"As a fashion history enthusiast, I am mortified..." Why would you be embarrassed? Bridgerton's not a historical drama, it's just a historical fantasy, and it's not like you're responsible for any of it, so you have no reason to be embarrassed about it.
They didn’t understand how camp your outfit was. The Bridgerton costuming is absolute bonkers in a lot of ways and your outfit really leaned into those fun exaggerated aesthetics
YES! I bet those kids have never even watched bridgerton nor read jane austen, nor are able to understand the philosophy behind what they are watching. They could not even understand the slightest thing about her outfit within it's context but decided that they dont need to know to go and hurt another person. I worry about the world.
The other day I was selling my textile art at an art fair and these teenage boys came up and immediately went into a bullying routine. They said disgusting sexual things about my art and then started commenting on ME and I told them they needed to f**k off. And they were FLABBERGASTED that I talked back to them! The shock on their face when I said "you guys are being really mean, leave" was crazy. "No one cares about being mean because there are no consequences" hits the nail on the head. Nobody is (or not enough people are) telling these kids to act better! (And ftr for every mean thing those losers said, there were twice as many nice comments, and I made some sales. I actually sold one of the pieces they insulted. It was hard not to think about it the rest of the day tho. Negativity sticks with you but I'm trying to focus on all the nice people instead.)
There are a lot of people who are ready to dish out hateful comments, but then become poor wounded lambs when they receive the same treatment. The lack of empathy and self-awareness is staggering.
Yeah, these youngsters thinking they can do and say anything because it's online and there are no consequences. Boy are they going to find out fast when they try that nonsense in the real, grown-up world!
I love how Karolina, didn't try to shame the haters blindly but instead researched the haters, learned their demographics, their age range and how cyber bullying is so integrated in their cultures. Took hate and turned it into a research opportunity. Also, you definitely looked great ❤
we're living in an era where the online gremlins bask in their anonymity and deflect from their behavior with platitudes of "it's not that deep bro / it's just a joke / sensitive much?", nonexistent moderation or even being boosted by the algorithm to farm negative reaction engagement
Cause they feel like they can hide behind a screen and there will be no repercussions. These people irl are the most pathetic wet blankets ever existed.
@@serebii666 because they see celebrities (and some politicians) get engagement, audience and wealth being negative, and they won't see yet how that it allright for some, but in real life, that will impact your education, your relationships and even make you lose your job or freedom, reality will bite hard.
This is pretty spot on. I think it starts very early with not letting children argue/fight at the playground. Whenever I'm watching little relatives I have to keep reminding myself that it's okay to let them bicker and find out which reactions their behaviours cause (with a limit, of course - there are cuts and bruises and a broken finger and then there are serious injuries that never fully heal/are life-threatening). It has become so hard to reign yourself in as a parent/guardian because it is expected that all arguments/fights are immediately settled by an adult instead of children figuring out how to do it themselves. And of course all this is not done maliciously - parents don't want their children to get hurt, so they try to avoid them ever experiencing negative emotions. But that does not equip them for life, I think - they don't become resilient to attacks, don't learn to settle a dispute and crucially, because fighting/arguing is never allowed in real life, they do it online, where their behaviour is not policed at all. I think, to avoid this, there needs to be a more balanced approach in real life, where adults/policing comes in at a later point to allow children to learn social skills. Additionally, online harrassment needs to be policed more often and earlier.
Calling the Bridgerton costumes historically inaccurate and then showing up to a Bridgerton event in something even more inaccurate to pose with said costumes is literally so iconic. Also I think the outfit was cute, it would go so hard at a fantasy convention with an elf or siren costume
I thought she looked like an elf or fairy as well. The outfit didn't work so well as a historical outfit in my opinion, but it would look so good if she was dressing up as an elf
When the full body photo of you sitting in a chair in the translucent gown showed up I quite literally gasped. It looks like a painting! The shine on the dress, the pose with your arm bent at an angle, the spotlight on your side profile, everything looks portrait quality 🤩
People like to say things like "we should bring back bullying" online. In reality, bullying never went away. People have just learned that they can get away with bullying if they pick a target they can convince others deserves it or if they can interpret someone's actions as incorrect and therefore worthy of punishment. You said one single thing once that wasn't 100% positive? Then they want you to be miserable and by God, they'll make it happen, no matter how small your mistake was. It was never about delivering justice. It was about getting to hurt someone and not have to face consequences.
"They deserve it tho" is what bullying has always been. Most people have a moral compass that makes them feel bad when they're being mean to an innocent person, but if they're not so innocent or heck, not even a "real" person, now that's when you start talking sht.
Well said! I always see those types of comments on cringe compilations. From my experience, bullying makes you even weirder. I have a feeling that these people were the bullies and are trying to justify their actions as "building character".
I say "we should bring back self awareness and a lil bit of shame" but bullying never helps, just makes it worse. I hate that "what doesn't kill you makes you stronger" bullshit, because that has never been true for me. I've been bullied my whole life and that just made me weak, fragile, slow and stupid. It's only negative
I was gonna say something similar, but as a compliment! The dress is great, the corset is great, and I'm pretty sure wearing underwear on the outside makes her a superhero. What's not to like?
It’s actually interesting topic to analyse, we often talk about how there are people like to troll or just overall being mean and judgemental online, and it’s interesting to try to figure out what types of people would more likely do this as a hobby I also feel like the amount of trolls on the internet are increasing
I’ve definitely noticed that social media users have become ruder and more defensive over the years. From a young age, they learn that moral outrage gets likes and attention, which makes them feel justified in hitting back harder at perceived injustices. While it’s great that kids want to "stand up for what’s right" and defend those who have been wronged, this need for constant internet validation pushes them to actively seek out things to be outraged about, often jumping to conclusions without understanding the full context. By the time someone clarifies the situation, they’ve already moved on
it’s less the users themselves, and more the fact that social media platforms in and of themselves push inflammatory comments to the top to farm engagement and generate profit. That’s why it’s become nearly unbearable to exist on the internet in recent years, especially on twitter, instagram and facebook.
I think there's also studies that content that makes you outraged makes you engage more. (Source: a cgp grey video maybe titles something like 'this video will make you outraged')
It's crazy... People feel safe on the internet, saying what they want without any consequences because even a ban will just make you have a new account and restart. And once the illusional validation kicks in, they need more of it. It's like an addiction, and they want to keep up with the good feeling so they continue...
Why are they worried about it? Bridgerton is full of the randomest raceṣ playing what they never were in that time in history. They can wear whatever they want, the show isn't rooted in reality.
@@Maialeen Bridgerton is historically inspired fantasy rather than historic fantasy. Research, What research? They arn't historically accurate, and Karolina was clowning on it.
Can I just say how much I appreciate that you DIDNT buy something new for this event!!! I am a huge believer in wearing what you already have even if you don't have an outfit that matches an event perfectly! I dress up for Halloween every year, but I haven't bought a Halloween costume in years because I just use something I already have. I think constraints on not buying new clothes really push us to be creative in our fashion and that was clearly on display in your outfit! I absolutely loved your look and I think it's so cool that an event with a dress code outside of your comfort zone pushed you to be creative with your fashion and resulted in a fantastic look!
I totally agree, especially if it is for events you only attending one to a few times. Taking what you have and making it work with creativity or buying second hand should be more appreciated.
I do thrift and sometimes make stuff for my Halloween costumes, but it's usually pieces I can re-use either for future costumes or just stuff I'll normally wear.
To me the Dress literally says: Karolina is the Distant polish noble cousin of Cressida (given the dress), who is slaying among the polish "Bridgerton" royalty 😂
“A lot of those people looked like they would not take any risks when it comes to fashion” is probably the best come-back, honestly. It was a bold look, I can totally see why people both loved and hated it but either way it seemed perfect for the type of event that you went to.
Basic level against haters' comments: ignore them Ordinary people against these comments: explain things to prove themselves Karolina: *ANALYZING THE POPULATION OF THE HATERS AND ALSO THE WHOLE PHENOMENON*
one of my grandmas friends got a mean comment on her tiktok and she was genuinely heartbroken, crying. it really shocked me because hate comments are just the norm on social media. i thought it was cringe until i realized she doesnt know anything about social media. if someone came up to me irl and said something horrible i would probably cry too. i doubt the person who made that comment even realized she was gonna read it.
People becoming more stupid by the day. Your poor grandma that breaks my heart 💔😥 Her response was totally normal however, and ppl should all remember that. Detatching ourselves from what we should actually feel isn't a normal response. And btw, she's not the 1st person I've heard who's of some older generations that hasn't been heartbroken by online hate. It's truly appalling. No one should be normalizing this shit, it's only gonna continue on its path of getting worse if we do.
First and most importantly I’m so so sorry they spoke to her so meanly. Secondly it’s honestly reassuring that there’s actually people who aren’t desensitised to this stuff, it means the people she knows are nicer than this
"Media literacy is dead" it's truuueee and it makes me so sad because oh my lord does both the new and old generation need to start thinking critically about what they're reading and saying online. One of the best and most useful classes I ever took in college was called "Media Literacy Theory" and some people thought it was a throwaway nonsense class but NO, it needs to be taught in grade school AS MUCH as we teach MATH in my opinion
Seriously. It’s an important critical skill and it’s way beyond time that it’s part of the curriculum at a young age. I also think critical thinking and how to offer and accept critique are important (as in how to give people criticism in a way that helps them improve not just tears them down or is cruel for the sake of it).
People online are just mean. I got cursed for not agreeing with another's users opinion on astrology. I told them they were worse than a German political leader
Media literacy, scientific literacy and basic statistics are ESSENTIAL to navigating and improving society. They should all be standalone, mandatory classes! But also, maybe our species is just kinda dumb and overly emotional?? Idk 😩
That read of "they don't look like they take risks when it comes to fashion" is so good. As a fashion girlie, sometimes the fit is a little cooky and sometimes it eats
@ yeah, and the fact they were kids or just barely makes it worse, I hope they grow up because honestly people like this can not function properly in a society
At first I thought it was hilarious how people didn't get the super obvious joke, but very quickly I got scared by the level of hostility and the pile on. I really felt bad for Karolina there, she didn't deserve that.
@Patrick3183 Yes. They should shut themselves in their rooms. Don't wanna "put yourself out there" because it's then apparently allowed to criticise you for breathing too loud or something.
It's not because Karolina is a woman, but because she's a well-known Bridgerton criticizer and seemed like fresh meat. Some salty fans worked themselves up and then others hopped on the train for fun. That's it.
Such a valuable video! I don’t often promote books, but the book women’s magic truths on borlest is an exception. It’s packed with insights on wealth and self-care that are not widely known. All the best to everyone
i'm honestly so happy you are more level-headed than most people online. i honestly find it HILARIOUS when people go so far and they don't get the joke, or they just literally know nothing of what they're speaking on. but a lot of people, especially online, take everything so personally as to make or respond to comments like those. and just fyi- you ASOLUTELY killed it in that outfit!!
What you said about professional haters is so true! I started blocking and restricting people if I see them posting vile comments anywhere, on anyone's post. Surprising how quickly the majority of negativity vanishes.
normalize curating your online space babes it does wonders for your mental health and wellbeing i’ve blocked profiles on tumblr and insta simply because i didn’t like their vibe and moved on
that's nice but the idea of finding the comments and blocking each one would make me go insane. and I couldn't possibly block all the gross people online so :(
I personally liked your costume - of course it wasn't historically accurate, but you knew that and had fun with it! I'm sorry you got so many negative comments, and I seriously hope that more people realise that being rude isn't some trend to jump on in order to get Internet validation
"I don't have the context needed to understand what's going on therefore it is YOUR FAULT that I'm confused which naturally gives me the right to be cruel"
The adults in the room say you killed it! The ones whose frontal lobes haven't fully developed yet are just being antagonistic, without fully thinking it through. Your photoshoot was gorgeous!
they were just nasty ppl its not bc theyre young. im just a few years older (18) and those kinds of ppl r my peers and they r just nasty ppl. and they stay nasty when they get older and their brains develop they just become more passive aggressive and snarky about it
@@alexanderh8129 no i'm 21 and it's definitely because they're younger lol. Some of the most antagonistic people I know are always younger than me and my peers. When I was in school it def wasn't the norm to be that way. Older people aren't antagonistic for the sake of it, or because they think its normal, or because they want the attention. They actually mean what they say.
A good friend of mine is also a RUclipsr and she knows a video is going viral when her usually loving and supportive audience is drowned out by mean comments and toxicity. It always makes me sad that any success online is mixed with uncontrollable negativity. For what it's worth, I've been watching your channels for about 4 years and there are so many reasons I come back - both your humour and your fashion sense are up there.
i wouldn't wear this fit but it's art. It's bridgerton coded as hell and almost parody. It looks amazing. The transparent dress also looks fantastic on its own.
The whole gag of it all is that the corset is super historically accurate on top of a shiny holographic modern dress. Like that's the whole point I feel like anyone with a brain cell would be able to ascertain the irony
You talking about how you're a nobody etc girl you literally have 1.3M subscribers... You ARE a major player in historical fashion youtube. You may not be the foremost academic expert in historical fashion, but you're among the most well-known public speakers on this topic. People do want to see you in these themed events. Feel free to school everybody! Act like a guest of honor because you are!!
when you mentioned you then posted a reel, it all made sense. I don’t really go on instagram these days, so when i recently scrolled through a few reels, the rudeness and aggression in the comments really threw me off! The mildest, least controversial videos were getting the most hateful comments. Idk what it is about reels on instagram specifically but it’s really weird.
I think it’s slowly starting to get better, or maybe it’s just my algorithm that’s getting better lol. But yeah, Instagram reels is a strange place. The people who gather there are either socially brain dead or just angry and hurting. It’s actually miserable to watch
Karolina: Great costumes, lovely, not accurate but I enjoyed Internet: OMFG she absolutely TRASHED the show ------- Event: Dress modern Karolina: Dresses modern Internet: SO UGLY AND INACCURATE OMFG see, you no better than netflix! ------- Let's just be polite and say that people on the internet are not... patient enough to understand a situation if it takes more than a sentence to explain. Unless it's a celebrity drama ofc. It's also so funny that you are accused of being rude to Netflix (a company, not even to a person) while writing such comments... Loved the dress btw, you slayed, I'm glad the whole situation did not affect you too badly, you handled it like a pro
As soon as you stated talking about this i KNEW it would be literal children doing this. No manners. I'm raising Gen Alphas myself and the rudeness they are exposed to at school, in places I cannot fully control (like their tablets) is truly astounding. I'm teaching them manners, but clearly 90% of the planet is not teaching their children manners. Instagram is turning into Twitter and neither are suitable for teenagers, let alone kids. It's a cesspool which doesn't add anything to our society when it's full of these people whose parents have failed them so spectacularly.
I'm homeschooling my kids and learning unacceptable behavior at school is one of the (many) reasons why. But at least where I live, you don't see that behavior in public places, or at least I have never heard it when out and about around here. Online is a whole other thing, and why only my eldest (19) has a computer in the bedroom.
It’s not a gen z only thing. After Covid my grandma refuses to be even remotely cleanly and polite. It has so much to do with attitudes and politics and how we center justices. Also no matter what you do your children will discover the internet. With or without your input.
As an Indian teenager myself, I would like to offer some perspective. First of all I am so sorry you had to receive all that hate, it was completely invalid and unnecessary, and even if it didn't seem to affect you that much, it's still very annoying. The reason why a lot of people my age feel comfortable spewing hate (esp in India) is because it's almost normalized to be hateful on instagram "as a joke", like "oh its just dark humor". In reality, they just say anything for it's shock value in order to receive likes and gain validation from them? It's quite sad that they feel the need to do that imo. You're almost praised in a way if you say something negative because it's "funny" or "edgy". I think most of the hate stems from wanting to appear "cool" and gain validation through likes and comments, which sucks. At this point, whenever I open up a comment section on instagram I'm always bracing myself for the meanest comments and it's extremely unhealthy because constantly reading these kind of comments can really affect your mental health, especially as a kid. Instagram is quickly becoming a very negative and unsafe platform and it's disappointing because it is the main place where I talk to my friends. Anyways I love your content sm Karolina, I've been watching it since 2020 and you ignited my love for history and historical outfits so thank you for all the content you post, love you!
Honestly, I admire you more for not buying a new outfit specifically for the event and going in whatever you already had, being a bit more sustainable when possible is more important
Your outfit was actually pretty interesting, and it definitely fit the theme. I really liked the constrast between the hard, opaque texture of the corset against the holographic material. These kind of events are precisely the place to experiment new things, because creativity is encouraged. People just don't generally understand anything about fashion or art in general.
I wish people could poke fun at something without the internet lighting pitchforks over it. If you actually hated the fashion you wouldn't have shown up, much less in something that was clearly aiming for Bridgerton's vibe. They automatically assume everything is malicious, even when it's clearly not.
It takes living longer than for a fifteen minutes to understand nuance between "not being fully onboard with something" and "wanting to torch it to the ground".
There is no nuance on the Internet. You’re either with or against. I can’t describe how irritating this culture we’ve developed online is. People come in swinging because they took one look at something and started feeling instead of thinking. Even grown adults do this shit. The concept of parody is mostly perceived nowadays as mockery, which is really unfortunate
Karolina, please, please, PLEASE, remember that a whole lotta negative comments are posted by "bot" accounts & *not* by real, breathing human beings. Platforms won't get rid of them because they drive up engagement on the videos they post on. Fighting, angry hatful comment sections are still counted on as engagements. It truly sucks but to these corporate monsters money & greed are everything! 😢 YOU _ARE_ BEAUTIFUL! I'll fight anyone that hasn't *ever* dressed up for an event like this yet, has the audacity to run their mouth towards somebody that did & tried their very best. Especially, with constraints such as time, budget or materials. The nerve of some folks, ey?! Who's with me? Pillow fight or what's your ideas?? 😂😂😂❤
To be comforted by imagining that other people on the internet aren't real... well, it would allow me to dehumanise them further, rather than being concerned about the confirmed humans behaving this way
Replying to boost bc this is so true, most of the negative comments that display hateful/bizarre thinking are usually bots, and if it isn't a bot, it's most likely a child. Personal rant below --------------------- Like yeah there may be *some* real adults on the internet that are truly just nasty people that comment awful stuff, but I honestly believe it's a much smaller amount compared to the sheer amount of bots that are able to comment instantly on any piece of media/children who have unrestricted internet access and a ton of time to waste. I get that hateful comments are tough to just ignore, but I'm SO tired of people on the internet genuinely AND frequently engaging with bot/child accounts, uhhhg the internet truly is going downhill faster and faster
Would it shock you to learn that I can't post in Bernadette Banner comments sections because even if I just comment to boost her channel I'll get 10 people who have never picked up a needle in their lives telling me off for promoting not sewing by hand. I did have way more vintage sewing machine demos on my channel but had to delete and restart so I could turn my notifications on again.
@@LotusDecal ew omg i’m so sorry that happened to you as someone who both machine sews and does needlework by hand, i hope you post more demos of vintage treadle machines eventually i’m an enthusiast too and am looking around for the singer sphinx model my wonderfully talented seamstress great grandmother had when she moved here to canada from soviet occupied poland with my family. people are so mean for no damn reason they just wake up and choose violence :(
@@S3lkie-Gutz :) She would have had a Singer 15k as that's what was mostly sold in Poland. Sphinx aka Memphis was also used on the 27k/28k but those machines are not pleasant to use, especially with the treadle which was 'quirky'. Be hyper aware that if it's a mint looking 15k with perfect decal then it's a brand new fake. The near mint decal 66k on my channel was thirty five pounds for reference - You use nerd modelling paint on on any chips to stabilize it.
Each time I watch your videos I can't stop I admiring your persistence, or stubbornes in the 'I don't have modern clothes'. I can't even push through casualwear to more classy in my area, so I'm just WOW. You're amazing! And this dress! Anf THESE photos!
This video made me a little bit happier. Both because of the outfit and the whole shebang (I will watch the show now) and also because of how you shared your reaction (which was well spoken and vulnerable at the same time). I feel like it's really hard both to process the emotions but also try to make sense out of it from different perspectives. Thank you!
I'm a student of history. At one time, it was my major before I had to stop. I have found your videos to be among the most accurate depictions of historical clothing I've seen. Please do not let the haters and trolls stop you from enjoying what you do. There are many of us who appreciate your work.
Ok. Now I am risking getting wrecked myself, but here I go: I remember the first time RUclips suggested one of your videos, and from the thumbnail, I got a super different vibe from what your videos are actually like. I seriously thought you would be super serious and preachy, so I didn’t watch it. Then RUclips kept pushing your content, and I finally clicked on your videos. And now I consider you one of the funniest people I watch. So I guess people didn’t even bother watching the referred videos, and they just went with whatever a Nagging Nancy wrote.
I don't think it's necessary bad to have a negative opinion at first. Sure it's ignorant, but it's not like you're doing anything with that, you're just avoiding content that you suspect you won't like. I think everyone sometimes has a negative first impression of something/someone and then learns its actually different. But most people know that that doesn't mean they should go bully that person, or that they now hate that person.
Your videos literally made me update my opinion on Bridgerton costuming and defend it to people trashing it. When you said it’s historical fantasy, not historical drama, that made perfect sense. I don’t even watch the show, just seen bits and pieces from family watching it. Anyway your outfit was fabulous and totally fit the theme!
You are a mature and admirable human being. I am always so impressed with how some people can turn people attacking them into a reflection and a lesson. Seriously, Karolina, you’re a light to the world.
People are addicted to anger. The endorphin rush from a burst of anger can become addictive, but most people know if you're shouting at a kid or whatever it's probably not a good thing and you're not in the right. But when you're addicted to righteous anger you feel justified, and so therefore there's nothing wrong with their behavior.
Wow! I remember seeing the reel and chuckled. I didn't realize how much that reel blew up. But seriously, people are so gross. I know they're kids, but the absolute audacity is mind-blowing. I love your hot take on your situation. Thanks for sharing and keep being amazing ❤
without knowing who you are- you ate. it’s a cute outfit, i love the colors and the shape and you just made a really cool look. i loved it. the algorithm showed a bunch of ppl that live in sneakers and t shirts your fit and they went ham. the most ballsy fit any of them will ever wear is at their wedding day- if they manage to secure some poor soul for the event
Thank you for keeping the art of media literacy alive. As an elementary teacher, I fully feel the responsibility and importance of teaching and communicating these skills to a growing generation. I love your videos and your structured philosophy. Keep creating and educating Karolina❤.
also…these kids don’t just act that way on the internet. From what I hear teachers have it ROUGH rn 😭 I’m so glad that this response didn’t ruin your joy!!!!
Dude, last week I was picking up a client’s kid from their middle school for an appointment and while waiting I saw a teacher calmly say to a student “hey, can we talk about what just happened, bud?” and the twelve year old child responded “how about you go f*ck yourself you wh*re” WITH HIS WHOLE CHEST. AND THEN STORMED OUT OF THE SCHOOL AND THE TEACHER DIDNT FOLLOW HIM. If I did that at his age, I would’ve been SUPER SUSPENDED. 😵💫
You AREN'T a nobody. You're doing what you love with the freedom of doing so and sharing that, money does not "make" somebody when character does. Take pride in what your doing regardless of what the mainstream says, you're doing great.
When I was younger, I told myself that I would never become one of those "kids these days" adults, but I keep finding myself saying that even though I'm only 29. In some ways, this reminds me a bit of I was talking about with my supervising professor the other day. I'm a graduate teaching assistant assisting a American History 101 class, where pretty much all the students are about 18 or 19. The other day I was grading a take home quiz, and not a single student got a 100... a significant portion of them failed it... mind you this was a TAKE HOME quiz that they had 2 weeks to do over a book that they were required to read for the class where the answers could easily be found in. I was absolutely shocked and I had to ask my professor if this was normal. He was like "oh yeah this has become the norm the past few years." Younger people not only struggle with media literacy, but simply locating easily obtainable information. Also, I've noticed in the 101 class that kid don't even pretend to paying attention. They will straight up have their phones right in front of their face mid lecture. This isn't to say that back in my day we paid attention in class, but we would at least try to hid it. It might have still been obvious, but at least we would have our phones under the table as we scrolled during class. I don't necessarily think today's kids are worse than how we were. However; I feel that they are not afraid to do stuff right out in the open as they typically feel justified in their actions. Why this is, I don't know. Also idk about other countries, but the American education system has absolutely failed the current generation of kids. In many ways, their failures are not fully their fault. Idk, but maybe I'm being too cynical and becoming a crotchety old women before I've even hit 30.
I'm in a similar boat. Returned to college as a 28year old in a trades program with a whole bunch of high schoolers and they are just... They can't do the work?!
I see many adults who struggle with these same concepts. It's a problem of the digital age. And it won't be rectified anytime soon, because people who have a hard time focusing and vetting accurate information are the perfect consumer.
I honestly think most of these behaviours are the result of blatant neglect, many of them have had unrestricted internet access since god knows how young. The education system is failing them too in many cases. I’m in my late 20s and when I was a kid these problems already existed, my year was the first at my school to have these issues on a scale that shocked our teachers. I think as adults we just have to be mindful of how things are framed, for example people talk about ipad kids but have no word for the parents who are responsible for this neglect. And a lot of problems that we like to think of as generational have their roots in wider social problems like sexism or hyper-individualism that we all play a part in. They were simmering away long before they began to boil over! In my country literacy has fallen drastically, it’s no wonder people argue so much online if they can’t understand nuance
Preach!!! It’s so sad 😢😢 screens and moving pictures at young age totally degrade curiosity and perseverance bc literally on second to second level info is being fed into the brain, so need to swatch or question. But then ppl crap on homeschool movement and unschooling and homesteading and 1000hrs outside movements which are just trying to combat this.
I think that sums things up pretty well. But, it's a lot closer gap. Like we have a new server at my job, and they're 21, and we're doing shift change, it's their first day out of training, and they aren't rolling silverware. I am rolling silverware, having just walked in, my coworker about to leave is rolling silverware, they're getting off at the same time, but he's on his phone. It's not that big of a gap, and they lack a lot of the self regulation that people even a little older have.
You are a queen! I am glad that you were able to mentally separate yourself from the mean comments. I could tell it was a struggle not to take all those nasty comments personally. I am sorry that you found yourself part of a social experiment that shows the trend happening on the internet. I worry about the rising generation being raised with the internet. I hope that all of them come out okay on the other side of childhood and teen-hood. It was a gorgeous dress and I love the irony you displayed in wearing it to the event.
The original dress you made is astonishingly beautiful. The way you styled it for the event is fun and creative and totally fits the theme. I love that you didn’t want to waste $ on something you would only wear once! Beautiful, creative, and resourceful!
It's interesting being confronted by the wide world of commenters in the world. When a reel of mine left my niche, really weird and unnecessary negative comments would be growing more and more. So mainly just for the whole notifications I muted comments for the first time and it feels like finally leaving a loud and crowded room and finding silence at last. I like how you analyzed that waves of mean comments and get me thinking once again, why we find the need of just being mean to strangers!?
fr people that watch reels are f*cking vegetables. they can't stand to think about anything in a nuanced way or watch videos that last longer than 5 minutes. I hate them.
The one comment that was like "guys i looked at her other outfits and she has good taste whats going on?" made me so sad. I swear I wasn't this "illiterate" or aggressive as a teenager and that was only a couple years ago, did the internet change so much so quick or did I just avoid the websites where it happened?
@@user-oh6uw9mu9u honestly the sheer speed at which the internet is changing, and with it, becoming more volatile, unwelcoming, often violent, and overall ridiculous, is actually terrifying.
@@s409- Hi, I am Polish and just started learning Italian :) for beginners pronunciation rules are hard to remember and confusing, and as our teacher is from Sicily and doesn't know Polish that well we have a lot of fun teaching each other 🙃
I think a biiiiiiiiiiiig reason why mean comments are so normalized is that social media prioritize negative engagement bc it generates more profit for the companies, of course there is no consequences for cyberbullying, it's encouraged by the system!
Not social media, but people, real people, prefer the negative media. The algorithm i programmed to recognize what types of content people are spending more time watching, if people engage more in a negative way, then it will push it for the rest. Ans so far the algorithm didn't miss, did it? People are stucking in their hate, you can ask someone to stop for 1 second to sign a petition for world peace and they will ay they are too busy to stop, but point them at the direction of a hateful politician or a scandalous celebrity and they will spend a good hour of their lives pointing fingers.
this is why rage bait is so successful, oh lord the absolute nothing Meta does to moderate their platforms infuriates me. they don’t even have a customer support team if you’re struggling with anything the only places you actually seem to get help and support from is the r/facebook and r/instagram subreddits and maybe quora or sub stack if you’re lucky. they allow genuinely vile and disgusting comments up but will shadowban you for the most arbitrary reasons possible(i got a comment on a mutuals post about their breast cancer diagnosis and recovery wishing them well flagged as spam and taken down!) or even suspend your account without warning. i’ve reported genuinely gross and horrific comments and profiles but it isn’t against instagrams guidelines apparently
Your whole outfit actually fits so well! For more cultural repertory, it also recalls so much of "Meu Pedacinho de Chão", a Brazilian Series that uses this Historical Fantasy fashion! I recommend everyone looking it up, because as Bridgerton, references a timestamp on history that is difficult to process without the fantasy, so we need the fantasy to make it easygoing to ourselves!
Those 'wandering' accounts are definitely called Trolls. It's their thing to try and get a response by what they post either by you, or by people who will step up to defend you. If they get a response, even one trying to explain the original post, they just up the nonsense. Best thing is to just ignore them.... if they don't get fed they starve and go away.
True. The problem is that people also overreact that they're not seeing the point anymore. The only way you can only combat these people is by literally blocking and reporting. Attention is what these people crave, and you're giving it to them through anger.
I thought your outfit fit the theme and was kinda hilariously ironically everything Bridgerton seems to strive to be. 😂 I've never watched a single episode ,btw, but have enjoyed all your commentary about the outfits through the years.
What I think is personally funny and a little baffling is that this is the kind of situation where, people would likely look at a celebrity wearing the same thing, like this outfit *could be worn on Bridgerton* , and people would be singing its praising about how "unique" or "groundbreaking" or "ethereal and feminine" it is. But because you're a "just a youtuber," people don't feel bad sending you hate comments. You genuinely made the outfit work. If anything, it *looks* like it could be worn in Bridgerton and you found a way to do that with stuff you had lying around your closet. It's camp as hell and fit the theme of the event and you managed to still make it look decent. But I definitely agree that media literacy is dying. I'm glad you were able to look at all this with your typical Karolina humor and even analyze the data being given to you 😆 Also, the photos of you in the original dress are *actually* ethereal!
You have quite a nuanced take on this. I'm glad you are able to take a step back to analyze why this is happening and not take it too personally. Because you did slay!
Yesterday I looked at 100s of comments left on an innocent video where a woman's legs were showing (an optical illusion meant to look like a robot with a torso separated from the legs). And 80-90% of the comments were r a pe jokes. Many left by teenage boys and young men. With their ID displayed. When called out they would dismiss the commentator as "a Karen". It's terrifying and leaves me with zero hope for humanity. Is that what men and boys are like when their behaviour has no consequences?
@@_spider_cider_on one hand, you're doing the Lord's work. On the other, I wonder if this will just remind them to make a burner account for this type of disgusting behavior and avoid future accountability. It's like damned if you do, damned if you don't
i’ve legit seen fathers with daughters as young as toddlers or babies say such vile things unabashedly where friends relatives and partners can see it, it worries me how they treat their daughters offline if this is what they think is okay to say out loud :(
This is why people saying that Trump won because of old people, don't understand the young generation of men share in those same ideals and came out en masse
You were NEVER rude. You have a right to your opinion. It looked like an amazing event, you look like you had a great time. That being said, the iridescent gown is STUNNING. I just think the corset on top wasn't a good look. It took away from the gown. EDIT: and a fleshtone, white or pastel/light colored dressed would have looked awesome underneath! That being said, keep doing what you're doing ❤.
I LOVED your dress, and I feel like it was appropriate for the occasion because the third season went NUTS with the fashion. Adding fabrics that didn't exist yet and silhouettes that weren't around yet. They went completely left field and, in my opinion, strayed too far from the fashions of the time Bridgerton is based in. It disappointed me that they did that. You looked like an iridescent butterfly❤🔥.
I did not expect this video to go this direction. Such a well put together explanation, well done. Also, I haven't seen any episodes, but your videos about Bridgerton were still very enjoyable. :D

Love your content and I like how your bridgerton outfit turned out, historical fantasy is fun to see well done like this ❤ thank you for this video
Recently someone found one of my mom's old books at some 2nd-hand sale and decided they thought she was some kind of freak because this book, about the care of the human body, mentions feet. Suddenly, just based on a tweet, with no knowledge of her, people are calling her a pedophile and sending her alarming messages and emails. And like...do these people have NOTHING else to do but convince themselves they are important by attacking strangers? Maybe we could all just look for actual problems in our real lives to solve, and not try to make someone else's life worse.
that is so moronic of them. and disgusting. im sorry this happened to your mom's work, she deserves better for trying to educate people on the human body. there is absolutely nothing wrong with that.
Dang i thought that reel was so funny when it came out 😭 your outfit was super fun as well. I really liked that it looked like you had fun mixing and matching the styles
I remember this dress I thought it was fantastic wearable satire. Everyone saying it wasn’t it was like actually shocking me. You fully understood the assignment.
Wow I’m so sorry that happened to you. If we spent all our energy trying to make EVERYONE happy then we would never achieve anything meaningful. Thanks for bringing more attention to this issue of online bullying
As someone who has worked at schools a couple times and has a partner that's been working with teenagers for several years I think there are a couple elements to this. I think the media/internet literacy thing is just the current state of the corporate dominated internet like, they're algorithmically pushing stuff at you, you're encouraged to just consume whatever the platform shows you and you're discouraged to look for things and even exit the app/website you're currently using, before you had to actively look for things and curate what you wanted to follow and see. There's also a very surprising lack of internet and tech education at schools, like I'm a millennial and I remember having classes on how to use a computer and adults would tell you to not do certain things and would teach you some level of online safety, kids these days everyone just kind of assumed they know how tech works and there's no need to teach them anything, many kids I know do not know basic computer/tech/internet stuff, they don't know how to research stuff, cuz all they know is how to use a cellphone and scroll Another element is honestly the capitalism and the economy and how expensive even just getting groceries and paying basic services is, most teens i know are so alone and so isolated cuz their parents dont have time for anything but work and are constantly in survival mode, they dont have many adult role models that actually talk to them or actually call their bad behaviour out, ive seen it
So true! Many of these kids are being blatantly neglected. My year was the first to shock our teachers with these kinds of issues (and much worse) and I think it’s partly because lots of us had unrestricted internet access from god knows how young or were intentionally exposed to messed up stuff by older kids or parents. We were never educated about online safety, we got a little fear mongering but nothing useful. Sex ed was taught far too late given that many kids under 10 were being “educated” online and when we were taught it was also a bit misogynistic. That combined with some bad parenting, understaffing at school, and a decline in the quality of the curriculum was not a good mix! And education sounds even worse in the US 😢
The assumption that because kids grew up with tech they know how to use it is so accurate. I work with kids, and the number of twelve year olds who don’t know how to attach a file to an email is staggering. We still need computer class! It’s such a strange assumption. Did we stop teaching reading after the printing press became ubiquitous and books common? Did we stop teaching addition after the invention of the abacus? Of course not! So why did we stop teaching computer skills, just because kids grow up using them?
So interesting to see how you really didn't allow yourself to get negatively affected by this situation and really stoped to take a look and understand what was happening in that comment section and how that happened. By looking at the profiles of the mean comments, gathering information to understand the pattern. So smart and mature. With that rational reaction you were able to understand this wasn't a personal attack, this people really don't understand the context, don't want to understand and all of this is just a case of "spreading hate in the internet is my hobby when I'm not at school". I'm not saying you weren't emotionally affected in any way in this process, but in the end you were able to survive that wave (like you said) with reational critical thinking and even share this experience with us in this well done video. As a person who's been following your content for many many years I'm so glad your fine and this "haters" didn't push you back.
😢 Karolina is right about the "if I had been someone else who actually cared". My neice had a best friend in high school who was also bipolar. She was bullied at school and then those kids turned to her Instagram page and bombarded her with cyberbullying attacks. Because she was young and very sensitive, she actually committed suicide. I felt really terrible, because I'm also bipolar and I know firsthand exactly how sensitive people with the disorder can be. Which is why I stay away from social media and mostly lurk or use anonymous accounts. Hateful or critical comments make me extremely depressed, and I'm already prone to that, so I need to surround myself with positivity. I don't think that teens are aware of what bullying can do to people on the edge, people with sensitive type mental health conditions, especially if they're bullying other teens who have less life experience to deal with hateful and judgemental behavior.
Wishing you lots of positivity 💕 Bipolar sounds super challenging! I have a few conditions that cause emotional dysregulation so I kind of understand even though I don’t fully understand
@@EmL-kg5gn Bipolar is a condition where it becomes difficult to regulate your mood, and women who aren't on contraception or done with menopause struggle even more due to hormonal imbalance. In particular, bipolar usually causes a person to be extraordinarily sensitive or what some people deem "overly emotional" or "crybabies". The upside is that you have a greater sense of empathy and usually a lot of creativity in the arts, the downside is that you struggle with any kind of criticism (whether it's concrit or not). This kind of personality is particularly unsuitable for being an influencer or someone that gets regularly inundated with all types of judgemental commentary.
@@amonstrwthn Thank you for your explanation! I knew it involves manic and depressive episodes but I didn’t know bipolar people are generally sensitivity to criticism. That’s so important to remember, I’m thankful you told me! It seems like very high empathy can be tiring sometimes but it’s a beautiful trait, and so is creativity 😊
@EmL-kg5gn I think the condition can effect everyone a little different. I read somewhere that bipolar people have a heightened "threat sensitivity" -- so in terms of online interactions, it would result in sometimes misconstruing or exaggerating what ordinary people would consider a critique but a bipolar person might frame it as an unwelcome judgement or even bullying. Then what ordinary people would consider real harrassment would be framed by a bipolar person as a devastating event. Which would in turn, probably lead to self harm behavior or a terrible depressive episode. Take for instance, my own self as a teenager who was bullied (physically and emotionally, this was many years before social media) during Sunday school and church social events. When I was repeatedly isolated, mocked, made fun of, kicked around because they put sticky notes on my back labeled 'kick me'... an ordinary person would probably complain to someone, or say 'f you' and make trouble. Instead, as a bipolar person I made the worst decision (poor decision making is another symptom). I chose to hitchhike the long 9 hour drive back home (from the church function) with adult male strangers who just as easily might have SA'd me (thankfully they didn't, but I was lucky). If you observe 2 people who are bullied or abused in some way, if one of them is bipolar you will definitely witness them responding in some extreme way to the trauma. It's just more difficult for us, based on the way our brain works in a slightly different way, to deal with any kind of perceived stress or harrassment.
I really love that you broke down the countries and the other hateful rubbish these children have left on other content. It speaks volumes about how kids cope with their own issues and how they project them to feel "big" when they think they are exempt from any accountability. Also, speaks volumes about how society, especially social media, rewards/glorifies hateful comments in many cases when other users then jump on the bandwagon and "like" or praise the initial commenters remark. Media literacy, as you've mentioned, is very much a scarce thing, and these literal children are either hateful for the sake of it or are confusing their hateful words for "witty remarks". Its like some new-age fucked up version of a 2000s chatroom. Mate...being a child/pre-teen/teen was bloody hard enough back IN the 90s and 2000s, let alone the 24/7 reach mean scumbags have now! 😢 Love from 🇦🇺
Those commenters really said "I have no idea what I'm talking about but I'm gonna talk about it with my whole chest". Social media really deluded us into thinking our first impression opinions matter, huh?
The breakdown of the accounts demographics and and time zones was super interesting. I’m sorry for you having all the mess thrown at you but you handled perfectly! Slay
TBH the outfit IS a mess, made up of beautiful individual elements. Like a reverse Monet. I love it- so much more exciting and interesting than some bland party dress or half-assed 'historical' costume. For any public event, especially those centering fashion, you really only have two choices: something that will stand out and get attention (good or bad) or something unremarkable that will let you blend into the crowd. You made the fun choice, and for me being considered either "Best" or "Worst" is better than "forgettable," especially when it's a look pulled off with intention. *And* it's perfectly suited to the event, Bridgerton is absolutely a mess, but obviously many people find charm and value in it. It is so incredibly unserious, there's no reason *not* to have fun with an event like this. That iridescent dress is blast as hell though, I'm in love with that photoshoot!
You don't deserve the hate. I had also figured that anonymity was a reason for people to feel comfortable spreading hatred, but I have been thoroughly disabused of that assumption after seeing people spewing the most vile things with their full chest on facebook and in the workplaces over the last decade. It feels more like people lack empathy and have little care for how their words or actions will affect others.
I only spend time in English speaking social media spaces, but I am very much of the opinion that things got dramatically worse during 2016 American Election, and things have intensified with each election in large English speaking countries. It has been a loss of innocence I think.
I feel like it’s kinda flipped now where it used to be the anonymous commenter, now the commenter is disconnected from who they’re commenting about. They don’t see them as a human on the other side of the screen so they don’t think their words have any actual effect

YES! I bet those kids have never even watched bridgerton nor read jane austen, nor are able to understand the philosophy behind what they are watching. They could not even understand the slightest thing about her outfit within it's context but decided that they dont need to know to go and hurt another person. I worry about the world.
Ignorance always emboldens people
The other day I was selling my textile art at an art fair and these teenage boys came up and immediately went into a bullying routine.
Lol guess they forgot they weren't online.
There are a lot of people who are ready to dish out hateful comments, but then become poor wounded lambs when they receive the same treatment. The lack of empathy and self-awareness is staggering.

_“Social media made y'all way too comfortable with disrespecting people and not getting punched in the face for it."_ - Mike Tyson, Jul 2020
@OfficialROZWBRAZEL nah, you don't need to answer words with punching, that's stupid. Use words, that will make bullies cry 😈
@ Not everyone agrees with that view, and it’s helpful to learn about the possible consequences of one’s words in childhood.
I don't know about that, some yeah, but people have different reasons to being mean
Calling the Bridgerton costumes historically inaccurate and then showing up to a Bridgerton event in something even more inaccurate to pose with said costumes is literally so iconic. Also I think the outfit was cute, it would go so hard at a fantasy convention with an elf or siren costume

It was about getting to hurt someone and not have to face consequences.
word
That quote alone made doxxing even worse

Thank god for Karolina and analytical thinking!
True 💪
It’s actually interesting topic to analyse, we often talk about how there are people like to troll or just overall being mean and judgemental online, and it’s interesting to try to figure out what types of people would more likely do this as a hobby
I also feel like the amount of trolls on the internet are increasing
I’ve definitely noticed that social media users have become ruder and more defensive over the years. From a young age, they learn that moral outrage gets likes and attention, which makes them feel justified in hitting back harder at perceived injustices.
While it’s great that kids want to "stand up for what’s right" and defend those who have been wronged, this need for constant internet validation pushes them to actively seek out things to be outraged about, often jumping to conclusions without understanding the full context. By the time someone clarifies the situation, they’ve already moved on
well put!
You nailed it.
Somewhere I heard it referred to as "false outrage." It's disingenuous, serves no one, and has ruined many online spaces.
it’s less the users themselves, and more the fact that social media platforms in and of themselves push inflammatory comments to the top to farm engagement and generate profit.
Ummmm scuse me, but when I saw that outfit, my jaw dropped. I thought it was gorgeous and perfect for the event.

I think constraints on not buying new clothes really push us to be creative in our fashion and that was clearly on display in your outfit! I totally agree, especially if it is for events you only attending one to a few times. Taking what you have and making it work with creativity or buying second hand should be more appreciated.

First and most importantly I’m so so sorry they spoke to her so meanly. Secondly it’s honestly reassuring that there’s actually people who aren’t desensitised to this stuff, it means the people she knows are nicer than this

@@EmL-kg5gnyeah, the older generation didn't grow up in a time where they were so desensitized to things. they actually feel emotions.
"Media literacy is dead" it's truuueee and it makes me so sad because oh my lord does both the new and old generation need to start thinking critically about what they're reading and saying online. One of the best and most useful classes I ever took in college was called "Media Literacy Theory" and some people thought it was a throwaway nonsense class but NO, it needs to be taught in grade school AS MUCH as we teach MATH in my opinion
when was media literacy alive? the average person has always been very dumb.
@@somethingclever8916 this is a joke, yes? For my own mental wellbeing, im going to believe this is sarcasm until told otherwise.
Media literacy, scientific literacy and basic statistics are ESSENTIAL to navigating and improving society. They should all be standalone, mandatory classes! But also, maybe our species is just kinda dumb and overly emotional?? Idk 😩
I am always impressed not only by the depth of your thoughts, but also by your delivery. This is what emotional intelligence looks like to me.

That's it.

i wouldn't wear this fit but it's art. It's bridgerton coded as hell and almost parody. It looks amazing. The transparent dress also looks fantastic on its own.
It is totally a dress that could have appeared in Bridgerton. Maybe some form of it will in the next season. Who knows.

Let's just be polite and say that people on the internet are not... patient enough to understand a situation if it takes more than a sentence to explain. Unless it's a celebrity drama ofc. It's also so funny that you are accused of being rude to Netflix (a company, not even to a person) while writing such comments... Loved the dress btw, you slayed, I'm glad the whole situation did not affect you too badly, you handled it like a pro
I’M SO CONFUSED BECAUSE YOU ATE??? I am obsessed with this outfit, very modern and chic with historical elements. Perfectly bridgerton imo.
and even if she hadn't who gaf
What does "ate" mean?
I really think we need to age gate social media to 15 and up. It would help a lot with body image, mental health, and online bullying
Bad parents breed more for some reason
Everybody: 1800 elements, oh shit...
Karolina: modern clothing, oh shit...
Honestly, I admire you more for not buying a new outfit specifically for the event and going in whatever you already had, being a bit more sustainable when possible is more important
they hate to see a woman get her historically inaccurate period drama outfit on 😔 you served people are just hating
The concept of parody is mostly perceived nowadays as mockery, which is really unfortunate
it's so crazy to me because the outfit was actually a perfect play and twist on what bridgerton outfits convey! i loved it!
Karolina, please, please, PLEASE, remember that a whole lotta negative comments are posted by "bot" accounts & *not* by real, breathing human beings.
@@justme-qd6qb having a negative opinion is one thing, but sharing it is a choice

Oof. Sorry to hear that.
A lot of people I see acting like this are full grown adults. No wonder the kids are turning out mean
My boyfriend is a high school teacher, it’s been a rough time for him
You AREN'T a nobody.
I saw that video on instagram 💀 i couldn't believe people didn't get the point but reels users are genuinely brain dead so I wasn't too surprised

The one comment that was like "guys i looked at her other outfits and she has good taste whats going on?" made me so sad. I think a biiiiiiiiiiiig reason why mean comments are so normalized is that social media prioritize negative engagement bc it generates more profit for the companies, of course there is no consequences for cyberbullying, it's encouraged by the system!
yep!!!
That was so interesting when you analyzed the patterns who were the mean commentators
I've never watched a single episode ,btw, but have enjoyed all your commentary about the outfits through the years.
I'm glad you were able to look at all this with your typical Karolina humor and even analyze the data being given to you 😆
Also, the photos of you in the original dress are *actually* ethereal!
If Lana del Ray wore this dress these people would eat it up.
Media literacy is like 30 years old as a concept. My grandma is older than it. 😭
That’s why I love ppl who go out of there way to find those guys families online and contact them ab it, or even better there work and schools
@@_spider_cider_on one hand, you're doing the Lord's work. On the other, I wonder if this will just remind them to make a burner account for this type of disgusting behavior and avoid future accountability. It's like damned if you do, damned if you don't
i’ve legit seen fathers with daughters as young as toddlers or babies say such vile things unabashedly where friends relatives and partners can see it, it worries me how they treat their daughters offline if this is what they think is okay to say out loud :(
@@S3lkie-Gutz I once saw a father of a toddler making a r*pe joke about another toddler....
Totally
I did not expect this video to go this direction. Such a well put together explanation, well done.
Also, I haven't seen any episodes, but your videos about Bridgerton were still very enjoyable. :D
10:41 lmao some of these are actually funny jokes, like the Superman underwear comparison and the “a plastic bag for a historical ball” or whatever like some of those are actually funny innocent jokes from children and that makes sense they are children lol. I love how you went into the depths researching all this though. Love your content and I like how your bridgerton outfit turned out, historical fantasy is fun to see well done like this ❤ thank you for this video
But that dress is literally beautiful?!?
right? it's gorgeous!
But what do feet have to do with…you know what it doesn’t even matter at this point people will call other folks p-words over ANYTHING
@@iamjackspyramidshapedhelmet ikr??? it’s an anatomy textbook that’s an olympic level jump to conclusions people made
That’s insane, and horrible. People that are so stupid and evil will get it all thrown back at them one day, I’m sure.
that is so moronic of them. and disgusting. im sorry this happened to your mom's work, she deserves better for trying to educate people on the human body. there is absolutely nothing wrong with that.
that’s such a disgusting thing to accuse someone of. how horrible
There's also a very surprising lack of internet and tech education at schools, like I'm a millennial and I remember having classes on how to use a computer and adults would tell you to not do certain things and would teach you some level of online safety, kids these days everyone just kind of assumed they know how tech works and there's no need to teach them anything, many kids I know do not know basic computer/tech/internet stuff, they don't know how to research stuff, cuz all they know is how to use a cellphone and scroll
Another element is honestly the capitalism and the economy and how expensive even just getting groceries and paying basic services is, most teens i know are so alone and so isolated cuz their parents dont have time for anything but work and are constantly in survival mode, they dont have many adult role models that actually talk to them or actually call their bad behaviour out, ive seen it
And I’m so sorry, she deserved so much better
Your grace on this issue is goals. Thank you for posting it and putting yourself out there.
For someone who does not usually dress in modern clothes, you absolutely SLAYED that dress. It looked incredible and you looked incredible.
Love from 🇦🇺
Those commenters really said "I have no idea what I'm talking about but I'm gonna talk about it with my whole chest". Social media really deluded us into thinking our first impression opinions matter, huh?
Annnnnnd you have nicely summarized what it's like as a high school teacher every day now. Social media has gotten real crazy.
@@fionnagrant6636 the advent of things like gamergate and cringe culture has definitely not helped in that regard
I feel like it’s kinda flipped now where it used to be the anonymous commenter, now the commenter is disconnected from who they’re commenting about. They don’t see them as a human on the other side of the screen so they don’t think their words have any actual effect
