I’m old. Listened to this song most of my life. It always hit me in a great way. I started guitar a couple years ago. It really hits me now that I am learning to play it, The absolute beauty and genius of Lindsey.
James you are an incredibly gifted guitarist. It amazes me how you can listen to a song and transpose it to guitar so eliquently. You also have an excellent teaching style that everyone can follow and learn. Thank you. Keep those classic acustic rock songs coming.......
James, I have a really hard time learning on these videos and yours has been my favorite so far sound wise. It's something that just prevents me from learning quickly and on the spot, if you have these cords written down anywhere I would be so incredibly grateful and would even pay for them.
I don't write down chords or use tabs, I only play by ear. But setting that aside, why do you feel like you have to learn things quickly or on the spot? Take as much time as you wish. You can watch lesson videos as many times as you need to. Learn at your own pace, not somebody else's.
Thank you for the response. I have a particular way of learning, and unfortunately I'm too early in my music life to have the skill to listen by ear. I'm watching your videos several times to try to write down the chords that you play. I'm not even really trying to learn quickly... I definitely misspoke. I've learned to work with my learning hang-ups, And when I say quickly sometimes I mean efficiently. I understand that sometimes I come off as urgent. I have ADHD, anxiety, and three kids under the age of six, so when I'm trying to learn a song I'm trying to focus on it as much as possible. I became frustrated when I had to replay your video in some spots several times just to find the chords, sometimes still not figuring it out, and it's not really your problem, but that's why I was asking.
one of my favourit songs. thank you James. please give me the strumming pattern. there is a a small note between the D and the G2B2. i don't get it but i really want to learn this song. keep up the good work and vaya con Dios
Thank you for posting this excellent tutorial! Around a dimly lit campfire with enough background noise, I can almost make this sound good on my guitar!
I haven't been able to play for a couple of weeks and looking for inspiration to get back into it, and typically you have just provided it! How did Fleetwood Mac do it? Their songs remain magical despite the passage of time. I suppose a combo of great songwriting, performance and production.
The instruments you hear at the beginning of Sara are the piano and hammer dulcimer.. Plenty of recordings of the hd on YT so that you'll be able to pick it out when you go back to listen to Sara again. That's part of the reason it sounds so unique. Unique instrument playing in it.
Its the third time you literally read my mind James James. Ive been hearing this song this week after years without listening to it, and I though “I need to check out with James James has covered it”. Swear to God! And now you posted this. Last time it happened it was with a McCartney song.
Thank you James - this is where my lack of music theory shines. I've been playing for years and this track is one of the sweetest tunes I couldn't play until I saw this and 20 minutes later I'm playing it..the problem with being self taught means I stumble across pieces of the puzzle which takes years! Sorry for the long text but I didnt have time to write a short thank you so thank you! ✌ and luv dude
James...thanks once again. You translate these complex sounding chord progressions classics into easy lessons for others to pick up and play within minutes !!! Hallmark of a genius / master guitarist !
Always liked this one. Good lesson JJ, I must be making progress. I went from not understanding what the heck you were talking about (many years ago) I can follow you fairly well now.
I'm not loyal to any brand, I just buy them on ebay, a half-dozen at a time. The springs wear out after a while, then I just get new ones. But you're not alone, I've always had to do a little re-tuning when I put a capo on or take it off.
Love the way you play this. Please call out the chords next time for us newbies - still can’t figure out which was the third chord you played at the 0:52 make …. Pulling my hair out…,
G string 6th fret, B string 7th fret, high E string 5th fret. If you can't tell what it is, don't pull your hair out -- just experiment with fingerings that look close to what I've shown. Looking at the screen, there are literally only a handful of possibilities as to what I'm playing on that chord. As I've noted many times, my videos aren't intended for newbies, they're intended for people who already know how to play guitar and want to learn how to play by ear.
alvaro I own the Epiphone version of this guitar. Not as good sounding as Gibson but a fraction of the price and a great guitar for the money. (Epiphone is owned by Gibson I believe).
This song is sublime. I get teary-eyed every time I hear it. No particular reason other than I'm emotional.
its a very haunting emotional tune sung by arguably the most sultry voice of all time...peace
I get very...what? Melancholy? Wistful? Regardless, a very intimately moving song.

🤔 But, it's Stevie Nicks who wrote this song ! She has a very personal style, Sara, Dreams...

You have the best songs and lessons. I’m learning how to play guitar thanks to you.
This is my fave FM tune. Thanks!
I remember the first time I ever heard this on the radio I still get goose pimples every time I hear this beautiful masterpiece
Thanks so much for this one James, it's an incredible song.
Getting in late on the comments but I've been following you for a while. Thank you for the lessons.
Kind of like watching Tiger swing a club.. It LOOKS easy
Great tune...
So so helpful really is 😊

Great Lesson here! The 2nd guitar in regular tuning can play Intro/Verse by strumming: Fmaj7( 133210 ) Cma7 ( ( 33200 ) ://

i know i’m quite late, but that guitar is absolutely beautiful.
You always cut to the point and make these popular songs so easily playable. THANKS!
What capo do you use James, mine always throw the guitar out of tune

Ya I saw James Taylor on utube explain how he has to make all types of adjustments in tuning because of capos..
I like the Kaiser's personally there affordable and they're easy.
Awesome tutorial man!!👍
