Christine just out here casually doing professional-level plasterwork.
alot of plasterwork uses skills that she's used in cake decorating :) she has a well-developed artist's eye with the manual skills to execute them to perfection (as clearly seen here)!
I love when she posts on Reddit and the guys are like "NO WAY SHE DOES ALL THAT!" and it's like, well, she doesn't just sit online all day lol
That's because "art critics get together and talk about form and structure; artists get together and talk about where to find cheap turpentine"
SHE’S BACK!!!!
For her youtube subscribers it might seem like that but from what she said herself, she quite often can be found on all kinds of other paid platforms. She just isnt fond of posting content for free
@@kirdot2011 That's fair considering all the work and effort she puts into her beautiful creations ❤️
@@Alexandra-uk4vrHer Patreon is awesome and it’s only a couple bucks a month.
My husband and I binge watch Christine!! He's even hooked. Shes amazing. Keep them coming. Her voice and music is alluring
She's on patreon now. That's y
And she has been on netflix as well.
Love that no one else covered her birds and that you have honored her work and added so much of yourself to the room.
So true. Glad that she brought down that shocking blue paint and eased in a matching ocher.
Came here to say the same, it was lovely the way she incorporated Carrie’s art into her aesthetic. The room looks gorgeous 💗
Christine is an AMAZING creative problem solver!
I can't believe that she stayed in the same room for 88 years!!!
BEAUTIMOUS Christine! ❤️🙏
The original family would be so happy and touched to see how lovingly and painstakingly you’ve been restoring their former home
Thats a lucky house
@@Vivaldi111 I'm sure they are hanging out watching all the work she is doing being very impressed and maybe a little weirded out haha
Her respect for the birds she painted is both likable and extremely respectable. I like people who restore rather than rip away.
I swear this woman is the real life dark cousin of Barbie, there's NOTHING this woman can't do! I'm always in pure awe at her diverse set of skills, this is beyond inspiring! 💞🦇
Professor Poof gave a guest lecture at my college. It was hard to follow at times but there was an incredible gravitas that no one could deny
If there are any ghosts in this house, I'll bet they are the happiest ghosts.
You've really honored so much of this place.
Everything you do has such a special magic to it.
These ghosts better not be boo'ing her! Only happy shrieks!
As someone who has lived in the Mohawk Valley most of my life, seeing you honor the original family is so special to me. Fate must have brought you to Herkimer County. The chandelier looks lovely with your gorgeous medallion. Poof and Buttons are adorable.
Christine, I think what you've done would make Carrie so happy, it really makes her artwork shine, and it's that added touch the room really needed.
And thanks for letting us get to meet Miss Richardson, she sounds like a lovely lady, and I think you two would have been great friends.
When she says she has “a little bit of an idea “, it’s always 💯 percent better than I can imagine!
Lol, yeah she's gonna take it over the top. I wish I had that gift. I don't have crafty or creative bone in my body.
Oh my goodness, this is STUNNING. Also, thank you so much for showing yourself wearing proper PPE! I so often cringe at DIY vloggers working with fumes, dust, chemicals, heights, etc. without proper protection. Thank you for protecting yourself, and for setting a great example for others who are inspired by your projects ❤
She's not going into space
@@trashpanda2396 She fell from a height during this project and hurt herself quite badly. She made a point on Patreon of pointing out the lesson learned and why she rented the lift. So yah...the whole safety part is important.
@@rachelw1076 probably because she couldn't see what she was doing wearing that space helmet
When I see a new Christine McConnell video I always click on it immediately, every one of her projects is just stunning.
I was watching something else, then saw this and clicked on immediately! Drop everything when Christine does her practical magic. Every painstaking attention to detail as her visions of the past come to life in the present requires another Bravo!
@@SeaBreeze2247 ABSOLUTELY, she is not only artistic, but seems to know about the logistics of structures as well. Her channel is so much fun to watch.
To anyone mixing the plaster: it needs to sit.
2:1 water to powder. Dump powder gently into water, and do nothing. For about 2 minutes. It's soaking.
Then you can gently stir. No air bubbles, no vigorous mixing. You get a creamy mixture.
I did not know this! Neither did my mother who worked with molds to make creches for family members. She had to fix the folds where air bubbles settled. She ended up destroying a lot of her work. Thank you for this information!
Well I know one thing. No matter where she lives Christine will never have displeased ghosts…..just maybe ghosts that have moved back in to stay with the lady that takes such gentle loving care of their joint home.
She really does everything with pro level artistry and craftsmanship. A master of all she touches! Unreal!
So many beautiful and well built to last homes like this are being bought for the land, completely torn down for some modern monstrosity to be put up in their place or remodeled to modern to the point they lose their very soul and character. It's so nice to see someone with the talent, time and money buy one of these lovely historic homes and restore it to how it looked when it was brand new. You're saving that home Christine and I think this is a lovely and touching tribute to not just yourself and your talents but to the original owners that no doubt loved that home and were very proud of it. Thank you for sharing your journey with us.
Omg Christine! No wonder you never have time to post for us youtube hooligans. Youre so amazing! This is so cool!
You have the patience of a Saint. Everything you do is so high level.
Guaranteed, the lady who grew up in that room is thrilled that you left her artwork but dolled up her room. I know I'd be tickled. What a beautiful way that you honor the period of the home and the homes owners from years gone by. ❤
Using your cat to clean the floor ! Classic 😂
That’s an alternative duster
One should only use organic cleaning products, for the environment!
Is there anything this glorious woman can't do?!!! PERFECTION!!! Thank you for the video!
I love how this home is truly everything you could ever want. You get the history, the space, and the blank slate of having to renovate it to bring it back to its former glory. I bet it brings you so much joy to wake up everyday there 😍
Thank you for putting detail back into this world!
Кристина,ты вернулась❤! Как это правильно- не утратить традиции! Колоссальный труд,но результат этого стоил! Шедевр мастера! 👍👍👍👍👍👏
Your art, style, work, and dedication are amazing! Thanks for sharing
I love christine so much and a real fan of christines work and love her as a person . Everything is perfection in your creative work. Thumbs up is your a fan of christine McConnell.❤❤❤
AYYYYY WHAT A LOVELY MONDAY SURPRISE!! 🎉
I was a union plasterer in my younger days. I KNOW what you have accomplished here and I must say I am very impressed! Hats off to you! I have done this type of mouldwork and casting…. Well done
Pretty sure my jaw actually hit the floor at the reveal! Christine - your talent and focus is unmatched. Your work is breathtaking.
I love all of these episodes. I live in Saratoga Springs and was raised around things from this age. It gets into your soul and becomes part of you. It's hard to explain how one develops comfort and security in the spirit that reverberates through the decades. I guess I sound like I'm babbling, but if you understand and experience the charm and tranquility of the past, it's as if you are one with the past and its energies. Christine is a master of resurrection. I know so many like her, but none as competent. I can't say enough. If Christine ever visits the racing city (Saratoga Springs), she will see an amazing community that has a rich and endless array of mansions and culture that runs along the rails of her genius mind.
When I moved into my home the previous owner had fitted ceiling roses made of some kind of styrofoam. One of the first things I did was replace them with real plaster ceiling roses. Yours are beautiful
The fact that you kept the birds and not only honored but also complimented her work made me a little emotional. I love that you told her story and gave her the recognition. If some of her family is still around I hope they see this!
Hi in my 50 years of being a plasterer in Australia I have covered over and uncovered some plaster works of art,it pleases me to see some one taking time to show the world a fading trade, keep up the great work, bless you.
If you add some hemp or jute fiber to the plaster, it will give it more strength…sort of the old-school method of using fiberglass with resin.
They used horse hair in my house to accomplish that and probably save a little money in plaster. Everyone had horses back then.
Christine is the most elegant woman I've ever seen. Not even exaggerating.
The fact that she is so creative is attractive too.
I love that you did this with actual plaster!
I know this will be just one out of a zillion comments that no one will ever see, but I must say that Christine is by far my favorite RUclipsr!!!
I saw your comment, and I agree. She's simply amazing.
Not only are you a true artisan but also a brilliant genius in figuring out how to do this. The light fixture is gorgeous and it’s amazing you got it all in one piece !
Well Miss Carrie Richardson is smiling down about her new ceiling and room.
How lovely. You can do it all. 😊❤
Sweet Arthur Buttons 🐾🐾
That’s amazing how close your pattern is to the original!! Well done.
Im forever grateful that you got this beautiful house. You’ve given so much heart to this home, keeping its historical integrity, but also giving your own touch to it. You’re doing a bang up job😍
I so missed Christine's videos. This was worth the wait! Thank you Christine!
Your mansion is gorgeous, the plasterwork looks amazing! love the vintage jewelry your wearing too!!
Oh my gosh so excited to see a new video!!
The room looks so adorable now. Your hard work really paid off.
Christine, you never cease to amaze me with your elegance, talent and beauty! Your pets are adorable, I have a particular soft spot for Professor Poof.
The grand reveal is more stunning than I could have ever imagined 🤩 As Always!! Wonderful work!!!
Yay!! I miss Christine and her amazing videos. More please, Christine McConnell! 🩷😁🩷😁🩷
Your talent for design and figuring out how to do things, never ceases to amaze me!
Wow...Christine! It's been a long time. Nice to see you again. My most favourite artist.
What a blessed day. Christine has graced us with another beautiful video.
I’m so glad you changed the blue wall. That tone was fighting the original art frieze. Looks great now.
LOVE how the room now highlights the bird art!
Absolutely Gorgeous/Beautiful, the previous owners would be PROUD 🤩🖤
As a designer all I can say is WOW!
You do beautiful work and It's nice to see you respected the original architecture of your home!
Love it! 😊
Omg! We missed you so much. We need you!!!
As a now retired journeyman stone/marble mason, there's NOTHING more pleasurable then watching a true 'mechanic' do their work - mechanic denotes the highest skill level! And MERCY Ms. Christine McConnell...your 'skills' working with plaster rivals some of the 'master' European plaster craftworkers I worked around! Cheers...
Oh - wow! I love old American architecture! I'm from Australia and most if not all our modern homes are boring and ugly. Bricks, concrete, aluminum windows, grey corrugated iron rooves. In most cases no back yards, or front yards or spaces on either side. They look like modern gaols. Suburban sprawl that are completely devoid of any redeeming features.
How delightful to stumble upon your channel and this beautiful old house that you are renovating.
Another Christine McConnell project pure perfection *chef's kiss*
Oh my, how fascinating! I have never seen your channel before, I follow a couple (to be honest, a few!) chateau renovations in France, this is similar but different with more glamour. Wonderful. From Australia 🇦🇺
You doubt yourself???? You do everything!! Anything!!
Christine, you blow me away each time I find a new video. Beauty & brains!
My husband and I watch you together as one of our things we do together. He once remarked that it was too bad that the house didn't have a billiards room because he thought you could do some really awesome things on pool table felt and the overhang light would have been something amazing picked by you.
Aren't those birds called barn swallows? The light fictures today and in a previous episode are stunning - I love antiques.
Just amazing work!!! I hope that one day you’ll do a walk through of the whole house and everything youve worked on ❤
hello Christine, you are an incredible artist, your renovation is a credit to the one who painted these pretty birds. The part where you innocently dust the floor with your cat made me laugh so hard, your animals are adorable. Kind regards from Belgium 💖
So glad to see you again. Fantastic work on the ceiling rose. I there anything you can not do!!!! IRELAND
I’m very happy that she is back I love how Christine build and transform her home to a very beautiful Victorian attractive home

Your creativity, talent, forethought are second to none. You have proven over time that you can do anything you set your mind too, and you are an artist as well.
