Brilliant as usual. I’ve just watched this cried my eyes out all the way through. My partner wanted to build one of these for us but sadly I lost him to cancer last summer. His friend said he’d make it for me and I won’t say publicly what I have. It ain’t like your one. No beautiful joints, or square. It cost me a fortune too. Your one is amazing. Even though I’m a tad sad, you guys make me smile. I’m so pleased you show everyone how it’s done. AND with banter too x
a carpenter could do this on the ground and make it mm perfect with a tad more detail. not taking anything away from these boys of course, still a good job no doubt.
Absolutely amazing, great workmanship. Been looking for a video like this for months , when my patio is complete I will attempt this in September. Thank you 👍
Nice pergola. When I have lots of little patterns like that, I find it easier to do one pass with the router on one side, use a jigsaw to roughly cut it to the pattern leaving about 3mm and then flip it over and use a flush cut bit to finish the rough cut part to match the first pass, saves doing a lot of router passes and leaves a nice finish. You can also batch it, so one pass with the router on all, jigsaw on all, flush cut on all
This is class 👏 I absolutely love my sliding chop saw. I've only got a Titan ttb794msw but for my diy level skills it makes jobs so much quicker and cleaner 😎
Amazing video loved every minute of watching that and the banter keeps you engaged too! I started with high intentions on trying this myself then saw how indepth it when i decided to take a hard pass on that😂 Great work though lads
Having discovered you lads by pure accident for bit of how to, have now been given a list as long as my arm, buy her indoors of things she wants me to d0 😊
Not been long since discovering your brilliant videos. Can you give me a link to the DP tape you wrapped around the posts. Been searching the net but can't find it. Cheers boys, keep up the great work.
Guys a question for ya,what size beams/rafters you used on this pergola? And do you think postcrete is strong enough to hold the whole pergola in place? Thank you m,great job im looking to do pergola as well just finished patio,i like your style that you did there
This is great thanks lads, learnt a lot and was entertained Ive got to ask, whats with all the different colours and shapes of screens in this persons garden though?! Do they own shares in the company
Hey guys could you do a video installing laminate in an older house on wooden floorboards? Or can you recommend the best underlay to take out any unevenness in the sub floor
I realise it may just not be on the video but it doesn't look like you treated any of the cut ends, tenons, lap joints, mortices with wood preserver. Barrattine Cut End Preserver would be perfect for that. Pressure treatment only goes a few mm into the wood so if you cut the end, notch out etc you expose untreated wood. There's no glue in those joints so water will track in and the tenons will rot off if not treated.
Impressive! Our local timberyard has just closed down after 100 years....only choice locally we have now is wickes and B&Q.....3 times the price!...😢@homeimprovements
Guys, just noticed your thumbnail after watching the vid. Are you for real, 7 hundred brick for entire materials? I normally use PGR, but your supplier blows them out of the water.
@21:56 Why do so many people disregard their own health and not wear dust mask. Don't ruin your personal health for a professional job. Great video though guys but FFS look after yourselves.

6x2 for this span mate and Yh post Crete is fine for this 😊
@@homeimprovements thanks a lot, really enjoyed your video guys
Another great job chaps! is there a difference between a joist and a rafter?
Would it be possible to build the same structure you have here but on decking? What would be the best way to secure the posts to the deck? Thanks!
Not sure on that tbf 😊
This is great thanks lads, learnt a lot and was entertained
Ive got to ask, whats with all the different colours and shapes of screens in this persons garden though?! Do they own shares in the company
Thanks and long story about the screens 😂😂😂

We have done a video on this, hope it’s helpful 😊

Great video guys, lovely work as usual but where did the £700 come from? I just priced up a similar pergola and the timber alone was £450 :D
That was just materials mate 😊👌🏼
@@homeimprovements ah gotcha! Makes sense, cheers! :)
Great work boys just wanted to know how many days it took? 2-3?
5 Day as we was filming the whole process. However if you wasn’t filming 2-3 days is definitely possible 😊
For the dowel, a 21mm hole with a Forstner bit was mentioned, All I can find is 22 or 22.2 7/8 dowel Were you hammering a 22 into a 21 hole for fit?
May have been a 22mm 🤔
Nice work lads. However, with the dowels, should they be draw and off set by 2 mil?
Thanks 😊
❤️
I wish a list of materials was provided...
Great guys
What are the dimensios of the pergola?
3x4.8m mate 😊👌🏼

£700 of materials I assume? Nice work
That’s it 😊
Where did you get your posts from? Thanks
Mgn builders merchants 😊
@@homeimprovements thanks
Lads what’s the sizes of the posts and the beams used here.
They tell exactly at 01:07 Installing Timber Posts
@@EjDanteslegend 🫡
@@EjDantesdoes he mention the size of the beams?
How long did it take from start to finish?
5 days we was filming so probably 3 days without 😊
Looks great but all that massive timber would cost more then £700 these day surely!
That’s what it cost with postcrete as well
Impressive! Our local timberyard has just closed down after 100 years....only choice locally we have now is wickes and B&Q.....3 times the price!...😢@homeimprovements
Why do you not cut the wooden dowels flush please ?
Traditional to leave them proud 😊
like browski
What size is the pergola.????
4.8 x 3 I believe it was 😊
deffo on day rate
How much for pergola to build please,
how much would be a fair quote if you were getting someone else to do this for you
That’s amount of work I’d say 3-5k depending on area access etc etc 😊
You should have treated all the cuts you made.
Yeah we could have for extra protection ✅
Guys, just noticed your thumbnail after watching the vid. Are you for real, 7 hundred brick for entire materials? I normally use PGR, but your supplier blows them out of the water.
MGN is Very affordable give them a try 😊
@21:56 Why do so many people disregard their own health and not wear dust mask. Don't ruin your personal health for a professional job. Great video though guys but FFS look after yourselves.
How much did you pay for materials???
£700
😊
@@homeimprovementsThanks for the answer. I didn't see that in the description... and the TITLE 😬
