It looks like the relay switch out that I did only works on the 4th generation outback. 2009 is a third Gen outback. I can't find much for the 3rd gens, but this forum post might be helpful. There is mention of cutting a wire or removing the pin in a harness, so I'd say use caution and try these at your own risk www.subaruoutback.org/threads/2005-2009-drl-deactivation-simple.53206/
So I have a 13 legacy 3.6r and I’m doing all my light replacement hi/lo and fog light to a 3000k led . Have you rewired your fog lights to be drl yet ?
Thanks for the tip! I work on a military base and need to go through the gate and lights should be off….this will help me a lot. Thanks again.
Worked perfectly on 2014 Forester 2.5 Premium. Thanks!
Thanks for the easy fix. Passing for info that I found on the fog light wiring in the comments on the fog light video.
Thanks that really helps me out 😊
09 legacy and put hid kit in. Boxes are similar and that spot says drl rear and is empty???
I replaced 5 prong relay with the relay above but did not work. My Outback is 2009, any ideas?

So rather than wire them in to turn on/off automatically, I have mine on their own circuit and keep them on all the time.
@@rustcountrygarageok cool I might have to try something soon those legs are definitely making some ppl mad lol
