As you get older the philtrum distance does generally gets longer, I've noticed it in myself for sure. I don't like it a lot but it is what it is, as personally I don't do surgery/injectible stuff. But it can be noticeable, it tends to make the top lip look thinner.
I remember in junior high picture day, the school would always tell everyone “practice your smiles”. I always hated how my upper lip curled in therefore I actually learned to use different muscles and avoid using the muscles that cause my upper lip to curl. I do the lip flip, primarily because the muscle pulls unevenly on my lower lip. The only difference it makes for me is my lips are even. Get a professional's opinion before going for it, definitely isnt just a filler alternative.
The only time I’ve thought about my philtrum was when I was getting it pierced….I didn’t know people had “philtrum preferences” …I guess my preference was bedazzling mine?
Agreed! "Oh my gosh your hair follicles are showing that is unacceptable 😱" My brother in Christ, I have body hair. You'll live if you see some dots on my legs😭

No kidding 😩 from forehead filler to smile elongation to browbone shaving it’s insane how people are morphing the every single detail about their appearance
I had a disappearing top lip when I smiled as a child. Now I'm 30 and it doesn't do that anymore. Why? Bc your muscles there weaken with age, your philtrum gets longer as you age. So I wonder how this will look in 20-30 years. Y'all gonna have to get lip lifts to fix the "fix" 🙄
It’s going to be bad… yes you’re right. Yes your face thins out as you age. Gravity makes that happen. Why are these beautiful girls messing with their beautiful little faces? TikTok is the worst.
25:29 “nobody warned me of this”….. that Botox paralyzes muscles? It feels like she did absolutely no research into the procedure before getting it done, and either didn’t listen to who did the procedure or chose poorly because you are supposed to be told the side effects and risks every single time you’re injected by a medical professional
The first girl should have done a lip lift instead of a lip flip if she wanted the filtrum distance shorter, cause they actually cut a small part of tissue underneath your nose off snd basically pull the skin/lip up so you have a fuller looking upper lip and a shorter filtrum, but youll have a permanent scar underneath your nose which fades over time.
she’s definitely not a good candidate for lip lift surgery due to her age and the skin laxity of that area, a filler lip lift would be better (temporary fix) where you inject filler around the cupids bow and a bit of botox to the outer lip. also, doing a non surgical lip flip is a good way to find out if you want you lips to appear fuller (lip filler/lip flip) or a shorter philtrum (lip lift/cupid filler). but honestly, for a shorter philtrum just do some lip contouring and leave cosmetic procedures to when you’re 50+
It can take around 2-4 weeks for the effects of a lip flip to really show. I’ve gone to 3 different doctors for filler treatments and they all discourage the lip flip because of how unpredictable the results are and how it doesn’t last long. The other factor is how it makes the lips feel strange and not many people like that. I personally chose to listen to my doctors advice and never got a lip flip done and just stuck to a bit of filler. It’s been over a year since I have my lip fillers and I’m still happy with the results.
I've gotten both a lip flip and fillers recently. Results are great and I can speak and do everything the same! I think most people don't need them and get them done
I want your lips!! They gorgeous! Sadly no amount of surgery will achieve that for me 😢 and I’m 47 and the only person will see it is my family, my Dr, my local Pharmacy staff and the local grocery store. I need to get out more! Lol
Look up long term effects of Botox. They are going to have some weird face changes when they get older. They’re all beautiful too, they have no idea what they have.
this one i’ve had done! everyone is right, it did nothing special for me at all and the pain was very bad!! it doesn’t feel right to look different, i don’t know how many mls i got but it was enough to make it harder and heavier to talk for months on. it felt like something was wrong with me, waste of 70$
Ok I don't really know anything about lip flips, but as a person who had a tendency to curl my upper lip when I smiled I think you can train yourself out of it tbh. I used to not be able to smile without "doing the weird lip thing" as my mom called it😂 but after years of consciously relaxing and uncurling my lip I now smile with my whole upper lip visible. It just took some focus and practice. It might be worth a try before turning to cosmetic injections. You can retrain your muscles.

My lip flip was great and I didnt have issues with a straw or words...I think maybe some of the people may be exaggerating. But idk, I can only speak on my experience.
*17:10** She is INCORRECT!! The dose of Botox is assessed by the strength of the muscles needing control over, hence the reason you see plastic, dead looking faces on 40-year-old women who’ve overdone it on Botox. Some people have stronger muscles which require more units while others obviously require less.* HOW WOULD MORE UNITS LAST LONGER? It doesn’t make any sense scientifically. Botox lasts a specific duration, regardless of how many units , but the duration varies from person to person
I've lived with a gummy smile for 58, nearly 59 years. I'm not going to change it now. I mean, the results look really nice on some people, but I'm so used to how I look when I smile now, that changing it would be weird.
I got my wisdom teeth out in May, all four at once. I look like a chipmunk for WEEKS! My lower left side was still swollen after a couple of weeks and it hurt when I chewed, so I went back to the surgeon and they pulled out a PIECE OF MY JAW BONE that came loose after my surgery! The relief was instantaneous, tho. The liquid and soft food diet was rough as a chip enjoyer, and cinnamon applesauce became my main food for a while 😭 Also, did you get that prescription mouthwash to irrigate the sockets with those weird curved syringes? That stuff tasted nasty lol
It’s sad to see people getting all of these procedures done, but then you go online and you’re either getting made fun of for your looks or asked why you can’t/don’t look like certain celebrities or social media influencers. I had a guy stare blankly at my face and said I’d look better with makeup. When women wear makeup, they get called fake and told natural is best. Damned if you do, damned if you don’t. Social media and other content has fucked up people’s perception of beauty so much and what regular people actually look like. Normal people get dragged for looking ugly so now everyone runs to get work done and look the same
I have a gummy smile due to my open skeletal bite that requires jaw surgery to fix. It affects my chewing, sleep, breathing etc...but braces helps a lott. I'm on my 2nd braces round and the Dentists all tell me that it's a temporary fix because the Jaw deformity will keep making my teeth shift even with retainers. That I'll just keep get braces forever because my damn jaw needs to be fixed for it to _actually_ be solved. But I'm so scared of procedures, I can't understand these girls who go with it like it's second nature to them even when they don't actually need it at all!
You really have to focus on someone’s lips to actually see any difference. I get it, Some people do it for themselves but if I was to look at them without really focusing on the lips I wouldn’t see any change! Which makes me feel a bit better about my own insecurities, because I’ve realized most of them are so small no one but me really notices them.
Y'all with these cosmetic procedures and trying to stay on trend, none of ya knew about a "lip flip" last year and Y'all survived 😂😂 I'm 56 and NEVER EVER have I had a procedure nor would I, I love myself UNCONDITIONALLY...no conditions, every wrinkle, Grey hair, crinkle, God made me and he doesn't make mistakes.. I use soap and water, lotion and treat my face properly....this is sad and pathetic but Y'all making those cosmetic surgeons pockets bigger...💰💰💰😂😂😂
1:30 OMG I ALWAYS USE MY MIDDLE FINGERS TO TOUCH MY FACE AND RUB MY EYES IDK WHY I JUST DO? But I was doing it and looking at this girl, and she thought I was like trying to secretly flip her off 😭😭😭 I REALLY WASN'T. I honeslty felt so bad. And now, whenever I see her, she always gives me a dirty look 💀💀💀
It’s common sense a lip flip would be for specific people lmao wth . So no. Not everyone is a good candidate. Experts literally said that in this video lmao
It’s amazing how many people you have shown on your channel who do zero research of any kind… then have issues with their results and go on TikTok to complain about it 😂 is being an adult no longer a thing? Just wondering
3:00 i think it's ridiculous that there are people worrying about how their upper lip looks when they smile...like? Are we crazy enough? Those kind of micro details and obsessing over your appearance to that level obviously is not healthy or normal. No one is thinking about how your lips look, not when you smile and not when you arent smiling. The only people caring about those details are yourself because you are so self focused and the injector that wants to take money from you. No one in the history of the universe has ever cared about how their lips or anyone's lips looked when they smile. I could understand being concious about your teeth if they are in horrible shape or you lack teeth, but girl, the lip shape...
That first girl, the Asian one, I don't know if she had prior work done but she was already so beautiful and had such full lips already, especially her upper lip. It was very full compared to most lighter skin women, and even a lot of darker skin women too. So unnecessary.
@0:47 Iol u n I both checked the distance between the nose n lip because who even thinks about that😂😂 some of these insecurities r absurd… like how bored do u have to be to criticize every little part of yourself
I honestly wou,d get a lip flip I have a gummy smile but not only that one side of my smile lifts wayyyyy more than the other one specially when I talk so I would hope this would kinda fix it but I’m also terrified of it failing and ending up with botched lips so I’ll ust talk to my dentists cause she’s mentioned other ways to fix it
This is so funny to me. I have moderately sized lips (my lips are actually the same size as busiswa but I'm in denial, lmao), both are the same size. I've always wanted a thinner upper lip, and 90% of my top lip definitely disappears when I smile. I love it, but I can also smile in a way where my lip doesn't disappear. Why would you pay money for this? Why would you purposely weaken your facial muscles, you can't get that back
I don't think they are legally allowed to do more than 4 units at a time. I could be wrong, but the place I go to will not go above 4 units. Anything higher will give you that stroke, half paralyzed look and you'll be drooling. 😂 Please don't let your final source be tik tok. Actually do research
What is this..... Most cosmetic surgery is unnecessary. And these changes in the video I would not have even noticed if I was faced with the person. But I'm also a person who wouldn't care about something so insignificant in someone's face . ((Perhaps people need to stop nit-picking themselves in the mirror for so long that they FIND things to be wrong. ))
I know you're Christian but what denomination? I'm assuming catholic but I was just curious (I'm LDS, BTW. And yes, we are Christian. We still believe in the Bible as well as in Jesus Christ, God the Father, and the Holy Ghost. The only difference is that we believe they're separate beings. I'm not trying to push my religion on anyone but if you have any questions on my religion lmk and I can try to answer as well as direct you to better sources.) Sorry that this was long and have a great day if you're reading this! ❤️
I'm sorry since when are adults being judged from drinking on the side T_T like people out hear really thinking they gonna be judged for breathing wrong.
I have my smokers lines botoxed….sounds about the same. I notice it but I don’t think someone else would. My point was to get rid of wrinkles. I couldn’t give a shit about bigger lips. Don’t know how my face would look with bigger lips. But I’ve done Botox all over my face pretty much but believe it or not…it’s the Botox no Botox look. I waited till I was 44 to do it so lines still linger and it’s one of those things (cause people are so plastic surgery dumb still) that when you know…you know. Drinking out a straw is the sacrifice you make. But I like that girls side straw lolol! Btw I’m really skinny and have a very expressive face. I had to do it. I dunno if some know it when you’re skinny…you’re more wrinkled. Fine and dandy when young but when you get in your 40s …it gets to ya. My main insecurity was my 11 lines. And I’ve been doing it for six months now…three times. And I don’t have any complaints

Never heard of a lip flip before
The first girl should have done a lip lift instead of a lip flip if she wanted the filtrum distance shorter, cause they actually cut a small part of tissue underneath your nose off snd basically pull the skin/lip up so you have a fuller looking upper lip and a shorter filtrum, but youll have a permanent scar underneath your nose which fades over time.

My top lip used to disappear when I smiled,I just practiced my smile in front of the mirror 🤷🏻♀️
I really don’t care what they do anymore, the narcissism and stupidity is off the chart, let them get on with it.
People are getting way too ridiculous. The vanity is off the charts.
@@AA-ed6ek that’s right, just sit back and observe.
@@crochet8172 Yep.
I do along the philintrum that, and under the nose only, i cant with the whole lip
And 19:54…what more can she do to her face? Lol it’s pretty much perfect. Wtf?
How is it ever this serious?
Ugh, I've wanted a lip flip for a while now
Don’t say the Kylie lip challenge was “back in the day”, it makes me feel old 😂❤
🤭
0:45 LOL I too touched my top lip when she said that.
Love that I have a natural lip flip 😅
Can you make a video about chin Botox too and gummy smile please ❤
The thumbnail is a lil scary 😅😅
Omg I didn’t know “my life as Eva” was still doing things lol I miss her
Y'all with these cosmetic procedures and trying to stay on trend, none of ya knew about a "lip flip" last year and Y'all survived 😂😂 I'm 56 and NEVER EVER have I had a procedure nor would I, I love myself UNCONDITIONALLY...no conditions, every wrinkle, Grey hair, crinkle, God made me and he doesn't make mistakes.. I use soap and water, lotion and treat my face properly....this is sad and pathetic but Y'all making those cosmetic surgeons pockets bigger...💰💰💰😂😂😂
The first girl was so beautiful
15:53 Am i tripping or is that a mint vibrator? 😭
I was looking for this comment!😭 thought it was just me bc it totally is😂
1:30 OMG I ALWAYS USE MY MIDDLE FINGERS TO TOUCH MY FACE AND RUB MY EYES IDK WHY I JUST DO? But I was doing it and looking at this girl, and she thought I was like trying to secretly flip her off 😭😭😭 I REALLY WASN'T. I honeslty felt so bad. And now, whenever I see her, she always gives me a dirty look 💀💀💀
It’s common sense a lip flip would be for specific people lmao wth . So no. Not everyone is a good candidate. Experts literally said that in this video lmao
Yet they’ll still want to get their lips flipped
It’s amazing how many people you have shown on your channel who do zero research of any kind… then have issues with their results and go on TikTok to complain about it 😂 is being an adult no longer a thing? Just wondering
No forreal, it’s sad when I do more research than them.
Eva Gutowski is talking about lip filler now? I miss when she was telling us how to diy their school supplies😂
I have a gummy smile and I’ve always been very insecure about it. So wt this I’m wanting to try it.
Why would you purposely weaken your facial muscles, you can't get that back
Not you feeling to see how far you’re nose was from ur lips 😂😂😅
I don't think they are legally allowed to do more than 4 units at a time. I could be wrong, but the place I go to will not go above 4 units. Anything higher will give you that stroke, half paralyzed look and you'll be drooling. 😂 Please don't let your final source be tik tok. Actually do research
What is this..... Most cosmetic surgery is unnecessary. And these changes in the video I would not have even noticed if I was faced with the person. But I'm also a person who wouldn't care about something so insignificant in someone's face . ((Perhaps people need to stop nit-picking themselves in the mirror for so long that they FIND things to be wrong. ))
Love watching these kind of videos, but I sometimes have a little bit of body dysmorphia afterwards for like a day or so.
I’ve never even heard of a lip flip until now! I’m 54! Do I live under a rock? 🪨 I’m happy right here 🤣🤣
No literally never heard of this and I’m 20😂
I know you're Christian but what denomination? I'm assuming catholic but I was just curious (I'm LDS, BTW. And yes, we are Christian. We still believe in the Bible as well as in Jesus Christ, God the Father, and the Holy Ghost. The only difference is that we believe they're separate beings. I'm not trying to push my religion on anyone but if you have any questions on my religion lmk and I can try to answer as well as direct you to better sources.) Sorry that this was long and have a great day if you're reading this! ❤️
I’m non-denominational. Denominations come with a bunch of confusion.
I'm sorry since when are adults being judged from drinking on the side T_T like people out hear really thinking they gonna be judged for breathing wrong.
Hiiiii
Hi
@ hellow
Shut up stop commenting for attention and u do this to all her videos shut UP
I have my smokers lines botoxed….sounds about the same. And I don’t have any complaints
what on earth is a mature lip
