Hello FedEx...... in that fleeting moment I had an awful nightmare about becoming...... Hood Ornament >> > don't be that guy ! peace & thanks for the DRz400 Sat FiX !!
Nice! Very stoked to go look at a DRZ400 SM tomorrow! Comes with an extra set of dual-sport wheels, almost all the mods I had planned on doing, and looks like it was all done right! Couple of questions for you: 1. When swapping wheels, is the speedo calibration automatic since it hooks into the front wheel or do I need to adjust when doing that? 2. It has steering damper. Do you think there is a need for it or is that overkill? 3. Any idea what kind of mpg I can expect with the 3X3, re-jet, K&N, and full Yosh exhaust mods? Thanks! Oh, and props for doing "dad" stuff with your kids, even if it did cost you a little riding time! 👍👍👍
@@docsamson2299 1. I think the speedo should work fine if you swap wheels. 2. I don’t have a steering dampener. But it can’t hurt! 3. With a filter, 3x3, jet kit and full exhaust it really depends on how you ride. I can get prob 50MPG. Just doing my thing. Could be more of me less depending on how you use the throttle. Good luck man!
@@linksgarage1985 Talked to the owner for quite awhile before buying it. He said that the gears in the speedo mechanism will read low with a bigger front wheel and that was indeed what I experienced on the ride home. Super stoked to start riding since I just moved from a subdivision to the side of a mountain! Plenty of fire trails and gravel to explore!
@@linksgarage1985 It's mechanical so I'd need to swap out the OEM for the S model. Not a big deal, just need to find a radar sign to find out how "off" I am...
Hey man, can you do a video on the fuel/air mixture screw on the DRZ400? The videos out there for adjustments of these are terrible and I’m having issues with mine. A video on this would be greatly appreciated. Thank you!
Folks, new owner of a 2007 drz sm. So can I take it that I just keep up with the engine oil changes and oil filter changes for the most part and be pretty much fine engine wise? Meaning I'll only need to inspect and do more when I sense or hear anything out of the ordinary? Or do I just refer to the manual and follow it religiously like a valve clearance at a specific mileage stated in the manual? Just trying to gauge between what the book says and real life application. Since I heard it's reliable so I'm guessing just the engine oil and oil filter changes would mainly suffice. By the I live near the equator in Asia so it's summer and humid all year round. So planning to have the oil changed every 2000km due to the heat here. Overkill? Let me know. Thanks in advance!
@@AJ17119 congrats on the new bike! You’ll find lots of info on this channel that may help. The manual is a good recommendation. But mainly, oil, filters, clean air filters, tire pressures, and chain lubing will go a very long way. DRZs are pretty tough. There no such thing as 2 many oil changes. Some would say it’s over kill. I say, oil is the cheapest mechanic. Check the valves when it recommends, oil, filters, and lube. And it’ll live a long happy life. Appreciate you watching!
Hey Bro. Love your content, especially the lighting and camera angles. I’m looking for the OEM needle for the Mikuni 36mm Carb. They seem to be back ordered. Would you be open to selling yours, since you’ve upgraded to an fcr? Lmk, thanks!
@@linksgarage1985 that’s actually a different taper from the one that came on our bikes. Suzuki & Mikuni swiched the stock jetting on the 2019s and up. They went drom 142.5 main to 140 main.
