I'm glad Dave Mustaine was kicked out of Metallica. He created one of the greatest thrash metal bands ever. To this day Metallica still plays Mustaine's music, and 70% of their fans don't even know about Mustaine. Had it not been for him they'd still be in their garage trying to get Lars to play a beat.

Dave Mustang’s bitter leaving actually made for a killer band. Without this moment, we would’ve never gotten Symphony of Destruction, Hangar 18, and Peace Sells. Imagine a world without Megadeth.
Simon Thokaar I used to think the same thing dude, but discovered a lot of the musicians actually did have talent, but they chose to keep it simpler in response to the over saturation of progressive bands like Genesis and crappy bands like the eagles. The Dead Kennedys are a great example I would say
I'd definitely say he's the winner..He won't be remembered as well as Kurt Cobain, he has an interesting life and came out alive. Not many people can say they were in Nirvana, Soundgarden AND Special Forces..people probably think he's a bullshitter at the bars.
Not kicked out, but left my choice. Tim Staffel (Smile) left, Farrokh Bulsara joins then becomes Freddie Mercury and Smile becomes Queen. They had other bass guitarists... Mike Gross left because he said Queen were too theatrical, Barry Mitchell left due to homophobia and erratic behaviour and then there was Doug Bogie. And then there was John Deacon...
@@joeyportia6476 James Hetfield kicked Mustaines dog, and Lars Ulrich trashed a womens prized collection of family photos. If you're under the impression Metallica were all angels and Mustaine was evil you're sadly mistaken. And I can tell you from personal experience Mustaine is a great dude.
@@TheSonic1685 I never said Lars and James were angels. But Mustaine was the most unstable one at the time. He’s matured now, but even he admits that he was out of control during the early 1980s. Everything I said matches Dave, James, and Lars’s version of events, except for the dog story. How come it took Dave 30 years to come up with it? I’m not buying it.
Mustaine made out really well. He was in 2 of the biggest metal bands of all time and while Megadeth was no where near Metallica's popularity he ended up being the center of attention in a smaller band instead of sharing the attention in a much larger one.
Clifton Photographer That is actually a cover of a UK rock n roll band by the name of the Anti-Nowhere League. In fact most every damn thing on Garage Inc. is cover songs. Not counting a couple of old demos. Try to know your shit
Other notable musicians: 1. Pete Willis and Def Leppard - Kicked out of the band for drinking issues in 1982 and replaced by Phil Collen. 2. Dennis Stratton and Iron Maiden - Left the band after the first album due to musical differences and was replaced by Adrian Smith. 3. Clive Burr and Iron Maiden - Left the band after their 1982 tour and was replaced by Nicko McBrain. 4. Matt Smith and Poison - Left the band for family reasons and was replaced by C. C. DeVille. 5. Matt Fallon and Skid Row - Fired in favor of Sebastian Bach. 6. Dave Evans and AC/DC - Fired in favor of Bon Scott. 7. Mark Evans and AC/DC - Kicked out of the band due to musical differences and replaced by Cliff Williams. 8. The Original Journey Lineup - Their first three albums flopped before Steve Perry entered the scene.
Maiden was starting to get big during The Number of the Beast, as they were still supporting acts for larger bands such as Judas Priest and Scorpions during that tour. It's been heavily debated that Burr quit or was fired after the 1982 tour, but Maiden's success hit the sweet spot after Nicko took over as drummer.
The most dramatic example is a guy named John Sykes: right after co-writing and created the sound for Whitesnake's biggest album, he was fired and replaced by two guitarists who appeared in all the videos playing his parts.
I wouldn't say Paul Di'Anno got kicked out of Iron Maiden before they got big; he was on TV appearances on Top of the Pops (the first live rock performance since '72, too) and their debut was #4 on the UK album charts (and Killers hit #12). They were already big when he got the boot (they just got bigger).
DiAnno went before they got real exposure in the US. 'Killers' was a modest success but 'NotB' got a lot more exposure. In part this was due to Capital restructuring Harvest, the US label, and pushing Maiden as metal where as 'Killers' was mostly found in the Prog section.
They were already huge in Europe and Japan with Di'anno. Just because they hadn't broken into the US doesn't mean they weren't big. They were already mainstream at home and continental Europe. That's like saying Aria isn't big even though they're the #1 rock band in Russia or Die Toten Hosen aren't big because they're *only* huge in Germany.
Yes they were big here in the UK, but Grudge is American. Although really it was 'Number of the Beast' that propelled them to real mainstream success. Even knocking Barbora Stiesland from the number one slot on the album chart.
I played drums with Alannah Myles for 2 years, (1986-1988), but she, Dave Tyson and/or Chris Ward hired Jorn Anderson to play on her first lp, which was released in 1989. Jorn had a better track record than I did, which I suppose was the reason. But I played all of those songs for two years, and I believe that I had a lot to do with those grooves. For instance, when she first played "Lover of Mine", (at a club call TGIF, in Toronto, in 1988), I could hear a big time ending for the last chorus, so I played it loud and heavy. Alannah left the stage, and later asked me, "How could you play so loud in a beautiful soft ballad like this?" I said, "I thought the ending needed it." And sure enough, when you hear the final version, it rocks out....just the way I played it. The other obvious one is "Just One Kiss". I suggested and played the 'shots' for every word of "Just One Kiss", which makes the hook. Rick Skol
I liked his story!so anti establishment that he walked on a little personal show for a town since it was the mayor who showed up and announced him ready to play!He put the guitar down and walked off!
Its was the opposite for him. They so desperately wanted to keep him because he gave them their best lyrics and direction, not to mention he was their front man. When he suffered brain damage from drug use so much he couldn't play anymore they kept him as a manager for a couple of albums until it was hopeless.

Yeah but John Rutsey wasn't kicked out of Rush. His manager thought it to be wise to not do extensive touring with his diabetes problem. And the fact he was more of a classic rock drummer than a progressive one. There was no ill wills or hard feelings between him and the members of Rush.
Dave Sabo (original Bon Jovi guitarist): replaced by Richie Sambora shortly before they recorded their first album. (Sabo became famous later on in Skid Row)
I love neil so much and rush too. They pretty much shaped my playing . But it is interesting how things happen. You can almost hear Neils passive aggressive approach on destroying working man live. Its strange .
The problem with Di'anno was he just wasn't a good fit of the band, and he was drug addict that couldn't be counted on and he didn't have the vocal range Bruce has. Iron Maiden going with Bruce Dickinson made Iron Maiden - Iron Maiden.
Matt Fallon was in Skid Row in 1986 before he was kicked out, he was later replaced by Sebastian Bach in 1987. After that, Matt joined Anthrax and allegedly wrote lyrics to 'Spreading the Disease' but was left uncredited. Both bands would later make it big without Matt. He also formed his own band called Fallon, the name was chosen because it was recognized due to his previous bands. They recorded some songs to a self titled album in 1991 that went unreleased as they disbanded shortly after. The album was later released in 2015.
I met some dude named Dan in Chicago last year. Apparently he was the original guitarist for one of my favorite bands, Rise Against. He left the band and then they hit the top of the charts a few years later. Really cool and down-to-earth dude.
Terry Glaze, the original frontman of Pantera. He was replaced by Phil Anselmo in 1988, and Pantera broke through in 1990. Dave Sabo, the original guitarist for Bon Jovi. He left within a year, and was replaced by Richie Sambora shortly before recording their first album. (Sabo co-founded the band Skid Row in 1986).
I have my own story about this. I was in a band in the early 90s called "Fuzz Bucket". We did OK, but never really got huge or anything. Our drummer however was in a second band "Effigy" who where kind of a Pixies/Goth thing (Fuzz bucket where a kind of metal/turbo-punk thing), and eventually left fuzz-bucket which ended our band. Anyway I was kind of dismissive of Effigy but they did do pretty great shows. Anyway there was a bit of stress in the band, and at one point I was asked if I wanted to join to replace their bassist. I turned it down, partly because I was friends with the bassist and didn't want to cross her, and secondly i didnt think Effigy had a future. Boy was I wrong about that. They went on to have a series of top ten australian hits, world tours and filmclips and all. Last time I saw them before they finally broke up, there was somewhere north of 1000 screaming girls in the room, and they where like gods. I shoulda taken the gig lol
One of the saddest ones ever was "Glenn Cornick" original bass player for Jethro Tull" what happened to him is worst then Pete Best- Jethro tull made their 3rd album "Benefit" and was on a Amerian tour for 4 months- it went very good they opened up for Led Zep and did their own gigs , everything was going great they were about to go home and record Aqulung - but on the last day in America the band was to meet at JFK airport to go home, when glenn got their the manager meet him there told him he is out of the band and gave him a one way ticket back home to England- Yup just like that- and why? Only because Ian Anderson wanted his childhood friend Jeffery Hammon to be in the band thats it- Glenn Cornick did nothing wrong The band did not have the guts to tell him face to face they made the manager do it and Glenn Went from nothing to having it all and thinking he was good friends with everyone to having to go home tell his family and friends he is out of the band when just 9 days before that he wrote his mother and brother telling them how great the tour went. WOW
One story I heard about Glen Matlock, which may or may not be true, is that the band was getting increasingly tired of him because he didn't "fit in". But the straw that broke the camel's back was when it came out that Matlock was a closet Beatles fan... It's too bad they traded him for Sid; Matlock could really play, but Sid was complete poser on bass. Legend says the Sex Pistols couldn't play their instruments, which is bullshit; the evidence is on their album, which is very well-played and features Matlock. *Sid* couldn't play, and the public assumed the rest of the band was like Sid.
Should of had Matt Stone from Van Halen’s early backyard party and club days before being kicked out from choosing other things than the band, then they later asked Michael Anthony to Join
M. M., no... You're the turd here. Why would you have Pete Best on the drums when he sucks at playing them? If it wasn't for Lennon and McCartney your favorite band wouldn't even exist.
Best was (ironically, according his name) a bad drummer (did not even keep the time). He was taken in because they did not have drummer 1960 and no time to search for too and he had time, enough money and his mother was a manager of Beatles for some time. But he was sacked when they were able to hire Ringo Starr, the best drummer in Mersey Side.
Best WAS considered more popular with the girls. Best was NOT a lousy drummer, he was excellent and admired. For decades, it was always admitted that it was envy. If Best wasn't talented, he wouldn't have been a Beatle in the first place.....💁
Mark Stone and Van Halen anyone? He was the original bassist during their club days before he was asked to leave because the VH brothers felt like he had prioritized other things above the band. He was then replaced by Michael Anthony and the rest is history. Great list, otherwise.
It's a shame Noel was such a dick head in those days, his ego ended up destroying the band ultimately.First Tony, then Guigs and Bonehead walked away shortly after. Those guys are one of the defining features of Oasis.A group of lads from nothing that reached the top through sheer determination.Noel's head got inflated from the success and his ego to be bigger than the beatles is where things got fucked up.
Finally someone said it. Also, I read that before Liam, there was another lead singer of the band when it was still called The Rain. He was subtly kicked out by the group when Liam started hanging out more and more with the band.
Not really. He was kicked out but by that time the band was over. Terry Chimes replaced him for the 1982 US Tour. But Headon played on all the albums but the first.
I watched an interview where Kurt said he was becoming not satisfied with Chad's drumming and that his style wasn't fitting how their new songs were evolving. And in a later interview Chad reflected that he understood why they let him go. Sounds like essentially he was kicked.
I Always Wondered How Kurt Would've Felt About Seeing Chester Bennington Singing In Bloom Kurt: Cobain It Feels So Awkward Hearing Chester Singing It I Mean I Don't Know How Chester Could Pull That Off With Ease He Already Did Sonic Boom Which Is A 1993 Classic Song Redone By Chester I'll Give Him Props For Doing That Did I Mention That In Some Parts Of Sonic Boom Chester Sounds Too Much Like Johnny Gioeli Of Crush 40
At least Flo tasted the fame of The Supremes' early success. After singing with them on their first album as their fourth member, Barbara Martin left them in 1962 to raise her baby. Two years later, she was listening to "Baby Love" all day on the radio.
I think Pete WIllis deserves to be on this list. Even though I miss that dude and the reasons he was kicked out are lies to the media, he was the reason Def Leppard even existed in the first place.
John Mayhew from Genesis, Rod Evans & Nick Simper from Deep Purple, Dick Taylor from Rolling Stones, Andy Wickett from Duran Duran; Pete Dodd, John Roog, Chris Bell and Matthew Seligman from Thompson Twins; Chad Channing from Nirvana; Kate Schellenbach and John Berry from Beastie Boys.
Matlock made the Pistols. He wrote most of the music and was actually a talented musician. Notice how they never wrote a damn song after he left the band. Sid couldn't play the bass to save his life. He was just a useless junkie.
yeah, i don't think mustaine was kicked out for drinking more, or being violent. i think he was kicked out because james didn't want anyone else writing songs, and Dave mustaine was too good to not right songs. i really think Hetfield can only stand to be around lesser musicians and has to be in charge all the time, otherwise he melts down. just the impression i'm under from a fan perspective.
Don't forget Gidget Gein from Marilyn Manson. He did the bass on "Portrait of an American Family" and got kicked out on the Christmas eve... right before they made it. Gidget was just as responsible for the whole "Spooky Kids" image as Brian (MM) was. Gidget was the one who (arguably) had most of the artist inspiration for the whole thing. He went on to work as a "bag boy" (a guy who picks up dead bodies for the coroner Dept.) in Florida before overdosing on Heroin about 10 years ago. I was lucky enough to meet him right before he passed away. He was a cool, sociable, humble guy (no "rock star" BS whatsoever) and a ridiculously talented multi-medium artist (known for his "Gollywood" art) and but a deeply troubled soul. R.I.P. Gidget.
The young lady who plays the black Les Paul, I'm not sure what to say. I'm crushed that I have spent most of my life trying to do what she did.. I can't get over the technical ease. Huge bends ,it's a perfect demonstration of how to do metal and. She is wonderful !!! I'm going to change genres and styles, I will give old country a go
if he was such a shitty drummer why even hire him in the first place? they wanted to hire him because they were trying to be like 50s teen idols, but when best was the only guy the girls liked they got the ugliest guy on earth, luckily this played into their hands because much like how the 90s were just a bitchy rebellion of the 80s the 60s were a bitchy rebellion of the 50s
he lasted two years mainly because drummers at that time were extremely diffcult to find. The only got pete best because they needed a drummer to go and play the clubs in Hamburg. The guys in Germany wanted a five piece band and they were only a four piece at that stage. Another thing was that best didn't quite fit in with the group in a social context. when they wanted to party and hang out, he apprently wanted to be on his own. The actual real reason for his dismissal may never be know for certain but he was apparently glad that he did miss all the madness and Beatlemania. There's absoilutely no doubt about it though. It was extremely ruthless, cruel and extremely messy at the time.
Loved Paul Di'Anno... he was awesome for those first two albums. He wanted out. Don't blame him... but without Bruce... Iron Maiden would not be as huge as they are today.
Paul Dianno is probably the saddest. Some guy at a show asked him what he thought about Bruce Dickinson. Paul Dianno was about to go into the audience and start pummeling the guy until the guy got scared and apologized.
@Tatsujiro Kurogane Perhaps, but band members do tend to mitigate any unfair behavior they're responsible for to maintain their image (John Lennon excluded). As 'history is written by the winner,' a band's official record is created by the members reigning at its' peak success. I think there could have been some envy in the Pink Floyd story revolving around Waters, with perhaps Syd's 'craziness' exaggerated afterwards by the band for psychological comfort and perhaps even to promote _The Madcap Laughs._
Theres Henry Padovani in the Police , when Andy Summers joined he was fired, a year before their first hit. I think it was regarding musical abilities.
How is Terry Glaze/ Terry Lee not on this list???? maybe because he was not "kicked out" but essentially he was. It also created a complete 360 in terms of musical direction after he left Pantera......Or how about Robert Fleischman he literally co-wrote "Wheel in the Sky" and yet never was the one to sing it.... he was kicked out of the band right before Journey went into orbit in mainstream music
Should have included John Curulewski of Styx. He suddenly quit after the release of the Equinox album. That album became big with songs still included the set list today. While Styx was one of the biggest acts in the world a couple of years later, John Curulewski was performing in a cover band at roller skating rinks.
An in-law of mine played with a garage band but left it when he was drafted during Vietnam. They went on to become one of the top 100 bands, while he went on 2 combat tours.
The Pete Best story makes me think a lot about what is a rare art form before it becomes a commercial formula. It is said that he didn't progress as a drummer but he did drive the band and their audience for a year or two before they became famous. It might be said that he was partially responsible for that fame. Sometimes they had the drumkit out front with John, Paul, and George to the side. They were sometimes billed as "Pete Best & the Beatles." He was very popular with the ladies and they slept on his lawn. Perhaps he was the most popular and driven member. What a great time to be a Beatles fan, just before they became untouchable. I would love to see any band at the point that they are discovering their sound and playing at a small venue. Later on in life he made a million or so off of some early recordings he made with the band that were included on an anthology.
The OP had originally misspelled Bob Seger. Originally it said "Bob Sager". Hence my post, "who is Bob Sager". I was just being a spelling Nazi. I love Seger. Seen him in concert several times.
Cool...My brother drummed for the band that became Loverboy....Doesn't regret leaving though...Said they seemed to be going nowhere at the time....He did get to get up and play at a show they did in the town where he lives now, though.
Opposite story (solo members quit or getting kicked out and making it big solo while their band never does): Innosense. No, not a typo. Innosense was a short-lived late 90s/early 2000s girl pop group which originally had 6 members. One of whom was named Britney Spears. The manager said she was too good for the band and recommended she go solo, so she did. The rest of the group never really went anywhere. Same thing with an R&B group called Choice. One of its members was Alicia Moore, now known as Pink. Manager told her she was too good and should go solo, so she did. Choice was never heard from again.
George Babbitt was a 17 year old drummer for the Ventures who helped with writing and playing the drum for their first hit "Walk Don't Run." But he was too young to play the bars and clubs so sadly he couldn't remain with the group. He later became a 4 star general in the US Air Force. There is a reunion video on RUclips with him many years later....

Chuck Mosley - Faith No More vocalist. Fired shortly before the band made it big and replaced by Mike Patton.
John Kiffmeyer - Green Day drummer. Left to go to college after playing on one album.
Rod Evans - Deep Purple vocalist. Fired after a year and three albums, disappeared from the scene shortly after.
Rob Gardner - Guns N Roses. Replaced by Steven Adler only a few months after the band was formed.
Mark Stone - Van Halen bassist. Replaced by Michael Anthony before recording their first album.
John Rutsey - Rush drummer. Left after one album due to diabetes problems, replaced by Neil Peart.
Dave Evans - AC/DC singer. Fired after a demo and replaced by Bon Scott
Brian Jones - The Rolling Stones rhythm guitarist. Fired in 1969 after numerous moderately successful albums, died only a month after his firing.
Jack Irons - Red Hot Chili Peppers drummer. Replaced by Chad Smith after the second album.
John rutsey was replaced by the greatest drummer of all time enter the warrior Neil Peart
What??? Too moody for Chris Cornell AND Kurt Cobain? Send that guy to Iraq!
Best comment right there.
Yet Cornell and Cobain are the ones who topped themselves.
Maybe they were too moody.
Don't worry, we did : )
Chris was under the influence of pharmacueticals.
Lana Johnson I don't get why you say it like that. He was on drugs just like Cobain. Off topic, I have my doubts either committed suicide
I would be SO bitter.
And so were they.
Michael Lewis but at least megadeth made it big too
Im glad Dave got kicked out of Metallica. That eventually gave us two amazing thrash metal bands instead of one
So would I, and I would reveal intimate secrets about the band in retaliation, and try to destroy them.
I go down, I take them down with me.
its why they invented baseball bats
Destiny child is a band? What instrument do they actually play? 🤦🏻♂️
Jay-Z's and R. Kelly's skin flutes :P
Really a vocal group, like the Supremes.
Haha for real... 90s bands were the shit.... Made all that money with no talent whatsoever.
@@Perririri *...and they can Hum on it, like no other.*

Destiny's Crackbaby
In*Stink
Backdoor-boys
That whole bag of dicktips.
NOT BANDS
Dave Mustang’s bitter leaving actually made for a killer band. Without this moment, we would’ve never gotten Symphony of Destruction, Hangar 18, and Peace Sells. Imagine a world without Megadeth.
The sad part about Glenn leaving the sex pistols is that he was replaced by one of the worst bass players in history
HeadBangerAust he wasn't even a bass player. He had no clue how to play bass.
Pestilence Plauge truth
I have always felt that the utter lack of musical talent is what defined sex pistols and the punk scene in general.
Simon Thokaar I used to think the same thing dude, but discovered a lot of the musicians actually did have talent, but they chose to keep it simpler in response to the over saturation of progressive bands like Genesis and crappy bands like the eagles. The Dead Kennedys are a great example I would say
Glen is back with them now.
Cobain and Cornell found Everman to be "moody". HAHAHAHA!
Or Lemmy getting kicked out of Hawkwind for "doing the wrong drugs."
damn dude thats a fucked comment haha
Funny how they’re both dead, and he’s alive
He did the best, served his country honorably, and still consults for them. He WON.
I'd definitely say he's the winner..He won't be remembered as well as Kurt Cobain, he has an interesting life and came out alive. Not many people can say they were in Nirvana, Soundgarden AND Special Forces..people probably think he's a bullshitter at the bars.
Brian Jones (Rolling Stones) got kicked out the band HE started.
That's a different video all together Musician's who got Kicked out of Successful Bands. And it's a long list.
He died
True but he got dismissed first about a month or 2 before.
Yeah but they were already famous by the time he left
Fine observation I Ko.Very true.
And then there was John Deacon...
i was just about to say this!
To me Dave Mustiane’s dismissal was the saddest one 😭
@KRXWL3Y No. He deserved to be kicked out. Dude put their bassist in the hospital. Besides, we got Megadeth from the split.
What? You’d rather have no Megadeth and no Kirk Hammett?
yeah it was pretty sad but it was the best choice for everyone
plus we got Kirk Hammett and Megadeth
Center of attention in a smaller, *better* band imo.
Metallica? A band that actually has the lyric "I've even f#cked a school girl's tw#t.
That's not a band, that's just disgusting!
Clifton Photographer That is actually a cover of a UK rock n roll band by the name of the Anti-Nowhere League. In fact most every damn thing on Garage Inc. is cover songs. Not counting a couple of old demos. Try to know your shit

Kicking mustaine out was the best thing hetfield ever did for Dave
When I saw this I was like “Pete best”
Andaman Production SAMEEEE
Pete Willis Def Leppard is a bad miss here.
He's the first one I thought of after Pete Best.
Other notable musicians:
8. The Original Journey Lineup - Their first three albums flopped before Steve Perry entered the scene.
areasevenpro glad Dave Evans got fired then
Pete Willis was the first guy that crossed my mind.
But Clive Burr was still in Maiden when get got big. During the Number of the Beast tour they were in the charts already ,or am i wrong?
Maiden was starting to get big during The Number of the Beast, as they were still supporting acts for larger bands such as Judas Priest and Scorpions during that tour. It's been heavily debated that Burr quit or was fired after the 1982 tour, but Maiden's success hit the sweet spot after Nicko took over as drummer.
Chris Stewart and Genesis; Peter Green and Fleetwood Mac
The most dramatic example is a guy named John Sykes: right after co-writing and created the sound for Whitesnake's biggest album, he was fired and replaced by two guitarists who appeared in all the videos playing his parts.
Very true. Sykes is an amazing guitarist. Especially Thin Lizzy era. David Coverversion screwed him over on 1987!
Kylie McInnes I do like the Killers album but overall I think I like Bruce better
right
Man, if I ever start a band, I definitely want Jason Everman in it, just so I can kick him out. That seems to be the key to success.
Rick Skol
Who the fuck is Alannah Myles ???

Chief Wiggum and the Be Sharps.
They were never the same. :)
Tragic.
Before watching: is Paul Di'anno on this list After watching: yessssssss
What about Syd Barrett from Pink Floyd?
I liked his story!so anti establishment that he walked on a little personal show for a town since it was the mayor who showed up and announced him ready to play!He put the guitar down and walked off!
He hold the band down. If he stood, Pink Floyd would continue to make crappy music
Its was the opposite for him. They so desperately wanted to keep him because he gave them their best lyrics and direction, not to mention he was their front man. When he suffered brain damage from drug use so much he couldn't play anymore they kept him as a manager for a couple of albums until it was hopeless.
Me While his drug usage didn't help, he actually had schizophrenia.
John Rutsey from RUSH
Everman gets kicked out of Nirvana and Soundgarden.

Good job man.

Why don't you look up what pride means and tell me?
@@mr.gilbert2790 I looked it up. First thing that came up was some LGBTQFU2BOOHOO bullshit. But the definition of real pride is basically satisfaction of ones own achievements. Why shouldn't he be proud for his own accomplishments? You probably don't understand that because you've never achieved shit, then again I haven't amount to much in my own life so i can't really talk big but i do know how to give respect to people who clearly earned it. Is the military right about everything? Fuck no, but they still do the dirty work you and me to live "normal decent lives" whatever that means, otherwise we'd get taken over by...well anyone really. And here's the thing, i know human nature those people over there would do the exact same thing to us if we were in THEIR position and they would be the one's taking our resources and shit. "You think pride is killing innocent civilians"
Yes becuse everyone in Iraq and Afghanistan is a civilian...
I mean terrorists are technically civilians... but are they innocent? No.
" just to take their oil and implement banks into their countries to make them poorer and the rich richer."
Come up with a new material people of your ilk were saying this shit for 300 years and every time you had a chance to shine you became even worse (Stalin, Mao, Pol Pot, Ho Chi Mingh, Robspierre etc...)
"Killing other people for a rich man's cause, killing people so companies can sell weapons"
If companies love to kill people how do they profit? I mean who are they selling products to if everyone is dead?
War in Iraq has nothing to do with oil or selling weapons etc... it is due to bad policy that was implemented decades ago like petrodollar where America has sold its economic independence to Saudi Arabia and Qatar. But majority of people who love to talk politics tend to be shallow people with 0 knowledge of strategy, tactics and geopolitics its much easier to parrot bay area slogans.
Your country is not in the pockets of bankers and corporations but Saudi Arabia, Qatar and China who are doing what they are doing for religious and ideological reasons...
Corporations are profit driven and profit can only be obtained in a market and market is nothing but masses of people. NBA has fucked American people to please the Chinese market so the so called "corporations" actually have a master its called the CHINESE. You might complain that corporations have sold you out however they are not the ones running the show.
Dave mustaine didnt need metallica he needed megadeth and so dont we
You for got RUSH replacing drummer John Rutsy with Neil Peart.
Yeah but John Rutsey wasn't kicked out of Rush. His manager thought it to be wise to not do extensive touring with his diabetes problem. And the fact he was more of a classic rock drummer than a progressive one. There was no ill wills or hard feelings between him and the members of Rush.
Neil Peart’s dead
@@racersabandonedretail361 Aw, man. I was enjoying this thread. Why bring sad reality into it? Ima cry abit now. (Peace, dude.)
Dave Sabo (original Bon Jovi guitarist): replaced by Richie Sambora shortly before they recorded their first album. (Sabo became famous later on in Skid Row)
Larry Van Kriedt - original bass player for AC/DC in November 1973 - left the band in April 1974.
Dave Evans, original AC/DC singer. Kicked out after their first gig
What about John Rutsey from Rush? He was kicked out before the recording of Fly by Night, which was a huge hit.
And management used the excuse that he had diabetes and couldnt handle the road.
Yes, but he did get replaced by the greatest rock drummer in history, Neil Peart.
I love neil so much and rush too. They pretty much shaped my playing . But it is interesting how things happen. You can almost hear Neils passive aggressive approach on destroying working man live. Its strange .
Nathan Never Why was Rutsey kicked out?
Squirrel covers due to musical differences between him and the band, the media used the excuse he had diabetes to cover it up.
Paul Di'anno left Maiden AFTER they 'made it big'. 2 studio albums, European tours and world tour.
He just missed out on the commercial success.
yeah, pretty much...... first two albums were already classics when they came out :D
itkojecockot eh they were popular but I hated the killers album
Outlaw I also like the debut better, but "Killers" was great album too......
Fuck D'ianno, he's a bitter cry baby.
Yes, and didn't Matlock write most if their songs, at least co-wrote them?
Matlock is a good musician, however, Steve Jones played the bass on NMTB. Glen is on Anarchy in the UK.
Sven Knutsen i think so , in the classic albums thing they all admit he was the best songwriter in the group
Chad Channing should be on this list and remember he recording a few Nevermind songs before Grohl joined.
The magic between Axl and Slash is unique. Glad Slash stayed
Should of had Matt Stone from Van Halen’s early backyard party and club days before being kicked out from choosing other things than the band, then they later asked Michael Anthony to Join
Should have or should've.
I agree but I see why he didn’t do Van Halen because Matt wasn’t the only switch they made
Thanks, I always wondered why Pete Best was dropped.
To hear Best tell it it was because the girls liked him best, LOL
Because Lennon and McCartney and Epstein were turds.
I just like to hear an 88 year old man say what he said. That's Rock and Roll. 🎸
Mark Stone and Van Halen anyone? He was the original bassist during their club days before he was asked to leave because the VH brothers felt like he had prioritized other things above the band. He was then replaced by Michael Anthony and the rest is history.
Great list, otherwise.
Where's Tony McCarroll, the drummer from Oasis? He was kicked out before they recorded their biggest hit, Wonderwall.
haha he gave my mate a spliff in the The three hammers pub, mill hill, north London. I guess he was visiting Guigsy, as he lives there.
Their first album was already a big hit
It's a shame Noel was such a dick head in those days, his ego ended up destroying the band ultimately.First Tony, then Guigs and Bonehead walked away shortly after. Those guys are one of the defining features of Oasis.A group of lads from nothing that reached the top through sheer determination.Noel's head got inflated from the success and his ego to be bigger than the beatles is where things got fucked up.
He was involved in making their best album so how does that count?
Finally someone said it. Also, I read that before Liam, there was another lead singer of the band when it was still called The Rain. He was subtly kicked out by the group when Liam started hanging out more and more with the band.
No Topper Headon of The Clash? He wrote Rock the Casbah and got kicked out, only to have that song explode.
The clash were already massively huge long before that. In fact they were pretty much done at that point.
What about Keith Levene?
Topper was into heroin and was in and out of the Clash
Such a shame, he was a very talented guy...best musician in the Clash.
Not really. He was kicked out but by that time the band was over. Terry Chimes replaced him for the 1982 US Tour. But Headon played on all the albums but the first.
Surprised John Rutsey (Rush's original drummer) wasn't on here.
Oh yeah I forgot about that one.

Flo Ballard. Kicked out of the group she put together- The Supremes. Originally known as the Primettes........
At least Flo tasted the fame of The Supremes' early success. After singing with them on their first album as their fourth member, Barbara Martin left them in 1962 to raise her baby. Two years later, she was listening to "Baby Love" all day on the radio.
The scorpions replaced Uli John Roth with Matthias Jabs.
Jason everman has had such an interesting life
I think Pete WIllis deserves to be on this list. Even though I miss that dude and the reasons he was kicked out are lies to the media, he was the reason Def Leppard even existed in the first place.
They aren't lies, it's true, even pete admit that he was having drinking problems
I was playing cowbell with U2 and they cut me right before New Years Day hit the charts
Bodies is one of their best songs.
Dave Mustane kicked ass with his own band Megadeth. Had he stayed with Metallica, we would never have created all those great songs.
yeah, i don't think mustaine was kicked out for drinking more, or being violent. i think he was kicked out because james didn't want anyone else writing songs, and Dave mustaine was too good to not right songs. i really think Hetfield can only stand to be around lesser musicians and has to be in charge all the time, otherwise he melts down. just the impression i'm under from a fan perspective.
Latavia was in the group when they had Their first top 10 billboard song No,No,No and a he group’s first #1 billboard song and Bills Bills Bills
I'm going to change genres and styles, I will give old country a go
Pretty happy Mustaine was too much for Metallica. As far as legendary riffs go, I think Megadeth wins!
Pete Best was kicked out because he was better looking than all the other Beatles
wrong, he was better looking than everyone, paul mccartney especially got jealous, and they replaced him with the ugliest guy on earth
if he was such a shitty drummer why even hire him in the first place? they wanted to hire him because they were trying to be like 50s teen idols, but when best was the only guy the girls liked they got the ugliest guy on earth, luckily this played into their hands because much like how the 90s were just a bitchy rebellion of the 80s the 60s were a bitchy rebellion of the 50s
he lasted two years mainly because drummers at that time were extremely diffcult to find. It was extremely ruthless, cruel and extremely messy at the time.
paul apparently had a issue with Stu Sutcliff as well which, on one occasion, nearly resulted in a physical fight on stage in Hamburg
True. Pete Best was the most popular band member among female fans. And it's not like Ringo Starr was an ace replacement.
Courtney Love and Faith No More might be another.
Although, like Dave Mustaine, she didn't too bad for herself afterwards.
Yeah, Some would argue, she made a "killing".

Loved Paul Di'Anno... he was awesome for those first two albums. He wanted out. Don't blame him... but without Bruce... Iron Maiden would not be as huge as they are today.
They were already becoming HUGE even before Bruce joined.

You really had a great variety of bands here. I was actually impressed.
Theres Henry Padovani in the Police , when Andy Summers joined he was fired, a year before their first hit. I think it was regarding musical abilities.
Didn't mention Rutsey (RUSH)
Thank you for keeping me from watching the video all the way through
Think we all knew pete best was gonna be on the list.
Kate _ you like queen and Beatles
How is Terry Glaze/ Terry Lee not on this list???? maybe because he was not "kicked out" but essentially he was. It also created a complete 360 in terms of musical direction after he left Pantera......Or how about Robert Fleischman he literally co-wrote "Wheel in the Sky" and yet never was the one to sing it.... he was kicked out of the band right before Journey went into orbit in mainstream music
a complete 360
!?
That's because Robert became famous for being the singer of Vinnie Vincent Invasion. Oh, wait...nevermind. :)
Should have included John Curulewski of Styx. He suddenly quit after the release of the Equinox album. That album became big with songs still included the set list today. While Styx was one of the biggest acts in the world a couple of years later, John Curulewski was performing in a cover band at roller skating rinks.
That one about the Guns and Roses caught me off guard. Awesome!
An in-law of mine played with a garage band but left it when he was drafted during Vietnam.
They went on to become one of the top 100 bands, while he went on 2 combat tours.
Absaalookemensch And the name of that band is?
me too
But it believe or not, I don't care.
He had died by the time I met my wife, his sister.
lmao
CCR
I’m glad Dave got kicked out if he didn’t there wouldn’t be Megadeth and Megadeth is way better
Nick Simper and Rod Evans from Deep Purple.
I love those Rod Evans albums......
Dave Evans of AC/DC. They recorded one video with him and decided he wasn’t right and then got Bon Scott
IV of Spades, hearing that UNIQUE was out of the band was sad. They had something unique going on till he either quite or was kicked out.
RON MCGOVNEY- original bass player for Metallica. My step brothers dad. Lol such a small world
So he's your step dad?
@@stooperbrody2993 no
That's awesome
How about Bradley Nowell dying before Sublime blew up?
What about the guy who quit queen before Freddie Mercury joined
1v1 Noscopesonly Yep good question. His name was Tim Staffell.
7:26 Now that's how good The Who really is. Get kicked out of the band and still think it's the best rock band in the world.
My dad was the original drummer for Bob Seger before he made it big
The OP had originally misspelled Bob Seger. Originally it said "Bob Sager". Hence my post, "who is Bob Sager". I was just being a spelling Nazi. I love Seger. Seen him in concert several times.
My friend's uncle was a hairstylist for Bob Saget.
Bob Seger is a Michigan hero. Did you dad play at THE PLACE in Grand Rapids in 1968?
HanBaby82 no idea. A all I know is he used to play the drums, but left before Seger got famous.
Cool...My brother drummed for the band that became Loverboy....Doesn't regret leaving though...Said they seemed to be going nowhere at the time....He did get to get up and play at a show they did in the town where he lives now, though.
Pete Willis from Def Leppard
clark tippens I was thinking the same thing.
Life is rough sometimes.
Opposite story (solo members quit or getting kicked out and making it big solo while their band never does):
Innosense.
