Dad has a beautiful voice. I thoroughly enjoyed listening to him singing this song. Cherish every moment of singing with your dad. My Grandfather has vascular dementia & some of my fondest memories are of getting the old records on & singing with him. God bless you both.
You made me cry. My dad died last year aged 94. We had a great relationship and I love how you and your dad are connected. We don't have them forever. Bless you both.
This is like car karaoke. Love it. I can see where the son gets his good looks from! Bless you for caring and looking after your dad. Isn't music great?
I watched this Story on GMB (Good Morning Britain) then I found this Video. A very moving Story, about how this Man's Son, is doing this with His Dad, to help His Dementia, and also to have some good memories of Him, after He passes. I was in tears *:o(* Whoever has Thumbed down this Vid, must have a Heart of stone!
cutepie330 does msp No. He's still alive atm. His Son is doing this with Him, as it seems to help His memory a bit. Which is obviously a good thing. Sadly though, eventually it will worsen though, and people with Alzheimer's usually do pass over from it. I'm not sure why, but I think it's because the Brain controls everything in your Body, like breathing etc, so as it dies off, then I guess things in the Body start to stop working eventually *:o(* However, it will also leave behind some happy memories of the Dad, for the Family, after He does pass over.
cutepie330 does msp Ok. I don't understand why you thought I had said He had passed over though *O_O* Anyway, I'm just glad He's enjoying Himself singing with His Son *:o)*
Totally agree with you! I just don't get that people have given this superb display of love, admiration and respect both men have for each other. the thumbs down. Heartless...
I listen to this video several times a day. I love your dad's singing, Simon. and I love the way YOU love your dad. It shows in your eyes and smile every time you look at him.
Dear Mr.Mac I saw you and your son on Japanese TV program. I was so touched about the relationship between you and your family, especially your son. Every morning I listen to your song and make me happy and encourage myself. Thank you!! Lots of love from Japan, Kumiko & Megumi
My first RUclips comment post ever! Perhaps it is because it the only one that has warranted it. Goosebumps, misty-eyes and a very loud singalong that I dearly hope annoyed my neighbors!! I'm 42, my daughter is 19, and this is what we do whenever the occasion calls for it, or doesn't. I hope she reads this post (not likely) because no matter what, the music brings us together and I hope this continues until my twilight years!!! We recently visited my 94 y/o Nana, and all it took was a word or slight phrase and we all broke out in a song from The Sound of Music. It transported us all, she included to another time and place, and was the best medicine imaginable. My cheeks hurt from smiling. :) Thank you so much for sharing.
Was feeling a bit down, missing my girl who passed away. Needed something to bring a smile to my face. Played this video again, found my smile. God Bless you both.
My dearest mother very sadly passed away last year following a 12 year battle with dementia. Even on the worst of days she loved to sing & was word perfect when singing along to her favourites, Jim Reeves & Roy Orbison. Doctors are baffled as to why a patient can recall song lyrics or name an entire football team from the past yet fail to recognise a loved one. Keep singing Ted & very best wishes to you & your family.
+711honved i hear you.I lost both my parents to Alzheimers and yet even though at times they had no idea who i was if you put on a cd of their favourite songs they knew every lyric as they sang along...
711honved When we visit someone at a nursing home, my husband will usually sit down at their piano and play hymns or old standards. The residents gather in and sing along and look so happy.
Love, love, love this.......each time I come back, love it more than time before. Your dad is so talented; however, it is both of you singing together, the love of a son and father for each other.....his illness and how much joy you send out to the rest of us. Thank you.
Donna Bermano Thank you for the info. Until two days ago, I had never heard the name Quando, much less the song. What does it mean? Where did it originate? Father and Son Duo- Fabulous!!
I am going to watch this every time I need cheering up!! I have never been so happy to see two strangers singing their hearts out. Just perfect!! Well done guys!! Keep spreading happiness everywhere!!! Sending love to you both and to everybody listening to you sing!! Love and happiness makes the world go round!! This is just so beautiful to watch! ❤ well done!!!
My dad suffered with dementia I know how hard it is to live with a loved one living with this, this video makes me think back to the good times. I miss him so much, I feel I did everything I could to care for him but he sadly passed 6 years ago now but watch ling this makes me think to the better times we had together, thanks for posting

I think his anger was directed at The Telegraph wanting to use the video for free, then make money out of the subsequent views and advertising revenue on their site.
I didn't know the story, I just like Englebert Humperdink and ended up here. I loved this it made me smile alot. Then I discovered the story. I dunno what to say really, but I think you both have an amazing relationship with each other and I wish you both the very best.
Used to sing with my mom after she had lost her ability to talk due to Parkinson's. But she could sing! She was a trained vocalist with perfect pitch...could sing notes she'd never sung. She trained me and told me I was singing before I was talking. Anyway, I have a video of her and me singing, "Chicago," just a few months before she died. It was a joy to sing with her, so I understand the joy this young man is having with his father.
how often do you see a 40something straight guy with such muscular physique and with stylish hairstyle?????? straight guy look starts to go down after 35.
I absolutely love this. My dad died 6 years ago with Alzheimer's disease. Music was one of the few joys he had. Thank you for bringing awareness and raising money for research. Your dad is brilliant. He has raised a fine son.

I totally believe that about songs! I forget so much, I really do, names, and such, due to multiple surgeries and just my age I suppose, I'm in my 60's , however, if I'm driving and I got the radio on, and a song comes on that I haven't heard in 40 yrs, or MORE, I sing it word for word,,,,,, AMAZING!!!!

my dad, who has dementia, and I are about the same ages as your dad and you. next time we are having a dark day I will play this and remember I am not alone in the struggle against these awful diseases! thank you both.
This song has filled many lonely nights as a caregiver......sleepless nights....many questions, fewer answers......I fell in love with your dad with so much admiration and respect for a life he once lived.....each one of us contunes to change daily.......so, my thought is that he is no different from others....he continues to fill my thoughts, my dreams and brings so much joy of a different time in life.....thank you!!!!! I've already commented on this song so many times, Simon, but this may just be my favorite one of you and your Dad. Teddy just really belted it out in here and one cannot help but feel a sense of joy and peace when watching this particular video. Love to you and your family always.💜💜💜💜💜
I so love watching...brings hope to families who are going through the same as your family. Ted is an amazing singer and it does not matter what age he has got it at as you will all have this memory forever. My mom lost her battle with dementia 3 years ago. But the one thing that always brought her back was music. I would play salsa on my cell phone and she and I would dance in her room. She still had the rhythm. I miss you mom. Hold that dance card open for me. Til we meet again. I love you so much.
Dad has a beautiful voice. I thoroughly enjoyed listening to him singing this song. Cherish every moment of singing with your dad. My Grandfather has vascular dementia & some of my fondest memories are of getting the old records on & singing with him. God bless you both.

@@brandyf1932 Quando is the Spanish word for "when," somewhat translated in the lyrics as "Tell me, when will you be mine?" ;)
This is the best version of Quando on RUclips!
Well done. It is lovely seeing you both enjoy the music :-)

My mom lost her battle with dementia 3 years ago. But the one thing that always brought her back was music. I would play salsa on my cell phone and she and I would dance in her room. She still had the rhythm. I miss you mom. Hold that dance card open for me. Til we meet again. I love you so much.
Much love x
Brilliant and moving partnership singing! Love it.
