If you have any leftover scales when you finish the dress, you could always make plain totebags and sew the scales on them to make dragon tote bags and then give them away to your patrons! 🥰

This! Making a cape is the perfect addition to such a complicated dress. You can pick your favourite scales and sew the dress exactly as you like. All the other scales can be used in the cape and be worn to elevate the dress, but you can also take it off or drape it next to you in photos, when all the fabric and beads become too heavy. A cape can be as short or long as the surplus scales allow for... plus you have much more flexibility to incorporate the unique scales that do not easily fit in the gradient, as the design will be totally your own.

Those scales are amazing and some of them are absolute works of art. But we rare talk about the tedious part of making art, and I love how this video was basically three days of a color-sorting pre-school activity, complete with rolling around on the floor crying and ending with a nap. Art is a journey and it takes us through all the stages of life.

So many great LED lights nowadays ! The kind that you can change color on with an App. would be perfect !

The final gown has to be amazing just with that alone. While I cannot go to the Florida convention, I know that I would love to see a panel on "craft hacks". These would be ways to handle a fast finishing of one's cosplay when time is just about up. What to do (supplies, repair techniques) for "fashion emergencies". I am not a fancy cosplayer so my emergency kit consists of elastics bands, lots of safety pins, tape and one needle with neutral color thread.

This is probably the coolest project I've seen any youtuber do that engages their viewers. I'm new here, but you and your viewers are extremely talented and creative.

I feel like you could now make bags with them as well, a scarf...a cape...other accessories and even a blanket.

You can do it! I have faith in you. Also so kind of the Marquis and your cat (not your cat?) to help you sort,

The two hardest things to handle in life are failure and success. 'Helpfully' Canada post lost the 60 scales I tried to send. Great video, nice to see you point out different cool ones along the way, all the glorious despair, the Marquis and Notmycat helping. Looking forward to seeing the dress come together.

If your scales ever make their way back to you, you should maybe make a "Barbie doll" version of the dress 😉

The scales are amazing! You'll have to make notmycat something, he seems to love them.

    This is SO magical.
The scale(s) of it alone and individual contribution and community talent & power. Beautiful. Brought tears to my eyes. First finding of this place and these people and oh what magic I have found.
