Honestly, if I was standing outside those two garage doors, I’d have been more excited to see that Caterham. I’m definitely of the Colin Chapman perspective. Lots of horsepower at the cost of lots of weight doesn’t appeal.
That said, if you have a spare Lambo spider, I’ll take it off your hands...

A Caterham is a real drivers car, no electronics, driver assists or things like that. And one of the best handling cars allround.

Robert as an ex motorcyclist you would love the Caterham. I am 65 with health issues and still love my Westfield. Go out and get one and enjoy the adrenaline rush. Go on you know you want to.
Sorry to hear. I'm 64 and I have been riding a 1984 Yamaha FJ1100 that does more than I wish to use from a motorcycle. A track day showed me that. Surgery to my heart and other serious arterial operations I ran into late in life but I'm glad I can still get out on the bike. It's my sanity saver. I like the old school feel sensation of warming up 4 carbs and hearing the rush of them sucking through open air pods when I roll on.
Caterham for me all day. Maybe the Hurracan after sundown for a dinner date.

The Cat offers so much fun for no money! Every km you will drive the Lambo as a race car will cost you so much (breaks, clutch, tyres....) that it will stop your happiness. I never felt good with #100keur sport cars, but I love fight against my R300.

I have to say, I find the Caterham much prettier than the Huracan. The Seven is the embodiment of what a driver sportscar is, and even looks : full of compromise and raw energy :)

Haha superb video lads. I have a dreary BMW 520D company car but when the weekend’s come along I’m out in the Caterham 7 or on my R1.
Sold the ex wife and my old Lotus Elise 111R and got the Caterham. Worth it in every way for weekend hooliganism on the twisty stuff.
Ex wife cost me a fortune anyway so wasn’t sad to see that model go.

Great video, loved the introduction. Such different cars to compare, though. The Hurracan is all about the show and being seen, the Caterham about the driving experience. Driving experience wins for me every time. More fun for £30K in my book!

At no time in the video is there any mention of how the lambo handles, only how the v10 sounds and how nice the heated seats are. At every moment in the caterham, it’s about how the driving experience is great.

It's not just about the cost of the vehicle, but also the running costs. Imagine the comparison on insurance and maintenance!
Not an issue if you're a millionaire I guess, but the Caterham would certainly win that battle.

Driving a Caterham in the country will result in horse or cow manure being flung on the rear wing on the side opposite from the exhaust side. Whenever you drive over cattle grids the chances of inquisitive cows paying you a visit and hanging their head over you are existent. Also both driver and passenger better be prepared to wave back at all the people that stick their thumbs up as a sign of approval. People sometimes want to have a chat with you while you're waiting at the red traffic light. The non-driving related experience is also part of the enjoyment.
And of course Caterhams go really well.
I have never driven a Lamborghini but I'm sure they're a ton of fun to drive as well.
Caterham all the way! Yeah the lambo is nice, its a lambo after all. But, i prefer a true drivers car which i wont be afraid of crashing or scratching when in those kinda situations. And the caterham is definatly more fun and engaging than the lambo, or almost all cars for that matter.
Lovely! But a bit mean of them to not give you the SV "widebody" chassis. At least they left the doors (and elbow rests) on this time!
There was a widebody available for us to film with, but it was a 270S. We thought we would go with the more powerful option!
Caterham all the way, a 420r Sv with comfy seats 😍
There’s a lot of cool options on these. My spec would be a 620S SV 5 speed in snakeskin green with outdoor cloth seats and retro 5 spoke wheels. I would drive it every day. Life is too short to drive a boring car.
A Morgan 3 wheeler would turn more heads at a stop light
I would buy a catherham over a lambo even if i had the money for the lambo

I currently own my fun enthusiast/tinkering/fun car that teaches me driving and driving dynamics....so it’s the lambo for me. Specifically this huracan because it’s tiny compared to the aventador and i live in a place with thin roads :D
The caterhm needs at least 200hp to become really quick. 1.8l 130hp is a smaller than a family car engine.
Either a hayabusa or a s2000 engine would turn it into a beast. An aero kit would further inprove cornering and braking. The sequential gb is still nice to shift, still mechanical.

It's almost certainly the case that a minor-moderate repair bill on the Lamborghini could exceed the purchase price of the Caterham. LOL! I also suspect that the Caterham will be on the road in 30+ years. Can we say the same for the Huracan? At what point will its repair bills exceed the depreciated value of the car such that someone will just junk it?

A caterham 620r will be better than a lambo. and its only 50,000. Plus it’s a proper drivers car instead of an idiot with a lambo sat in his comfy seats. And all this stupid cruise control and a radio and heated seats. I’d rather have a car where all of that is deleted. Like an Ariel or a lotus or a caterham.

I'd take the caterham any day of the week. Not because it's cheaper, take money out of it. Lambo just screams "I'm a knob" whereas caterham, for me at least, says that you kinda know what you're doing...

C'est, à mon sens , la voiture de sport la plus pure. Voiture de puriste, comme une Lotus.
