+James James If not the best song..... then arguably one of the best and most highly talented bands ever. Three incredible singers, five virtuoso multi instrumentalists. From the first time I saw them at MSG with Dylan, to the last time that I saw Levon and Garth at the Midnight Ramble, I have never been so impressed by a live act (and I see 100 every year). I really miss the Allman Brothers March run at the Beacon, but it's nothing compared the void left by the loss of The Band.

Hey man bummer about all the negative Trolling you experienced as PT glad you are still posting, I subscribed backin 08 or 09 and always found all your videos enjoyable and extremely helpful!!
I stopped gigging out in 89 after going into business for myself and pretty much stopped playing altogether after 95. After my divorce in 07 I started playing again and had lost most of my chops. When I found your channel I became your student, and my go to guy. The only negative thing I ever thought about you was what the heck does this guy do for a living to be able to afford all these awesome guitars, lol! You the Man! !

James - ran into your love in vain tutorial and loved your easy going style and just wanted to tell you thank you - I play out and wanted to add that classic to my set - I was horrified but not surprised when I watched your final clip from the PT site and listened to your comments - your wife really what a bunch of fools - they live sad lives brother, sad, sad lives. On behalf of mankind we need to do better - and quite frankly do not deserve this planet. But there are a ton of good people out there - stay righteous brother and thank you for sharing - anyway totally get where you are coming from - love your attitude and thank you for helping expand my set list - stay true to yourself - deep down we all know the difference between right and wrong and stay on the good foot! I'll be rummaging through your posts for a few old chestnuts so appreciate that you didn't pull it all down. You're a good egg and what I tell people is that its simpler and easier to be a jerk and takes way more courage and character to speak your truth and walk the righteous path - plus its way more fun. Keep on keeping on - brother Paul

Instead of that ringing A in the walkdown I use a G fingered inversion at the fifth so you can hit the bass notes in standard.
Always loved to listen to The Band since going to watch them as Ronnie Hawkins backup band right before Bob Dylan stole them right at the same time he caught Ronnie Hawkins show and was so impressed right down the street from where I was going to Humber College in Toronto, 1971. True history, man.
