As someone who has lived in the Mohawk Valley most of my life, seeing you honor the original family is so special to me. Fate must have brought you to Herkimer County. The chandelier looks lovely with your gorgeous medallion. Poof and Buttons are adorable.
If there are any ghosts in this house, I'll bet they are the happiest ghosts. You've really honored so much of this place. Everything you do has such a special magic to it.
Christine, I think what you've done would make Carrie so happy, it really makes her artwork shine, and it's that added touch the room really needed. And thanks for letting us get to meet Miss Richardson, she sounds like a lovely lady, and I think you two would have been great friends.
Man that town must just love that they sold this to you. Literally no one else would have taken the care to preserve and restore this house the way you have. It’s so wonderful to see
All I have to say after watching your renovations of this house is that if you’ve got ghosts, then they adore you - you’re putting up pictures of them, and keeping their art and making things look the way they used to - they are gonna protect you when you’re in there!
That is actually a spiritual practice of “waking up the spirit of the house” and doing things like tending to the home in a caring manner in turn compelled the local spirits to care for you ✨
To anyone mixing the plaster: it needs to sit. 2:1 water to powder. Dump powder gently into water, and do nothing. For about 2 minutes. It's soaking. Then you can gently stir. No air bubbles, no vigorous mixing. You get a creamy mixture.
I did not know this! Neither did my mother who worked with molds to make creches for family members. She had to fix the folds where air bubbles settled. She ended up destroying a lot of her work. Thank you for this information!
Stunning, thoughtful, and painstakingly crafted work yet again! (Not that I would expect anything less from our resident good witch, Christine.) 😊 I’m also an artist, but I often forget that art isn’t limited to works on paper and canvas. Christine reminds me that LIVING artfully is a real thing, and a very meaningful practice that can enrich and transform our living spaces into their own unique works of art…more like their own little worlds, even. It’s inspiring. I live in an apartment, so I hesitate sometimes to give it the time and energy it would take to create something so beautiful, because I don’t know how long I will be here. But, really…do any of us ever know that? I think it’s time to stop thinking of my home as a stepping stone to the “real thing” and to take advantage of the fact that my landlord kind of gives me free reign to do whatever I want with my somewhat decrepit 1920 apartment. ❤ Thank you for your magic, Christine! As always, I’m inspired and on tenterhooks to see what you come up with next. Love and kudos to your furry management team! ❤❤❤
