reckon you have been unscammed with that roof now being on! before the heavens really opened a few days later in comparison to what these lads had to deal with
I love the quality of your work and the explanations you give, not too technical ( boring for the casual viewers ), but useful for the people who want to try doing something in this genre.
Love the channel guys 👍👍👍this is what you call quality work no short cuts with these guys if I had to get any work done I’ll be calling them they are worth every dollar 👌👌👌
The fake grass will make such a difference to the sound within the garden room when it rains. I had the stretched rubber roof on a wet room extension and for months it sounded like a drumskin in the rain.
I agree it looks nice but think they'll live to regret the artificial grass when it gets smothered in algae from the overhanging trees and turns into a slab of slime....
Nice to see @MJTiffPlumbing there to do the plumbing. Top bloke. I’m a plumber from the south west and always watch him. Definitely worth checking out his channel too.
Had my roof done and the facias were bloody awful!! Seeing how you lot do them really makes a HUGE difference with the overall quality look! Gonna have to rent out a scaffold tower and redo mine now lol!
The Builders that you have working on your second ( dog not Kevin )house are excellent. Not being in the building trade, I’ve been impressed and amazed at the amount of work and materials used in the complete building. I’m absolutely certain that a beer or two will be consumed once it’s inhabited by you and your gang!
I'd put a timber upstand round side to stop water coming off round the primitor. Part from the back for the rain to come off . Plus we put the flashings on round edge to hold rubber down then we use a clean blade knife and cut rubber after as might cut rubber to short .nice job tho 🙌
As a sparky who hates house bashing due to the feeling of trades working against each other rather than with each other.. I would absolutely love to house bash with you guys you done a top job👌
Brilliant job, lads. Shame you did not line the vents up on the soffits and could have used a soffit joiner instead of glueing an offcut of fascia joiner
Brilliant guys, I have watched this whole series, I wish we had tradies who have as much pride in there work as you do down under. Ours are lazy and always taking short cuts, the quality of there work is nowhere near yours! Great work
It’s the umbrella on the roof that got me!! Oh, and Handbrake: a brake operated by hand, used to hold an already stationary vehicle 😂😂 Looking top dollar 👌
Great to watch the build except for the plaster board in the bathroom. Plasterboard (drywall) isn't suitable for use behind tiles in a shower because it is not water-resistant, you should use a material designed to withstand prolonged water exposure, such as: Cement Board (e.g., HardieBacker or Durock), Foam Backer Boards (e.g., Kerdi Board or Wedi Board), and Waterproof Membranes for extra protection, especially if using cement board, a waterproof membrane (like Kerdi or RedGard) can be applied over the surface to ensure that no water can penetrate the wall, and ensure that your shower remains durable and resistant to water damage for many years. Secondly, on the outside where the holes are drilled in the wood, field mice can get in the gaps between the pipes and the siding, so those too need to be sealed. Mice can squeeze through incredibly small spaces-as small as 6 mm (1/4 inch), which is about the size of a pencil. To prevent mice from entering, you can pack around the pipe with:Steel Wool: Mice are unable to chew through steel wool effectively, making it a great barrier, especially in combination with other materials. After packing with steel wool, you can apply a layer of expanding foam that is designed to be pest-resistant. This helps seal the gap completely and provides an added layer of protection. Lastly, for a more permanent solution, especially for masonry walls, using cement-based mortar or high-quality silicone caulk after packing with steel wool provides an effective and long-lasting seal. Caulk can be applied around smaller gaps, while mortar is better for larger spaces in brick or concrete walls. I love the green roof, it sure is amazing to watch this build. Thanks for taking us along.
Thanks mate the plasterboard there good reason and itlll become clear on the next video and the hole on the pipe work again we have something lined up for that 😁😁
Life hack for the 50 mil cut around the edge of the rubber. We created a guide with a wood batten and plank. Nail the batten to the plank leaving 50 mil underneath so then the batten sits on top of the roof you can run a stanly knife along the bottom of the wood plank
As soon as the supply pipe work was installed Steel plates should have been nailed on the surface of all studs where a pipe passes through to stop anyone driving a nail or screw into the pipe as it passes through the stud, it’s standard practice.
Ideally moisture board (blue) or hardiebacker for the wet areas and tanked. If water seeps through the silicon and grout at any time and gets onto the gypsum, that’s game over.
Plasterboard should terminate and change to cement board within the shower cubicle unless you are installing wet wall. Unless that is water resistant board you are installing. I have attended quite a few jobs where the plasterboard has collapsed behind the tiles.
Deffo be holding next World Cup up there boys !! 👊🏼 Well done fellas absolutely ripped it a new arse hole !! Top workmanship ! You boys are onnit no messing ! 💪🏼💪🏼
I'm about to start framing and boarding this weather is shit, how worried I should be about the Osb3 with the weather and I'm building on concrete slab with 1 course of blue bricks. Likely to fill up like a pool 😂 obviously I'm diy so can't smash loads out in a day and I'm working full time as well
After all the expence and quality work you cheap out with a shower tray ,, searously ,,, I was expectiong much more ..never the less I guess the budget had to be met ,,,
All good boys, but your fitted soffit wrong way around vents are supposed to be at far end and 45° cut soffit on the corners would give much nicer look. Apart of that all good. 👍

🤣
I'll probably never do this, but its so relaxing to watch the build

When I did mine, I glued the rubber EPDM then put the facia boards on to trap it.
I used rubber4roofs too and soooooo much better than shingles

The fact that the Trim Polytops on the side @13:45 arent in Line with the facia ones is KILLING ME!
I know that’s on me that one
I would of thought its better to have joins staggered? Not aesthetically but for purpose?

Guys get yourself a painters pole for your rollers, saves your back. And makes it a lot quicker applying the glue 👍

I normally add a nail in each curb and gutter join trim on the rubber roof, as they can be prone to popping off or expanding in the heat
