Yesh! I am so glad that this Tribute was made, and I have to admit I am very, very impressed by the mixture of both the music and the pictures (like always) and I'm very, very pleased that the majority of the pictures I gave in were added (especially the last picture ;) ... Never liked Eldars anyways). Well, once again, I believe this deserves a 5/5, and Makkovar, you have done yet another masterpiece. Thank you very much for doing this tribute, I really appreciate it :D.
That's the idea. A chaos space marine looks up and thinks "oh shit an assassin". A regular marine says "wow an assassin, I wish I could kill that hard". A sister of battle looks up at 1:08 and thinks "wow an assassin, I wish I had an ass that fine".
Just read the comments below and feel a bit sad about them. This is not the way it should be. Im a warhammer freak with own built army of crimson fists and played most of the games as well. If i hear the ominous "in the grim darkness of the far future" I start to shiver and sweat becasue it is the way i like and love, but it don't have to mean that i condemn the ones who like Starcraft. This is their way. I think if anyone really like or love something it should focus on it, and really childish how each side blame and curse each other. Live and let live, "There is only one emperror, He is our shield and protector"
@Bhikshu2 yes but and i quote "the baleful circuitry of the etherium allows the Culexus to step out of phase with the physical world, becoming little more than a ghost, until he chooses to strike" and remember that they are blanks so they can not be targeted by psykers of any sort. and the Vindicares can shoot down an attack craft
@caos1925 It's the name of their "temple", which is basically their training academy, yes. Each "temple" has a specific type of assassin. Vindicare are long ranged snipers.
Dziwne, że nie miałem tego w subskrypcjach... W każdym razie - Makkovar, przeszedłeś samego siebie z tym Trybutem! Timing absolutnie idealny, dobra muzyka i PRZEŚWIETNE artworki. Good work!
@Makkovar from 100 or so miles away in a camouflaged position with a silenced (don't ask me how it still has the range, it just does...) rifle that can penetrate solid adamantium plate and a suit that blends in completely with the environment around him.
@DGneoseeker1 Correction: Three types we never get to use. 1. Venenum (Poison assassin) 2. Vanus. (Uses information to kill the target, for example by making them look like a traitor to their own allies.) 3. Tech priest assassin. (Has rather awesome weapons such as bullets that warp through void shields. One of these showed up in one of the Horus Heresy books)
@eyeaboveall Exactly what I was wondering, especially since the original Assassin did NOT have a specific temple. It was just a super soldier, with unbelievably, ridiculously high stats. The original assassin would make a Primach piss himself on sight. They had a 4+ dodge save from literally anything (maybe not Vortex grenades), and could have ANY WARGEAR THEY WANTED (From the Imperial Agents wargear list). This would include needlers.
@Makkovar Also, at the vindicare thingymagig, that's what they do and how they do the job. Since they suck at virtually anything else due to training take up most of lifespan, hit-and-run tactics do good work on commanding officers. ._.
@bigdude90 A big ass sci-fi toybox. Pretty much everything in it is ripped from somewhere else (Starship Troopers franchise, Paradise Lost, etc...,) but it's still pretty fricken cool.
@irfriske Assassin are, statwise, just as strong and tough as space marines. They only lack the armour, but most have armour ignoring or will get to shoot many times before the space marines reach them, or hide in the space marines squad and pop out killing a couple of them.
@Azirtiro :\ I thought you would know.Talos is a Night Lord and M'Shen is the assassin that killed Konrad Curze. Talos hunted her down for that.He took of her hand, melted her eyes(by spitting in them), made her go deaf, toyed with her a bit then killed her and cut her body up into a mound of meat. And if you say that "Well he's a chaos marine they have mutations" the Night Lords for the most part dont worship chaos and only fight for themselves and their sadistic needs. So, no mutaionns for them.
@TheHeartlessLust That really depends on what we are talking about for instance I'd like to see an assassin try to take down a daemon prince compared to a grey knight. Or see him take on a tyranid carnifex compared to a dreadknought.
[An imperial agent is standing over the body of a dead politician] [A host of guards barge in] "Assassin? What Assassin? There's no Assassin Here, Nope, None at all." [And with that, the assassin backflips out the window]
@GeneralSturnn Can i fix three things? - Baneblade makes siege tanks look like puny toy cars. - When Zerg even thinks of Tyranids, they'll just die for fear. -Protoss are jealous and ashamed 'cause the Eldar are FAR more ancient than those newcomers and the Eldar have a big lot of better technology and knowledge. Made my day, your comment did :D
@DGneoseeker1 Another correction. I hadn't noticed the Vindicare had so much armour plating in some of the images. How strange... you'd think that would mess up their speed and dodging abilities.
@Bhikshu2 What's scarier, a Minotaur Battlecruiser or an Emperor Class Battleship, 6 kilometers in length and equipped with weapons that can annihilate all life on a world and take incredible punishment? Godlike warrior clad in armor worthy of a Goliath, immune to most psychic powers and equipped with .75 automatic rocket launchers. Warhammer is such an overpowered setting it's hard to find something bigger and scarier than the Imperium of Man.
@TheTheKingOfTheSword odd. I've just noticed that now that you speak of it. Hmmm maybe a vindicare got accidently sent back in time and had his personality altered. XD
@Bhikshu2 Ok I'll admit, I lost the Culexus argument :D. However, how will ghosts even detect Callidus assassins? Polymorphine makes them an exact copy of whoever them want to impersonate. Voice, shape, fingerprints whatsoever. Eversors will kill everyone so quickly and move on that no one will know where exactly he is. Vindicares have stealth suits as well. They can see through walls and shoot right through walls. Not to mention that their Exitus rifles have godlike range.
@Bhikshu2 Snipers? Heard of Vindicares? I hear your invisible gunship and raise you ten thousand visible ones. And those flashlights? They hit about as hard as a .50 cal. As for underfed and untrained... The Guard goes all the way from Whiteshields and Penal Legions to Mordians, Elysians and Cadians. When you've got trillions of men, you've literally got "all sorts". On a related note, how would them Terrans deal with a TItan?
Makes me wonder what is behind the culexus assassins masks, I heard that they are mutants because they have a gene that makes them soulless, but beside are they like mutants with inhuman features? It seems some of them have claws of some sort or very sharp nails.
@templar1243 that is just a rumour. no official record has been found. Conceptwise, both share tropes which can be traced by to Starship Troopers ( the novel ). @Bhikshu2 Yeah, I know a lot of people have already responded to your comment, but I can't help it haha. So anyways, any Imperial assassin will easily take your your Terran ghosts. Vindicares will be stalking you for weeks waiting for the right opportunity. Callidus assassins will simply impersonate someone on your side. Eversors will be pumped so full of drugs that you won't even be able to track his movements. And well, your psychic energy bolsters the weapons used by Culexus assassins lol.
@Incineration69 From a scientific standpoint they are fruit because they have seeds but in cooking they are treated as vegetables. I admit that since i was using a culinary example I probably should have used something like a apple.
@BaldurandVali To some extent, but space marines are 1 out of a 1000 from the toughest planets at their chapters disposal. The assassins are far beyond that but from time to time yes, a space marine would have the upper hand and kill the assassin but in most fights, close or ranged, the assassin would win and therefore the assassin will win the "1 space marine vs. 1 assassin" because they win most of the time (when they aren't the antagonist in a epic novel) Is this M'shen an imperial assassin?
@Azirtiro In theory. But also it depends on the individual. Some assassins are less skilled than or more skilled than others, regardless of experiance. Same goes for Astartes. Talos used his abilities to the fullest as did M'Shen, but Talos came out on top.
@DGneoseeker1 I asked the guy at gamesworkshop and the guy told me and my dad that they had switched to resin and not the easily breakable kind, the reason was "the price of tin went up". that annoyed me because the metal models were perfect for Line of Sight arguements when playing with non weighted models, (IE a groove in the scuplted terrain) so dad came with this neat idea, for every plastic model go out to lowe's buy a shitload of metal washer-rings and epoxy them to the undersides. Works!
Some may be able to avoid the judiciaries of the Adeptus Arbites, fewer may be able to face off against the Imperial Guard and the Adeptus Astartes, but let it be known that none can stand against the Officio Assassinorum.
@epicdude61388 not unless your on TableTop hehe, then you miss loads of times(my Assassin keeps missing when I order him to hit Commander's like Captains, but always hits Guardsmen for some reason...)

@LordSia13 Gonna have to argue a few points. The Guard may be superior to the Terrans in some ways, but when it comes to some of the other points of warfare, they fall flat. For instance: What's scarier: A guy with a sniper rifle, or an invisible psychic guy with a sniper rifle? What's scarier, a gunship or an invisible gunship? What's scarier: Underfed, under-trained grunts with flashlights, or guys hopped up on stimulants in power armor with rapid-fire railguns? ...It's not so one-sided.
nice vid wish DOW 1 had kill counts on the units cause i always kept my assassin busy. Had ppl rush me when i played guard just so i wouldn't get my assassin out.
@PropaLp I completely agree dude i love starcraft and warhammer. Starcraft gives me that great competitive online while warhammer gives me an epic and in depth story line.
@Musikkingofthecookie Oh okay. All of my knowledge of the Assassin Clades is based on Nemesis, so either they never mentioned it, or I couldn't remember. It's strange though, for some reason I picture Koyne in Nemesis as more of a masculine figure.
dumb question...but which army codices use assassins? It's been awhile(15 years?)...i remember guard used to use em, but some of these look way different than impguard style...
@Trollingwithmyhomies The picture at 1:15 was drawn by me. If you dont trust me, got to deviantArt and surch for my username. Then you'll see by yourself. I'll add something in the description for you.
@BaldurandVali So you got that from one of the novels? Talos wouldn't by any chance by the protagonist? My comment is based on the tabletop game, where an assassin is more then a hundred points worth and the SM is about 16pts. All the different assassins could kill him without trouble... SM are awesome, just not THAT awesome
@faylon1 And it is the Assassins that brings the Wrath of the God-Emperor to those that turn their backs to him. They will deliver his divine fury wherever they may be.
@eyeaboveall Its true. Blizzard was going to make a game for Games Workshop but Blizzard wanted to make changes to the game promote their other games Games Workshop said no and Blizzard went off to create Starcraft using material from the Warhammer 40k universe and the game.
@eyeaboveall No more of ANY metal models? Seriously? That's suprising. I've got some old metal assault marines and the original necron model that came free with White Dwarf magazine. (Back before the Gauss Flayers looked fat and shite. Mine is EVIL LOOKING and spiky).
WRRRRYYYYYYYYYYYYY!!!!
-Eversor operative entering battle.
It's not Eversor Operative, it's Eversor Destroyer! Operatives belong to the Vanus Temple!
Truly a work of art. Brilliant arrangement of pictures, and appreciable musical accompaniment. As always, you have made a fantastic video.
Yesh! I am so glad that this Tribute was made, and I have to admit I am very, very impressed by the mixture of both the music and the pictures (like always) and I'm very, very pleased that the majority of the pictures I gave in were added (especially the last picture ;) ... Well, once again, I believe this deserves a 5/5, and Makkovar, you have done yet another masterpiece. Thank you very much for doing this tribute, I really appreciate it :D.
Some of these guys look fucking creepier than any xenos in the Warhammer 40k lore.
That's the idea. A chaos space marine looks up and thinks "oh shit an assassin". A regular marine says "wow an assassin, I wish I could kill that hard". A sister of battle looks up at 1:08 and thinks "wow an assassin, I wish I had an ass that fine".
Alex Notmyname LOL
+Alex Notmyname i laughed :D
The Venenum Assassins!
Never thought I would see them again.
Excellent tribute!!!
The only one for Imperial Assasins. It's about time.Well done Makkovar.
Just read the comments below and feel a bit sad about them. This is not the way it should be. Im a warhammer freak with own built army of crimson fists and played most of the games as well. Dude this video rocks I always wondered why nobody created a tribute to the Offico Assassinorum but now I am happy :).
1:25
Guess who's back? ^^
Turkisshh2 not that Eldar Human part
awsome :D you used oneof mypictures ^^ thank you very much. it's an honor :)
1:58 and 2:15 are pure awesome ! Amazing work man!
You're probably the guy who read Nemesis 5 times. My 2nd time is now going =D good book!
Neat work. The assassins sure are bad assess.

Keep up the good work Makkovar!

glad im a loyal imperial citizen, i wouldnt want any of those guys comin after me. well done :)
@OscarCraft I'm very glad to hear this. ^^ Thank you.
A moment of doubt spawns a lifetime of heresy!
@DGneoseeker1 Correction: Three types we never get to use.

@GeneralSturnn Many of the team that worked on the original 40k races, also worked on starcraft.
The mask/helmet in 3:24 is what you get when you fuck so much shit up, that they assume would probably make the Emporer himself go "oh shit"......
@Makkovar Also, at the vindicare thingymagig, that's what they do and how they do the job. Since they suck at virtually anything else due to training take up most of lifespan, hit-and-run tactics do good work on commanding officers. ._.
hell that was awesome !!!!! :D
@bigdude90 A big ass sci-fi toybox. Pretty much everything in it is ripped from somewhere else (Starship Troopers franchise, Paradise Lost, etc...,) but it's still pretty fricken cool.
Eversors!!! Has there ever been a good story with an Eversor in it yet? I remember just one short story, but damn there needs to be more!!!
@irfriske Assassin are, statwise, just as strong and tough as space marines. They only lack the armour, but most have armour ignoring or will get to shoot many times before the space marines reach them, or hide in the space marines squad and pop out killing a couple of them.

@DGneoseeker1 Another correction. I hadn't noticed the Vindicare had so much armour plating in some of the images. How strange... you'd think that would mess up their speed and dodging abilities.
Great, my favourite WH video!
(Despite the inconsistencies with lore ; )
@talamo7 Curze supposedly allowed the assassin to kill him. Her name was M'shen or something like that, one of the Callidus assassins.
@Bhikshu2 What's scarier, a Minotaur Battlecruiser or an Emperor Class Battleship, 6 kilometers in length and equipped with weapons that can annihilate all life on a world and take incredible punishment? @Bhikshu2 Ok I'll admit, I lost the Culexus argument :D. However, how will ghosts even detect Callidus assassins? Polymorphine makes them an exact copy of whoever them want to impersonate. Voice, shape, fingerprints whatsoever. Eversors will kill everyone so quickly and move on that no one will know where exactly he is. Vindicares have stealth suits as well. They can see through walls and shoot right through walls. Not to mention that their Exitus rifles have godlike range.
tips for making an assassin - get tight fitting body suit and add skulls
@templar1243
that is just a rumour. no official record has been found.
Conceptwise, both share tropes which can be traced by to Starship Troopers ( the novel ).
SC has direct references to Aliens ( some of the unit responses, and building designs. )
WH40k has direct refs to Dune ( lasguns, Navigators etc )
not direct link between SC & WH40k.
A game letting you play as one of these guys would be infinitely better than any Assassin's Creed game ever. And I like Assassin's Creed.
@Incineration69 From a scientific standpoint they are fruit because they have seeds but in cooking they are treated as vegetables. I admit that since i was using a culinary example I probably should have used something like a apple.
@k1ll3rbunny What about how much people are thinking "Obbuwei, Paradium" (that is what is the chior is singing right?)
1 assassin" because they win most of the time (when they aren't the antagonist in a epic novel) Is this M'shen an imperial assassin?
whats the music from? i like it.
The nostalgia!
@DGneoseeker1 why the @#!$ don't we use those?! those were cool dudes in the heresy novels!
génial , fantastique , supert , bravo
@Azirtiro In theory. But also it depends on the individual. Some assassins are less skilled than or more skilled than others, regardless of experiance. Same goes for Astartes. Talos used his abilities to the fullest as did M'Shen, but Talos came out on top.
Love can Bloom at the end.
@Musikkingofthecookie And Deathwatch?
Works!
@Liquidazot What do you mean manga here?
WE NEED A VIDEO GAME WHERE YOU ARE AN ASSASIN!!
@TheSk1970 I thank you. For watching and for a kind comment. :)
Some may be able to avoid the judiciaries of the Adeptus Arbites, fewer may be able to face off against the Imperial Guard and the Adeptus Astartes, but let it be known that none can stand against the Officio Assassinorum.
a space marine would take his time he's not a hiding coward he fights with courage and honor. And who's labeled the emperers finest.
nice vid are there any pictures of the vanus temple assassins?
Agreed. GG. You've stated your facts and in argument he mearly repeated most of them and assumed he was winning.
GG.
Assassins , the terror of the enemies if the God Emperor. You will never see us coming
@BaldurandVali Thought we we talking about a loyalist space marine but doesn't make any difference, they're pretty equal at fighting.
Eversor...."A destroyer".....Most fun weapon to unleash....
The Assassins of the imperium are terrifying...
@epicdude61388 not unless your on TableTop hehe, then you miss loads of times(my Assassin keeps missing when I order him to hit Commander's like Captains, but always hits Guardsmen for some reason...)

@wraith1771 FoK has kill counts, I believe.

Great !!!
@Trollingwithmyhomies The picture at 1:15 was drawn by me. If you dont trust me, got to deviantArt and surch for my username. Then you'll see by yourself.
I'll add something in the description for you.
EPIC!
did you know that the Crysis Nanosuit was designed off the vidicare assassin?
@irfriske if you make it into the vindicus temple, you don't miss......
Can't wait for Assasins Creed 40,000!!!
The eversor isn't an assasin so much as it is a guided missile. You aim it and wherever it lands things die.
@omganotherun Aren't Callidus assassins all originally females? I remember reading somewhere that Polymorphine works better with females.
НАРИСОВАНО КРАСИВО
@Makkovar Make a Space wolf Tribute PLEASE!!!
@Zefurion1988 thank you.
Mine is EVIL LOOKING and spiky).
where are the pictures at 0:54 and 1:58 taken from?
@1anaken The GDI commando in turn gets pwned by the Nod Cyborg Commando. End of that :P
@harlequin2262 im not gonna hate, im just curious. Why did you watch a warhammer video if you dont like it?
