Shane- it occurs to me that if you had chosen to be a mathematician instead of a musician, a whole lot of us would understand differential calculus better... Great job. Thanks
I've watched multiple lessons on how to play this song. thank you Shane for finally doing it right. I now have the confidence to play this with my bandmates.
I was at a guitar jam tonight, and someone started playing this one. I thought to myself, "Shane must have a lesson on this". Sure enough, here it is. Thanks, Shane.
A good friend of mine told me, "If you can't feel the song, you'll never be able to play it." He's so right, the feeling is all the the strumming hand. Thanks for another great lesson Shane. Take care of yourself and your family and stay safe. From Charlie.
"Stage Fright" was one of the first pieces of vinyl I ever bought, was playing a Vox student prince 3/4 size guitar back then. Have always had a soft spot for Levon (RIP) and Robbie ever since. Great choice for a lesson.
Just found your website. Great! Appreciate your detailed.. logical lessons, without bogging down the time. Playing over 40 years and learning new things from you. Thanks Well done
Shane most music teachers mess up the intro in some way-either playing it incomplete or overcomplicating it. You play it bang on! Great lesson as well. Thanks for uploading! Cheers!👍👍
Your strumming pattern intro to this song is perfectly explained. Like you said, they're all easy open chords. But that pattern makes the song. Thank you.
Thank you Rocky! I completely forgot to mention you - you were the most recent person to request this one. Much appreciated and judging by what I'm seeing here people are enjoying it so far. Best to you and yours lad! Shane
Brilliant Lesson Shane every song you do you give a great simple lesson so we can all understand the best Guitar Teacher on RUclips No Doubt...regards from Ireland ☘👍🎶🎵🎵🎶🎵
Shane, you're a great teacher! Really love your lessons. So much fun. I'm really improving with my strumming techniques and I love playing through the whole song. Great practice. Cheers from a fellow Canuck!
Thanks for the very thorough and complete guitar instruction on this great classic. Finally someone who can really explain and breakdown a guitar lesson to a level that I can totally understand!! I look forward to more lessons. Awesome lesson!!
Great video. I’ve struggled with the timing on that Chorus. Thanks for the clarification. Also the strum pattern and embellishments that make it sound so much better.
Shane, you’re the best and your choice of songs, incredible! Any chance of some Neil Young? “Old Man”, “Heart of Gold”, “Hey, Hey; My, My (Out of the Blue!)” Thanks!
Thank you John - much appreciated. I am going to do 'Old Man' very soon and have already done 'Heart Of Gold' and My My Hey Hey - just look for it on my channel. Best to you and hope you're having fun with it. Cheers! Shane
Thank you RV - Such a great song. I'm using the straight ahead BeatBuddy. Not the BeatBuddy Mini. I really love it. No affiliation with the company at all - just a darn good product. Cheers, Shane
Love your lessons and especially your enthusiam. Will you be putting up which beat and tempo you use on the beatbuddy for each song as that would be INCREDIBLY useful. Thanks again from OZ
Thank you Paul - and I miss our Skype time together. Hope you are well as can be. I use Elixir HD Light. Apparently Taylor got together with Elixir to create the perfect hybrid pack specifically for the 814. I love them. Cheers! Shane
I'm seriously thinking about buying a Taylor I'm looking at the 714 CE it's very similar to the one you're playing which one are you playing and thanks for the song
Another great lesson Shane! Have you considered pinning the drum pattern and bpm at the top of each comment section for each of your lessons. I love the Beat Buddy (as per your recommendation) and it would be a great help.
Thank you Tim - much appreciated. You're hearing the guitar plugged straight into the mixer which then travels straight to the computer to record. I add a little bit of reverb and compression on mixdown and that's it. You're also hearing some bleed from my lapel microphone which captures my voice. That helps for a little warmth. Cheers, Shane
Love the channel, Shane! Not sure if this is the right place for requests but was wondering if you could do a how to play: All I Can Do Is Write About It by Lynyrd Skynyrd. There are good covers on YT but no quality tutorials. Thanks!
Hi Mark - thanks for that. I do use the opposite end of the pick - I call it the 'heel' of the pick. I don't use the pointy end. I find I can hang onto it a lot better and I get better tone. Cheers, Shane
