Well, some of them ARE pretty well documented. I mean, it's well known Elvis WAS with her when she was 14. For some people that's pretty bad. Judging Elvis or anyone as terrible for the things they did? That's another thing. That's kind of for God to do in my eyes. It's just a sad fact that a lot of the creators of the greatest art in this world were not always very nice people.
Having a bad life, a hard upbringing, I am sure you realize does not absolve someone of bad deeds. The one thing I will say is, that as famous people, these peoples' sins are somehow magnified for some. WE are ALL the same in the eyes of the Lord though. God bless 'em all. (and us)
Eh, John Lennon is an easy target, most of all because he can’t defend himself (not that he’d bother), but also because he preached “Peace and Love”, while being a FLAWED HUMAN BEING HIMSELF. People always like to pile on stuff like that, especially someone who sharply divides people’s opinions about himself like John Lennon does. Remember that Roseanne episode when she and Jackie pick up Jenna Eflfman hitchhiking, and they discuss how AWFUL men are, especially old softies like John Lennon, who, GOD HELP HIM, once wrote a song called “Run For Your Life”, about a jealous, abusive man threatening his wife/girlfriend... Oy, how IRONIC is it that ROSEANNE was speculating on what a shitty person John Lennon, in reality, was. What goes around, comes around. Anyway, my point is, some people, nearly ALWAYS with an ax to grind, want to tag Lennon as a “hypocrite”, but we should ALWAYS look to see where the sour grapes are emanating from. For example, Roseanne Barr has ALWAYS been an opportunist...and who’s more of a hypocrite than she?
@@tuckercarlsonsmicropenis1283 Still doesn’t change the fact that Lennon was a piece of crap. Do a deep reading on him. He was a prick with a good voice
@Eric No name I absolutely LOVE that John Lennon was such a complex person. It makes those who live in a “black and white” world’s heads explode 😝 😝 😆 😂
A comedian once said; "You know, Sinatra once saved my life in Vegas-I was getting beaten up by some people, and he came along, and said; Ok Guys, that's enough..."
I'd have included John Lennon. He sang about everyone living in peace and harmony, even as he was verbally and at times physically abusive towards his son and both of his wives.
He hit Cynthia *once* in the past, yes. But Yoko has denied more than once that he never hit her. The abuse in John & Yoko's relationship was there, but it was the other way around. She manipulated John and treated his family like shit, including Julian.
ok, abusive is awful, but why and how does "anti-establishment" count as a character flaw for Brian Jones? that's not a flaw for a rock star it's a prerequisite.

NEVER let "talent" blind you to what lies beneath the surface of human beings. Whether it be musicians, artists, actors, preachers, scientists or just about any other profession where a person stands heads & shoulders above his peers. This is a trap that many people get caught up in. Love & admire the talent, but always know, we all have a dark side. Unfortunately, some more than others. In the end, it will all come out in the wash; whether posthumously, or while you're still walking & talking. Oh, and BTW, let's NOT forget the antics of some talented, but quite horrible women.
You hit the nail on the head with that comment. Humanity has always had a sense of duality to it. I have violent temper problems and addiction problems, myself, but I also like to crack jokes in front of people.
Yeah they are all just people people have affairs use drugs etc. I don't know why they get a pass and get put on a pedestal just cause they have some money. Lots of people are different at work than at home too so a public image compared to behind closed doors is different that can go the other way too though someone accused of being really wild might be quiet and introverted and smeared in the press when the public does not care about the truth. Lots of swingers in that life too so people sleeping around in the 60s especially was not uncommon.
Trust me, I believe in that “ do not meet your idols” concept. Sometimes it can be confusing , and heartbreaking. Or enlightening. Who knows? They are people like us, they’re not cartoons. They’re not always happy. Or sad. Or rude. Or polite. You love their art and sometimes worship and follow someone who really doesn’t want to be the leader of anything, just write songs. Another one that I can think of is Puff Daddy (or Diddy, whatever he wants to call himself this decade). Now to be fair, neither Biggie Smalls or Tupac were good people, either. But I'm under the firm impression that both of them were murdered under arrangements made my Puff Daddy. The rap and R&B genre is held up by a huge web of extortion and murder for hire schemes. Frankly, I'm surprised that Dr. Dre hasn't tried to do the same to Eminem after all of these years. He and Snoop Dogg are among the worst human beings alive in the entire music industry.

The Brian Jones claptrap is 50 years of spin - he was kicked out of HIS band for drug use....didn't kick Keith out for his excessive use of smack, did they? Brian's " anti-establishment " stance was in fact, his articulate & intelligent questioning ( he had an IQ 135) of post- 1950s rules & beliefs. Re the violent temper- what Anita Pallenberg failed to say in her interview was that she also used to hit him, well documented. She was a head taller than him and he was incredibly frail. And Anita's affair with Keith didn't start in Morocco,he moved into Brian's flat months prior,to hang around Anita,he spoke about the looks they gave each other when Brian went to bed. Then dumped him with double pneumonia,in hospital in France,on his Birthday, while they started their affair in Spain. Incidentally,Sir Galahad Keith was banned from Alitalia airlines for thumping Anita in the plane toilet. Didn't mention that either. Many of Brian's ex partners ( including his kids mothers) still have only good things to say about him, irrespective of his flaws.
Max 820-I agree with the drug thing. What a bunch of hypocrites. They've done so much dope over the years it's a wonder any of them made it past 40! To kick him out of the band he formed for doing the very same things they do is ridiculous.
Max 820 Keith did a lotta smack, no doubt, but while doing a lotta smack he was also able to function and contribute to the music of the Stones in his usual way. He was able write, play and perform at the Keith Richards level, despite his personal lifestyle of hard drugs and booze. I dig Brian, but he was obviously unable to burn the candle at both ends, and balance his lifestyle w/ his band responsibilities. He could barely get through recording sessions because he was so zonked out, so he was sacked...and rightly so. And just because Anita may have given a Brian thump - frail or not - doesn't make it cool if he gave her a thump, as well. And also - so what if Brian's ex-partners and their kids and mothers had good things to say about him? That was the good Brian. What does that have to do w/ the temperamental Brian who was fucked up on drugs? I'm sure he was mainly a decent bloke, and from some things I've read, he was. But he was a decent bloke w/ a fiery streak who got ruined by drugs.

Also, being a horrible husband or boyfriend is shitty, but not compared to murder and attempted murder or pedophilia in my opinion. J Cash could still be a very good person, just a really bad significant other.
Cash most certainly had a troubled past, when he first came on the scene he was addicted to drugs and alcohol and made some horrible decisions, but by the 70s and 80s that man turned completely around. He was a great dude, and an amazing example of how someone can turn their life around and find redemption. The fact that people act as though forgiveness can't exist and demonized someone for their entire existence just because of choices they made when they were younger is insane.

Sinatra once broke his fianceé's nose when she went to tell him something during a card game. Others there were appalled, and hard to bring her, covered in blood, to hospital. He never apologised, and couldn't see why even his friends were appalled. Even in his late 1970s on a visit to Ireland he was notorious. People in his hotel were terrified of him. He was obnoxious to the then Irish president and his wife when she mentioned she liked a song of his he hated. His own management disowned his behaviour and forced him to apologise. (That first lady was also rather unpleasant to everyone, so it was joked that it was the first time ever that people found themselves feeling sorry for her! Where Johnny Cash is concerned this is a misleading, one-sided misrepresentation of the man. He had his struggles/demons, he was open about them and fought them all his life. His first wife Vivian did have it very hard due to his drug addiction and associated behaviors, and she was obviously angry at June, which is to be expected even if not completely fair - however, based on everything that has been written about Johnny Cash, their marriage was in trouble before June came along - they probably would have grown apart and divorced even without the drugs and June, because when Johnny’s career developed and he evolved into a traveling superstar musician Vivian had difficulty with this lifestyle, did not understand what it entailed and really wanted a husband with a more normal 9 to 5 stay-at-home existence, while Johnny was drawn to pursue his music - their expectations and personal ambitions were ultimately incompatible. The reality was Vivian and Johnny were married very young, too young, and while they loved each other they did not really know or understand each other when they married. Many people with multiple kids, grow apart for various reasons and divorce, and then remarry all the time - Johnny Cash was human and he made mistakes - he was not the first or last person to fall in love with someone else and go through a divorce - let those of us who are without sin throw the first stone. Johnny took care of Vivian and his daughters financially over the years (Vivian did not have to work to support herself financially and her new husband lived a good lifestyle because of Johnny’s financial support). Johnny also willingly acknowledged that he had not been a good husband and father when he was married to Vivian and worked hard to make it up to his daughters in the following years, which they have acknowledged. Despite his issues, his close friends, all his children and his family have all said he was a good, loving humble man and he was very loved by them - it is for them to forgive him which they all did based on what they all have said - it is not for us, his fans, to judge as we were not there. Despite all the struggles (and there were also many stated good times as well) June stuck by Johnny during the dark times over the years, which helped him survive these times, and their love for each other survived and grew stronger and lasted until they died - Johnny and June obviously found their soulmate in each other - many of us are not so lucky. Many, many people have stated that Johnny Cash helped them and others in their time of need throughout his lifetime and he was a huge humanitarian. He was not an evil, terrible man by any stretch of the imagination but a good “human” man who believed strongly in God and in redemption, and who did the best he could with the life and the musical gifts he was given, and the world is better place for it/him as we will always have his music and amazing performances to listen to and enjoy forever.
Surprised John Lennon isn't on this list. He did a lot of extremely douchy stuff. Two things to add to the case against Sinatra. First, he paid a terrified waiter to punch writer Dominic Dunne in the face, then laughed like a school bully. This is not a Hollywood legend; it comes straight from the bleeding mouth of Dunne. Needless to say they were not close chums. Second, he was quite proud to be one of JFK's friends. Bragged about it a lot and even installed a helipad on his property so Kennedy could reach him easily. Which Kennedy stopped attempting to do when Sinatra's mob ties became glaringly exposed. Kennedy couldn't very well be hanging out with anyone even remotely involved with the Mafia while his administration was actively prosecuting mobsters. After being informed that Kennedy was ditching him, Sinatra flew into a rage, grabbed a sledgehammer and destroyed the helipad in true psycho fashion. Again, well documented in several books about Sinatra and/or the Rat Pack. There's a long list of atrocities against the various women in his life. The video producers just picked a few for brevity.
I wish this weren't true of Sinatra. I own everything the man ever recorded, and I sometimes find it difficult to reconcile my appreciation for his talent with his known personality defects.
I love Sinatra. But he could definitely be a real dick when things didn't go his way. He used to complain about how Bing Crosby beat his kids. Granted, Sinatra never beat his kids, but he still did a lot of shitty stuff. That said, there was another side of him that was very gentle and kind, and did some very bold and generous things for people.

(and us)
Paul mccartney was more of a father to julian lennon than john lennon, that's all i'm saying...
Hey jude...is for julian when they divorced as well
@Kitten Lyric That’s how some of those ‘certain’ ex-wives ‘ maneuver’ things, they use the kids.

NEVER let "talent" blind you to what lies beneath the surface of human beings. Whether it be musicians, artists, actors, preachers, scientists or just about any other profession where a person stands heads & shoulders above his peers. This is a trap that many people get caught up in. Love & admire the talent, but always know, we all have a dark side. Unfortunately, some more than others. In the end, it will all come out in the wash; whether posthumously, or while you're still walking & talking. Oh, and BTW, let's NOT forget the antics of some talented, but quite horrible women.

Glad Anita is gone she also is the one who destroyed Brian
Max 820-I agree with the drug thing. What a bunch of hypocrites. They've done so much dope over the years it's a wonder any of them made it past 40! To kick him out of the band he formed for doing the very same things they do is ridiculous.
Anita was rated at 2-watt by URL.
Brian was murdered. dId his bandmates give a shit? Or Anita and the rest of the 2-watt platoon. Fuck 'em!
Sinatra once broke his fianceé's nose when she went to tell him something during a card game. Others there were appalled, and hard to bring her, covered in blood, to hospital. He was verbally and physically abusive to his wives and kids. Basically ignored his older son

He used to make fun of the mentally challenged. It's on video. Doesn't make him Hitler or anything, but I always thought it was in bad taste.

Excuse me but Ginger Baker is one of the greatest, most incentive and innovative drummers to have ever lived. Do some research. Also, perfectionists are always difficult and dangerous people.

Julia Holcomb's story leaves out some parts, like when Tyler associate Ray Tabano came to the apartment Tyler left her in with no money or food. After some phone calls Tyler finally sent his buddy Tabano over ostensibly to take her grocery shopping but then finds herself "suddenly" in the midst of a on going fire in the apartment and nearly dying of smoke inhalation what happened prior is anybody's guess but being smart enough to put 2&2 together says something worse than any Harvey Weinstein.

Kennedy and Sinatra...Birds of a feather

People aren't black and white as being entirely good or entirely horrible, even primarily-bad people in history have good traits and vice versa. And also most celebrities aren't as good people as most people make them out to be actually be. They still make choices, and on top of that have PLENTY of power and wealth which adds to a sense of invincibility. I'm not defending choices they've made but on the other hand you shouldn't expect them to be pure role models or angels because they're celebrities.
