I do this video often. I have lower body issues involving sciatica and IT band pain stemming from severe osteoarthritis of my L4-5 area. Without your videos I would be in constant pain and limited mobility. Today I had the typical “yikes” reaction crossing my left leg over and pulling my left hip back as you instruct. I literally suck in my breath. But very suddenly, every muscle in both legs relaxed in almost a domino effect. I assume this is the overall goal? Man, did it feel good!
I've watched oodles of yoga videos on RUclips, I've never come across a better instructor than Jen Hilman! I am so grateful to be able to access such great content in the comfort of my home. Her videos targeting sciatica and lower back pain have changed my quality of life dramatically.
You are the one that really got me into yoga. Your way of teaching is byond any other. I love how you mention to not to rush..so true...my flexibility has been much better because how you are so deliberate and slow and patient with us and the body! Thank you!

Wow amazing kind of got me emotional the way I needed that my first time doing yoga this was so soothing n relaxing I recently got cut out of a car about 6 months ago still recovering yoga will do wonders for me and you are a great teacher and by the way I was looking for someone on RUclips that covered their body smh thanks alot

I felt such panic as I was going through the poses but breathing really did help and I realized that not only can I heal my body with this, but my mind and heart as well. I kept thinking, "What is my relationship with pain?" But as I calmed down I could really feel the muscle release! WOW. Then at the end I felt such tingley goodness I was astounded. THANK YOU. You are really good at this.
At first I did not like the exercise because it was too slow and I did not like holding the poses for long periods-but I did the exercise 3x and I have found great results. Keep up the good work. 👍🏽
I love this exercise even though my legs did not come all the way up , it still hurt in a good way , I hope I'll progress so my legs become more flexible and hopefully go all the way up straight .

This video is super helpful, however when im stretching, i notice my knee always want to lock in the stretch (as in lock straight if that makes sense) ..should i be doing this to keep the leg straight? or is it supposed to be unlocked with a slight bend in the knee?
