Exactly, every review I've watched claims the combat didn't change but it did. The melee didn't feel nearly as crisp and satisfying as the original. I knew I wasn't imagining that. Thanks

I loved the first game, this one let me down. Everyone says the combat was the same but it wasn't. It was like she didn't respond to the melee input correctly each time you fought. It was frustrating to say the least. Awesome graphics, a lot of walking around, mediocre combat compared to the original.
