HRT (hormone replacement therapy) has changed my life. I’m 51 years old now, but I can look back into my mid 40s and see the signs of my hormones changing. If I could go back in time, I would start HRT earlier. It started for me with anxiety and sleepless nights. To say I was a horrible sleeper is an understatement. I was in a job that I actually thought I had PTSD, but looking back with hindsight, it was more than likely hormone related. Several years later, the plantar fasciitis started, the aches and pains in my joints, weight gain, foggy brain and eventually the mechanics of intimacy started to go awry. All this to say is check those hormones girl! 44 is still young, but like I said with all the experience I have now with the relief I get from HRT, I wish I would’ve started it sooner! Creatine is also a game changer!
How did you go about checking your hormones? Was it a blood test? My doctor won’t put me on hrt until after I go through menopause but I’ve been dealing with anxiety & insomnia & brain fog for the last 10 years
I’ve seen my mother be in an unhappy marriage (with my father) and stay because she thought it was the best for her children, It was not. After their separation, she also glowed and I felt so proud of her. As moms, we tend to look out for everyone else but ourselves. It’s completely valid to be selfish sometimes and look out for our happiness.
Your makeup changes that you have acquired due to natural aging changes (crows feet), are exactly what I've had to change as well. Really appreciate you normalizing and educating on this! :) you say it so nonchalant that it makes it feel like no big deal- LOVED that! Thank you :)
Ended a 7 year relationship in august that was also amicable. While we're best friends now, we kept running into the same initial problems romantically and while they weren't enough to break us over the 7 years it became a question of if there could be someone out there just that bit more compatible. It was also necessary for both of us as we had gotten very comfortable and now we're both extremely motivated to make our lives better independently. Its exciting when you open yourself up to more opportunities and I commend you for making that decision with so much invested. Weighing those options can be so difficult.

As a woman who got my finalized divorced papers at 40, I can honestly say this…nothing is more empowering than a woman who is emotionally in tune with herself. Prioritize your health in all aspects and your children will notice the happier you. Your children want you to be happy, and love you no matter what.

I remarried my 1st husband( high school sweetheart) and father to my only child after 32 yrs. We had NO INTIMACY BEFORE MARRIAGE BOTH TIMES) and I was 56 when we remarried. We had not been married but for a short time and I started having horrible anxiety the day before he would come home for 2 weeks ( he worked off 2 weeks). I dreaded going to bed with him, and just dreaded everything. He would stand over my shoulder when doing anything, even loading the dishwasher. I was becoming a nervous wreck. Like my daughter told me, “ she thought I remarried him thinking I was giving her her parents back and she was mostly right. Anyhoo, I understand how when we are so unhappy and dread being around our spouse, it can cause us so much stress. I finally divorced him after only being married almost 2 yrs. He was sooo angry, stalked me out a tracker on my car etc. it’s been 6 yrs and I have not had any interest in dating and or talking to anyone. Like you, I could finally breathe and knowing he wasn’t coming “home” was such a peace of mind. Your much younger so, get out there and be YOU! And embrace the Newness of being Single again. After being married for 15 yrs, you will discover so many new things in life that you now Love as a single/ divorced mom, business woman, lady. Thank you for sharing.
Also went through the whole divorce thing and even though it was my decision and it absolutely had to happen, I was distressed and very upset. I look back and wish I had allowed myself to feel the peace and relief you do, because I guess on some level, I felt I couldn't have that in front of the kids. Still haven't gone into the dating scene and it's been 5 years. I think Ive needed this time on my own to adjust and learn to do things on my own... which led me to realizing I am actually capable of doing DIY 😂

I haven’t been single in 21 years, and honestly, I don’t feel like I’m the same person I was back then. I can’t help but feel a bit envious of your new freedom. I got into breakup 2 weeks ago from a selfish abusive relationship, the process is tough after nearly 6 years together. Still angry but its part of the moving on process, gets better. My 13 year old dog passed 6 months ago, if that got better then anything would.

One of the worst things in my childhood was seeing my parents' marriage falling completely apart and getting to that point where my brother and I were just relieved when they finally decided to get a divorce instead of making everyone miserable, Trust me, you made the right choice.

I was in the same place as you a year ago. Best decision I made for myself and my daughter as I am a better mum now. Sometimes loneliness kicks in for some reason. The desire to be loved again by another sets in. Will this pass too? Will have to wait and see…..
My parents divorce when I was 16 and while the transition was hard, it was soooo much better after. Everyone was happier, less tension in the house. They ended up being great friends eventually which was really nice.

And that with the exs parents I heard either they take it fine or they are like another stress in your life where they now suddenly talk bad about you and hold a grudge.

I haven’t been single in 21 years, and honestly, I don’t feel like I’m the same person I was back then. I can’t help but feel a bit envious of your new freedom. I got into breakup 2 weeks ago from a selfish abusive relationship, the process is tough after nearly 6 years together. Still angry but its part of the moving on process, gets better. My 13 year old dog passed 6 months ago, if that got better then anything would.

One of the worst things in my childhood was seeing my parents' marriage falling completely apart and getting to that point where my brother and I were just relieved when they finally decided to get a divorce instead of making everyone miserable, Trust me, you made the right choice.
Lucky. My parents still sticks to their toxic marriage and turning themselves and those around them toxic too 😂.
So thankful to see women outside of medicine living their best lives inspiring every single doctor and nurse out there who are feeling a bit tricked about their profession...So thankful every one else can see your messaging. I love when good women feel better on the outside so they can feel better on the inside.

I was in the same place as you a year ago. Best decision I made for myself and my daughter as I am a better mum now. Sometimes loneliness kicks in for some reason. The desire to be loved again by another sets in. Will this pass too? Will have to wait and see…..

My parents divorce when I was 16 and while the transition was hard, it was soooo much better after. Everyone was happier, less tension in the house. They ended up being great friends eventually which was really nice.

I feel like sometimes even though you no longer want to be with them, when they date I’ve heard my friends say it feels awkward. And that it’s hard not to judge the other persons girlfriends looks and characteristics harder then you would normally . And that with the exs parents I heard either they take it fine or they are like another stress in your life where they now suddenly talk bad about you and hold a grudge.
I can’t speak for his parents but I would be happy for him to date someone. As long as that person is good your kids!
