@@m.maclellan7147 I really don't think so, in previous videos she explained the cat has owners who live nearby and he just likes to wander around and liked to hang around the house Ariel owns now even before Ariel moved there :)
My neighbour's dog is at my place a lot. I take her for walks and she usually stays with me 3 days a week, and sometimes for overnight stays if her peeps are away. I love her, and apparently, she thinks I'm ok, too😊
It's so funny that you keep saying that the cat is not your cat, but for the way he behaves, he definitely feels that he's the actual owner of the house and he's just letting you guys live in it. Cats are funny that way (I know, because that's how mine behave). And about the kitchen, oi good job!!! I always wanted to do the same in my house, but when the time came my father didn't let me, and hired people. So, I live through you for now. Thanks.
Behind the sink is called a back splash in the US, but a splash back in the UK IDK what it is in France. I've never seen it applied with the bottom row angled like that! I love it! It keeps any wayward water from puddling on the countertop or rotting the caulk! Your kitchen looks professionally installed, Great first attempt❤!!! 👍
I’m Interested knowing rational for tilt of tile. Agree on tile color. Hey if tape works on door/drawer to open until find/do something who cares still functional.
We've always called it a backsplash, too (I'm English) - maybe it's a regional thing; lots of words vary depending on your location The angled bottom is a very cool, practical idea :)

I usually laugh during your videos and really appreciate your humor. For some reason, this video has got me laughing more than normal. The forbidden stuff got me. 😂
My partner prefers tile for the cooling effect, but I like the look of wood....guess what our house is gonna have. Also, its definitely a backsplash. A credenza is a sidetable thing, usually in the dining room. You said something about the cat getting fan art, not you, and I immediately thought of a little something (drawing, etc) with a bright red ponytail and a beret (sorry for the stereotype in my brain, heh😅) I hope this little bit of liking and commenting helps! I love watching your art, in whatever form it appears ❤
The cat is just always having the best time, haha cats love watching humans do stuff. I love the wooden looking tiles, my mom had them in her restaurant too and people always thought it was wood but it's so much easier to clean and also doesn't show every single speck of dirt and it doesn't warp. The bluegreen backsplash tiles are lovely too.
Absolutely amazing ! That was SO much work. I laughed at the "forbidden" building materials called 'creme fraiche' or "chocolate mousse". Made me hungry, lol 😆
That is so much work! why do home renovation projects always take 3x as long to complete as you think they will? It looks simply smashing and my favorite part are the tiles on the backsplash. Great job!
The rule is it takes three times as long and costs twice as much money! I’ve lived through it many, many times and that rule NEVER changed!! The trick is to keep your expectations where they belong!
Know the renovation is frustrating, but I still think it's super charming that your house in the middle of nowhere was originally built or modified to likely help a wheelchair-user maintain a level of independence 🥰 For the age and location of the house, very unexpected! And, your own renovation efforts are actually encouraging about how straightforward converting accessible homes (from AND to) can be 💖
I really love that backsplash (credenza is a cabinet in English, lol) choice. They look somewhat antique and really match the rest of the house's energy. I would suggest some antique blue glass knobs/handles for the cabinets to match the backsplash, I think that would look fantastic and tie everything together.
Your home renovation projects are sooooo inspiring. 🤩 I finally own a home and I’ve been telling my husband how I want to do our bedroom ceiling like yours for a year 😅 Now my new inspiration is this incredible kitchen! I love home renovation projects because it takes an engineering mind to figure out how to do the things, and then an artistic mind to make it look the way I want! Its the best of both worlds!! It’s incredible and so fulfilling 🥰 Thank you for sharing your processes with us!!
We are renovating our house, too! Should be done in a couple weeks. You are SO right ... the worst part of renovation is, without a doubt, losing a kitchen. It's amazing how difficult it is to live without that one room!!
Lolz we have been redoing our kitchen here en Bretagne and we too have an IKEA kitchen avec le meme sink and tap. We were also going to put those exact wall tiles in the bathroom. They look lush! Love how it turned out so far, can’t wait to see what you come up with for the decoration. Bravo 👏
Raw wood is porous and on high touch surfaces like drawer handles would become a colony of germs and bacteria. If you want wood handles I would highly recommend sealing them with mineral oil. I look forward to your continued renovvations and decorations. If you wanted to film your adventures in cooking I would love to watch that. Culinary Arts & Crafts.
I thought I would hate the tiles on the backsplash, but it turned out surprisingly classy! The tiles look like they have always been there, yet they are so nice and clean, and without a single cracked piece, what an improvement! The floor looks amazing, too, I hope it will not kill your backs by being too hard to work on, but people have been working on concrete floors for generations, so you'll probably not even notice. When it comes to handles, I have one tip: Avoid any sharp angles, especially if they are also narrow, like in a small plate of steel, because they are extremely good at ripping clothes apart. Hm, might want to install one in the sewing room...?
Omigod it's so good! The tiles from the pool section are my favorite part. I think I could watch you do anything and be entertained. I'm so glad I found your channel.😊
BRAVO!!!!!! Seriously cool especially the Mini Bar Library ...looks like it was always like this!!! Love how the "Pool" tiles play with the lounge colour, and loving "Not Your Cat"
Lol I have the same kitchen (the one before sadly), non working small fridge used as storage, big, noisy and useless extractor hood, everything brown. The oven also makes as much noise off than on (a lot)... So far we only painted over the old oak finish and changed the handles. Can't wait to overhaul it!
😂oubliées les pâtes à crêpes, mousse au chocolat… un montage si créatif dans un chantier de cuisine 👍🏻 Astucieux ces carreaux de piscine 🤩 et les carreaux inclinés ! Okay, I loved the wood of the old cabinets but it seemed like they had some mechanical/functional issues and had to go (and the counter had to be higher anyway). The replacements are lovely and really reflect the light from the glass door to brighten the whole room! Excited to see what color you paint the walls (cuz I can't imagine you leaving them white lol).
I would put curtains or something on the opening to the livingroom, I think the bar thing is a really good idea and it turned out super cute but if you are cooking something really smelly like bacon or that makes a lot if smoke it's nice to be able to block the kitchen off a bit. Also I get nervous when people watch me cook so I wouldn't want my guests to stare at me from the livingroom but that might just be me😅
But there is only half the size of door now so less smell??Though that is the main reason why i don't like open plan living, we have a small opening to kitchen / dining room and the smell comes out into the lounge so annoying . I hear You about being watched cooking though x
I have just found you tonight. I love your style, from what I've seen. The tile choice was brilliant and the green paint in the loungroom is amazing. Well done.
I've seen some people paint or wallpaper white fridges and/or change the handles to elevate the look. I bet a black fridge or a teal matching your backsplash would look great.
This is giving me life! We had to completely gut and renovate our crusty 70s kitchen (which hurt my soul a bit). The landlords didn’t maintain it over the nears so by the time we moved in it was completely unusable. We’re still renovating the rest of the house and this is giving me motivation to keep going🤎
Yaay! That was so much work!! Glad your Patreon folks and YT members have been able to support you. It already looks great! It'll be brilliant when you decorate it.🎉.Not your cat is also incredibly cute. Congratulations to all three of you! ❤
I empathize having the fridge and microwave in the living room and having to do the dishes in the tub. (we lived through 3 months of redoing our kitchen as we had to wait for permits) gorgeous and I adore the color of the backsplash
Wow! You guys did a great job!! It takes a lot of courage to tackle a job like that without experience or outside help! Well done!! It turned out wonderful. The worst part was washing dishes in the bathroom sink/tub!! You are so right! The kitchen renovation mess goes through the whole house!! Between storing all the kitchen appliances and stuff plus all the new stuff for the kitchen, it takes up a lot of space!! Thanks for sharing the adventure with us!!!
Good choices for your kitchen! I have those wood-like tiles in my bathroom and upstairs toilet since 2016. And to this very day, I absolutely love them.
Thank you! We had to put the furniture away from the wall because of plumbing, so the angle is to accommodate the little gap. I like the look of it, it looks more custom🙂
😲😲😲😲😲😲 Endlessly amazed and impressed at your creativity, skills and courage to just dive in and do things. More power to the atelier ❤️❤️❤️ it looks Amazing 🤩🤩🤩
I love the tiles that you chose for behind the counter, I wanted something very similar or maybe even the same for my small bathroom but even in a small bathroom it was just too much square fooatge and it would have too expensive to cover all that so I'm living vicariously throught you!

the cat gets fan mail ?!? ;-)
0:22 You are his human. =^_^=
I wonder if the neighbor who owns the kitty ever watch your videos and sees their cat hanging out lol
She said in this video, "The cat came with the house," so I am now wondering if the former owner of the house left the cat? 🐈
@@m.maclellan7147the cat belongs to a neighbor, but wanders to multiple neighbors homes at will.

You almost have enough corkscrews to use them as drawer handles...
Beautiful work!

Cyd in the USA. Your idea of using the doorway as a multifunctional area is genius. Bookshelf...check. Cocktail bar...check. Coffee bar...check.
It is actually really common in Europe
"Construction is just arts and crafts, but bigger." I love this!
I currently have a contractor tiling my bathroom so I shall now consider him an artist.
I checked with my contractor, and he likes the term "artisan." However, such term puts him in a higher tip bracket when the job is finished.

You did such a good job with the forbidden creme fraiche! Never would've guessed that your old door frame was a wall-eating monster.
But what was up with that installation! I do not understand how someone’s mind would think that’s the most efficient way to install a doorframe.
In America the tiles on the wall behind the counters are called a backsplash. A credenza is a piece of furniture ;-))
I think the English word for the credenza is the backsplash? Being German, I'm not sure if I'm correct, heh 😅
Gold star ⭐️
