This will come up on a building inspection creating internal damp as the bricks wont be able to dry out. Should have a gap and barrier between the post and the wall.
Am I correct in seeing that at 8:03 your hinges were put on the wrong side of the gate but was corrected by 8:23 before you installed it? Very nice video btw. A shout out from Houston, Texas via Little Rock, Arkansas.
@@homeimprovements You boys have helped me out, subscribed in your early days, simple instructions to follow for the average competent diyer😘. My panelling looks awesome thanks to you. Much love boys👊🏾
I find building a frame around the edge adds too much weight to the gate. I try and keep it as light as possible. I use 3 strips of wood at the top, middle and bottom and two diagonal braces around 30 degrees. So the gates the same as yours but without two side pieces.
Why do you keep giving away trade secrets that have taken people years and years to fine tune. I just encourages piss poor workmanship from people that think they can do it but can’t. It’s not just you it’s all the other influencers but on the flip side I get called out to fix a all the husbands 💩 attempts
I don’t see it that way personally Liam people who want to try should have a guide but there’s unlimited people who even with a tutorial would rather pay and are just interested in the methods etc. example I’ve watched rugs being cleaned on RUclips I can guarantee I’ll still pay for the service but find it interesting 😊👍🏼
This is a great video thank you. What size forsener bit do you use in the wall post please? I struggled with that step when I did it last year and it still wobbles 🫣
I used to think that you guys were just silly. Now I think that you are simply the best. Cheers.

Should use tork fixing there the future and a lot stronger 😊
Not a bad shout ✅🙌
That's so great x well done. Would there be an easier way to do it with just a drill and a hand saw? Perhaps a more temporary but efficient gate?
Maybe will do a video on a cost effective gate. In the future 😊
Great video, did you just use standard wall plugs and wood screws to attach the post to the brickwork?
That’s correct 🙌
I’ve just built my first gate using half lap joints in 4x2 with decking cladding. It weighs 38kg what hinges did you use?
Gatemate ones absolute monster ones
Nice used the same on mine. £40 on hinges was a bit ridiculous though
no glue on the half laps?
Guys, where are the yellow safety glasses from plz
Need some NOW !!! 🤣
🤣 unilite and free25 is our discount code if you want it 😊
How do you carry sheet material with that van set up?
This van not setup for sheet material
We have another van if we need to collect material, 90 percent of the time we get it delivered to site 🙌
Cheers

Honestly there’s a few methods to building a gate this is the way we have been taught that’s all 😊
Did you seal the bottom of the post too?
No need they were uncut 😊
So if the neighbour wants to open their gate they have to open both ? 😂
Temp yes
@@homeimprovements hope you get on with them 🤣
There's nothing you guys can't do 🤷🤷🤷
