Beautiful Italien women, saving kittens and made our food of his outside fridge in the truck. We listened to Pink all the way up and down. His biggest dream was to show me this concert. Beside my Mom, Pink was his greatest love! He never could afford it. So we bought it on DVD and wore that CD OUT! So thank you for posting this. You just made me travel with my Father from the humble city of Randers, Denmark, seem like it was yesterday. All the way to Italy and back! THANK YOU!!!!!!!!!! THANK YOU!!!!!!

And now I'm sitting here listening to this song with my 6-year-old son. Thank you for your immortal music.

I was glad to hear Rick’s keyboard playing balanced pretty well against David’s guitar and Nick’s drums, though I always wish they would push his levels up a tad more (there’s so much else going on on stage!). At least towards the end of this song the balance seemed to highlight the three Floyd members. I always love hearing Rick and David really play together.

I was there for 3 nights straight in November 1994. The first time I'd travelled internationally was for this pilgrimage. I cried myself to sleep in a dorm room in the Carl's Court youth hostel. I was incapable of being coherent for days after. 30 years have got behind me, and I'm terrified that I forgot to run. I've cried enough for you and I.
I was at a show on this tour. Outdoors. The lasers looked to go for miles. I really cannot describe it, in person to a teen it was just otherworldly. I still to this day have never witnessed anything remotely close. That giant ball thing was just unreal.

Never listened to it and everytime i heard the name it would make me think of him. I'm 39 now and last 4 weeks have been an eye opener, this has to be the most wholesome, healing music i ever heard in my life. I just regret i never truly "listened" to it until now. I met David Gilmour in 1984 back stage at a concert in Hollywood Calif. He gave me a signed album that I have in my music room. We talked for 22 minutes. I called him…“The Master Of The Stratocaster” He smiled. I asked if I could shake both his hands that make such great guitar solos, he smiled bigger and said “Sure” and shook both hands at the same time, making a cross between us, I smiled HUGE. I asked him to describe his technique of playing guitar, he replied… “I strike a note, bend it, shake it and then release it”…. Yes, he does that quite well, better than any other guitarist I know. All of us fortunate enough to have seen this show live were in a TRANCE.... MESMERIZED the entire show... as you can imagine. We walked out saying.... What did we just witness? That was out of this world incredible.
This is by far the best concert ever !!! The best guitar solo ever !! Pink Floyd is from outside this universe ! it is unbelievable how they can compose, arrange, sing and play in such a way....
It is the most sublime music , singing and guitar playing you will ever hear. David is not just a genius , his playing is from a different world - he takes me to a place that I would imagine to be the impossible , yet it is real and transformative. Will never see a guitarist like him ever again -
My uncle introduced my to Pink Floyd's music when I was about 15 years old. Id started to learn to play guitar a few years beforehand having lessons at school (had been having private piano lessons since i was around 7 or 8, and by that point was at grade 4 ABRSM exam level so was getting on with it quite well). Was going out fishing early one Saturday morning so i stayed at theirs the night before. We sat up the two of us once my aunt went to bed, and he put on the DVD of this very concert and we cracked open a beer. Said to me "once you can play a guitar like Dave Gilmour mate, youve done it". From that point on, i sat and watched the dvd in awe and amazement. He was at Earl's Court when this was recorded and said the atmosphere was unbelievable. I had an idol to admire as far as my guitar playing was concerned.
I can't thank my parents enough for making me grow up with Pink Floyd and taking me to one of PULSE tour concerts in Udine, Italy! I was 17 then and old enough to have vivid memory in my brain for a lifetime. We screamed like crazy at the end of the concert cause we were overwhelmed with adrenaline and happiness of what we have just witnessed! I knew then this was the best tour ever and it's not going to be topped and that certainly was the true! Thank you Pink Floyd for making our lives richer, from Croatia with love!
The best guitar solo ever played from one of the best songs ever made by one of the greatest guitarist of all time played in the best Rock band of all time during the best music concert ever done, even after 30 years... David played with his heart and soul....THIS IS SIMPLY A LEGEND
@6:38 Dave Gilmour knowing that the entire arena is focused in on him, the pressure to not break a string must have been immense, then cuts across to Nick Mason simply "Having It" on the drums, smashing it out!! This has been one of my favourite songs since was a teenager, and this must be the best performance of it they ever did
David Gilmor...you're a great guitarist. Precise chords and an incomparable delicacy for the ears... God bless you forever. I thank you for existing in this time and living to hear you play... that ending was incredible...
Believe me being an absolute music fan, spanning decades of music. But in my humble opinion, this guitar solo is epic! The best my ears have ever heard, indeed! Absolutely majestic.
Yes, it is epic! No selfishly proving/demonstration/show of technical qualities. Just a pure flow of emotions. No second of the entire 5 minutes of the solo is wasted. Definitely one of the best (rock guitar) solos out there. Hendrix, Vaughan, Moore etc. have equally great solos but I don't know... this one always catches me me like nothing else!
Pink Floyd - Comfortably Numb, Dire Straits - Tunnel of love, Gary Moore - Empty rooms, Led Zeppelin - Stairway to heaven. Best live performances a music lover can ask for.
Pink Floyd are the God's of music. There are numerous great bands/ music groups we can comment on their greatness musically, etc. NOW, Pink Floyd- the music unmistakably #1, can you say perfection. Most of their songs just carry you on to a higher pleasureable feeling as the music carries you further and higher-incomparable. Then the light show--CAN YOU SAY WOW!YES A GREAT BIG WOW!!!!! Then there is the whole band complimenting each other- then come the most uplifting guitar solos, that in my opinion override many other absolutely fantastic guitar solos. What can I say other then"abosolute music genius"
The BEST Comfortably Numb I EVER heard! NEVER thought it could sound better! 💓👏David's Guitar solo is the Greatest 🇬🇧🎸💓🌟 Love You DAVID GILMOUR LOVE YOU HDPink Floyd❣️
Emotionally, I think the LIVE 8 reunion performance had a bigger impact, knowing that that was the last time the four of them would perform this song. But also seeing David Gilmour appear for this song on one of Roger Waters' performances of THE WALL was quite memorable too! Bravo!
Look in RUclips under Roger Waters-David Gilmour Comfortably Numb 02 Live 2011. Gilmour appeared for this song (+ the finale) during Waters' performance of THE WALL, and freaked out the crowd.
The one that gets me the most is the one from Brazil. The shear love and respect from the crowd of young kids just gets me. None of them were even born when this came out, it is not their native language, and they sing it like they own it.
A minha alma ouve Pink Floyd. Pink Floydiano
Just a thought....just maybe, the Angels, paused a moment to hear, one man doing his very best to show his appreciation to all those that reside in the heavenlies, just beyond the horizon...spectacular musicianship...almost indescribable
This video, any video, cannot do that ball any justice. I get goose bumps just remembering the effect it made in the auditorium I was at. Fantastic concert. Fantastic band.
Every time I watch this, I want to cry for TWO reasons. One, because it's so damn beautiful, especially when that mirror ball lights up! Two, because I missed out on seeing this tour! Would've loved seeing those reflective lights off the roof of the Pontiac Silverdome! I would've been 19 at the time, when I was still a ball of energy at a concert! THIS show would've been the only concert that could've ever beaten a Rush show in my world, but having never been there in person, I can't officially say that.
Simply stunning. I remember that tour so well. Absolutely amazing that 25 years have flown by since then... I would take 10 notes from David Gilmour than 100 from almost anyone else. He squeezes every ounce of musical goodness out of a single note like you would squeeze every drop of juice out of a ripe piece of fruit. There is so much going on in this video sonically and visually that the human mind can barely absorb it all. I did my best and I'm a better person for it... There are times when ONLY Pink Floyd will do. This, was one of those times...

It was incredible. That moment when the spots hit the glitter ball, everybody was just tripping. Awesome night.
One of my very favorite versions of this song and I’ve heard just about all of them. The light shows alone are worth the price of admission.😊👍
I had once believed that David Gilmour's solo at Pompeii was the best ever but I have determined that the solo from Pulse is the best I have found.
The greatest piece of music I have ever heard in my 52 years Of life
Musica splendida e unica, senza tempo ❤
I'm positive his music is what heaven sounds like. There's no one else.
One of the best songs I've ever heard it's a masterpiece
I'll leave this comment just in case to let my son see what his father was listening to♥
I drove from Devon and back in the same day just to be there. Walked out of the gig stoned and I don’t do dope. What a night!
The greatest solo guitar piece ever played! No one will match David Gilmore masterpiece!. A legend has been created!
Same, drove down from Liverpool and got stoned without much passing my lips
When David sings or solos, I smile! Just beautiful
The best guitar solo ever played from one of the best songs ever made by one of the greatest guitarist of all time played in the best Rock band of all time during the best music concert ever done, even after 30 years... David played with his heart and soul....THIS IS SIMPLY A LEGEND
Saw this at the L.A. Colosseum 1989....the greatest show I ever witnessed ! R.I.P. Richard.
@6:38 Dave Gilmour knowing that the entire arena is focused in on him, the pressure to not break a string must have been immense, then cuts across to Nick Mason simply "Having It" on the drums, smashing it out!!
This has been one of my favourite songs since was a teenager, and this must be the best performance of it they ever did
Absolutely brilliant, magical music with amazing lyrics with an unforgettable lead guitar solo,
David Gilmor...you're a great guitarist. Precise chords and an incomparable delicacy for the ears... God bless you forever. I thank you for existing in this time and living to hear you play... that ending was incredible...
the best guitar solo ever
Everyone talking bout the Guitar solo, but for me his VOICE ist pure heaven
True
It's all heaven!
An absolute god given guitar solo makes me cry listening to it its so good
Its an outerbody experience listening too this epic tune.
One of the best solo guitarist in the World. This song is amazing
Pink Floyd - Comfortably Numb, Dire Straits - Tunnel of love, Gary Moore - Empty rooms, Led Zeppelin - Stairway to heaven. Best live performances a music lover can ask for.
Dire straits - sultan of swings
Gary Moore the Messiah will come again sublime
Dont forget Romeo and Juliet Dire Straits
Dave's solo with the lightning rig doing all sorts variations of lights. Man just absolutely phenomenal.
These guys were huge back in the 70's, I might've tripped listening to Floyd, 😁
I can’t pass any day without listening to this song
The BEST Comfortably Numb I EVER heard! NEVER thought it could sound better! 💓👏David's Guitar solo is the Greatest 🇬🇧🎸💓🌟
Love You DAVID GILMOUR
LOVE YOU HDPink Floyd❣️
Yes ...it pierces my soul that feels dead almost always.
I have heard every version of this song and solo multiple times in my long life but surprisingly this one made me tear up. :)
Emotionally, I think the LIVE 8 reunion performance had a bigger impact, knowing that that was the last time the four of them would perform this song. But also seeing David Gilmour appear for this song on one of Roger Waters' performances of THE WALL was quite memorable too! Bravo!
@@davidyoung5114 when was that presentation of the wall with roger and david? Is there a video?
Look in RUclips under Roger Waters-David Gilmour Comfortably Numb 02 Live 2011. Gilmour appeared for this song (+ the finale) during Waters' performance of THE WALL, and freaked out the crowd.
The one that gets me the most is the one from Brazil. The shear love and respect from the crowd of young kids just gets me. None of them were even born when this came out, it is not their native language, and they sing it like they own it.
I can listen to Gilmour playing this brilliant guitar solo ten times a day - a one in a lifetime, its magical !!!!!
This really is the best guitar solo of David's career.
Why being shy and not telling this is THE GREATEST SOLO OF ALL TIMES?!
,... Well, dude, because it isn't 😢!!! BERNIE GERMANY 😊
