Wow, that skeevy Daniel video was a good find. I’ve never heard that part so clear before. It’s very interesting to hear the quieter supporting pieces that hold songs together. I’m looking forward to learning this!
Studio musician Elliot Randall played the awesome lead on Reelin’… Afew youtube interviews about it. The 2nd take was used because the engineer didn’t push Record for the first take.
Whoa.... Loving the rhythm lesson for this! You don't see a rundown of that section too often! THANK YOU! Oh by the way, I want that $&*#^*@ shirt! I read that book all the damn time as a kid!! LOL!
Once again I bow to the guitar god in you! That first run up the neck piece is so close (if not exact) to the opening riff of Any Major Dude. I never would have put that together. This is why we need the James James channel.
the iconic solo was recorded through a old ampeg bass amp, using a early 60`s strat and that`s about it.
James: "There is no part, so I made up my own." Love it. Great vid.

That rhythm reminds me a lot of the Yes song, "I've Seen All Good People" when it breaks out into a groove halfway through.
I remember QUAD! But i was in my late teens in the early 70"s. I am impressed that YOU remember Quad!
Awesome breakdown.
I think you did an awesome job on this. Man , too cool James. Thanks Brother
You wouldn't know a diamond if you held it in your hand / The things you think are precious I can't understand
