So my band and I have been trying to figure this out for a while now. Just using simple garage band right now. We can not get the guitar to make any noise on garage band, yes garage band recognizes the xenyx 1204. I connect my guitar directly into the mixer, Output device is just my mac's basic speakers. My question is do I need other cords or anything? The only cable i have running into it is just the guitar cable idk if I need other cables or anything. We're not at the point of recording using a mic out yet, just guitar in
yes, you can. Some mixers have a link function. A work around is to run your main outputs of smaller mixer into the inputs of larger mixer. This is not ideal, but will work in a pinch.
Thanks for the video! What OS are you using? I've heard there are some problems connecting Behringer USB mixers on MacBooks with Sierra. I wanna get an inferior model (the 502) for my podcasts, but I have Sierra on my MacBook so I don´t know what to do...
you may want to look into the Soundcraft Notepad mixers. very inexpensive and digital. you won't have to mess with 2nd party drivers. Links for the SoundCraft Digital Mixers amzn.to/3m4kxl6 amzn.to/2W8Cpkm
Hello Deb and thank you for this video. I've the Notepad 12 FX and I'd like to use it as audio interface with Logic Pro X. When I try to record my Shure SM7 on Input 1 the record volume is very low and I must set channel gain to the maximum value (60db) to record. Is it normal?
Hi hello... I try to live record my beginner xr12 to my mac and using cable usb to usb. Somehow my mac didn't recognize the mixer usb, do you know what do i need to do? Thanks
Behringer is analog. 1 stereo channel out. Some software give you Stereo track that can be a combined signal or panned hard right and left. Most software will give you 2 individual tracks, one for left, one for right. You can only record 2 tracks at a time though you can have multiple tracks going out to your software.
Deb, I'm trying to connect my usb mixer to my MacBook. Trying to use the XLR mics though. I can not for the life of me get it to pick up any sound from the mic or produce any sound to the headphone. Using logic pro as well. Any help?
My guess is you have something turned off. Make sure headphone volume for mixer is on and volume turned up. Behringer mixers have a button that has to be switched on for headphones. Also make sure you have mapped your tracks properly in software. Check your system settings to see if mixer is being picked up for sound. Start there until you have sound then move to the software.
Hi Deb, I connect my Behringer 1204USB straight to my MacBook, using Shure Wireless Mics, for my Crystal Sound Bowls Recording, the hissing sound is horrendous. Any tips or areas I ought to look at to reduce those HISSING sound? Thanks Deb!
my first guess would be your gain and track volumes are out of whack. your gain should be turned up just b4 clipping then adjust the track volume. good place to start may be to have gain around 11:00 oclock and the track volumes close to 0. maker sure the effects are off. Make sure your wireless mics volumes are set correctly. Wireless mics are not the best for clarity. You may be picking up interference with the wireless mics from something nearby?
got all these new fangled Katana amps, the Behringer 1204 USB etc and you helped me tremendously Deb Erney. :-) Thank YOU.
If u’re here for the sound craft segment, it starts at 6:44

@@DebErney Thank you for the reply! I think you would be well enough suited for it and would love to see how it works out for you. Thank you!

The Xenyx has USB buttons that are a pain to get right. I haven’t done anything with my mixer in a while this would be a good video.
Hi, if its possible connect the two mixers at same time?
yes, you can. Some mixers have a link function. A work around is to run your main outputs of smaller mixer into the inputs of larger mixer. This is not ideal, but will work in a pinch.

Can you only record all the inputs on the mixer on one track or can you put each Individual track on its own separate track?
Depends on your mixer. The Behringer and Allen & Heath have 2 separate tracks for one stereo. A lot of PRESONUS gear has 1 stereo track.
no
Quick question, i tried this with my Behringer xenyxq1202usb mixer but i am still not getting any audio signal within any of my DAW's?
You’ve missed a step in software or hardware. Try this video VE 8 USB RECORDING update 2019 as it uses the same process.
The usb driver is supposed to be built in to OS X

Yes. I was informed that shure mics have very low live output.
Try buying a Cloudlifter, I had the same thing with my SM7B and that boosted the level significantly

I would unplug it turn Mac off then on again and retry the setup.
as this unit tends to be setup for wireless, have you tried that? Page 24 of your manual suggest Midi or wireless connection.
Is the Xenyx 1204 usb compatible with apple's M1 chip? Thank you.
I would call Apple and Behringer to find out.
Hi,
is it possible to record 2-3 for example (2 guitars - 1mic) tracks at same time on logic from Behringer ? or max 2 tracks at same time ?

How does the phone get in that equation?
Here is the video I did for that a few weeks ago. ruclips.net/video/QQnuXFimgYY/видео.html
Waste of time, nothing applies to Ableton. Useless.huge waste of time. No one uses Logic. You see how many likes you get? Do stuff that is relevant.
next time include ABLETON in your search. then I wouldn't be wasting my time to tell you.
@@DebErney I was disappointed, not trolling you.
The audio on this is horrible
🦻🏽 Say what?
