John Denver's death wasn't due to 'engine failure.' The plane he was flying (for the first time) had two gas tanks. When one tank was running out, the pilot has to switch to the other tank. When gas tank #1 started to run out, Denver had to turn 90 degrees to his right to switch tanks. He actually practiced doing this with the head mechanic watching, just to make sure he could reach it. He could. But he failed to realize that when in the air, he'd be strapped down into the seat. The NTSB thinks that once he realized he couldn't reach the selector switch because he was strapped down, he panicked and pressed his right foot hard against the floorboard to reach the switch, but what he did was depress the rudder pedal, causing the plane to violently pitch, and since he was at only 500ft, he had no room for error. His plane rolled over and slammed into the ocean and some rocks.

Janis Joplin once stated in an interview, "Face it- I'm not going to live to see 30." She died of a drug overdose at age 27 in 1970. Amy Winehouse, while recording with Tony Bennett, confessed to him, "You know, Tony, I don't think I'm going to live very long." It still haunts him to this day as she died shortly after their recording sessions. John Denver could have predicted how he was going to die in Rocky Mountain High: "And they say that he got crazy once and he tried to touch the sun." Denver was flying an experimental aircraft illegally as his pilots license was revoked due to DUI arrests.
Regarding Jeff Buckley, also the lyrics from "So Real": "And I couldn't awake from the nightmare, that sucked me in and pulled me under Pulled me under"
His most eerie line is the opening on from the last song on Disc 1 of Sketches for My Sweetheart the Drunk: You & I. “Ah, the calm below that poisoned river wild.” He recorded that just months be he drowned in a river.
The fact that Jeff Buckley's father Tim Buckley died at the age of 28 should have been mentioned. Especially since Jeff looked so much like his father. It's almost eerie how similar they look.
The lyric is "And if de-elevator tries to bring you down." Prince said he wanted to say Satan or the Devil but the record company didn't want him to use those words so he renamed the Devil as "De-elevator." That line is a reference to Satan trying to take people down.
Another coincidence is that the minute John Lennon died in hospital the Beatles song 'All My Loving ' came on the hospital radio. Noone other then the surgeons and the police officers that brought him in knew that he was there. I just find that so strange :/
That is urban Legend. That has already been debunked. Yeah the doctors had the radio playing why someone's dying and they're trying to give instructions and the nurses are trying to receive instructions, but there was a radio playing a Beatles song. Not only does it sound Preposterous and ridiculous. One of the nurses claimed there was no music being played when John Lennon died. It was in a private room where there was no TV and no radio. Plus the rumor that you just refer to I've heard that same rumor with many different me Beatles songs that were supposedly playing while John died.
@@thomas-rs1vb I meant it played in the hospital not the operating theatre itself and the most popular one I will heard is all my loving I've never seen any other song mentioned
@@ferdiahunt9899 so when did this song supposably play and what proof is there except proof that it did not happen. Like someone else mentioned John was shot dead he arrived at the hospital d. O. A. Maybe in the lobby they had a radio playing and that song came on because it was the early 80s and Beatles songs were still flooding the airwaves. Plus" All My Loving was a McCartney song with John just credited
I don't think that was the WEIRDEST coincidence. The weirdest was when after he recovered from an overdose weeks before his death, he told fans at Paisley to "save your prayers".
John Denver's air craft's engine failed because it ran out of fuel. He was told to change a fuel tank switch that was never changed. I will always regret not seeing him live. What a talented person. (...
He was reaching for the awkwardly placed fuel valve over his left shoulder and the NTSB concluded he likely inadvertently applied right rudder and lost control
Not to mention the plane he was flying was an experimental aircraft and the seat was designed for a taller person. He had to use a cushion or pillow to push him forward enough to reach the pedals.
I saw him seven times, the last time was Cardiff South Wales six months before he died, the first time I saw him was at the royal Albert hall London where I met him, a wonderful man and great great entertainer truly mist
Not only was John Denver gifted with a awesome Singing Voice, but ya have to Admit, he was also a good looking man, with awesome looking Blonde Hair... I was and am a Fan of his singing. May he REST IN PEACE 😇👍🏼
There is a Jackie Wilson impersonator that looks and sounds so much like him that people convinced him to take a DNA test and he turned out to be his son! His mother was only 14 at the time she had him and never told him who his father was.
In the Beatles song Come Together, Lennon can be heard whispering "shoot me" during the bass and drum fill sections. 11 years later someone would do just that. At that time he was in a good place getting his music career back on track after a long hiatus. He was looking forward to his 40's and the rest of the 80's. He all and likely would have reunited with the Beatles at some level as his relationship with Paul was good at the time, even if it was just a single or an appearance at Live Aid.
The Beatles' hit Come Together has John Lennon whispering Shoot Me. Dies from being shot. Wham's hit Last Christmas has the lyrics "Last Christmas I gave you my heart." George Michael dies of a cardiac arrest on Christmas Day.
Jim Croce, released posthumously, sang "moving ahead, so life won't pass me by." John Lennon, all throughout "Come Together" whispers repeatedly, "Shoot me."

I grew up in the 60s and there were many musicians that died young. As for Jeff Buckley , his father Tim Buckley died at the age of 28yrs old from a drug overdose. Ronnie Vanzant of the Lynyrd Skynyrd band prior to boarding that fateful flight told a back up singer who didn't want to board the flight said " we all have to die sometime'. Ronnie said he would never live to see 30. He was 29 when he died.
God. It has been 23 years. I remember, distinctly, the day John Denver died. It was a fuel switch problem. The handle was broken, and there was a set of vicegrips in it's place. It also was in a weird place, behind the pilot's head, instead of down, close to the pilots leg, or on the dash. It required him to turn, and use both hands to twist the fuel selector valve, to switch tanks. Experimental aircraft can be a pain sometimes. By the way, a lot of that footage is from the 1995 Wildlife Concert tour. I highly, highly, recommend watching it. It's an amazing concert. Eagles and Horses, Ponies, Potter's Wheel, Calypso, Amazon, You Say the Battle is Over, Me and My Uncle, Eagle and the Hawk, Dreamland Express, Leaving On a Jet Plane/Goodbye Again, Mathew, Bet on the Blues, The Harder They Fall, and Country Roads (the Fallout 76 song) are all among my favs. I'm a fan of John Denver. Lol
Very telling that so many musicians abuse drugs and alcohol to a great extent, and apparently many of them aren't in denial over it, yet it leads to their demise anyway.
the last song Kurt Cobain recorded was called “you know you’re right” and it’s about him divorcing his wife courtney. the lyrics say things like “never speak a word again” and “always knew it would come to this” then he killed himself
As for death self-predictions, when I was in my mid-teens I began to feel quite sure I was going to die before I was 30 in a car accident. I had a long history of visions and predictions that had come true, so I felt pretty sure, and yet had a strange acceptance of the fact. Later in my early 20s I took a job working at DHL as a courier (when it was wild and woolly, not all uniformed and proper like now), where I averaged about 200 miles a day driving like a madman to make hard deadlines (airline flights in particular, plus it was fun!). I wasn't concerned about my..."vision", but I was aware that it still felt very real. But the years went by, I worked for 2 more courier companies, and all was fine. And now I'm in my mid-60s. My point is, I felt VERY certain of my car crash before 30 ending, but it didn't happen. So I'm glad I didn't worry about it and just went on with life. And if you feel this kind of prediction for your life, I say, don't sweat it - whatever will be will be. Enjoy what you have, keep an eye on your health, and go forward in life with enthusiasm! Every day is a gift.
This is a good video. Thank you for the minimum amount of facts but still perfect amount for us to understand the story. And that you for not having annoying aftereffect numbers breaking up in bestween.. this is good.
I think one of the main reasons the 27 club gets a lot more notice in the spooky department then others is the fact the fair percentage of the stars who have died at 27 all have the same rare blood type. RH O Negative, Jimi Hendrix, Janis Joplin, Jim Morrison, Kurt Cobain, Amy Winehouse, and Brian Jones all had this blood type. Pretty strange.
What about Prince? I heard he died in an elevator. "And if the elevator tries to break you down . . . . . go crazy . . . . . PUNCH A HIGHER FLOOR !" And he did. You can't get any higher than HEAVEN.
Growing up, I convinced myself that I'd die at 27. Luckily.. after a terrible, life destroying and often deadly run with a pain killer addiction.. and a really uncomfortable experience waking up naked in the back of an ambulance after being dead for 30 mins or so.. I finally decided to check into a rehab. Which, I must admit was almost as terrible an experience as addiction (do to the programs denials about it being a heavily religious process - that I'm not on board with.) Anyways, it wasn't easy. And I certainly understand why most people go back to their old ways. It's was an experience that I wouldn't wish on anyone and years later, it's still a struggle - every day. I guess I technically died at 27, but fortunately I was narcamed back to life on the 2nd attempt. What a crazy thing man.
My favorite prediction in music is when Brian Wilson wrote The Beach Boys classic "My Brother Dennis Is Going To Drown In 1983" for the unfinished Smile album
Albert Hammond had a hit with "I dont wonna die in an air disaster", predicting just right that , he wouldn't die flying- though that can still happen as Hammond is still around :) But John Denver, even if he presaw what was going to happen, his engine didn't fail. He had just purchased this innovative "ducktail" plane in which the pilot had to keep balance by pumping fuel manually from left tank to right - and the pump handle was at the back over pilot's left shoulder. So when the thing did get unstable, Denver must 've panicked, unable to get the plane straight by hard pumping behind his back, while keeping the other hand on the column trying to stabilize the flight.. The technician guy who instructed him was in the documentary recounting all this, and the man seemed kind of uncomfortable when explaining he declined Denvers' invitation to fly with him - nor stopping him doing this first flight .. The air safety board let the guy off though.
How is Ronnie Van Zant not on the list. He openly predicted for years he wouldn't live to see 30 (he didn't) and wrote Free Bird....about him being gone....years prior to his death. Talk about missing the most obvious one...
actually, freebird was co written with Allen Collins and it was a love song for the girl allen was dating at the time. It was about how he was always leaving her to go out on the road....
On the Beatles song "Come Together" you can hear John Lennon say "Shoot Me". It's hard to make out because the songs distinctive drumming partly covers it. But if you listen you can see him saying it in live performances and on the Anthology version.
Think about this: Scripture tells us that “out of the mouth we speak life and death” and then admonishes us to speak life. If they are speaking death and speaking specifics about death, it stands to reason they’re speaking death to themselves.
It reads "out of the aberdance of the heart the mouth speaks" another verse says " the power of life & death lays in ur tongue " The Bible in another verse says "guard ur heart for out ur heart comes the springs of life"....
John Denver was not flying his own private plane. He was flying a single passenger type of plane, he had very little knowledge of. Some of the controls that he was used to being in front of him, were actually behind him. They think this may be all, or part, of the reason he crashed. He shouldn't have been flying at all, because his license had been suspended. That being said, it was still a tragedy, that we lost him so young. RIP John Denver.

You'd have to be high or have a death wish to want to swim in the 'Mighty' Mississippi River. I've seen that river. I've been on it. It is absolutely terrifying. Watched it pull huge buoys under like it was nothing. And they STAYED under. Buoys as big as a car....
Dale Kelly Nearing 45 years plus Nillson didn’t want to rent the apartment to Moon. Mama Cass had a heart attack no drugs and Keith Moon died from a drug meant for hospitals only to prevent DT’s in alcoholics. It has as close a limit as propofol or fentanyl for OD. Doctors now would give him Valium and likely not without a doctor or nurse practitioner present. Alcoholic withdrawals drop your blood sugar not just make hallucinations your demon, watched a few where the hospital had to paralyze and put on life support. See someone go out like that isn’t pleasant. Still don’t understand why a junkie hears of bad package and has to try it.

If you prefer not to say, I completely understand. Either way, I am wishing the best for you and very glad to hear your wishes and dreams have been realized thanks to your own actions and willpower. @@geoffphillips3320 My particular flavor of ALS usually kills you the fastest. 6-18 months after symptoms start, so I've been lucky. My arms and legs still work great (so I can still drive my manual transmission muscle car, but I don't race anymore), but I can't talk at all, swallowing is mildly difficult and eating is no longer possible. Without the feeding tube and trach, I'd probably have died around June/July of last year.
Writing is a chore because my left hand fingers are curling up so novel writing is pretty much out. I'd hoped to keep writing the series for decades to come but thankfully had time to wrap it up nicely and give a summary of each character's lives after the series ended. That way the readers sort of know what became of everyone. :)

Where is Ronnie Van Zant he told his dad and so many others he wouldn't make it see 30 and he passed at age 29.
Merle Haggard was such a badass. He pushed until his birthday just to give Death the finger
He was awesome. He was one of my favorites!!
Robert Johnson was the first member of the 27 club
Janis Joplin once stated in an interview, "Face it- I'm not going to live to see 30."
She died of a drug overdose at age 27 in 1970.
Amy Winehouse, while recording with Tony Bennett, confessed to him, "You know, Tony, I don't think I'm going to live very long." It still haunts him to this day as she died shortly after their recording sessions.
John Denver could have predicted how he was going to die in Rocky Mountain High: "And they say that he got crazy once and he tried to touch the sun."
Denver was flying an experimental aircraft illegally as his pilots license was revoked due to DUI arrests.
Jim Morrison wrote about death constantly.
So did Jim Morrison.
Same with Brian jones, Keith joked about how he probably not live to 28, and he said "I know" or something like that.
Regarding Jeff Buckley, also the lyrics from "So Real":
"And I couldn't awake from the nightmare, that sucked me in and pulled me under
Pulled me under"
Brad Boychuk plenty of others. In grace nightmare by the sea etc...
His most eerie line is the opening on from the last song on Disc 1 of Sketches for My Sweetheart the Drunk: You & I.
“Ah, the calm below that poisoned river wild.”
He recorded that just months be he drowned in a river.
MojoPin1983 definitely knew he was going. Did you ever wonder if Jeff was under Mk ultra ?
@TheMajestic No. I don’t go for conspiracies.
MojoPin1983 I see, but mk ultra is very real and common in the entertainment industry.
Singer Ian Curtis of Joy Division. Died May 18, 1980. Suicide by hanging.
Singer Chris Cornell of Soundgarden. Died May 18, 2017. Suicide by hanging.
Chester Bennington would die later that year, on Cornell's birthday!
Very eerie coincidence.
No it was planned
They were "suicided" not suicide themselves !
Chester Bennington died on Chris' birthday
After Janis and Hendrix's deaths Jim Morrison said to his friends they were looking to number 3.

Death knows not to tell Merle Haggard anything. Merle Haggard tells Death when to be ready.
Merle was more badass than Chuck Norris
Uhhh Merle Haggard died in April of 2016.
The fact that Jeff Buckley's father Tim Buckley died at the age of 28 should have been mentioned. Especially since Jeff looked so much like his father. It's almost eerie how similar they look.
I think Prince’s lyric “And if the elevator tries to take you down, go crazy”. Our souls know when to go.
This is just a rumour. John was DOA when he went to the hospital. He died as soon as he was shot.

I lost it when Peter came up. He is forever loved. Rest easy, Green Man 💚
The Beatles' hit Come Together has John Lennon whispering Shoot Me. Dies from being shot.
Wham's hit Last Christmas has the lyrics "Last Christmas I gave you my heart." George Michael dies of a cardiac arrest on Christmas Day.
Tara Carroll exactly! I was wondering why George wasn’t mentioned. Or Prince.

You are what you speak. Thanks for the post.
Amy Winehouse was a beautiful lady,it's very unfortunate that she had to die.
I don't think so at all. She just seemed like a lush.
the last song Kurt Cobain recorded was called “you know you’re right” and it’s about him divorcing his wife courtney. the lyrics say things like “never speak a word again” and “always knew it would come to this” then he killed himself
When my grandmother passed she said she needed Merle haggard up in heaven to sing for her and two days later he passed away
Let's not forget Jimi Hendrix...he died at 27 too
This video isn't about the 27 club though
Linkin Park's "leave out all the rest" and Chester's death.
And Avicii's posthumous track "S.O.S"
This is a good video. Thank you for the minimum amount of facts but still perfect amount for us to understand the story. And that you for not having annoying aftereffect numbers breaking up in bestween.. this is good.
I was waiting to hear about Prince who died in an elevator and John Lennon who sang "the way things are going, they're gonna crucify me"
CIA took care of that.
John Lennon wasn't crucified. He was shot. And "they" didn't do it, a crazy guy did.
Not accurate. Lennon had a prediction that "some loony" will shoot him dead.
Prince dying in an elevator much?
No, just the once.
Kamandi best response ever bahahaha
What about Prince? I heard he died in an elevator. "And if the elevator tries to break you down . . . . . go crazy . . . . . PUNCH A HIGHER FLOOR !" And he did. You can't get any higher than HEAVEN.
May they all Rest In Peace...
Which, I must admit was almost as terrible an experience as addiction (do to the programs denials about it being a heavily religious process - that I'm not on board with.)
Anyways, it wasn't easy. And I certainly understand why most people go back to their old ways. It's was an experience that I wouldn't wish on anyone and years later, it's still a struggle - every day.
I guess I technically died at 27, but fortunately I was narcamed back to life on the 2nd attempt. What a crazy thing man.
I wish you well and hope your recovery continues and it becomes easier for you.
RIP Peter Steele

Albert Hammond had a hit with "I dont wonna die in an air disaster", predicting just right that , he wouldn't die flying- though that can still happen as Hammond is still around :)
But John Denver, even if he presaw what was going to happen, his engine didn't fail.
“Not by design though” this world is so sad and brainwashed.
Peter Steele is so underrated! He was a brilliant songwriter and performer
Think about this: Scripture tells us that “out of the mouth we speak life and death” and then admonishes us to speak life. If they are speaking death and speaking specifics about death, it stands to reason they’re speaking death to themselves.

GOD BLESS YOU
It reads "out of the aberdance of the heart the mouth speaks" another verse says
" the power of life & death lays in ur tongue "

John Denver was not flying his own private plane. He was flying a single passenger type of plane, he had very little knowledge of. Some of the controls that he was used to being in front of him, were actually behind him. They think this may be all, or part, of the reason he crashed. He shouldn't have been flying at all, because his license had been suspended. That being said, it was still a tragedy, that we lost him so young. RIP John Denver.

Nearing 45 years plus Nillson didn’t want to rent the apartment to Moon. Mama Cass had a heart attack no drugs and Keith Moon died from a drug meant for hospitals only to prevent DT’s in alcoholics.
