    If you have issues with the hinge pieces traveling at the speed of klang when grinding you could shut off tool shake in settings. I've had more pieces make it to space because of grinders than thrusters 😂...

I'm really tempted to see if I can take the HEMMT design and transpose it onto a large grid. I don't think we have large-grid modular cargo blocks, but I'm fairly certain putting large grid 3x3 cargo blocks together wouldn't be that bad of a compromise.

    when attaching a set of hinges or rotors to the same grid.Like in your explosion scene..you need one of those to have its values zeroed..all of them..and no lock..your explosion was most probable con the 2 rotors wanted to control the grid and one of the head was disloaged enough for the detach option to go off

    52:32 Apparently pistons are not perfectly straight either when extended, so I wouldn't put it past that Keen has messed up hinges too. Afterall, everything related to subgrids is an afterthought and the game was not built from ground up to handle such things.
    Although, I'm not sure if the new square pistons are wonky too as I've seen the proof only for the originals and I'm too lazy to test myself. And the problem with pistons is so small that this particular problem of yours is not caused by them. The culprit must be the hinges.

    @Engineered Coffee--I'm not sure if you still read through these comments so late after the video's gone live, but I think I might have made a prototype improvement to your design for the welding arms. It doesn't have any of the automated functionality that yours does have, but it adds in a (in my opinion) fancy hatch door that can open/close and conceal welding arms that fold up and down in order to weld blueprints. If this interests you at all, I could send a steam composition for you to look at and receive some inspiration from and add it into your design.

    56:00
    (On why the one hinge welder looks a little bit off from the other one, even though they have the same angles)
    On one welding arm, you put spacers between the hinges. On the other one, you did not. You can see it is clearly at marker 56:00. That's why one angle seemed to be off even though they had the same numbers. They're set at a different height. 🧐🤔😳😅

    • @shadenphoenix
      @shadenphoenix 2 месяца назад +1

    ALSO also, I do believe that's a new Mars Record for the Block Toss Event.

      @@EngineeredCoffee Commenting as I watch - the trash chute grinders might work better if you drop them down one block, so the blades are level with the bottom of the corner block lower edge.
      That way you're less likely to have the hinge parts hit the grinder block base itself rather than the blades area?
      Might also reduce the bounce effect too, since the parts will be in the grinder area longer before physics kicks in, and given they're small grid blocks they'll grind way faster.
