived and the app survived. What's the significance of this entire plot? What are the consequences? WHAT'S THE POINT
The first death was actually suprisingly pretty strong. I like the fact that they showed the car as well to convey that she couldn't have escaped her destiny even if she tried.
I would of rather watched the cutscene where fiora dies it shows you that even though shulk can see the future he cant always change it and also because that game is amazing and this movie is garbage
i noticed that if she were in the car accident, she would have been flung forward, but she was facing up, right? maybe that's why she mysteriously flew up.

Only few minutes in, but so far it sounds like a weird mix of Death Note (the pretty much unavoidable death, at least unavoidable when you dowload the app and find out how long? Like when your name is written in the notebook. Might be a bit of a stretch though, I don't know), Mirai Nikki/Future Diary (the phone telling you who's going to die), and all the Final Destination movies (similar way as Death Note. can't escape death and possibly dying in bizarre ways)

The guy who played Father John played Isaac in Final Destination 5 (the creep who got his head crushed by a Buddha statue).
While the screaming is annoying, I like the choice of making the app/phones becoming a literal banshee considering you only see and hear them when you are about to die.
The whole “using a dead corpse to unlock a phone” is actually a real thing. My cousin has an internship with a coroner office and they had to do that for an OD case to find who sold the person the drugs. Its actually pretty interesting.

The idea of something that tells the characters when they're going to die can be really cool if it's used well. It also usually works better if it's more vague, like only telling people what day they'll die rather than the exact second.
It'd be cooler if it updated with scenarios, like they're going on a mission and it says 1 hour, then one of them grabs a Kevlar vest and it jumps up to a few years. Then one of them goes and buys a dimebag of some horse and it jumps down to an hour, etc.
Usually this premise is with the main character gaining the supernatural power of being able to tell everyone's death date except their own.
