The ISO version adds TIMECODE to each recording. For those of us who do not have cameras advanced enough to have timecode built in, this is a huge benefit in syncing the content, even when you export to Final Cut.
I really appreciate the details and to the point such as needless for explanation but facts and some supporting examples. Great video.
Great comparisons on the video switchers.
extremely helpful content. Thank you very much!
Very helpful! Thanks so much 🙌🏽
Thank you Cherrelle Crews!
Love your practical approach..subscribed
Thank you for watching!
Thanks for the great info
After watching your videos I think I'm going to just go with the pro; iso recordings would be great, but I really need to be able to get that webcam feed from the atem to obs on my computer. SD Cards are cheap and easy enough to deal with if I ever need recordings of each feed for some reason
Very Informative. Thanks!
Thank you Dayill
Hey Steph. Thanks for the Video. Atem Mini Pro for Me
Very helpful! I am deciding between the ISO or the pro but don't have $300 to spare really and seeing if its worth it. I think I'll go with the Pro. It fits my process for now. Hopefully I won't regret it
Hi Syz honestly either one of the Atems will suit your needs well. Saving the $300 you can buy some good SD cards to record the videos separately if needed!
Steph, I just got the mini pro but wondering if I should exchange it for the ISO. I want to record all 4 inputs simultaneously and I believe only the ISO will do that. Would I lose any capability by exchanging the pro for the ISO?
Very informative. Thank you
Thank you for watching!
Does the simple pro version create Resolve projects files as well or only the iso version does that ?
Do I need a 'special' monitor to connect to ATEM Mini Pro for multi view
or may I use any monitor to connect the HDMI output to view the multi
view screen?
Hi Yeshu any monitor should do but I have read that some monitors cannot read the signal so please be sure to test it before making any purchase.
Hello! Thanks a lot for the very informative video. One question. I have a wedding where the place has a very weak internet, so we will first record the ceremony 'live', then upload the final output to RUclips, and then 'premiere' it there. My question is regarding the QUALITY of this final output file ATEM Mini Pro - or ISO - produces. My requirement here is only regarding the local recording quality (the maximum possible), so when we upload it to RUclips, the result will be great. Do you know the bitrate of the 1080p output ATEM Pro / ISO produces? Thanks again!!
Hi Wagner I'm not too sure of the bitrate I think u can find it on the internet or on BMD's website but so far what I know from experience
1. Records in h.264
2. Mp4
3. VERY usable and good quality.
The quality is definitely usable even for ur wedding day video highlights edits, which is what I do for myself
@@StephLeeTech Great sir! Thank you very much for the reply! It seems a very good deal indeed. Might purchase is soon. Keep up with this great channel.
nice presentation with clearity
Thank you! I hope I have helped you in some way or another.
Great video
Thank you!
Wow! Great video with practical opinion, love your honesty. I am actually planning to buy one soon.
Thank you for watching!
I hate how on both of these ATEM You can only live stream through the USB which means you can't record while you're streaming. At least when it comes to using stream yard. Or am I missing something here? I would love to be able to go through the ethernet but streamer doesn't recognize it and I wanna stream through multiple platforms simultaneously. Is there a way to stream through Multiple platforms like RUclips Facebook linked and etc Through the ethernet? This way I can use the USB out to record
Hey neofilm, I don't use stream yard, actually I seldom even use other software like OBS etc, I find the AMP powerful enough to handle most of the requirements I have with my clients. Why don't you do a direct connection via ethernet to your AMP from your computer? Then you can stream to RUclips or Facebook etc. But if you are talking about streaming to multiple platforms in one stream you can try CASTR which I did a review in my latest video. Hope this helps!
at 6:03 you dont use Davinci Resolve, what program are you using to do the conversion?
Hi what I meant was if you don't use DaVinci Resolve for editing your whole video projects... but at 6:03 you can download DVR (it's free anyway :) just for the purpose of exporting it to FCPX. Hope that explains!
Does the Atem record your camera cuts in the final project or just sync all of your clips?Example if I switch cameras during my recording is all of that captured or do I have to make those cuts again when I export to my editing software?
Everything is captured, even the ones with no cameras connected :p Don't ask me why! LOL
@@StephLeeTech I don’t know if I like your channel yet. On one hand you are super informative but on the other hand your are costing me way too much money I’ll keep liking for now but you are on notice sir.
@@404creators8 Hey 404! You don't have to like my channel, I'm not doing this full-time anyway :p I just hope that if my videos give you at least 1% of information, then I am happy that I have succeeded.
Hey bud thank you sooooo much for making this video, I’m just a amateur RUclipsr, I do art tutorials & just paint for fun, but I’m wanting to set up 2 more cameras & I will maybe once in a blue moon do a live stream, I’ll pretty much be using this so I can record multiple cameras at once & then edit it before uploading to RUclips. I’m thinking the “PRO” is all I need do you think I’m on the right path, again all I’m want to do if record with 3 cameras at the same time, so I can edit after I film before uploading to RUclips & maybe once in a blue moon I’ll go live.
Thank you in advance, I hope you can point me in the right direction 🙏
Hey thanks for watching! In your case I would recommend recording in camera, that is the safest option.
So upon contacting BM, the ISO recordings only work with BM cameras, as also listed in the PDF.. hmm
Not really true... I'm using my Panasonic GH5 and it works :)
@@StephLeeTech I can confirm that the ISO can be used with any camera with HDMI out, even with SDI with HDMI converter. It requires all cameras to be at the same resolution and frame rate. What we don't get with non BMD cameras are the extra features the 4K and 6K camera offer in the ATM Mini pro ISO. But these features only apply to the newest BMD cameras listed above, no to previous models.
ISO is NOT ISO! Please help us as a community. The ISO recordings are only Video ISOs!! The audio is totally corrupted, as all ISO recordings have Program mixed audio tracks. What you have to do is go into the Audio ISO folder to find the, let's say CAM 3 audio. The problem is is that there is no easy way to re-sync the ISO audio with the ISO video clip because as the audio track on the ISO video recording does not have the same waveform to referent to, because it is corrupted as a program audio mix. What's up with that? and can you tell us all how to fix this terrible oversight by Black Magic?
The pro would be best fit for me but the ISO is available, unlike the pro.
Do you work with black magic 🤔you got it right on upgrade #extreme 👏👏
Thanks Caleb for watching!
This video supposed to be a comparison between the two, not instructions or tutorial on how to use the functions!
Great info! I have the atem mini pro iso. Btw, Does anyone know how to use the usb port as an input? This is to connect my external soundcard.
Hi ML TV I don't think you can use the usb-c as a connection to your external soundcard.
@@StephLeeTech I thought so.. That'd be amazing if I could.
