    For anyone wanting to try this, I would suggest using something other than electrical tape, which degrades fairly quickly. Anyone that has removed old electrical tape knows how the glue basically melts and liquifies, and makes a huge mess. This process will be sped up being on the window in the sun.

    • @ElineNorth
      @ElineNorth  5 месяцев назад +16

      @@Sandriell didn’t know that, good point though 👍 you just need to make sure you don’t stretch the electrical tape too much cause it’ll bounce back. Got the huge mess that’s why I used a privacy screen ☺️

    Loving this. I'd absolutely try the same thing for my room but it's already packed with similar and I fear it may end up becoming too much 😅
    Seriously enjoy your content and I know it may sound mean but I hope your channel stays relatively small. I feel the more growth creativity gets the more it loses its original passion and I'd hate to see that ripped from you.
    You make great content, keep it up and don't change when you get big ❤

      @ElineNorth  9 месяцев назад +4

      Don’t worry! I’m too stubborn to lose my passion. I got bad grades because I didn’t stick to the basic at school.
      For your room, a simple design could also work, maybe just a border and it doesn’t need to be colored in, it looked cool even without the paint 😁

    😂😂 I was thinking when you said your windows face north. And you don't get a
    lot of light all day long. Like you I also face
    north too. Unlike you I get Sun all day long.
    It seems we are several Latitude lines apart. Since I live in Arizona, USA the Sun
    is smiling it's face right in my room. I may have to Test the Electrical tape to see how it will hold up to the heat. My side window
    should be ok. Under a patio roof and some shade from trees. Thanks for your video

    I just watched another video where she found a adhesive back lead strips like stained glass leading. But it was adhesive fact so you could bend it to any shape you wanted and it looked like real stained glass. Also golden acrylics has a glass medium. In other words you mix the paint with that and it makes it look like glass and you can use it on different surfaces. That being said when I was growing up I did a lot of DIY stuff like you're doing and I think it's awesome I just wish I had known about these nifty things like glass medium and adhesive backed lead strips cuz it would have made things even more awesome and I feel your pain with the electrical tape. as far as what do I listen to in the background of creating well that depends. Growing up and up until a few years ago I had to have something on but now I realize that even if I don't have something on in the background it's never truly quiet My mind will decide to put on music for itself sometimes it's just nice too not hear anything not have to worry about switching videos or picking out a new album to listen to playlist are fun but I can't do them on my TV and RUclips unfortunately if I used my tablet I could but not my TV and inevitably a little while into the playlist I'll be like no I don't want to hear this. And sometimes I'm just so focused on a project that I don't realize that whatever I was listening to stopped hours ago. That's usually when I realize oh my gosh I started yesterday at around 2:00 p.m. and it's the next day after sunrise My husband calls my studio my wormhole or time machine

    I'm curious whether you put any thought into the lightfastness of the paints you used. Window art is definitely going to be subject to a lot of sunlight, so that's one area where lightfastness can be a huge issue even after a relatively short period of time. I learned this to my own detriment a few years ago when I made my own stained glass window art. I hope yours ages more gracefully than mine did!

    Love this idea! I’d like to do this with my 1st floor window, but without the frosted look. It looks fantastic, but my cat would be upset. 😂 Any suggestions for painting directly on the window? I’d probably test with window paint first- but if I go geometric, I could change the colors regularly and startle the neighbors. 😆

    • @ElineNorth
      @ElineNorth  6 месяцев назад +1

      I think your idea of using window paint might be smarter than mine, but yeah do some test strands and how easy they are to remove then you’ll be fine 🤭

    Love your work. Xx

    • @ElineNorth
      @ElineNorth  2 месяца назад

      @@juultjekers that’s amazing I say go for it! The tape has held up, some slips here and there by nothing a little glue can’t fix (only do that when there is a window protector on so you don’t damage your windows). If you do make it yourself, be careful with stretching the tape as it will bounce back meaning it can peel off. So try to stretch it as little as possible. 🫶
