Nailed it! What a solid list, great job! Honorable mention for “Searching With My Good Eyes Closed”, specifically the ending part where Chris repeatedly sang “is it to the sky?”. Chills down my spine everytime I hear it.
What set him a part from other men who could hit high notes is, Chris could SANG up there. He wasn't just screaming high pitched notes, he was doing runs, had a beautiful bravado, held the notes etc. He really is in a league of his own.
Very nicely done. Please consider a YT on “Baritone” Chris. As you know, Cornell had a rich lower register that really aged well. “Overfloater” and his later “When Hope and Promise Fade” as well as his covers of Zep’s, “Thank You” and Prince”s “Nothing Compares to You” all show a very soulful, rich baritone. Chris, our fallen hero, was a voice for all seasons and all reasons. 🙏
That made my week, thank you! Awesome list. I was glad you didn’t miss Beyond The Wheel. I saw Chris perform this live with SG many years ago and I was dumbstruck. There’s also a famous live performance in Düsseldorf, 1990 on YT that is worth watching (many times). RIP to the GOAT.
Good list, and I appreciate the fact you didnt try to even out songs from different records. A couple of my favorites are on Room a Thousand Years Wide and Black Rain. You could honestly make a killer list just from Badmotorfinger. Have a good one!
Chris Cornell and Myles Kennedy I think are the best vocalists in recent times. The power, range and versatility are almost unbelievable. I remember hearing Smokestack Lightnin and Summergirl for the first time and being astounded lol
It's worth mentioning an honorable mention for the song "Room a Thousand Years Wide" from the album Badmotorfinger, which starts with a subtle (but aggressive) scream! By the way, excellent video. You are a very charismatic person.
Great list, go deep on Cornell's voice is always great Man Louder than Love seems to appear here a lot (crazy album!), Don't forget the vocal Intro of Power Trip! And where the heck did Birth Ritual disappeared?😅
Hmmm….the Soundgarden comparisons to Led Zeppelin never made a lot of sense to me. Maybe they're similar at a superficial level, but they have very different approaches and sensibilities. I think people compare Chris Cornell to Robert Plant because there’s really no one else to compare him too. The dude (CC) was a singular talent. IMO, of course.
The audio quality is not amazing but this live version of room a thousand years wide in Berkeley 94 is mind blowing. From 2 minutes and 20 seconds untill the end of the song might be his best live vocals ever. I know! I thought of so many after making this lol
Appreciate the Chris Cornell love, Soundgarden is my favorite band, I find your lack of Superunkown compelling though
??
You may be referring to the likes of Limo Wreck, The Day I Tried to Live, 4th July… may make part 2?!🤔

Let me drown would be a contender for his best F#5 scream but doesn't get much love
